Had a pleasant experience overall. The food was flavorful, portions were satisfying, and the staff were friendly. Service could have been a little quicker, but everything else felt enjoyable. read more

This place is top notch!!! I asked a fellow passenger upon landing in Calgary to recommend his favorite non-chain restaurants. This was one of his three and after trying all three, this one is top top top! Nice, cozy space. Knowledgeable and friendly waitress who was attentive and gave some recommendations on places for us to visit in Canmore. But most importantly, what great food! This is now in our top 20 restaurants of all time. Wow, the balance and creativity of flavors as well as appearance. Everything was tasty but the star of the show was the scallops and pork belly. Definitely will return when we travel back to this area. read more

We really enjoyed our meal and conversation with our server, super nice guy! What we ordered: - shrimp toast: this was tasty, I'm a huge fan of shrimp paired with cocktail sauce, so yummy! My bf on the other hand isn't into sauces lol, so this one scored lower on his chart - rigatoni: for being such a simple dish, it is very delicious! Loved the mini basil in the dish, I do wish it had a little bit more chili oil or some chili flakes on it. Besides that, solid dish - pork belly and scallops: wow. I couldn't believe that all these ingredients worked so well together!! Also, we were very impressed at how well the proteins were cooked. Usually scallops are overcooked and sometimes pork belly can be chewy. This was not the case at all! The truffle mash, kale, and the maple syrup sauce didn't overpower the proteins, but made them stand out. If you come to Pat & Betty's, it's a must try! - P&B carrot cake: oh boy, it was much bigger than expected LOL. A stunning dessert that towers over our other food haha, it wasn't too sweet and had orange zest in the frosting that made me want to eat more. It also came with a delicious purée, but I forgot what was in it. Also a must get! If we're ever in Calgary again, I would love to come back here :) 10/10 would recommend read more

We had a nice dinner here but our expectations were so high that's I feel like the experience fell just a bit flat for that reason. The draft lychee martinis were just okay. We got the cauliflower to start and it was actually really good, the sauce it came with was delicious. The rigatoni was nothing special and if anything tasted a bit dry, like maybe it had been standing out for 10-15 min before it was served. We did really enjoy the chicken supreme though, would reorder that. Interior was super cute. Overall a pretty decent meal but not sure if I would run back read more

Oh my goodness their dessert is FANTASTIC! Especially their carrot cake. If you are not hungry and just want a good dessert restaurant that is open in the evening Pat and Betty is the best place to go! We tried their cookies and well and I think they have 1 more item but the carrot cake is gigantic, most and tasty! The other dishes are good too especially their pasta. However, make sure you save your appetite for dessert! :) read more

We had dinner at Pat & Betty on our first night in Calgary, and it was a great start to our trip. Our waitress was extremely friendly and sweet. The restaurant has a nice covered patio area, making it a great place to eat with our dog. The food was phenomenal! We ordered three dishes and were completely stuffed after dinner. Every dish was cooked perfectly, with well-balanced flavors and perfect seasoning. Every dish was 10/10! Highly highly recommend Humbolt Squid Rigatoni Pork & Scallops read more

We really enjoyed our time at Pat and Betty and will be back! The staff was super kind and considerate of allergies and making accommodations, vibes were great although in winter in the patio area it is hard to balance heat from the heaters with the cold from outside so I'd suggest wearing something light underneath a jacket so you can stay comfortable no matter the temperature. We tried the fingerling potatoes, the pork and scallops, the rigatoni, and the milk and cookies. All were excellent! Thank you Pat and Betty team and see you again soon hopefully! read more

Food/Ambiance/Service Great food - ode to my Dad & Mom (Betty & Pat). Had to go for the namesake. Hidden small gem. Really unique - open kitchen. Sat at the bar, seating upstairs & down was nice/intimate. Glad we experienced - worth a visit!!! read more

What an absolutely wonderful experience my boyfriend and I had at Pat and Betty's. The ambiance is so uniquely contemporary and authentic - old school rap in an Italian restaurant. read more

In Calgary for the lovely K's Christmas party we decided to make a weekend of it in Cowtown's frigid -20 Celsius and colder weather. Pat & Betty's warm and dark decor was perfect for the cold evening outside. We got there quite late, due to travel delays which scuttled our original plans. We couldn't have stumbled upon a better place to enjoy some late evening fare! We arrived an hour and a bit prior to closing, but enjoyed a leisurely dining experience that will certainly have us visiting again. The service and food were top notch! Our server was knowledgeable about the food and helped us navigate the menu to our delight. The martini to start was a great choice after a six hour flying experience from YVR. Everything after that was no less than exceptional, from the caviar topped oyster, to the pâté, the arancini, and finishing with the foie gras. We can only thank the staff and direction of the business, for making an otherwise forgettable day of travel, a great dining experience. read more

