I'm a bit of a paczki snob and was told that they are great at Patti's. The reviews I had heard were correct! Their paczki are amazing. Full of flavor, filling and packed with flavor. You know it is going to be a good paczki when it is heavy and they didn't disappoint. They had several traditional flavors but also had two rotating specialty flavors. I've also had king cakes and various cookies and they have all been delicious. The place was packed. There was a line, but they kept it moving efficiently. There is parking available, but make sure you don't park in spots designated for another business in the same strip. I saw someone from one of those businesses monitoring spots and threatening a tow (which is obviously their right to do). They also have a cafe side with tables and some cute decor. I looked at the menu options and saw what some patrons were getting and it looked great. Something I'll definitely have to come back and try. Overall, a great spot for some tasty treats. Great local, family owned bakery/coffee shop. They have a nice selection of baked goods, coffees, specialty drinks and rotating soup specials and other small food items (sandwiches) for breakfast and lunch. Upon walking in you take a number and they move through the numbers very quickly, I have never waited long to be waited on. My favorite is the Ho Ho cake and the slices of other specialty cakes. I came here a few times a week when I had to be in the area. I have my favorite things here for sure! First of all...their coffee. They use coffee tree roasters, which is a really good quality coffee company. They use a good barista milk and top notch syrups. So overall, way better than Starbucks or Dunkin, if you appreciate the actual taste of coffee and don't want a sugar overload. I absolutely love their scones. I am a connoisseur and these are moist and flavorful without being sugar-forward. I also love their biscotti. They are the softer kind, not the crunchy. Which in my opinion are way better and goes so well with their coffee. I have also tried various kinds of cookies and cakes here. The quality is there! I'm not the biggest fan of sweets like this so I'm sure you'd love it! Service is pretty fast even when busy (unless you get an indecisive customer in front of you) and there's a good deal of seating and enough parking, if not there's a side street too. read more

Visiting from Arizona and this place is walking distance from my Dad's. Went in for a latte and donut but came out with a dozen cookies too. This place is like home because the cookies I've eaten so far taste just like my families recipes. Yum! Especially the chocolate chips. Their buttercream is light and fluffy, not dense like I'm used to. Even the latte is wonderful! I ate a buttercream filled donut. Filling was generous and tasted fresh. A lot of donuts you buy taste like stale oil because they don't change the oil often enough. Apparently Patti's replaces it often. I hate when it isn't because I end up burping that nasty flavor all day. I really wish we had this in Arizona. Patti's if you have family in the Phoenix area, convince them open a location! I'm so happy to have stumbled across this local gem. I was searching for a bakery that did not add raisins in the carrot cake, and I found a winner. This bakery makes fresh carrot cakes and other specialty cakes in 6" form every morning, and they sell then first come, first served. My mom wanted carrot cake for her birthday, so this was perfect. The cake was soft and fluffy, and the cream cheese was rich and creamy. This has the right amount of carrot peices and a good mixture of walnuts inside. This has to be the best carrot cake in Pittsburgh. They also had other goodies like specialty coffee, sandwiches, donuts, and other sweet treats. Every year for my birthday I travel to local-ish bakeries and I purchase lots of sweet treats. This year I chose Patti's as I heard they sell cake slices and I've been following them on Facebook. This year as my family is getting smaller, I decided to go the route of cake slices (and other treats) for my birthday instead of a birthday cake. As I walked in, the bakery smell of all things sweet is excellent; there is a number machine to take a number and I was 123; they were on 119 and this gave me time to peruse the cases. The gal that waited on me was friendly and patient as I had curious questions and I was happy to see another gal brought out brownies in that time, which is a staple for me. Everything looks delicious! So far, I've had a bite of the ho-ho cake (scrumptious), a thumbprint, and half of an apricot paczki which was delightful. read more

