If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. No one knows what they are doing there, most of the staff is so unprofessional. There is 0 organization at this place and no communication with their clients. They promise you things and make the deal sound sweeter than it is. Once you sign those papers they don't care about you. It takes 10 business days to reach anyone at that office. They sold me a 60,000 car claiming they did a presale inspection and everything was all good. Told us they were going to print us the previous owners Service records and vehicle history report and to sign with good faith. Never got those papers. Brought the car home only to have problems within the next three days of the purchase. Took 2 weeks to schedule an appointment and they kept the car for over a week (for something that takes not even half an hour to fix) bc they "didn't have the parts ready". That was hilarious considering that the manager said that they were already working on it. The whole "come to you" for services is fake. They called me for a recall on my car, must've been the wrong person because after calling another BMW dealership they looked up my VIN and there is no recall on my vehicle. Porters have more knowledge than the Sales Department. Only amazing person there is Joanne I feel bad that she has to work with these people. As for Manny thanks for being nice and the only unproblematic person there. Never ever purchase or service your vehicle here it's the biggest waste of your time. Before buying my used X5m competition I shopped around at other dealerships including Fields, Barrington, Bill Jacobs in person and Knauz, Perillo, Laurel Westmont and others online/phone. Patrick BMW is different in my experience and this is how: 1) Extensive inventory - Patrick and Bill Jacobs have a lot of inventory and are volume businesses. I think both get lots of lease returns vs auctions from who knows where - Barrington, Fields, Knauz have less and are more a gross margin business - less about moving lots of inventory 2) Competitive pricing and willing to negotiate - e.g., Bill Jacobs on all their cars only would negotiate $500-1000 max. Barrington outright said they don't negotiate and their prices were a bit high to begin with. - e.g., Patrick had a good price and lowered price based on rationale discussions 3) Offers you options / other solutions based on your needs vs trying to sell you only what you are negotiating - e.g., Patrick gave me other compelling options as I was torn between M50i and X5M. Really listened to what my wife and I valued 4) Practical / no rush approach to finalizing deal - e.g., unlike my Audi exchange purchase earlier this year I wasn't rushed to make a decision and sign all the paperwork immediately - Patrick BMW does not rush you and they don't get frustrated by your questions - I asked a lot about getting winter tires, extended warranties, financing, etc. - Patrick BMW held the car for me prior to full purchase while they put winter tires on and fixed a minor self close door mechanism on the drivers door. 5) Offer good extended warranties with Zurich for X5M - Bill Jacobs had another warranty that was thousand dollars more expensive - Fields didn't have any warranty other than the expensive BMW warranty - the third party warranty did not giver M cars - Knauz had a competitive warranty called Road Vantage for same price and exclusionary coverage but Zurich is better known and other dealer service departments all said they had good experiences with Zurich covering claims 6) Patrick BMW is family owned and good hours - they are open until 9pm on weekdays partly because Patrick's other dealerships (e.g., Kia) have to be open that late - the staff are all really nice people and seem to have more freedom to operate vs auto nation dealerships like the one in westmont - Barrington motor Werks is now owned by a Miami network and so they may try to throw in other things into the mix + get cars from who knows where So many good things to say about Patrick BMW. To be balanced there are 2 cons: 1) building / offices are getting old and you can hear the fluorescent lights buzzing. No fancy snacks, etc. Bill jacobs is brand new. Give Patrick BMW time as they will probably build a new building 2) a bit under staffed so you may have to wait to finish all the paperwork Note: I'm ok with both when you get the car you want at the right price and with nice staff. I recently decided to upgrade vehicles, and narrowed down the make + model of what I wanted. (And since I only drive manual transmission, that was a specific necessity.) A TrueCar search indicated that Patrick BMW had a vehicle that fit my criteria. I was contacted by phone and email immediately after I inquired online (1/3/20). I set up an appointment to test drive the vehicle at 3:30pm on 1/8/20. (I had to make an appointment so far out in order to arrange childcare.) Over the next 5 days, I was contacted by three different employees (Cassie, Tommy, and Mike) about the vehicle and my appointment. They seemed enthusiastic for my business. Forty five minutes before my appointment, I was contacted and told that the car was unavailable and (allegedly) "sent to detail." (WHAT?!) I was absolutely speechless that I spent all of this time and effort for nothing. I was asked to come in at 6pm (?!!!), which wasn't even a remote possibility. The employee then told me that tomorrow he could drive the car out to my home (also not a possibility), or place of work, etc etc, and would make things right. I was still flabbergasted, but