If you buy a house, you may not know who installed it. Last week Wednesday (1/7) I called because we had a mini-split installed (DIY) and I was told that before you turn it on, have an HVAC company come out and test it, check the pressure in the lines and then turn it on. When I called, the nice lady on the phone said that they do not diagnose or work on equipment unless they have done the installation. OK, no problem, I called their "sweet" competitor and they sent out a technician within 48 hours to do the job. 2 stars only because the lady on the phone was nice, although again, I am shocked that a service company will not do service calls

I had several contractors advise not to try and fit a door slab to an existing jamb and helped to discourage me with a high price tag. But I spoke with Dolan lumber and door and they said it was totally doable. Having trouble finding an installer I asked for a recommendation and was given Carlos's number. I was nervous because the jamb had a crack.. and some wear on the old hinges with toothpicks to help level.. but his crew was of no concern.. they did not cut any corners.. fit the door to the millimeter of perfection and even allowed me to paint the sides before final install. It was his willingness to work around my schedule and ultimately by replacing 20-plus dual pane argon filled windows, without damaging my stucco and or interior wooden shutters. Jason replaced my windows by replacing the glass inserts without altering the frames! During this process (completed in one day)!!!! I decided to have him install two shower doors, a full size tub as well as full size walk-in shower. Both showers door's are of 3/8th thickness, very solid, high end product and with a crew of professionals to complete an accurate and one time install. Jason and crew are Pro's, personable, approachable and an honest hard working group of guys! I think most companies receive their products from the same few dealers out of the area, so all of the other factors - sales, recommendations, follow-up, and installation are where Steve's really shines. Their salesman was a zero-pressure, information-forward gentleman who provided plenty of options and recommendations that would fit our front door and window setup. The front desk staff/logistics/admin were friendly, happy to chat with us, and flexible when it came to scheduling and planning. The installers are absolutely top-notch - these really feel like "local guys from the neighborhood" who care about making sure their work is here to last and be permanent. Just because the main offices aren't in Sacramento doesn't mean they don't care about each customer, regardless of where they're located.
