The delicious food and drinks

Not only was the food exceptional at this restaurant, but the service we received was phenomenal. Walter is truly such a nice guy, and anyone else that came to our table was so nice. The overall vibe of this place was so fun and perfect. I couldn't recommend this place enough!!

I had higher hopes going into Patrizia's but was let down by a few things. We can start with the positives- they made an error initially and gave us free sangria! That was very kind of them considering it's a primarily BYOB restaurant. That said, the food unfortunately left a lot to be desired. I went with a large group and we ordered the following: Appetizer: Calamari, mussels, eggplant rollatinj. The eggplant was very lackluster. It had no real flavor and you could tell it was not authentic. Mains: gnocchi vodka (which they were able to custom make as this wasn't on the menu, which is a nice plus), orchette with broccoli rabe and sausage, branzino and bolognese. The gnocchi vodka was watery and didn't have much flavor on its own. It really had to be doctored up with black pepper, salt, red pepper and cheese. TLDR, the bar for authentic Italian (even Italian- American) food is quite high in New Jersey/ NYC and this didn't quite cut it. The space was very nice and conducive to large parties and the service was great. I will note that it was also very overpriced- $30-$40 for a single dish that didn't quite live up to the hype.

Ok I have been meaning to review this place and finally got around to do so. Went with my family for mother-in-law's birthday dinner on a Saturday evening. Food: I had the truffle bucatini, I cannot find it on the menu but for the price, I expected it to be much better! We also ordered oysters, pork chops, and meat. I was not a fan of the porkchops or the calamari (not pictured here). Sorry to all the people who do love this place but I though the food was in the same category of Olive Garden quality. The amount of food they serve is massive, which to me can be off-putting. I guess I am not big on family style restaurants as much so I may be biased on that aspect. The place is BYOB so that's good for big groups. Dessert was also OK. The only reason I ended up trying some was because two people in my party did family-style. For $60 they could get a course of various apps + mains + desserts. Ambience: Bright, lively but a little too loud. In that sense, I am glad we were sat on the second floor (by a corner) so we couldn't hear the big groups on the 1st floor that were loud/noisy. Outdoor seating seemed nice though, but the whole restaurant was incredible busy, both inside and outside. Service: It was average. I get that this place gets incredibly busy and they have at least 40-50 people working per day but our server did not meet our expectations. The food came out fast though so no complaints there.

Here's one I missed right under my eye until now. We were invited to a birthday party of 10. A really nice affair and a great dinner at Patrizia's. James was a very capable server with his super quick bus boys. From appys, to entrees to two birthday cakes, yes two, the food was excellent. In days of yore this was a bank and a furniture store....so informed. Upstairs is for private parties. There is also outdoor dining, weather permitting, the street is close to traffic during the summer.

Seems that Patrizisa's is the place for large birthday, and other celebrations. It can become loud and boisterous with the clapping and singing for birthday parties. A nice looking restaurant with attentive competent wait staff. I found the pasta dishes to be mediocre and over sauced. We all brought our own wines, about 12 of us were able to order speedily but had a long wait for the dishes. It was a packed room the week after Halloween. Weekdays are probably much quieter, we were also celebrating 2 birthday's so we were as noisy as everyone else. Great place a good time with friends and family, I had fun not withstanding the only fair cuisine.

Red sangria

Wait staff was great and the atmosphere was pretty, especially decorated for Christmas. Food was mediocre Italian at best. Extremely bland and minimal seasoning. We ordered the family style option and decent portion sizes but overpriced for what we ate. Also ordered the red sangria (even though they say they're BYOB, they still have sangria and bottles of wine available). Would not return, but a nice night out.

The ambiance here is great and staff was attentive. At first, I thought it was a bit pricey, but after seeing the portion sizes for the appetizers and entrees it made sense! We got the rice ball appetizer and burrata special appetizer to start. Both were so good and filling we barely had room for our appetizers. All the food was out of this world. I would love to come back here for a date night.

Excellent dinner. Excellent dessert. Excellent service. I sat outside and the Summer atmosphere was incredible. However, I don't think I'd want to eat here when the weather cools. Because if I cannot sit outside, I don't want to be here. The indoor seating was loud, large, cramped and thoroughly uninviting. Just dipping through to use the restroom was a drag on the senses. To feel things changing that way so drastically was unfortunately surreal. A.

Pappardelle Bolognese.

