I have finally made my way to King Umberto's after all this time. This is part of the trifecta that…read morebrought the grandma pizza to the masses, that being Umberto's, King Umberto's, and Da Angelo's. And with this visit, I have visited all three. With that out of the way, let's get to what I got at this pizzeria. Since I had just come from Dario's, I decided that one slice would be good to get a feel of what KU offers. First off, the ambiance and look of the pizzeria is my favorite of the trifecta and the customer service is fantastic. I got the white slice and on the whole, it was heated to perfection, had a wonderful balance of mozzarella, ricotta and basil. Anywho, the taste of the slice was fantastic and I think this outclasses Umberto's and Da Angelo's white pies by a long shot. The display case had a great selection of wonderfully made pizza and other items for takeout. If you come here, you need to try their grandma pie as that it's claim to fame (I wish I could have it, but damn gastritis! ) I met Giovanni, one of the owners and he was friendly and loves having conversations with his customers and hope to meet him again. This has easily become one of my top favorite pizzerias on Long Island and will make the trek again, this time with my family in tow. Cheers!

Absolutely delicious. Well, run Italian restaurant…read more You know it's good when you leave at 9 o'clock they were still people waiting for a seat Definitely reminds me of New York City restaurant where people are coming in late at night which I loved. The waiters and the staff were dead on perfect servers with extremely well prepared food. The only problem and I'm searching for a problem is the acoustics. This restaurant has mirrors on the wall, which reverberates The sound and makes it very difficult to hear the people at your table put some painting on the wall to lower the sound. Next time I visit and I will come back. I'll bring my hearing aid cause it's very noisy, but that could've been my mouth chewing the delicious food

A great wine selection also helped start the meal, with an entree off the specials of the day presented by my waiter. The paccheri pasta with sautéed sausage was amazing. For desert I teetered on tiarmisu or rum cake and went with the former. It was different with a Bailey's cream but a delicious change. The place has a classy local feel and I was impressed the chef came out to see if I enjoyed the meal. I will definitely go to La Nonna Bella again!

This is a very old fashioned Italian-American style old NY style of grocery store. They have…read moreproducts and produce here that you won't find anywhere else, except an Italian specialty market. I can always count on them for beautiful broccoli-rabe and escarole. I come here for my hard to find Italian groceries like decaf espresso powder, Anna pasta and Brioshci (I actually get the Galeffi). And of course a box of Torone. In the back is a great little meat market where I get some of the best pork chops and my Bell & Evan's chicken. They also have great sausages, pinwheel steaks and really nice burgers and ground meat. All perfect to add to my Sunday sauce with a nice hunk of braciole or throw on the grill. I was here recently and I was hoping that the deli & bakery would be open, but not yet. I'm hoping they open soon. I miss having a nice loaf of semolina bread and getting my fresh stuffed shells. Prices are good, but you have to pick out your fruits and veggies. Now, if you cook, you should know how to do this. It's why you get such great buys. If you just want to buy it and it's all perfect, go pay 3x the price elsewhere. The fruit section is good. They do have a few seasonal items, like Cardone, or Zucchini blossoms. But the best part is and you can get almost everything here year round. If you're an Italian American who wants their foods, this is the place.
