    Amazing Sandwich
    Martin S.

Had an Italian Hero hooked by Joe (owner). It was exceptional, I traveled from Brooklyn and absolutely worth it. Obviously you have to try the "duh" ravioli, hands down the best in NYC. You will not be disappointed!!!!!

Prosciutto, soppressata, hot cappicola, Genoa salami, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, balsamic on a semolina hero.

If your in the area and in the mood for a hero or sandwitch this is the place to go!!! Best gabbaghoul around , found this place when I was in the area for work , stopped in and asked for an Italian hero and it was simply amazing , the bread was delicious , so soft and they weren't shy about the meat on the hero. Took home some homemade ravioli and they were also amazing. Just realized I was working close to this location again today and stopped in for a sandwitch again and it was just as good as the first time. I got hot cappacola, soppressata, Genoa salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and balsamic dressing !!!!!!!! How ya doin

    Simply amazing

This is one of the best Pastosa stores I've been to. Everything is freshly made and authentically Italian. Very large store with so many great treasures. Large selection of Gluten Free pasta's and pizza crusts. Very friendly service and very knowledgeable about their products. Quick service and CASH only. They have an ATM in store if you run short. Fresh Mozzarella is so delicious as well as the smoked Mozz. This store rocks and the prices are cheaper than many other Italian specialty stores and quality is much better than most. Ciao

    Yummy!

A must visit!! They have so many fresh super tasty real Italian foods here, you'll spend all your money and be so happy you did! I got the manicotti, incredible meat sauce with yes real meat in it, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and while was waiting for it to bake I ate the rice balls I got from there and I'm so mad at myself for not buying more than 2! (I'll be back real soon)

Their ravioli are outstanding, once you've had them, you'll find yourself walking right past the refrigerator case at your local supermarket. They also prepare a wide range of Italian specialties, including eggplant parmigiana and rollatini, along with lasagna and a variety of chicken and veal dishes. While I tend to gravitate toward certain favorites, the overall quality and care are evident throughout. Go early, especially around the holidays, as it can get quite busy. And don't miss the ravioli, along with their other fresh pastas like cavatelli and rigatoni. They also offer a great selection of specialty pastas in frozen form, which are well worth having on hand. Durso's is not inexpensive, but as I always say, you get what you pay for, and everything here reflects top-quality ingredients and craftsmanship.

They started us with some bread and marinara sauce and the sauce definitely opened up our appetite and had us anticipating of what's to come. Then the to-die-for appetizer came, the mushroom ricotta cheese thinging it's sooooooooooooooooooo freaking delicious!!!!! I can't explain it, you'll have to put that cheese on the baked bread, then eat it together with the mushrooms to experience what we experienced.... Soooo good!! And we also had a bowl of meatballs lol it was good~ but nothing to write home about. Now for the Pastas, I got their signature Fuzi folding noodles with veal sauce and my daughter got the rigatoni à la vodka. They were both great!!! Their pasta has great texture with a fantastic clean taste and the sauce were subtle, fragrant and delicious. Not heavy and sweet like some of those normal Italian restaurants, this is definitely an A tier restaurant hidden in a local community. I would come here at least once a week from now on. There are tons of new additions, and I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest. A lot of the new items lean toward seafood, while others feature familiar proteins paired with fresh, updated sides. Kudos to the Lena's team for keeping things exciting while staying true to the vibe. Here's what I tried: Korean short ribs- Pickled Radishes, Spring Onions Jonah Crab Lettuce Wraps- Boston Lettuce, Housemade Remoulade Tartare, Chives New Mussels Dish- Pepperoncini, Chorizo, Prosecco, Saffron Tomato Broth, Sourdough Croutons Octopus- Patatas Bravas, Kalamata Olives, Salsa Verde, Paprika The short ribs were excellent. They're tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The pickled radish cuts through the richness of the marinade and really brings the dish together. A great, shareable plate that feels perfect for the warmer months. The crab lettuce wraps were incredibly light and fresh. Honestly, if I had my eyes closed, I'd think I was sitting somewhere on a beach. Bright, clean flavors along the sweet crab, perfection. The new mussels were outstanding. The chorizo and pepperoncini add depth and a little kick to that saffron tomato broth, and everything works beautifully together. The mussels were plump and perfectly cooked. I like that they still offer the classic white wine version, but this one feels like a great elevated option. The octopus was good, though not the best I've had. The flavors and accompaniments were really strong, but I personally prefer a more tender texture. It could have used a bit more time to get to that fork-tender consistency with a nice char on the outside. That said, I'd still order it again. This was just round one of trying the new menu, and I already have my next visit planned: the brick oven-roasted whole branzino and the tomahawk pork chop with roasted pepper pizzaiola sauce.

Walking in, there is a decent amount of seating and you can see them making the food fresh in front of you. I do like how small the menu is - small menu generally menus fresher food. I don't really eat dairy so just ordered the fettuccine without cheese and then chose the arrabbiata sauce. I wish they gave me a heads up about how spicy the sauce would be - my mouth was legit on fire. Food wise - I didn't love the portion sizes, I was definitely hungry after it was over and felt the texture of the pasta was softer than I'd like - probably because it's fresh. Even though I was burned this time (literally with the spice), I'd be down to come back and try another one of their sauces and even be more open minded about adding dairy since it seems like one of their specialties!
