I unfortunately contracted with Apex and almost 10 months later I still have an improperly installed roof. A roof has two parts - the underlayment and then the shingles. On my property AND my neighbor's (we share a duplex) the underlayment was not installed to manufacturer's specifications . This decreases the strength and life of the roof. This issue was discussed with Apex Roofing Management but they won't even return phone calls and will not discuss this issue. Furthermore, the roof failed inspection and The Denver Roofing Inspector can't actually see all the issues with a roof installation. Lastly, the mostly unsupervised workers damaged my property. Apex staff twice stated they would come out to fix these issues but, nope, never did. So now I'm left with a improperly installed roof with a significantly decreased life span and decreased strength. Please learn from my dreadful experience with this company.

Dave did 99% of the work with State Farm and got our roof and a few out buildings 100% covered with 0 headache for us (after SF told us the damage was less than the deductible so we might as well not even file a claim). His crew came when expected, worked longer than expected because of some unexpected findings (taken care of at no additional charge to us), and did an amazing clean up. You will be happy!

I was still traumatized by the fierceness of this storm and the extensive damage to all my new and existing gardens, and vowed not to use any contractor who used these tactics. The phone onslaught continued for weeks, supplemented by my doorbell being run on an almost daily basis. Early on, a friend who knew what I had been through recommended a roofing contractor she had used - Tom Krause at Advanced Construction Roofing (ACR) - and since he was NOT one of the ones who was badgering me, I contacted him to come out and take a look at the damage - but only after I had a chance to come to terms with the emotional aspect of the damage to my property. Tom was prompt and courteous and very respectful of my wishes, and worked with me over the summer to get the most complete compensation from my insurance company and recommend where best to spend that claim money. I ended up with an impact resistant roof, which lowered my insurance costs and increased my property value, and also replaced all of my gutters (instead of the few that the insurance company allowed), for just a very nominal investment on my part. I decided to wait until late fall to actually do the work to minimize the risk of another storm and another claim at my high deductible, and Tom never bothered me about that decision and came out numerous times, and personally oversaw the work, cleanup and inspection that followed. He even went out of his way to replace a screen that was not part of the hail damage that was tricky to fit and required several back and forth trips with the window company. I would highly recommend Tom and ACR. Top notch work and communication throughout the project.

They kept raislong the prices, getting more and more from the insurance company and ultimately the total was three times more than the original estimate. They charged me for things they didn't even do. The ridge was crooked and on a 25 yr old roof, they didn't replace any of the plywood so the rug was wavy. The gutters overflowed with the first rain because they were filled with debris. Ultimately my insurance company paid but then cancelled my policy. ACR is actually in Littleton and not Lodo. Steer clear and save the huge headache. Happy to answer questions but want to save you from the same pain and suffering and terrible news roof that I experienced.

A couple of other roofers took a look and felt that it was a 50% chance to have our insurance cover it. Alex, Altitude Contracting, also thought it was about a 50% chance to have a successful insurance claim , but he said it was worth trying. We were initially turned down, but with a little prodding by Alex, the insurance company changed their mind and honored a full roof replacement. The rest of the process went very smoothly: HOA approval, Building Permit, shingle selection, additional changes, etc. The roofers were pleasant to work with. Very hard workers. They cleaned up every afternoon and upon completion left the area free of debris (nails). Communication from Alex throughout the process was exceptional. Would we use Altitude again? Yes we would.

Communicating with Christian was a breeze, he was easy to talk to, responsive, professional and truly cares about what you are conveying. Because I am a retired engineer I had to stick my nose into everything... From the beginning he brought in professionals from the Architect, Structural Engineers to the finishing Carpenter and Painter, each step was amazing and all within budget. The cadre of subcontractors hired by Burger Brothers had to meet a high standard of professionalism and produce a high quality product, they were all wonderful to work with. Of note, was the daily cleanup, the care taken and the security to the existing area, especially working in the midst of a pandemic!
