Mentioned it to our server and he blamed it on the kitchen- no apology or effort to salvage customer satisfaction at all. I've been a server ...that's a rookie mistake. Burgers just ok, the buns were cold and patties were smaller than the bun. For $20, I think it's reasonable to expect the patty at least the same diameter as the bun. Ok place but next time I'm craving a pricey burger, there are definitely other options.

Our waitressed took it to be cooked more (she was great). At least half of the steak was sent back to be cooked more. Of course they took the onion jam and herb butter off to cook the steak. And when it was brought back there was no Onion jam or butter on the steak I'm still undercooked.. Very very disappointing for a $34 dollar steak.

A True Gem Behind the Bar…read more I cannot say enough great things about Stacey at John Henry's Pub in Okotoks AB! She is, hands down, the best bartender I've ever encountered. From the moment you step in, she greets you with a warm smile and somehow remembers everyone's name and drink of choice--it's truly impressive. Her ability to connect with customers is unmatched. She's approachable, friendly, and makes everyone feel at home. Beyond that, she has a natural charisma and leadership presence that commands the room in the best way possible. You can tell she genuinely cares about the customers and the business, making every visit feel special. Her employers are incredibly fortunate to have someone as dedicated and skilled as her on their team. If you're looking for excellent service, Stacey is the reason to stop by John Henry's Pub. She's truly one of a kind!

John Henry's is a very small pub located up in the Drake Landing strip mall just behind the 7 Eleven. It is a unique pub in that it allows you to order pizzas and food from the Tom's House of Pizza which it shares the building with. There are quite a few TV's in the pub which are usually playing various sporting events. They have a full bar and a bartender who knows what they're doing. Overall John Henry's is not a bad place to grab a beer, but it is not really anything special either.

I got the hot wings with the Hot Honey and they were probably the best wings I have ever had. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. This place has an old hotel above it, and we were sad that we weren't staying the night for the experience as it looks like it's from the old west days. Definitely will come back if I am ever driving through!

Wow! Talk about a face lift…read more The Royal Duke used to be the Willy Pub & Inn... bye bye Willy... Helloooooo Duke! The big reno happened early this year and they've been open since August. First impression is a 10 out of 10. What a beautiful reno. The ownership is brand new as well and quite often you'll see them (Guy & Barry) walking about, serving customers and making sure all is well. My wife went out for dinner last night and seeing that we live in south Calgary, why not head to Okotoks and check out the Royal Duke. The menu is pretty nice - a little bit of everything. We chose the 8oz NY Steak sandwich which did not disappoint. It was a Sunday night so things were quite quiet but I've been in there for lunch as well and it's quite a popular place to be. The service was great - Melissa was our server, very personable and really knowledgable about the different drinks on tap. There's loads of room, a billiards room with two tables, lots of TVs and sports to watch, very bright lighting and a private room with VLTs. Probably what really blows me away about this place is that I can bring my kids who are both under 5 years. Much like the UK where kids can go to the pub with mum & dad, it's the same here. Kids are welcome with parents up to 8:00pm So there you go. Check it out. Great atmosphere, lighting, decor, and very nice food! I'll be back!

Hardwood floors that look like they've been there a while. The menu written on blackboards. Old battered brass instruments and trophies adorn the forest green walls. A cozy fireplace flanked by cushy chairs. A small stage with a piano, sax and guitar that anyone can play, providing that an act hasn't been booked. I've been there on three occasions. When I attended a reunion there, we ate lots of appetizers. The chicken wings had a good kick to them. The ribs were sticky but good and the rest of the stuff is standard fare. Well done, but standard to what you'd get in a pub. Big hearty servings though - bigger than what you'd get in the city. The desserts were heavenly! Dark chocolate cake...moist and rich! Fantastic lunches. The soups are freshly made and very filling. A good selection of beer, respectable selection of wine and some funky fancy coffees! Try the Raspberry Delight (at least I think that's what it was called. Or perhaps it was Raspberry Drizzle). Or, try the Turtles one. Scrumptious. Toothsome. Yummy! Staff is friendly, quick and efficient. I've yet to go when there's live music but I've noticed that they've been bringing in some good local talent and there's usually a good number of cars by Carlson's whenever I'm in the area. I have tried playing the piano. It's one of those old honky-tonk type pianos that go out of tune immediately after tuning. I wouldn't dare try the guitar or sax. They'd probably kick me out.
