Art Wickberg, owner and operator of AFterwards Handyman, is the BEST. We were referred to Art when…read morethe company we contacted couldn't do the repair we needed. Art consulted via phone then came and fixed the problem . . . and returned as we progressed in our remodel project to fix many other problems after that! He charges based on the time he spends (and he is very efficient) plus materials - with no mark-up. He also offers a 10% discount to active duty and retired military. He works with homeowners and businesses and is always ready to take on your projects. As he describes his goal: AFterwards Handyman...for all those tasks you don't have the Time, the Tools, the Skill or the Will to accomplish yourself! Art has over 35 years experience and really can do most anything. Here is a brief list of SOME of what he can do. Installation & Repair: Closet organizers, Handrails or grab bars, Child safety latches/covers, Door hardware, Doors, Windows, Cabinet handles/hinges/drawers, Minor plumbing work (faucets, sink installations), Minor electrical work (switches and receptacles), Tile work, Laminate flooring, Storm doors, Ceiling fans & light fixtures, Filters, Caulking (interior, baths and exterior), Hang pictures Drywall: Repair holes; Patch, mud, texture damaged area created by electrical and plumbing work Miscellaneous tasks: Small siding repair, Mend Fences/gates, Assemble "some assembly" items

He assessed the project, discussed what I wanted, made some very helpful suggestion that I hadn't considered, wrote up an estimate, with a range of cost for materials & labor & sent it in an email. No pressure. Very professional & knowledgable. I liked that Art was up front that he had several projects in the queue & that he wouldn't be able to start my project until the following month. He actually called a bit sooner than the month to let me know he had squeezed my project in & would arrive the next Monday. He arrived on time & set to go. The project was completed in record time & is lovely. Art purchased two different latches, asked which I preferred & cleaned up after himself. I would definitely hire him again!

We are very pleased with the two projects that Monte has completed for us. The first was a one day…read morefloor replacement. The second was a full bathroom remodel that required 1 1/2 weeks. In both cases, Monte did an exceptional job. Monte does very professional work, is efficient in getting projects completed in a timely manner, and is able to overcome unexpected complications. Communication was effective, from initial consultation to scheduling, to daily work. His pricing was fair with no unexpected surprises. Previously, we had a shower remodel completed by a firm with that specialty. However Monte's work exceeded that specialty firm at a better price. We will be contacting Monte with our next project.

For us, he filled in a TV niche, retiled our fireplace, installed a new microwave vented externally, and did precise patchwork on our backsplash to make it all fit seamlessly. He estimated the project length perfectly and delivered right on time. His pricing was exceedingly fair, and he was transparent throughout the entire process. After completing that three-day project, I had a small two-hour job come up and didn't hesitate to call him again, he came the next day and handled it just as professionally. I will 100% go to Monte again for any future work, big or small. Highly recommend!

We recently moved to a house that's not been well cared for in the past. Mr. Handyman, specifically…read moreKane, have now spent three days at our house taking care of issues that we either didn't know how to address or didn't have time to address. I can't say enough about the diligence and hard work that Kane has exhibited while helping us out. There hasn't been a single thing that we have asked him to do that he couldn't handle and do very well. I would highly recommend Mr Handyman of Colorado Springs, and ask for Kane!

creating an arched opening. The project started at $4,500, and I paid the required half deposit of…read more$2,250 based on that estimate. During the project, the pricing increased to $5,200, and later to $6,200 after we agreed to round and curve the corners for the arch design, which I accepted. However, after the work was completed, I received billing totaling $8,200. According to the company, part of this increase was due to labor charges for workers returning on different days to complete the same project scope. What began as a $4,500 project escalated to $8,200 without clear justification or consistent communication. The repeated price increases and aggressive handling of billing concerns made this an extremely stressful experience. I made a good faith effort to resolve the matter by paying the agreed total of $6,200 and sending a check for the remaining balance. I also sent certified correspondence and multiple emails requesting confirmation that the check had been received, but I received no response and the check has still not been deposited. The physical work itself was acceptable, but the billing practices, communication issues, and threats of legal proceedings left me extremely disappointed. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company get all pricing clearly fixed in writing before starting any work. Did you like this feature?
