This is the 2nd moving company we used to unload with our pods. 1st company sent 3 small people, 2 guys and a girl about the same size as my 14 year old daughter. Charged us $500, broke our railing, couldn't get the stuff up the stairs. Complete disaster. Moving day on the other hand was fabulous! I can't give them a better rating or I would. Bryson and Mike did a tremendous job. Fast, curtious, polite, professional, and knowledgable. The boss should give them a raise. They lined my entire house with blankets, covered the railings, got the furniture located that the other company couldn't get taken care of. They charged me $218. Movers left many things at my ex wife's house. She told them to take everything from my bedroom and office. I had to make 2 trips to get my things and will need at least another 2 trips. Their claim is they took what she said. They just said to call their office. Past experience and other's past experiences is movers will never admit to their mistakes so why bother? read more

I choose this company because of their great reviews. What a mistake! I only needed 3 pieces of furniture moved about 5 miles, but it needed it to be done by a certain date. So I called and was told by John that it would be no problem and we set the date and time The day of the move I called and John said he was glad I called because he was going to cancel because it might snow. ? I have had many deliveries in the snow. (It didn't snow) When I told him that I could not reschedule he said well we'll see. They show up with the three pieces and take two in and tell me they can't get the third piece in because it's too big. It's 31" and the door is 36". It would have to go down a set of stairs. (That's why I hired a moving company) So I'm then told that they can't remove the handrail to take it down the stairs. But, oh yea, you still need to pay the minimum two hour charge. I called John in a panic right before Christmas because my Dad and I tried to move a couch into his 2nd story apartment by ourselves, only to find out it was too heavy for us to do ourselves. I moved Nov 13, 2017 (again...see first review 4/8/2016). I was so overwhelmed I was wiping tears and chugging Starbucks. Then Doc and Blake showed up. They did a walk through with me and then said "Relax, we've got this." And they did. Once again wrapping every antique in moving pads and actually following the instructions on the boxes for room placement and fragile china. Pleasant, professional, athletic, they did the whole day effortlessly - at a run! When you are paying by the hour you notice the rate of work! No slacking, no smoking, this is a Cadillac operation. Had 2 bays of 3 bay garage filled with woodworking shop tools, supplies, and lumber ( from scrap to full plywood sheets), as well as years of household items loose and in containers. All of this had to be moved out and stored while another company came in to raise and level the concrete garage floor. It had settled unevenly due to the ground underneath drying out over the 2+ decades since our house was built. Moving Day arrived a couple of hours ahead of the mudjacking team; loaded everything into their truck and stored it securely overnight. As they finished loading their truck the next crew arrived and set up. The crew returned first thing the next morning and off-loaded everything back into the garage (neater than it was before), just where I directed items to be put. Less than half the time it took them to load everything. I am very pleased with their timeliness, care loading and unloading my possessions, friendliness of the team and the price they quoted/charged for their services. I have no hesitation to recommend Cody, Jaben and Moving Day for this kind of service. They coordinated with the mudjacking team perfectly. read more

I am writing to let you know about our unhappy experience with "the Moving Day" during our move from Monument to Colorado Springs the first week in October. First, he called at 8:30 for a 9:00 arrival, telling us he would be two hours late. For such a big house, that seemed odd. They did not get underway until noon, 3 hours later than promised. Second, John did not plan for our big house. I called and asked him the day before the move about his company's capacity as well as several minor questions about moving the tv and reminding him of the overnight move. He said that he would have to determine whether or not a second truck was needed when he arrived and that he could call for a second truck. Of course on arrival, he needed a second truck. But this truck was with another company who was not told that the truck was needed for storage overnight. So, on arrival, he discovered it could not be used due to the overnight, and John had us rent another truck ourselves from Home Depot. Third, the Home Depot truck cost us about $350. I expected our bill to be reduced by that amount. But, John did not do that, claiming that the rate of $125/hour he quoted was for the labor only. "The truck is free", he claimed. So we paid for two crews' labor, using our rented truck and his free truck for Wednesday through Friday. (Friday might not have been needed if the crew and truck has arrived on time Wednesday and with enough trucks.) John should have clarified this with us up front. The contract My husband signed was vague on the details and not what He understood from his phone conversations with John. Forth, his crew was unprepared. They had no tools. We scrambled through our stuff to even find screw drivers. We weren't advised of this in advance. They did not have enough blankets, tape, shrink wrap, and heavy paper. They used, in part, stuff that they sent me to Home Depot to get. For $100 in my material purchases, he lowered the bill by $20. His crew was polite and cheerful and they worked hard when they had direction. However, since John was the loader/packer, he often did not provide sufficient direction to his crew and they sort of milled around at times. read more

