Patty B's is well known in the area and is usually packed - so best bet is to make a reservation. It's traditional Italian food and they also have a bakery with pastries, cakes etc, which are made in house. I got the chicken parm with homemade fettuccine. The chicken cutlets are prepared in-house and were cooked perfectly. Yet, there was just so much garlic that it overwhelmed the the entire dish. Also, the homemade fettuccine was very similar to Spätzle in both taste and form - it was odd. I got the eggnog cheesecake and my companion got the lemonchello cake. The eggnog cheesecake was decent- though my companion wasn't impressed with the cake and felt the frosting was the best part of their cake. I really wanted to love this place , but unfortunately I wasnt overly fond of the food. read more

I am not a complainer and have been here before but the other night was awful! The service was great, the dinners were terrible. We started with drinks which for the price should have at least had some alcohol in them, they did not! On to an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms which were just ok. Dinner was terrible!! Chicken Piccata which had overdone actual chicken tenders on the pasta! I had the linguini and clam sauce which actually made me ill later that night. the minced clams were canned and had a strong fishy smell. Fine Italian restaurants have clams in the actual shell on the pasta which means the clams are fresh not canned! In hindsight we should have sent both dinners back to the kitchen. Chicken Piccata is obviously NEVER is served with tenders. The garlic bread was old and cold.. seemed as though it was left over from a table!! We've supported Patty since she was a server at Cartellis and love her but sadly on this particular night the D Team must have been in the kitchen!! If you're looking for traditional carbonara this is not it. I love garlic but there was too strong of a garlic flavor maybe it was burnt? It was still okay though. REALLY MEDIOCRE meal. Let's start with the appetizers: we ordered three things: (1) Onion rings - they were commercially prepared and they sucked. Big, thick, soggy rings that nobody ended up eating. ($11.00). (2) Teriyaki-glazed chicken wings. THESE WERE AMAZING. Fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious ($16.00 for8 wings). (3) The Antipasti plate. ($26.00). Delicious and amazing, but way overpriced. Let's talk about the dinners. Two of us (I and my daughter) ordered the flatbread pizza. They were good.... But not amazing. The crusts were doughy and not crisp and crunchy the way they are supposed to be. My father ordered the Fettuccine Alla Carbonara. It was terrible (even the kitchen admitted that they had screwed it up). My father sent it back and it was taken off the bill. My uncle ordered the Beef au jus sandwich. He said it was decent, but not earth-shattering. My uncle-in-law ordered a salad. Hard to screw up and he said it was fine. He can't have *any* fat in his diet so his meal choices are *really* limited!! My aunt-in-law had parmigiana and 3 glasses of wine. She doesn't remember the meal. Three of us ordered coffee and there were several iced teas plus one slice of their German chocolate cake. With everything.... The bill came to over three hundred dollars. That included a *mandatory* 20% gratuity because there were 9 of us at the table. This also included the NINE PERCENT meals tax that the twats in NH impose. PATTI B's bills itself as a "everything prepared in-house" restaurant but it's NOT true. Their cakes are commercially prepared and so are (at least) their onion rings. Personally, I'd never go back. They assigned only one waitress to our table and she was over-worked. Further, and more importantly, the food is just not that good, overall. They obviously do some things well, but they are way overpriced and just not worth it in comparison to other places. read more

I'm not sure how I found this restaurant but I looked at the menu and thought we would give it a try. We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door. While they were getting a table ready we had a chance to peruse the dessert selections in the pastry case. Make sure you save room! Our waitress Robin was wonderful. She gave us time to settle in and read the menu at our leisure. There was no rushing. I had the veal piccata. It was pounded out thin and per my request extra garlic. No skimping here. My nephew had the eggplant parmigiana. Enough to take home some for dinner. Both entrees were served with a toasty slice of garlic bread. We both saved room for a lovely cream puff from the dessert show case. Just the right size. I had told Robin that it was my nephew's birthday and his had a candle in it. I also made sure that he had dessert for tonight, the biggest slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I live just north of Boston; Patty B's is worth the trip. I will definitely be back. Update to previous review: Had the Chicken Marsala today, Pasta Ala Vodka, Caesar salad and garlic bread. The Chicken Marsala was served over angel hair pasta. The sauce was watery and tasteless. No trace of Marsala wine flavor at all. The chicken was very tender but tasteless. