Not really sure what to think. Went to the ravioli store to buy ravioli but the ravioli store was out of ravioli. The counter clerk was nice, but she suggested I come back hours later to buy ravioli when the ravioli was, in fact, in the store. The ravioli is good, mind, but it's not always in the store -- the store that sells ravioli and has "ravioli" in its name. Had the ravioli been in the store (again, the one selling ravioli, etc.,) I might have been inclined to issue two more stars to this review. But, alas. You had one job, ravioli store. read more

There is no lack of great Italian food stores in town, but there are certain things that I love at Pastosa and don't think they are made anywhere as good as here: Roman artichokes and ricotta. The artichokes are just the right texture and taste, not vinegary like at most places, although, there is definitely balsamic on them. The ricotta is so creamy and tastes divine. I stopped last Sat and got 8 artichokes, ate 6 in one seating and left 2 for my husband, lol. Should have gotten a larger container of ricotta because the next day, he ate half of it for breakfast. read more

Used to be my favorite deli, it's gone a little down on my list. Cold cuts don't always taste as fresh as that used too, but overall 9/10 times is still good. The fresh mozzarella and dry Italian sausage are great. Wonderful variety of olives, and the hot sandwiches are great. No dine in, but very specious and plenty to look around and buy. Super upset that I drove 40 minutes to Oceanside to buy fresh Ravioli for guest for dinner tonight. After bragging how these are the best and creamiest ravioli's... I was so embarrassed because they were defrosted frozen ones after I ASKED for fresh. They were dry and tastes like freezer burn. Never going back again. The very best on the market. Freshly made Pastosa Ravioli comes in two sizes round or square. They cook perfectly and are deliciously creamy. All product's sold by Pastosa are tops the other item I always purchase is their ready made tomato sauce just delicious. They previously also make special platters for instance I've pre-ordered ready made lasagna, eggplant parmigiana for Christmas both just outrageously delicious. I went to Pastosas on 12/23 for ravioli. My first time there and I was impressed with their Covid protocol and how vigilant they were about spacing people and cleanliness. I bought two of their family meals. Each had two boxes of ravioli a pint of their delicious sauce and a choice of bread. I chose one loaf of garlic and one semolina. I also picked up marinated peppers and their sesame bread sticks (so fresh and crunchy) . I made my own sauce but once I tasted theirs I served it on the ravioli for Christmas day. Delicious sauce, fresh delicious ravioli, and the bread was so good! I'll be back this week to pick up two more family dinners to take to my daughters house near Buffalo . Got me some ravioli, got me some ravioli (doing a dance) nice selection of different flavors but stuck with good ole traditional cheese small section of imported groceries.
