When I tried to order online through their website beforehand, the estimated wait was nearly 2.5 hours. However, when I placed my order in person, the total wait was only 15 minutes! I picked up my order of ziti with sausage and truffle sauce, and it was some of the best pasta I've ever had. I also ordered a side of garlic bread with pepperoni spread--that unique combination was absolute magic and totally addictive! There is ample parking next to the building in the lot and on the street. Quality/price: We placed a takeout order for the chicken Parmesan, rigatoni alla vodka and a half bottle of the red blend wine. The meals also came with four small pieces of Italian bread. I saw the pricing, but having never been here thought maybe the portions and quality justified the cost. My order was good, but not exceptional and I didn't feel the portion was anything generous that would justify the cost of $18, especially given it is a meatless meal (they charge extra to add things in, which I didn't opt for). VERY overpriced imo. My husband got the chicken parm and was not very impressed. There were a few bad spots in the chicken cutlet he had to cut out, and said he's had much better chicken parm at some of the other local Italian spots. It was ok, just not exceptional and the small portion did not justify the cost. I wasn't really sure what to expect with the wine, but gave it a try. The bottle was smaller than I thought it would be (375 ml/12.7 oz) for $16. I asked over the phone what it was exactly and she said it was a red blend. It's mediocre overpriced red table wine. If you like wine, I would recommend skipping it. I wish take out counters would stop forcing tipping. The lowest suggested on the receipt was another $8+. Before tip, the total was $55.44. With tip the check was over $60 for the three items we ordered + the complementary bread. This felt like a fast casual experience at sit down pricing. I'm glad we gave them a try, but seems very overpriced for what you get, especially given there are so many other fantastic places to get pasta in the area that are much more generous and well worth the cost. When ordering online, you pay by credit card using PayPal (PP). This isn't a big deal as I've had a PP account for over a decade, so nothing too inconvenient for me. Secondly, since my PP account is so old, I overlooked correcting my shipping info on it prior to submitting my order to NY Ravioli. So, I immediately realized the error in my ways and sent an email to NY Ravioli informing them of the needed correction (mind you that I placed my order after 9pm west coast time, which is after 12am east coast time). I then received a very courteous call the next morning after 9am from a very friendly person confirming my current contact info, and assuring me that my requests will be honored in a timely manner! This kind of attentiveness is expected, but impressive nonetheless. Before the call ended, I was given a timeline of when my order would be shipped and delivered (24hrs after being shipped!). Now to the product, I have yet to use the pasta and ravioli that I bought, but so far all looks appetizing! There is nothing like fresh authentic Italian pasta! Oh, and the dry ice in the cooler that the items were shipped in stayed true to form. Everything was still frozen after a 3,000+ mile trip! And not frozen like a freezer, but frozen like a luxury freezer-- there's a difference. No freezer burn! No frost bite! No excessive frost! This didn't affect the integrity of the items and their freshness by the way. The only con- I ordered cheese w/ broccoli ravioli for the kiddos, but received only plain cheese ravioli. Not a big deal for me personally, though I would like to get the products that I order! I also would have liked to receive a tracking number in an email confirmation or something. Never got that at shipping. All in all, I love my experience and STILL give them 5 stars because of all the things that they did well. If you don't see an update after May 1, 2013, I must still be very satisfied and therefore recommending 100% that you do business with these folks.
