Tried out NOtaBLE The Restaurant on a busy Sunday evening. It's very spacious inside. Their sister restaurant to The Nash Restaurant & Off Cut Bar. Service was okay but slow. - Chili coconut margarita ($19.00) - 14oz rib eye ($84.00) - requested medium rare and gratin potato ($4.00 extra). Gratin potato was nicely done. Steak was good but not worth the price point - Wild mushrooms ($20.00) - tasty but pricey - 2x YYC prix fixe ($85.00 each) - ahi tuna tartare, embered oysters, beef short rib, arctic char, roast garlic mashed potatoes, beets, broccolini, almond financier cake with salted caramel ice cream. Both meats were a touch overcooked. Mashed potatoes and oysters were enjoyable - Warm chocolate pudding ($14.00) - rich 3.5 stars. read more

I went with my daughter upon a recommendation from a staff member at our hotel accommodation. We were a bit underdressed and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. The restaurant is beautiful, sophisticated and looked perfect for a date night. We started with grilled bread with garlic confit. It may have looked a bit sad on the plate but was delicious. I had the Alberta Beef Burger and opted for a salad. Both were good; the burger was a bit over cooked and over salted to my taste but the salad was deliciously dressed and had the surprise of pickled onion. My daughter had the smoked salmon with capers and she ate the entire meal minus the capers. It also was wine Wednesday where I indulged myself in drinking an entire bottle of wine at half price. Don't worry we walked from our hotel. Our server had quite a few tables and still made us feel well handled. She was great. read more

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I was taken here for dinner by an old friend, who lives in Calgary. Being from the US and not knowing what to expect, I was not sure whether my friend's choice would be suitable for my dietary preferences: I am a pescatarian. I had heard that this restaurant is known for its chicken preparations. But our meals could not have been better. There were three of us at that table. Two of us got salmon and one of us got black cod. We were very happy with our meals. Also the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is elegant. Do not hesitate to try this fine restaurant, regardless of your preferences. The menu covers all the bases, and the wine list is well chosen. If I have occasion to return to Calgary one day, I will also return to this restaurant. read more

It has been a few years since we visited NOtaBLE because of the pandemic. It was nice to be back at the bar for a glass of wine and light dinner. The Happy Hour is fantastic for wine. All wines were $8 a glass and a healthy pour at that. For dinner we both had a Greek Salad and it was fresh and flavourful. Exactly what we wanted. The reason I love Notable is you can pop in for a just a glass of wine or go for a full dinner. The service is the same, it is excellent. read more

Went to Calgary on business and someone recommended NOtaBLE when I said I like to eat farm-to-table, nutrient rich food. Arrived starving because it was 6 pm and I only had a light breakfast that day. The location threw me off a little but as soon as I stepped in the vibe changed... in a good way. I loved seating close to the grill and feel the heat of the flames and the completely open kitchen. Dining alone can be boring but not at this place! I ordered a Lemon Drop and it was good, not the best I ever had but nicely balanced. I had trouble deciding wether to have a beef entree or the salmon. I learned that even though the salmon they use is raised, it is local and raised with room to swim in a natural environment. I decided to have the salmon mostly because the other ingredients and interesting flavors caught my attention. My fish came super quickly and it was very nicely presented! but the flavor of the various ingredients was underwhelming. It was much lighter and bland that I imagined it would be when I read the menu. Don't get me wrong, It was good, just not as flavorful as I thought it would be. So clearly, and for all of the above, I had to order dessert, (and if you order dessert, you need coffee too). Mr. Warm Chocolate Pudding with salted caramel ice cream had me at "warm"... no brainer. And this time there was no lack of flavor. The thing was pretty big, and rich, and fluffy with gooey yumminess in the middle, and sinful and delicious, and I may have cleaned the plate. And this may have ended my no-sugar hiatus but who cares! The service was OUTSTANDING! Yeah, you know... Canadians are so ridiculously nice! Cliche but true. read more

I picked up an order for takeout as we were leaving Calgary on a lengthy road trip. I was quite surprised and frustrated that the order was incorrect, no utensils were provided. No condiments were provided. I was told all of this had to be requested however, it had been requested. This was all after paying for my order ($175), leaving a tip of 10%, even though the tip prompt suggested a far greater percentage. The food was excellent. My son said it was the best burger he's ever had. My chicken salad was delicious. I just don't understand - tipping on takeout - what amount, who does it go to, for what exactly? read more