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper to the dish to make it eatable - very disappointing. The Chicken Piccata is a better choice. The Pasta Ala Vodka had way too much sauce. The pasta was almost lost in the dish. I still give Patty B's four stars for service and ambiance but will not be ordering the Marsala again. I've had the Pasta Ala Vodka before and it was exceptional, so maybe the cook had a bad night. We were excited to try Patty B's based on recommendations from friends. We were seated almost immediately. I ordered veal Parmesan, my friend ordered scallop scampi (I think). Hers usually has a garlic, buttery sauce. Our food arrived and mine was served with a piece of burnt bread. I asked for and received a replacement. My dinner was ok, but not exceptional. My friend was extremely disappointed. She had no sauce, according to her. I couldn't tell. We got dessert to go. The meals were mediocre, the desserts were outstanding! Love the food. Love the waitstaff. HOWEVER... once you pay, or once you're finished eating - that's it. You are made to feel like you are no longer good to the staff. This is not the first time this has happened to me, or my family. After we are finished eating, we want to purchase something sweet from their lovely bakery items (I took pictures of how yummy everything looks). I waited for no kidding... at least 10 minutes. I couldn't even get acknowledged. No eye contact. No... "I'm so sorry, give is a couple of minutes to seat some customers, and we will be right with you". Nothing. As if they couldn't be bothered with me. I wanted to buy a dessert for my husband and I for home. I swear, they couldn't even look at me. As if they were completely done with me. This used to be my favorite restaurant. I have spent many evenings and many dollars at this establishment. Tonight. For example... I spent over 150.00 for dinner and a couple of drinks for hubby and I. To be treated like crap once we paid. Hire more help if you need to. But... I will not be back. Well, we were in the area and saw this restaurant Patty B's. It had 4 stars on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. We sat down at our table right next to the open kitchen and was immediately asked by our waitress what we would like to drink. I ordered a martini. Drinks came and we ordered. I chose the Creamy Chicken Marsala, my husband Veal Parmesan. We also ordered a garden salad to share. Salad was very good but hubby wasn't crazy over it because it was full of green leafy lettuce. Some of the pieces were giant so lettuce had to be cut up. Came with a few slices of cucumber and tomato, onion and slivered carrots. Very large salad though for the price of $7. My entrée came and I was pretty excited as it sounded really good. It is described as "Creamy Marsala", Cremini and locally foraged black trumpet mushrooms, shallots, marsala wine with choice of pasta. You could get with chicken which was $30, Veal $33, Shrimp $34 or Salmon $38. My dish came and had very little chicken in it. There were 5 small cut up pieces in the dish. I guess I wouldn't have been so upset over the fact that I hardly got any chicken if the sauce was tasty. It wasn't. You really could not taste ANY marsala wine. All the sauce tasted like was mushrooms. The entire bowl was pasta and mushroom sauce. I have had Marsala with chicken many places and this had to be the worst. I make chicken Marsala and mine is 100 times better than this. I use really good Marsala Casal DOC Sweet Marsala. It is really dark and super flavorful and would not be overtaken by mushrooms in a dish. I mentioned to the waitress when she asked if we wanted anything boxed up about there being literally no chicken in my dish and she took half the price off. She apologized for the cooks. That was very nice but I doubt it was the cooks, its probably management that sets the rules. All in all, my entrée was a rip off for $30. A bowl of pasta with a few pieces of chicken is NOT worth $30. My husband got his Veal Parmesan and said it was pretty tender. Although again very little protein in the dish. One VERY small piece of Veal. And a bowlful of pasta. Sauce was pretty good. So, if you are into paying $22 for a huge bowl of pasta and very small piece of veal you would be happy. Pasta is something I can make at home. The bright part in all of it was our server Angela, who was awesome. She offered us free desserts I ordered Tiramisu but they didn't have any. So she gave me a huge piece of carrot cake which was nice. I would not repeat this restaurant as I'm sure the portions received were not a fluke on that night. This was our second time together enjoying PattyB's. We arrived around 3:30 on Saturday afternoon. A rainy late afternoon on UNH and Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy graduation day. Full House. We had a short wait and were greeted pleasantly. We sat on the opposite wall from the open kitchen. Salivated over the dessert case. Perfectly prepared meals. The only criticism we found the ratio of the cream cheese too heavy while lacking garlic in the artichoke dip. The Marsala and Carbonara were amazing. PattyB's was recommended by a friend. We went early on a Friday night. When you walk in you see the delicious homemade desserts. The restaurant