I cannot stop bragging about both of my experiences here! First I stopped in after a night shift and the staff was so kind and patient with me. I picked out four wonderful pastries, a coffee and pre ordered my birthday cake. The cake was so appetizing and delicious that I broke into it at midnight on my birthday, had another piece for breakfast and wrote on the box for the others in my house to not eat all my cake! On a whim I asked my hubby, who was doing some last minute Christmas Shopping, to stop at Patti's to get us some goodies. He brough back cookies and lady locks. The workers are excellent. My hubby is handicapped and although they were very busy he was able to have a seat while he wait. It was just perfect for him. Very accommodating. The shop is so adorable and the workers are fantastic. I'll gladly take the extra calories for cookies that taste this good. Already placed my order for my New Year's Eve Pretzel. Let me start by saying I have purchased a lot of bakery goods from Patti's. Clearly, they are having some growth issues. Placed my order ahead of time to pick up Saturday at noon. I go to the pickup area, to be told, "you must take a number"...after waiting for 10 minutes and not a sole asked "how may I help you?".... So - go get my number, wait ANOTHER 10 MINUTES, to be told my order was not ready, that had been placed several days before. Nothing more than a simple, neighborhood local cafe. No, no, no ! It is more than that ! For one, their cafe / drink menu was impressive. Although the lady did take quite some time to make the drinks, they were worth the wait. The pastries were also very delicious !!!! The nut horns and thumbprints were yummy ! I drive by this place almost everyday and decided to stop in since a lot of my coworkers talk about this place. This place is a small family owned and run bakery that also has a small bistro area. They make some really good coffee beverages and these bread rolls with meat or breakfast type food (eggs and cheese). These rolls are delicious! I got the egg, sausage, and cheese one and the bread around it was so soft and fluffy. I recommend getting one of them. The wait wasn't long and it goes fast when they do have people in the store. Was driving through the area today, and spotted this place. All I can say is... unreal. It was a fantastic first experience. I was greeted kindly immediately, and I quickly informed the young lady that it was my first time. She worked with me, and showed me around everything they had. I was very impressed with the customer service. Before leaving, when I left a tip, the young lady made sure to sincerely thank me. That goes a long way with me when someone shows appreciation--even though I'm the one who is supposed to be showing appreciation for her efforts! I don't find that level of great customer service many places. At her recommendation, I tried one of their Chocolate Banana Lattes... fantastic! As for the desserts, I sampled some of their cold doughs, their raspberry shortbread cookies, tiramisu, some of the bar cakes, some biscotti's, and some other cookies. All were--FANTASTIC. I was truly impressed with EVERYTHING I tried. NOTHING was just "eh" or "ok". It was GREAT, and done very well. You can tell there is a quality that you don't find every where. After visiting Patti's Pasticceria booth during the ice house in Market Square last week, I was excited for the opportunity to try out this bakery. The bakery sits in a strip mall and there is parking available. While most come to order takeout they do have a number of tables to eat in as well. My girlfriend and I decided to try the spinach feta rolls. It's about 8 inches long, very thick, and definitely was something we could have split between the two of us. Yet for $4.00 a piece it was a great bargain. In addition to baked goods, they offer regular and specialty coffees. A refrigerator holds bottled water and most beverages you'd find at a grocery store such as Turner ice tea. Since I was blown away last week by their wedding soup, I ordered today's soup of the day which happened to be chili soup. It was served hot and was delicious! Everything here is homemade from scratch with the exception of gluten free desserts that come from Gluuteny bakery. I had an opportunity to interview the chief chef and owner Patti who explained the concept was to make you feel at home. Using her grandmother's recipes, the soup changes daily and is offered on weekdays only. You can also purchase day old soup in their freezer compartment. The soup menu is available to view on a monthly basis on their website if you are after a particular one. Dessert time. Lots to choose from and cake portions are generous. Each of us decided to order a cannoli. They fill them right there for you and then add toppings on the side. You can choose from tiramisu, chocolate, or vanilla creme fillings. For $2.75 a piece you can't go wrong. I ended up getting the chocolate one. My girlfriend had the tiramisu one. Both were outstanding! Patti's Pasticceria also does catering but especially wedding cakes, cookies, and cannolis. When I asked Patti about my favorite Italian cookie the fig cudati, she told me she doesn't make it. No big loss for a bakery that offers so much at such reasonable prices. White Oak's hidden gem of a bakery offers exceptional food, coffee, and both breakfast pastries and generous desserts all at reasonable prices. Minimum card charge is $5.00. Located on Lincoln Way in White Oak, I most definitely will return here to try their pepperoni rolls and other tempting goodies. read more

As one of the three front runners for our wedding cake, we chose Patti's Pasticceria due to her cake/icing combinations and reputation for beautiful cakes. Patti personally worked with us to design our cake and provided us with five (5) cupcake samples of her most popular combinations, which included one cupcake with what we were initially looking for - white cake with buttercream icing. We chose a three layer cake for service to 90 people, but had plenty to go around for our 100 guest reception. Everyone loved the design and delicious combination of white almond cake with European raspberry jelly/buttercream icing. The champagne rosettes on the bottom layer and the beautifully-done red rosettes between the middle and top layers really made for a classic design. Delivery to our reception was prompt and without issue, Patti's worked flawlessly with our venue to make sure that everything arrived and was set-up exactly as we'd requested. We highly recommend Patti and her staff for your wedding cake, or cakes for any special occasion! While you're at it, the pastries that she normally carries in her shop are quite good, too - the lemon blueberry scones are delicious! read more

I love their cakes and Patti is so nice, but this is the THIRD time this place has proven to be unreliable when it comes to placing and fulfilling cake/cookie orders. The first time, they insisted they didn't have my cake...checked all over. 5 mins later they found it in the cooler. The second time, I ordered a cake and a dozen macaroons and they somehow had no record of my order even though I had called and placed the order two weeks before. I left empty handed. Today, they couldn't find my cake yet again and I wasted 20 mins in there while they searched. Needless to say, I won't be going here anymore. If you do plan to go here, be sure to call and confirm your order multiple times because clearly whatever system they're using doesn't work. read more

Absolutely gorgeous box of donuts (as per picture below) from this lovely bakery. I'm a huge donut fan and therefore was really excited to dig into these. I could only afford to eat one this time, but I highly recommend the powdered sugar jelly filled donut, which oozes with the sweetest, juiciest, jam. If you can appreciate it from the picture, these donuts are thick and large in size, so you are really getting the best experience possible when donut dining from this establishment.
