When the technician arrived, I pointed out that the cable tension on that side seemed different from the other side. He spent about 30 minutes trying to fix it, but I could not stay with him the entire time, so I'm not sure what was actually done. In the end, he told me, "this is the best I can do" and that "it's just an old door." He also suggested replacing the doors. I paid $221 for this visit and was left with the same problem. That was extremely frustrating. I later fixed the issue myself. It turned out that the cable drum on one side had lost its grip on the torsion bar. The replacement part cost about $20, and after watching a few YouTube videos and spending about an hour, I was able to fix the issue. What bothers me most is that this seems like something an experienced garage door technician should have been able to diagnose. Instead, I was told it was just an old door and was pushed toward replacement

There was excellent communication with dispatch and my technician. Daniel came out and assessed the door. He was able to put new rollers in and do a tune-up of the door in 30 minutes. He advised a possible need for a torsion spring depending on use. He answered all of my questions. Based on usage and age of house, I did end up making the decision to get a new one.
