He fixed up or door, tightening the bolts and replaced the wood above the door, making sure it was in good shape before install. They were able to get the job done quickly and efficiently, and they were very customer service oriented. I contacted Joe from Heartland in January of 2022 for the first time. He appeared to be very transparent, knowledgeable, and honest. The company also had the right documentation, reviews, and insurance coverage required to finish the job. I feel like they explained the process extremely well from start to finish. They were also very familiar with the process of working with insurance. The company had a few hiccups with the project, but they handled them graciously and with a strong sense of urgency. For example, there was a delay in getting started because they needed to wait for the insurance company to approve the claim. However, once they got started, they were able to complete the roof installation in a day and they got me on the schedule in only a week's time (despite the overall delays in the industry). In other words, another company may have taken a month to get the project scheduled and materials ordered. They had also got some green skid marks on the driveway from moving the OSB boards, but were out in no time to power wash and scrub the driveway clean. Don was out there on his hands and knees. To me, that is a whole new level of dedication to customer service. Another company may have just snubbed its nose at my concerns and ignored them. Don, the project manager was out several times to make sure the job was done right. He even came back days later to finish painting the inside trim around the skylight. Shannon kept me informed and always was on top of addressing any concerns or needed information. Specifically, Shannon was always quick to respond and always had the answers to my questions. She was a great advocate for me as the customer and helped to keep the project on track (despite those delays because of insurance). I really appreciate all her help in getting the job done. Joe has a lot of experience with this kind of work, and he knows that insurance companies and building departments can be tough to deal with. He was really persistent in advocating for me and trying different approaches. His expertise and problem-solving skills were greatly appreciated. Heartland was also able to upgrade my roof with high-quality class 4 shingles and their team was professional, friendly, and courteous throughout the entire project. They also went above and beyond getting the payout I deserved from my insurance company. The fight dragged on for much longer than it should have, but even the lawyers didn't care to take it on. I can only be eternally grateful for going to bat for the customer and doing what's in their best interest through and through. I thought it was weird Rex Roofing was interested in the job I initiated as a Yelp Project because…read moreI haven't seen anything remotely resembling my 1200sqft 1970 ranch house on their website or socials, and I'm in Longmont while they're based in Castle Rock. Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

After leaving a quick voicemail, Chris returned my call within minutes, and was at my house later that evening. This door is OLD, and the uncommon spring size wasn't something he had on his truck. However, he made sure I could get my car freed from its garage prison. The next morning, Chris's technician Aidan arrived and replaced the spring. He also replaced the rollers and tuned up the system. My door was working again, less than 24 hours later, and is far quieter than before. The whole job cost me less than $1000. I'm still waiting on a call back from Hummel's national brand competitors. Do yourself a favor, and call these local experts! Hummel's will be my first call next time.

Chris and his crew replaced all 5 doors with far better and more attractive ones than we had before, installed new openers in the barn (extremely high ceilings, extremely large and heavy doors -- this was a very challenging project, but they never blinked), and tuned up our existing working openers so they are far quieter than they ever had been. We've had pricey quotes, late arrivals, poor work, a complete lack of communication and pretty much every contractor has left us disappointed. Until now. Logan and his crew were punctual. They measured our yard the SAME DAY when we sent out a request for quote. The quote was e-mailed to us the next day. It was slightly higher than we had hoped for, so we decided to get a couple more quotes to compare. We called two other companies. One took about a week for us to get measured and quoted, while the other took over 3 weeks to even give us a bid. Both of the other bids were about 10-20% more than what FRC quoted us. So we texted Logan back, set up a date for installation and hoped for the best. Logan's crew arrived at 7AM on our scheduled date and worked until early afternoon in the hot Denver sun. Our job ended up taking two days to complete, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. These guys do quality work, are dependable, reasonably priced, honest and all-around fantastic individuals to work with. Heck, they even helped us repair a different section of fence from what they worked on at no extra charge. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. In fact, we wish we had more projects so we could hire them again. One last thing... don't be dismayed by the 1-star reviews they've received. Remember, it takes two to tango. Sometimes a contractor may decide a job doesn't match their skillset, or that the customer isn't a good fit.

I'm very hesitant to tear down locally owned small business (I am one myself) but the only reason I'm giving 1 star is b/c zero is not an option. My wife & I own a nice residential rental property in the Woodmoor HOA (top of the hill off County Line Rd) & just before Christmas 2024 our tenants awakened one morning to a cold house. We've all been there. They called Mtn Creek. Justin came out, diagnosed the problem as being a failed blower motor & needed a new igniter. Ok. He did the work; I was invoiced & paid $2,100. Days later the house is cold again. They called Mtn Creek & were told Justin could come investigate in late January. They called me. It was the coldest week (so far) of the year & I'd just shelled out over 2 grand - waiting 4 weeks for him to stand being his work was unacceptable, so I called personally. This was Tues. They found a hole (allegedly) on the calendar & scheduled him to come the following Friday - over a week & a half later. Fortunately, the house also has a wood-burning stove. The next Friday he was a no call/no show. Multiple calls made by both the tenants & me all went directly to voice mail, which isn't helpful b/c of the "This voice mail box is full" message we get on 100% of calls. I/we call for roughly another week & finally a woman answers. I tell her the situation & she sets an appointment for him to come last Friday (Jan. 3) at noon. At 1:45 I get a call from my tenant informing me Justin has again no call/no showed. They put their day on hold, took time off of work to be there & meet him b/c....its cold outside, and, nothing. We both again begin calling. Again nothing. Finally on one of my calls I get the voicemail lead tone & leave a message. To this very moment there has never been a callback. I can't imagine running a business or treating a customer this way. I now have to call another HVAC company, pay them some yet-to-be-determined amount to come out, diagnose & correct a problem I've already spent $2100 on & endured weeks of unnecessary frustration. All they had to do was a) show up at the appointed time, and/or, pick up the phone, call, and reschedule if necessary. Its an imperfect science, things happen, we all understand that. But its December/January & a house at 7,500 feet. Apologies of the length but this is an unexaggerated accounting of events. I've never met Justin, I don't live in the house, I just pay the bills, & again, I'm really not the type to go off on a negative rant like this, in fact if it were $100 I probably wouldn't bother. But this has been truly atrocious & frankly Justin, I'd appreciate a portion of my money being refunded.
