We recently remodeled our bathrooms and the final step was to have shower glass installed. Our general contractor had two recommendations, but I told him I would also reach out to a few others to get some more bids-a habit of mine because I always like to get the best quality for the most competitive price. I don't ever think it's worth it to skimp on quality and safety to save a dollar though. So while I'm price-driven, quality is always key.
After receiving bids from the recommended vendors from my general contractor, and reaching out for two additional bids on my own (four total), I was pretty discouraged. Every option was extremely expensive, and it got to the point where I was close to just going with a shower curtain rod instead. Luckily, I contacted Mike from Integrity Shower Doors & Custom Glass. I consider a 5 star review when the communication, service, product, and price all come together perfectly. This was the case here.
Communication:
Mike was very responsive, polite, professional, and friendly. He gave a lot of information over the phone, had a great positive attitude, and scheduled an appointment to come out to measure our bathroom. He arrived on time for the measuring appointment, and gave me a few options on how to best design our shower glass walls and doors. He could tell I was a little hesitant on price and gave me workable options. He measured everything carefully, paid attention to little details (placement and shape of the toilet, etc.), drew everything out on grid paper, and then showed me what he thought would work best. He then contacted me a day later with the complete estimate proposed work order.
Even during the installation process, he would explain what he was doing, why certain things were important, etc. And to put it most simply, he was just a good, friendly, honest, hard-working guy.
Service:
Mike's service was excellent. As described above, he was extremely punctual, always texted/called to let me know when he was coming, always explained the work he was doing, and provided helpful background on different ways to care for our shower glass afterward. He worked quickly, laid out tarps to keep the area clean, was very respectful of our home, and paid very close attention to little details (e.g., sanded down sharp edges to give them a smooth feel, made all edges and joints meet perfectly, ensured there was no wobbling of handles or doors, siliconed every edge and joint cleanly and uniformly, and cleaned the shower glass to be spotless after completion).
Product:
Mike works only with premium quality glass and parts. Our shower doors were custom measured and ordered to fit our unique dimensions, 1/4 tempered glass, quality brushed nickel hardware and rails, and no deformities anywhere.
Price:
As mentioned, I was about to give up and just go with a shower rod instead. I didn't want to resort to a shower rod because I felt it would take away from the completed look of the bathroom remodel (like getting to the last step and giving up), but I also was unwilling to pay the expensive prices from the four other quotes I received. The reality is that custom glass, framing, and installation is not cheap. But when all was said and done, Mike offered an extremely reasonable price (considerably more competitive than the other quotes I received), and it was actually comparable to the total price it would have cost to order a standard kit from Home Depot/Lowe's and have it professionally installed. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.
Conclusion:
I cannot give a higher recommendation or review. I am completely satisfied from beginning to end with the communication, service, product, and price I received from Mike. I saved his number and will be recommending him to all my family and friends that need custom shower glass for their new homes and remodel. read more
