Lena Trattoria  has revamped their menu for the spring, and I had to stop in to try some of the new dishes. There are tons of new additions, and I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest. A lot of the new items lean toward seafood, while others feature familiar proteins paired with fresh, updated sides. Kudos to the Lena's team for keeping things exciting while staying true to the vibe. Here's what I tried: Korean short ribs- Pickled Radishes, Spring Onions Jonah Crab Lettuce Wraps- Boston Lettuce, Housemade Remoulade Tartare, Chives New Mussels Dish- Pepperoncini, Chorizo, Prosecco, Saffron Tomato Broth, Sourdough Croutons Octopus- Patatas Bravas, Kalamata Olives, Salsa Verde, Paprika The short ribs were excellent. They're tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The pickled radish cuts through the richness of the marinade and really brings the dish together. A great, shareable plate that feels perfect for the warmer months. The crab lettuce wraps were incredibly light and fresh. Honestly, if I had my eyes closed, I'd think I was sitting somewhere on a beach. Bright, clean flavors along the sweet crab, perfection. The new mussels were outstanding. The chorizo and pepperoncini add depth and a little kick to that saffron tomato broth, and everything works beautifully together. The mussels were plump and perfectly cooked. I like that they still offer the classic white wine version, but this one feels like a great elevated option. The octopus was good, though not the best I've had. The flavors and accompaniments were really strong, but I personally prefer a more tender texture. It could have used a bit more time to get to that fork-tender consistency with a nice char on the outside. That said, I'd still order it again. This was just round one of trying the new menu, and I already have my next visit planned: the brick oven-roasted whole branzino and the tomahawk pork chop with roasted pepper pizzaiola sauce. read more

For a place that charges Manhattan prices, dinner price for lunch They could at least offer you bread with the meal The Lena salad was supposed to be a no meat salad. Had very little greens and added salami to it with no warning. It was not listed in the menu The place was beautiful. The lunch special is a 45 cents different from the dinner menu. Came here on February 15, 2026 and had a really nice experience overall. We started with the clams oreganata and the calamari arrabbiata. Both appetizers came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. One thing that stood out right away was the timing, we received our appetizers in about 15 minutes after ordering, which was great. For my entrée, I ordered the pollo parmesan and it did not disappoint. It was clearly freshly made and very flavorful. Our entrées came out about 35 minutes after ordering, which felt like a really good pace for a sit down dinner. The staff here was also great, very attentive and friendly throughout the meal. They checked in regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. The overall vibe of the restaurant was another highlight. It has a really nice atmosphere that almost makes you forget you're in the Bronx. It feels like one of those cozy neighborhood Italian spots with a great energy. The only downside is parking. It can be a little tough to find a spot nearby and there's no valet option, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, if you're looking for a solid Italian restaurant in the Bronx with fresh food, attentive service, and a great vibe, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

Wow 10 out of 10. Had reservations for my bday dinner here for 6 with friends and what a great experience! Reservations were for 7:30pm and we arrived at 725pm to park. They have valet parking in front of mama sushi, next door to Lena, but we actually found a parking across the street. We arrived and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. All my friends were there except 1 she was about 10 mins late but no biggie they still sat us no issue. Our server was so nice and friendly, the GM Joseph was also so personable and professional. They made the experience truly wonderful! Food was amazing, drinks also-that pink Lamborghini drink was something else-i would come back for that alone! I recommend the Caesar salad, pollo francese, margarita pizza and the cheesecake. Everything was excellent and reasonably priced. This place has a nice ambiance, very romantic and the decor is very modern. Great for taking pics. The bathrooms were also very clean. I will def be returning soon for a date night and brunch! I was in the Bronx and decided to check out this place for dinner. It is a new year and I wanted to try something new. The restaurant is a nice place with great decor. We were taking food to go but would like to come back here for an indoor meal. We ordered a margarita pizza and the chicken parm. We came home later and enjoyed our food. The chicken parmesan was a good portion and very tasty. The margarita pizza was good but for $20 I expected something larger. I could get a local pizza pie for the same price and be more satisfied. Sadly, we celebrated a birthday here last night, and the experience was disappointing overall. Our group arrived within 15 minutes of our reservation time, yet we still waited nearly an hour to be seated while repeatedly being told "5 more minutes." During that time, the manager avoided addressing or acknowledging the situation altogether, which made the wait even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the delays continued throughout the evening. We spent over three hours at the restaurant between waiting to be seated, waiting for drinks, waiting for food, and waiting for the check. There were long gaps in service throughout the night, which made the experience feel disorganized and drawn out. We ordered the pesto pizza as an appetizer, and while it tasted good, it arrived lukewarm. The entrees themselves, however, were warm and enjoyable. I do want to recognize our waiter, Angel, for being informative when explaining the wine list and offering recommendations to one member of our party. However, overall attentiveness and timing of service throughout the evening still fell short of expectations. Toward the end of the night, our table was cleared, but we still waited an extended amount of time just to receive the check. While the food itself was good, the customer service experience ultimately outweighed the quality of the meal. I'm hoping this constructive criticism helps improve the experience for future guests, because the restaurant has potential, but the level of service and overall management of the evening fell far below expectations -- especially for a birthday celebration. I came here with my kids on a Sunday for brunch. We were across town but was told the food here was very good, so we decided to call and see if they still had brunch available, which they were serving until 4p. No one was at the podium when we first walked in. There was a man in a suit carrying food, who seemed annoyed because we were in the way of him walking out of the front entrance. There's not much clearance for people checking in for a table, and staff having to enter and exit with trays of food/drinks. If he was the