We have had great dining experiences at Notable either for lunch or for dinner. We love their beef burgers and signature rotisserie chicken for lunch. We've also had their duck breast and bison flank for dinner, both are delightfully delicious! Came here for one of my co-workers birthday lunch. One of the guys from the group suggested to get the brisket sandwich and I'm so glad I ordered it. It was very good! Service was good and food was tasty. The restaurant looks modern and it has a good atmosphere. You won't get anything cheap here, but the food is good. Wow. Fantastic food. Exceptional service. First visit and restaurant has exceeded in all departments. Ordered for appetizers the potato spring rolls and sweet soy chicken wings. Both unreal and delicious. Wife's entree was strip loin with vegetables and fries. My entree was pork tenderloin with risotto. Both were large portions and top notch. Finally ended dinner with creme brûlée with two mini donuts. Again fantastic restaurants with one of my best service experiences in Calgary. This might seem excessive but the 5 stars is for the carrot cake alone. Some of the key things that make a carrot cake for me are cream cheese frosting and perfect size/texture of carrot bits in the cake. But this cake was was exceptional in it's own regard for it was dense like a typical carrot cake, but was so moist and melted into a custard in my mouth with only a few chews, it was served hot which is unusual for carrot cake, no cream cheese frosting and the carrots bits could not be felt by the bite but definitely resonated carrot. It was so odd and so untypical of a carrot cake but blew it out of the ballpark for me. As for the rest of the restaurant, loved the open kitchen but also had a heavy smokiness to the air inside the restaurant which I was a bit sensitive to. We had.... Half roasted chicken: really moist and didnt take 45 min to prepare like when you order bone in chicken dishes. The buttermilk mashed potatoes were so creamy and lovely. Salmon burger: clearly made from real salmon because of the chunky texture. The bread was nicely grilled and the sauce was mildly spicy which was a good balance with the sweet mango slaw. Side note - I did ask for no peanuts in this dish because I am allergic but it came with peanuts anyway. They quickly remade this dish and brought it out so that my husband and I could eat our meals at the same time. Hotel Nacional: really nice drink with apricot liqueur. Very nice flavor and good balance of liquor and syrup. Grapefruit Swizzle: tasted a lot like grapefruit...not artificial tasting at all! Service: was average. Waitress seemed uninterested in friendly chit chat but was still pleasant and fixed my peanut issue quickly and was very apologetic. Must try (if not obvious!) - CARROT CAKE! We have been to NoTable a dozen or more times since moving to Calgary in 2005. We made a reservation for our 17th wedding anniversary. We sat down, ordered drinks, and began to look at the condensed post-covid menu. We were so disappointed with the limited selection, the huge increase in price. My favourite appetizer, crispy potato rolls, had disappeared, and my husbands favourite, the mussels, had changed from an appetizer to an entree for almost double the price. We were shocked and disappointed. We informed our waitress we were leaving, and left for The Keg to continue our celebration. After 15 years of bringing family and friends to this restaurant and coming for special occasions, we have decided we will probably not return. read more

Notable just made my list for highly recommended dining experiences in Calgary. Everything from the nice greetings at the entrance, the vibin dining space and cool servers, and eclectic Canadian menu options motivated me to leave a review. For starters, the crispy smoked pork potato rolls were as amazing as they sound, and the seasoning of the gaufrette potatoes was evidently addictive as our table polished off the well portioned steak tartare. My half chicken was maybe a tad dry on the breast side- that's just me being picky- but overall flavor was excellent and I'm genuinely still thinking about that mashed potato bed it was served with. I didn't partake in the Banoffee dessert but my friends loved the graham cracker ice cream altho commented that the chocolate ganache seemed more for decoration as the taste was underwhelming. Next time if I have room I know I'll try their cheesecake which I read good things about. Thanks for a great night out and it was nice to support local! Last point: The entire street is free 2 hour parking ftw. read more

Wonderful dining experience, and nice little surprise. Tucked away in Bowness, but the outside didn't particularly strike as unfitting, yet the inside is gorgeous. Definately has the new vintage contemporary feel, with the upcycled brassy tables, glass overhead lamps. Mix crowd of casual and dressy on this busy Saturday night but overall really relaxed. Be sure to make reservations as it does get quite busy. The food? Amazing. Attention to detail, tastes, textures are impeccable. The crab and shrimp dip is a MUST try, absolutely taaaasty. The thai style mussels were spot on. My halibut was juicy to the last bite, the lamp leg was soft and tender. I managed to mangle a peice of steak off someone's plate and that was equally impressive. Just wait- I haven't even gotten to dessert. My only irk here is that our waiter neglected to inform us that the iced tea is brewed in house, and is comparable to sugarless crystal light. Yeh, someone should call Nestle and tell them Noteables is stealing their stuff. But DESSERT made the WHOLE experience. It was an experience for the eyes, the stomach, and the soul. Chocolate hazelnut brulee? 8 stars. Lemon meringue pie? 10 stars and the entire milky way. The lemon bits were just the right amount of tarte, and the meringue instantly became creamy to the tongue but held its form on the pie. Now THAT is a lemon meringue pie. I went to NOtaBLE with my mom and girlfriend when my mom was visiting Calgary. Based on the reviews and comments from friends we were expecting a great dinner. Well it didn't disappoint. Everything from the atmosphere to the food was wonderful. For an appetizer we ordered the Foie Gras and Chicken Liver Pate, it was delicious and very rich. For the main course I ordered the Icelandic Cod, my mom had the Rotisserie Chicken, and my girlfriend ordered the Bison Burger. It was all delicious but I think the Icelandic Cod was easily the winner out of the bunch. When we sat down we were kind of sandwiched in between some very loud tables, which is to be expected there because it seemed to be bumping all the time. Upon request the waitress promptly moved us to a quieter table that had just become available. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of the food because I was far too hungry and completely forgot.