We used Moving Day to move us from Colorado Springs to Monument. We were extremely happy with this move, and especially impressed with how they handled a difficult situation. We would definitely use them again! Here's how our move went. We were expecting two 25-ft trucks and a 6 man crew, but on the morning of the move, John called and informed me only 1 truck/3 man crew would be available. I appreciated the heads up and communication, and I was fine with this as long as they could finish the move that day, which they did. It was also a cheaper rate this way. This was a huge job. We had a pool table, a massage chair, a piano, a huge amount of carpentry equipment, and lots of furniture. I still don't know how they managed to complete this move three men short. The crew was pleasant and did a fantastic job moving all of our things. During the move, someone from the crew knocked over a brand new $1500 piece of computer equipment we left on the counter. At this point, I thought, great, we're out $1500. This sucks. Most moving companies, large or small, would ignore you and not take ownership of the issue. I was surprised to see that John was eager to make this right for us. He called the insurance company, and unfortunately, this item was only covered by weight, which wouldn't even come close to the cost of the item. John instead paid out of his own pocket to rectify the situation. You see someone's true colors in situations like this. John is an honest person with a lot of integrity. You just don't see this type of customer service with moving companies these days! read more

I have used Moving Day for 3 moves in 1 year, and each time, they were supremely efficient, courteous, professional, friendly, timely, and respectful. Not only did they do an EXCELLENT job on each of my moves, they did so at an affordable rate. I had a VERY heavy bed (among other things) that needed to me moved to a 3rd story apartment. They did so, and got my bed up in one piece without a scratch. John (the owner) is wonderful. I couldn't have received better service, even if I had paid 3 or 4 times what I did. Blake and Aaron from Moving Day showed up on time and busted their butts for 9-1/2 hours. They were incredibly careful with all of our items, from our "nice" pieces of furniture, to random boxes that most movers would toss on the truck without a second thought. They blanketed and wrapped our major pieces and moved us into a two story home, placing boxes, chairs, beds in multiple rooms. The owner, John, pictured on his website is quite rude. He was moving someone in across the street from me and had our whole street blocked. I honked asking him to move over and je approached my car with a terrible attitude. He was antagonistic and trying to get me to change my mind about going home. I do understand moving requires large vehicles BUT there was plenty of room for him to park without blocking the entire road. After a small tantrum, he did move his truck so I could get home and is no longer blocking the road. Bad attitude. read more

Worst moving experience. Left hand didn't know what right hand was doing. Rude supervisor, over priced, charged for time, crew went to store and then showed up late. Broke, scrached items. Not worth their exorbitant price. If you have furniture from American furniture warehouse, they would be ok for you, not fine furniture. Did you know? If your items are being placed in a storage unit, you have ZERO time to assess any damage and report it to your movers? If you didn't report the damage on that day, the moving company is not responsible for damage that occurred during the move. If you want to be certain they have not destroyed your stainless steel french door refrigerator by pushing it out of your home using brute force instead of taking the time to remove the fridge doors, and later use a packing blanket and a massive amount of tape to contain the million shards of what used to be a full length, beautifully framed mirror (I had 2, but they didn't wrap the second one), and breaking off the foot of your oak buffet, Yes - as inconvenient as it may seem, you must follow their every move and watch every thing they do. Take pictures of your items before movers touch them, watch them as they take it out your door. Then RUN outside of your home and inspect each item before they quickly wrap it in plastic wrap to conceal any damage done and before it goes onto the truck. But wait - there's more! When they take the items out of the truck, stand right there and make them unwrap each item so you can determine if any damage was done (don't forget that you can compare it to your earlier picture), and report it right there and then, and begin your list. It had been years since I moved and I ignorantly assumed as professional movers, I would not need to do that. Now picture yourself in your new home, spending time and money calling furniture repair companies, because you did not see the damage done between your front door and the truck and from the truck to the storage unit. Plastic wrap and blankets hides a lot of damage, and when their work is done and you sign on the dotted line, you have agreed to 'The End', the end of their responsibility. Why are these helpful tips being placed on the review for "Moving Day" moving company? I'll let you guess the answer. PS: It should be noted that all employees were kind and courteous and the Manager offered $100 to offset the $750 towards replacing fridge doors. read more