told him to "call me tomorrow then to discuss." (Shocker: "Tomorrow" came and went with no call.) It was an absolutely ridiculous experience! Obviously the staff at Patrick BMW didn't care about my business, or for the great inconvenience they caused me. Luckily it all worked out for me: after they cancelled on me, I located the same (but NEWER and very competitively priced!) vehicle at a different dealership. Fortunately the staff at that dealership treated me right, and they earned my business. I recently had a great experience with Patrick BMW. For starters, they had the most competitive pricing of the several dealers I reached out to. They were transparent and very willing to work with my every request. I did a custom order and they were spot on in their 4-6 week estimate from order to build to delivery (ended up being 5 weeks) even during Covid factory slowdowns. My CA is Brian Appelhans and he was great. I highly recommend Brian. He was responsive to my calls and provided me with the necessary items to track my build. He even called me during the order entry process to confirm some minor options in my order. He's really great to work with and seemed like he had a lot of customers when we were there. Fast forward 5 weeks, my car was stunning when I picked her up. Just glistening in the bay and in the lot after an initial drive. The paperwork process with Brian was fast and painless. The one hiccup we experienced was the wait time to speak with the finance manager. There was only 1 when we were there and so it was about a 90 min wait which wasn't in our plans but once we got in, everything went fast. No aggressive up selling whatsoever. The dealership did a really great job with Covid protocol. Everyone wore masks, customers were situated in separate waiting areas, and there was hand sanitizers everywhere. I made it clear that I wouldn't be buying anything today, but he was still very helpful and patient as I did the test drive and he showed me some various options they have. It was all very low-pressure, which I appreciate. I'm not one who is afraid to walk away when people get pushy, so I won't put up with hard sales tactics. I don't get a super sales vibe from this place. But, if I decide to go back and make a purchase, we'll see how that goes. But based on first impressions, no complaints. The bathrooms are clean, and they have a nice lounge while waiting for sales or service, with coffee and snacks. I never thought I'd walk out of a car dealership thinking I had a great, pleasant experience but that's exactly what happened. We loved working with Don as he was honest and forthright. Overall good experience when purchasing our new X7 M50i a year ago. Our salesman Gary was great and was very helpful with no pressure. We had a few questions as this is our first BMW as we previously had Porsche, Bentley and Audi. They provided a decent price and so we decided to purchase that day. There was a small issue with finance as we wanted to pay in full with a trade in but the general manager came to talk to us (excellent customer service) and the finance person to clear things up. We were just there for our first service visit and the service advisor and team was courteous and had us in and out fairly quickly. Took in my car for a diagnostic and repair, and was misdiagnosed twice. Blake Cotten then antagonized me claiming that I "shorted out a wire in the car" and charged me for a new electronic module that did not repair the car and caused additiona faults. A third party mechanic with basic knowledge was able to fix my car in roughly 25 minutes without replacing any parts or touching wiring. This dealer is the same as any other, and they will always go after your wallet before anything. read more

I had VERY POOR SERVICE today at Schaumburg, Patrick BMW, by ADAM in the service depart. and want to formally complain how rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, abrupt, and basically a JERK he was to me. I kindly explained that I need assistance clearing the oil/engine/brake fluid light. When I told him that I had my oil changed a few days ago at Duke Oil, he immediately copped an arrogant attitude and stated that he can't help me. Stated that I can "You-Tube" or "read the manual" to shut the light off- it takes 2 minutes to fix it. I told him that I have several lights on, and I already tried that!! Adam stated "Why should we help you, if we didn't change your oil here"......I told him that's great service, and you are ridiculous, you seriously can't help me? "It's BMW policy"......Really Adam....That's like you going to Advocate Hospital with a broken leg, getting a cast on, then going to Northshore Hosptial if you have complications, but they REFUSE to see you!! Adam proceeded to say for $269.00 we can change your brake fluid and that should remove the light alarm! I said you are NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, WHAT A JOKE, GOODBYE! Just purchased a 2019 X5 XDrive50i from Patrick BMW and the whole all around experience was wonderful! We worked with salesman Terry Shoemaker and he was great! I couldn't be there in person to work out the deal and Terry took the time with my father to show him everything on the car, email me the specs, and work out the numbers. Terry Shoemaker! This guy is magic! You never know what to expect with car dealers and going into a dealership is always a tough and LONG process. But all the folks at Patrick BMW truly made the car buying process a pleasure to sit through and deal with. Customer service was out of this world!