***3 1/2 stars*** I'm not sure if I've ever been to a place that had better service than this, so at the very least Patrizia's has a massive intangible working for them. And on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon they have tons of outdoor seating options, which in downtown Red Bank means prime pooch viewing. But none of the food I had really blew me away, and that's a fairly important quality of an Italian restaurant. The Millennial Chum and I came here for a late lunch yesterday around 3 or 4. This was a pretty impulsive choice, based on no research and a quick perusal of the menu as we were walking by. It was pretty hopping but we had no issue requesting and obtaining a table by the sidewalk. Once again, I can't emphasize enough how good the service is - they have several staffers literally standing by at attention almost like ball boys at the US Open, ready to spring into action the minute a plate is clean or a water bottle empty. We both ordered pasta dishes, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they both showed up within probably five minutes. Clearly a place that cooks up gigantic heaps of pasta beforehand, ready to go when the situation arises, but if it tastes made-to-order/fresh, what's the downside? The best tasting item I had was the dipping oil for the bread. It had a lot of interesting spices to it and disappeared well before the bread did. The bread itself was actually pretty dry and tasteless - at an Italian restaurant, I'm expecting that if the bread isn't warm it's fresh and crisp - and we actually left about half of the bread uneaten. I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese ($24ish), which was okay but not great. I don't personally like having chunks of shizzle in my sauce beyond the meat, and there were tons of carrot pieces that I wasn't thrilled to see included. Easy to eat around, but a little inconvenient. If the menu description had referenced their inclusion, I probably would have gotten something else. The rest of the sauce was fine, but not as flavorful/tasty as I expect from this dish, which is one of my favorite pasta entrees. For what it's worth, the Millennial Chum sampled it and thought it was fantastic so Patrizia's would probably benefit more from her specific review. We also split a gelato sandwich dessert ($10), which was like a high class Chipwich, featuring chocolate chip cookies with vanilla gelato. It wasn't bad, but it was VERY obviously dug out of a freezer and was pretty hard to eat - we had to chip away at the edges like we were ice fishing or something. I actually prefer my ice cream-based desserts to be on the solid side (I can get a little riled up/stressed if the ice cream is melting and I feel like I'm on the clock) but this was definitely on the extreme end for me. This wasn't bad by any means but overall it was underwhelming and you can easily find better Italian options nearby.

Now onto the real horror story my wife's pasta supposed to be a lemon infused. It tasted like it came from the garbage of the sea. It was so disgustingly potent. I don't know how anyone could eat it. My wife took a few bites and she's not one to complain, so she just took it home and threw it away but what a waste of money and time. Then the kicker John, the general manager decided maybe because we didn't order appetizers or desserts just $200 with the 4 of us for entrees . He told us you had a nice meal. Have a great night and basically told us we had to leave without telling us we had to leave. I don't think we had been there more than an hour. Very uncomfortable I will never be back personally. I've talked to other people who said the quality is definitely gone down because they're trying to do too much with too little. Very disappointing for such an expensive bill.

The seating was tight and the ambient noise is overwhelming. We had 7p reservation and showed up 10 minutes early we waited 15 to 20 minutes for a table. The place is busy, we were seated and waited again for a waitress. The waitress was excellent, very personable and on point for her job. There were long periods between her table visits adding to my less than excellent review. Food wait felt long too and one other shortcoming, the Mrs. Wanted a pina colada and she was denied this drink. Understandable but disappointing that they can't make basic requested cocktails. I got the chicken parm, I really wanted something more creative but this place has a limited menu. I got spaghetti with my meal and the pasta was lacking sauce and there was that telltale rim of water telling me the pull the pasta and do not drain it adequately. The Mrs. Shrimp Fra Diablo was watery too. Overall it wasn't horrible but I wasn't impressed and will probably pass on visiting Pazzo again.

My wife wanted to take a ride to Red Bank, NJ on Saturday, March 21, 2026, to shop, walk the city and have a nice lunch. We arrived about Noon time and the city was lively with couples and family doing the same as us. You sensed the feeling that people were tired, frustrated and wanted to get out after the cold, tough winter we had and enjoy the beautiful day. About 1:30 my wife was getting hungry, not knowing where we should eat I went on the Yelp App and started checking out places. My wife loves pizza, could eat 4 times a day 8 days a week (LOL) her family was in the business for many years. I myself was born and raised in New Haven, Ct so I'm a New Haven Pizza Snob, growing up on Sally's, Pepe's, Modern Apizza and Zuppardi's. We decided to try Via Sposito's, now in the hands of the 4th generation, Anthony and Vincent Esposito Jr. Upon entering we were greeted by a smiling Hostess (Ava) who showed to our table and handed us the menus. Next our server (Kaitlyn) greeted us with a smile and asked if we wanted something to drink. We each ordered an unsweetened iced tea. The lunch menu has salads, homemade soups, homemade pasta dishes, oven baked sandwiches (with homemade in house bread), coal fired pizzas, and calzones. The mozzarella they use on sandwiches and pasta dishes is also homemade in house. My wife and I ordered their Diavolo Pizza, pomodoro sauce, homemade mozzarella, sausage, Sopressata, long hot peppers, basil, extra virgin olive oil. Phenomenal!!!! The Best Pizza I've had since moving to NJ 20 years ago. I can assure you we will be back for pizza many, many, many times. My wife also had the Stracciatella All Romana Soup. An egg drop with spinach soup. I ordered the sausage & broccoli rabe sandwich. Perfectly cooked broccoli rabe and very tasty sausage with homemade mozzarella which came with a small salad. I could only eat half and took the rest home with me for lunch on Sunday. We met Vincent who is a very charming and warm hearted person. He is very proud of his restaurant, and it shows in all aspects. My wife and I spoke with him about 20 minutes, and we felt like we knew him all our lives. Via Sposito was a great experience, the food, the employees and the owner Vincent really made our day. I highly recommend this place, I'm sure you will also enjoy the experience as much as we did.