The food is quite good but the scant portions were disappointing for what's supposed to be (and priced as) "shareable". Service excellent with very well-trained and friendly staff. Decor a bit odd, not sure what the theme is here...also, a little disconcerting to have wine glasses teetering overhead. Ambience was dominated by the very high noise level (nothing in the room to deaden the sound) made worse by loud music. Hard to have a nice conversation with dinner date when you can't hear each other. read more

Atmosphere is fun. We were able to try many different dishes here and some that were 100% worth coming back for was the: Pork belly and scallops (ask for extra potato purée) everything about this dish is perfection!!! The fois gras is one or the best I've had in Calgary especially with their berry sauce it cuts through that fat Some of the improvements I would like to see is: Their baked oysters tasted like those frozen mini pepperoni pizzas because they put bell peppers and pepperoni on it (weird combo) Their pasta was on the harder side and not al dente. But the sauce was great The lobster was undercooked for us so it was not worth the money. The burrata and olives they used a very hard baguette type of bread that would almost break anyones veneers. It was quite burnt and very hard. read more

Oh my! I am going to be dreaming of this meal! We were in town after a week in Banff and were a walk in The yellow beet salad was amazing. The combination of flavors of the beets, pickled onions, marscapone cheese and pistachios. So good. The vodka penne with barrata was spicy but the cheese melted into the sauce. Chicken thighs were melt in your mouth. This place is a hidden gem read more

First time in Calgary and we mostly stayed on 8th Ave restaurant row, but we tried Pat and Betty on our last nite in Calgary and were very glad we did. The staff was very good and attentive, we didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us on the patio area which was nice. Justin our waiter was good and very helpful and helped us choose a nice Cabernet. We had the olives to start along with and old fashion and Manhattan which were good. We split the pappardell and steak picanha which were both verrrrrry good. We finished with cookies and milk dessert along with an espresso which finished the nite. The menu is small but offers a wide variety that should satisfy any palette. I highly recommend Pat and Betty. read more

I really don't mean to seem ungrateful but this feels like an unfair exchange between my card and quality food. I purchased their seafood lasagna and it was very underwhelming, the smallest portion and I didn't even finish it. Kinda feel like I've been bamboozled. Ambiance is cool, and the staff is moderately friendly, (that's the only reason I don't just rate this a single star) but the quality of food based off the meal I just had is far below its price point. Maybe they've got other things on the menu worth trying, but the seafood lasagna is not one of them. read more

Ok this place is amazing! Foood was incredible, Parpadelle with roasted mushrooms and the picanah steak with peppercorn sauce was to die for!! Milk and cookies for dessert, yesssss was delicious! The food is great here. Seemingly fitting with the way of the world now; all of the items are served share plate style. The double pork chop is not to be missed, nor are the carrots and the special scallop dish we had was excellent as well. Honestly, other than the parking, this place is absolutely fantastic for large groups of people to get together, or smaller intimate occasions. read more

Really cute little place! Reminds me of Paris. They are very accommodating & flexible. The food was absolutely fantastic & Justin was very knowledgeable! Asked to be seated on the patio & they were very happy & willing to move us. The place is very noisy though but given that it's small. read more

Very good food and atmosphere. The service was very nice and they always asked me if i needed anything.

everything about dinner was amazing. We had marinated olives, roasted asparagus with a flavorful bernaise, and cod over crunchy potatoes. But the best thing was the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Quick and friendly service too. read more

Amazing!! Such a great atmosphere. Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu & happy to help us out with our choices. It was definitely hard to narrow down what to get. We decided on oysters, shrimp scampi, asparagus and the pork belly & scallops. Everything blew us away!! It's definitely more on the pricey side, so for us it's a special occasion night out read more

I've probably had 10 different dishes, and not a single one was less than stellar. Such rich flavours. Great ambience and service too.

We had dinner last night at Pat and Betty and it was wonderful. We are repeat customers and it is always great but unlike a lot of restaurants Pat and Betty just gets better and better. Justin is a super entertaining server, the food is delicious and well thought out and perfect for sharing, prices are fair and the atmosphere is very alive. We highly recommend Pat and Betty to anyone looking for a great night out! read more

Warm olives with a glass of red. Stopped in for a quick try and love the place. We weren't there for dinner so just had a glass of wine and the warm olives, both were delicious. I was jealous of the people at the bar. Why, because it was full and that is where we like to hang out. Great vibe, we will be back for sure. read more

Great food, great ambiance, great service. Would recommend if you're looking for a date night or dinner with friends or work colleagues.

Crab arancini - no crab, seriously none. Pasta - Super al dente, like really hard. Over salted, really really salty. Overall - Menu looks amazing, but they fail to execute / deliver on the promise. Most dishes we had felt underwhelming... I am happy to pay more to enjoy what is promised, but I felt like I payed for things that were not provided, like crab free crab arancini, but that is just an example. Save your money and go to somewhere like Bridgette Bar. read more