itself was very clean and welcoming. The employees were very nice. The veal parmigiana was very good and it was a good portion. We aloe ordered the eggplant parmigiana and I was told that was good too. Food; normally pretty good. I detest watery pasta though! DRAIN it well please, otherwise it ruins the sauce. Daughter did not like her meal. She didn't like the sauce. She's a chef, so she's a bit fussy. I have had several different dishes there. I find that on different occasions, what you expect isn't always what you get. Different cooks... an off night... meh. My last meal was served burned. Lasagna and sausage esp was burned. I ate it anyway. It was edible. The bread that they serve has been cut down in size. Yes, that's right, we noticed! I figure it's a simple way to stretch the buck! The brick is yummy. OOMPH, you better be hungry! Ravioli is great... But I had the risotto one night and honestly, I just couldn't stop eating it! I am pretty sure that they make their own deserts... at least I was told that they used to. All in all, I feel that they do a pretty good job after having come from a tiny hole in the wall. The problem is US. We have these expectations... we were thrilled when she expanded... I know they give it their best, but we expect them to be perfect each and every time even while they have grown into a hugely successful eatery in our town. From all of my experiences here, I can see that the staff is very supportive and willing. The bartenders are great! Everyone seeks to accommodate your needs. I think the ambience is perfect. It's not dark... doesn't have linen tablecloths... rather you are greeted at the door with a delightful dessert case. You can check it out if you like and even decide on which dessert you'll order when you are done with your meal. GOOD LUCK! You will probably be so full you won't even want any, in fact, if you stand at the dessert case and try to decide which one you might like to take home, your belly will remind you that you are way too full to care at the moment! If you REALLY want dessert, I suggest that you only eat half your meal, saving the leftovers for the next day! Moving on, I find the prices comparable to any other restaurant that serves good food. EVERYONE has had to raise their prices. If you don't like it, then stay home. Life is just way too short to fret over the things we have no control over. If you're looking for some solid Italian American food - look no further. We came by on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and this place was busy. It took them a few minutes to seat us but the service was on point. They were very attentive and ensured that we were well taken care of. I got the eggplant parm which consisted of super thinly sliced eggplant that was battered and fried. The coating was well seasoned and went well with the marinara sauce that covered it all. We also tried the chicken parm which was tender and flavorful. Both dishes were served with a delicious piece of garlic bread. The portions were large and I was able to take some home for later that day. One thing that really surprised us was the quality of their coffee. This has been our go to spot for Italian. Today was very disappointing. The service was horrible, I got the eggplant parmigiana- which I always get here and is usually delicious. Today, however I am disappointed on numerous levels. The waitress was less than accommodating, then when my meal came out it was so burned the entire eggplant was black. Not crispy, burnt to the point that it was unedible. My husband and I were astonished that they would even try to serve something that disgusting. The waitress was even astonished. So we get our bill - no comp no nothing. To the owner- you have now lost a loyal customer. By not comping a burnt dish of $22.00. You lost future revenue. Poor decision. We will not be returning. To the waitress- you lost a great tip, because we always tip more than 25%. Sad and disappointing. read more

The kitchen was busy so we had to go into the restaurant to order takeout, but we would have gone to pick it up anyway and the website had a disclaimer about it. This was our first time at Patty B's as we just moved to the area. It was super cozy inside with a gorgeous dessert case. The staff was very friendly and when we asked if we could get our bread to eat while we waited as we were pretty hungry, she gave it to us on a little plate with the dips! The kitchen was slammed, but the food didn't take too long at all. When we got home, everything was divine. I don't think we've ever had better marsala made at a restaurant. We usually don't elect to get Italian out, as we're both Italian American and can cook. I ended up getting a slice of cake to go out of the beautiful dessert case and it is also amazing. The only draw of the whole meal was that our pasta was a tad overcooked, but we're picky and like it perfectly al dente while many don't- not a huge deal. Lots of communication and collaboration occurs amongst staff daily, all in an open minded and collaborative way. The chicken Parm also did not fail to disappoint. We took so many left overs home as the potions were just so big. They even added extra sauce to our meals when they packed it up.
