This review would have been worse back then…read more Although the end product turned out well, the construction was to take 3 months to complete and took almost a year. J the boss will blame us but his inability to efficiently manage the project and make us happy throughout the project failed. This all happened because we are experienced with home repairs, etc. and questioned many things. J did not appreciate this and penalized us with delays and more. FYI - J&J has very few employees and hires subs to actual do the work. A few of the subs we had were excellent and some were very unskilled and sub-par. There was a lot of rework because of shoddy workmanship and repairs causing delays. The overall quality of the remodel was good but only because of our oversight. This project was an expensive nightmare for us and we can't provide a favorable review - AVOID THIS CONTRACTOR! P. S. Dan, the on sight construction lead was phenomenal and without his efforts and the contract we signed, J&J would have been fired early into the project.

I had paradise resurface our hardwood floors a few months ago. We chose a much lighter stain than…read morewe previously had as well. Here's how it went: First the good. Communication as to when they would be here was decent and they were dedicated to completing the job in a timely manner. They also did a great Job of keeping the dust down when they sanded. Then the wheels fell off. I was told the process included taking the baseboards off. These were not removed which left some areas where stain was left all over the baseboards and other areas where you can still see the older, darker stain up against the boards. A few times, I brought this up to the worker and they retouched that area, but not all the rest of the areas that had visible dark stain. They were not very discerning or proactive in their quality. Additionally, the Bona Commercial grade HD top sealer was supposed to be the hardest stuff on the market. It's nowhere close. We've had these floors for 11 years and never had any issues with dents, grooves, or gouges until this project. And third, the worker told me I should be able to be on the floors in about 3 hours. So in 6 hours, I started moving furniture back onto the floor and promptly noticed deep grooves and dents from doing so. I will say the original quote said 72 hours. But who thinks to go back to the quote to find this information? So I asked the worker and 3 hours was the answer. Now I have grooves in my floor. When I brought this up to Peter, he got very defensive and out of frustration asked "what do you want me to do?" It's a tough question. Do I go through this painful process again by starting over? Or do I just deal with it? I chose to deal with it. But make sure others who may consider them understand what could happen. In conclusion, I certainly do NOT recommend paradise flooring as they cut corners and misrepresent the quality of their workmanship and materials.

The details: I originally contacted Comfort Restorations as a random third option to obtain a quote for a series of projects we wanted to complete in our home. We had worked with another home renovation company on several occasions and I assumed we would likely stick with who we knew, however, I wanted to do my due diligence as a new homeowner and get the opinions and quotes from several other companies given the likely investment we would be making in a variety of things that needed to be addressed. I didn't know anything about Comfort Restorations outside of what I had read online and had seen on their social media platforms; in hindsight, contacting them was the best decision we could have made. One of the main projects we wanted evaluated were some floorboards in our primary bathroom; they had been sagging since we bought the house and had continued to worsen over the last two years. I was concerned that this may be a sign of mold or significant damage. The other two companies said the project would be easy; they'd replace the floorboards and the supports - both said it was unlikely due to mold damage but wear and tear and slight water exposure. When Karl, the owner and estimator, evaluated the floor he was the only one to accurately indicate we were likely dealing with water damage with a significant possibility of mold and, correctly, recommended that we not initiate any other projects until the floors had been evaluated given the nature of remediation and the unknowns that may be beneath the floor rendering a much bigger project. Karl's honesty, expertise, and direct recommendations to focus on the sagging floor impressed me - the other companies were happy to take our money and do all the other projects at once without any consideration that there may be something bigger and more sinister waiting under the sagging floor. We decided to move forward with Comfort Restorations given this advice and the fact they were the only company concerned about mold. Karl was absolutely right in his initial assessment and in his advice during our consultation. Another complication to this project is that I was already 9 months pregnant when the problem was diagnosed and we started to move forward. The reason I bring this up is because the entire Comfort Restorations team, and their subcontractors, were so kind and considerate given we just welcomed newborn into our home. Mold remediation and construction started about a week after our daughter was born. The entire team really went out of their way to be quiet coming in and out of the house, closing doors to minimize noise, and keeping debris/ naturally occurring construction mess to a minimum so that our newborn, and myself, could rest during these first few weeks of welcoming her home. I know this is a long review but I wanted to really indicate the character of professionals you're getting when choosing Comfort Restorations. The work they completed was fantastic. Our project manager, Brandon, was available to answer any questions or address any concerns that arose during the project and we appreciated his swift communication and compassion. They are a great company full of great people and I'm so happy we stumbled into their care.

He did bring someone with to assist him, which is no problem so I'm not quite sure if the issue is with the original painter or the help. The problem I ran into is I have textured walls so I know they are a little bit more difficult to get a good coverage with paint. However, I had to go back and do quite a few touchups and even now a few months later, I am noticing spots that need to be touched up as well. I did not have this problem with the original first job I had him do. This second job was much bigger. He also did not remove light fixtures or blinds or curtain, rods, etc. like a previous painter had done so now when I have gone to change light fixtures, I now have to repaint the ceiling, etc.. It is unfortunate because I was going to have him paint the outside of my home as well, but with this change in quality, I am concerned. The first job I would give a five out of five the second job I would give a two out of five so well average out for 2.5 He did say when he was finished with the second job if there was any areas I wanted him to touch up, he would return, which I feel is great on his part but I also don't feel like I should have to pay someone to come back to finish their work.

Tim communicated well and followed up quickly when preparing the proposal. We had to wait over the winter for the weather to get warm enough to paint. Once spring arrived, Tim reached out to us to schedule the painting. He worked with us on color choices and did a great job with the replacement of the siding boards. Additionally, he caulked every crevice and crack as part of the 2 weeks of prep work, including correcting a poorly installed front door's issues. Tim came every day the weather allowed and was very clean with the preparation work as well as the painting. We are extremely pleased with the end result! The weather damage has been fixed, the body of the house looks fantastic, and the trim - with updated colors looks great. The clean, straight lines and attention to detail really show in Tim's work.
