After getting bids from four contractors to replace our old, wood pergola at our front entrance…read morewith a new, aluminum patio cover, we decided to go with Pacific Patio. Steve, the co-owner, was most patient and thorough in accommodating our needs, including drainage and lighting, and helping us think through the design and materials. The price was reasonable. JD, the project manager, was great, keeping us abreast of what was going on as the project proceeded. The crew--Jesse and Randal, Robert and Anthony--were likewise a pleasure to work with. The end product is a pleasure to look at, eliciting many positive comments from neighbors and thumbs-up from passers by.

I originally posted this review about eight months ago, but it appears to have been removed, so I'm…read moreposting it again. This review concerns only my experience with Pacific Patio's bidding process. The proposal I received did not include any meaningful detail about the materials that would be used. When I asked specific questions--such as whether the support posts would be steel or aluminum--the salesperson refused to answer. Instead, he responded sarcastically, "Do you want me to tell you what kind of bolts we're going to use?" My answer is yes. The materials matter. The type of bolts, fasteners, posts, and other structural components affects the durability and safety of the finished product. Lower-quality hardware may perform differently under wind loads and over time, so it's reasonable for a customer to know what is being proposed. I repeatedly asked for a list of the materials that would be used, but the salesperson would not provide one. Without that information, I had no meaningful way to compare Pacific Patio's proposal with competing bids. Just as importantly, I would have had no clear basis for holding the contractor accountable if different materials were substituted during the project. The salesperson also became increasingly dismissive as I continued asking for this information. That lack of transparency and professionalism led me to award the project--worth approximately $100,000--to another contractor. I'm sharing this experience so that prospective customers know to ask for a detailed written description of the materials included in any proposal before making a decision.

We had a wonderful experience with Carlos and Higher Levels Roofing. From the very beginning,…read moreCarlos was extremely responsive, patient, and thorough. We had a lot of questions and he took the time to explain everything clearly, from the roofing system and ventilation to the warranties and installation process. Carlos stayed personally involved throughout the job, his crew was professional and respectful, and they did a great job protecting and cleaning up the property. The finished roof looks beautiful. What impressed us most were the little things. They repaired a small broken section of fence, helped with a few minor extras without nickel-and-diming us, and were very accommodating throughout the entire project. Carlos even allowed us to put a couple of larger household items into their dump trailer while it was on site at no additional charge. He also followed through after the project by registering our GAF warranty and providing the paperwork for our records. We felt very well taken care of from beginning to end and would absolutely recommend Carlos and Higher Levels Roofing.

His communication was outstanding, from bid to work to completion. His crew was experienced and awesome, businesslike but friendly, respectful of our property and efficient. We had come home from a short time away and discovered a leak from a rainstorm, of course right over our bed. We have a large roof but only wanted to repair the large sections where we thought the leak was focused. No problem. Tiles lifted, old paper removed, new paper laid and some previous shabby workmanship dealt with. Also, according to newer code, vents were installed. The work was completed in less than three days, the final bill was within a few dollars of the estimate, and the only reason for that was some material costs which could not have determined before the old paper came off. We have a lot more roof to confront in th3 future and there is no doubt who will be doing the work for us.

Luis communicated well via phone and text, and came out to my house to measure the tree box and provide a quote. He also measured the existing bricks on another tree box in my yard so that he could find bricks to match. On both days of the project, Luis and his coworker showed up on time and did excellent, careful work. I love how they cut the brick into little triangles to make the corners look good. The tree box looks amazing and is a big upgrade from what I had before. The price was exactly as quoted, and Luis gave me a receipt showing the material costs. I highly recommend Luis and Concrete Creations SD and would be happy to work with them again!

He provided the estimate in a timely manner and worked with us to tailor it as we decided what exactly we wanted to do. I believe that the price provided was fair and a good value considering the scope of work. The job ended up including the replacement of a garage side door, major repair of stucco around a new electrical panel (including inside the garage) plus stucco repairs around the entire exterior, repainting of all stucco repairs, and repair and repainting of all wood trim including the new door and the front door. Fred was the project manager/foreman assigned to our project and he was also a consummate professional. He was there daily and took care of supervising the multiple subcontractors who were onsite working as well as doing a lot of work himself. He was very good at keeping me in the loop and went over and above to deliver an excellent job. All the subcontractors were pleasant and were great about cleaning up at the end of each day. There was a lot of work to be done but they started on a Tuesday and were done by the next Tuesday.