manager, it would have been nice to get acknowledgement and a, "someone will be with you shortly", but that didn't happen. We just earned a perturbed look. Angel arrived and I told her I had called earlier. After asking where we'd like to sit, she mentioned that the dress code is smart casual and it might be a problem since my son had on a sleeveless shirt. I was a little annoyed by this because that was not explained when I called but she did take accountability and apologized for not informing me earlier. She left to speak to the manager, mentioning that they have shirts to lend out, asking my son his size. When she came back, she said the manager would allow us to eat outside but reminded it was not something they usually allow. Again, I was a little annoyed by this because of the finger wag, despite the fact that the information was not relayed previously. We sat and made the most of it. Melody, our server, was very nice. I did notice that some of the other staff gave my son weird looks because of my his attire which I found odd. They have a kids menu, so make sure to ask. I don't believe they have it printed out. The brunch is $45 and consists of your choice of appetizer, main and dessert. My son and I ordered items we could share so we could try more of the menu. Appetizers: Potato Croquette - this was amazing and very rich. It's a thick and cheesy, crispy potato croquette topped with a thick pancetta round, grilled asparagus, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. My only gripe is that they did not give a sharper knife to eat with. It was difficult to cut into the pancetta. Calamari Fritti - the breading was good and they were cooked well but they needed a sprinkle of flake salt or something, because they were bland. They tasted ok with the sauce but without it, they were meh and there was a fishy, not super fresh, flavor to them. Mains: Lobster Ravioli - tasted very good but such a small portion. One more ravioli would have been nice, or if they were slightly bigger. Compared to my son's main, this was scant. It was also served with a poached egg, caviar and hollandaise on top. Potato Gnocchi - this was OK. The dish was extremely watery. The dish description said nothing of a sauce so I'm assuming it was the liquid from the spinach. The dish overall was slightly salty but the gnocchi was nicely made. Kid's Margherita Pizza - nicely made, good portion, and my kiddo ate almost all of it. Desserts: L'Affogato - this was a nice version made with pistachio ice cream and espresso. Bread Pudding - this was nice. It was served warm but was a small portion. The brunch has a 90-minute "continuous pour" option for mimosas, prosecco, bellinis, or bloody Mary, for only $20 additional per guest. My son had ordered a bellini and ended up wanting another so we were able to just add on the continuous pour option instead of paying a la carte. I wish they had unsweetened iced tea but was able to get hot tea for myself instead. Again, that man in the suit just seemed like we were an eyesore. He visited every table to inquire how they were doing, except for ours. We were the last people sitting outside and eventually a gentleman and young lady arrived and opted to sit outside. They sat at an empty table next to us and after ordering and receiving their drinks, that same guy in a suit came out and greeted them, welcomed them to the restaurant, and proceeded to move them to a table that was further away from us. The entire vibe from this guy as well as his demeanor towards us was weird from the start and when I get that feeling, I'll dine elsewhere. I also ordered a hot honey pie to go, for hubby. He ate half before I could even take a picture so it's safe to say that he liked it a lot. As I said, the staff with whom we had direct interaction, were great. I did not feel like we were treated any differently by them. I appreciate trying to bring fine dining to Tremont Ave and I hope they do well in this location. I think there are definitely some things in which they could improve. I probably won't be back unless I'm attending an event or something but I have been telling others about the restaurant because it is different from the other restaurants in the area and definitely worth a visit. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gym in the Bronx. It's right next to Mamasushi, so definitely don't go to that restaurant and come here instead. It's a very cute, chic eatery with Italian favorites. The ambience of the restaurant is very dim and dark, perfect for date night, but also perfect for a girl dinner. There are Godfather paintings all over the walls, and their bar area is extremely bright, lit up, and colorful. The food was delicious. Huge portions and so many different varieties of pasta. They could improve on having more plant-based dishes but overall, everything was delicious. Their tiramisu martinis were so fucking amazing. They even gave us one on the house due to an error, but we were not complaining. It was absolutely delectable. The service was also pretty good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because the cleanup boys would literally clean up the tables and brush off any leftover food into our laps. There could be an a more efficient and cleaner way to clean the tables, in my opinion. All at all, definitely coming back here. My friend had her bridesmaids proposal dinner here and it was perfect. Love this place! I've been to Lena'sTrattoria about four times now, and it never disappoints. The aesthetics are beautiful!!! such a cozy, stylish vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The staff is always on point: friendly, attentive, and really make you feel welcome. The cocktails are fantastic, and I love that every time I visit I try something new on the menu and it's always a hit. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I had the chance to attend a Yelp Elite brunch at Lena Trattoria in the Bronx, and the vibes were chef's kiss! From the moment we walked in, the energy was warm, the staff was kind, and the live saxophone player absolutely set the tone classy, chill, and such a nice touch. To start, I tried the bruschetta it looked beautiful, but I wish it had a bit more acidity or a balsamic drizzle to balance it out. The buttermilk pancakes though? OMG, amazing! So fluffy, and the mascarpone whipped cream with the warm syrup and fresh fruit was perfection. My plus one had the calamari (decent) and the lobster ravioli Benedict, which she enjoyed..just wish the portion wasn't so tiny . We liked Lena. My wife and I visited the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx (one of the leading such institutions in the nation, with the Huntington of Pasadena and the Missouri). I live in Queens. We were headed back; I had looked for fine dining options for lunch, casual but nice. Lena's fit the bill. We would go back if we ever went to that area again, which would probably in a year; we're on a once every year or so schedule with the NYBG and other venues in the borough. We had the clams oreganata and the hot honey pizza. They gave us foccacia with olives in olive oil. We were hungry. We ate everything, with a few slices of leftover pie that will be half of lunch tomorrow. The setting was exactly what we were looking. The service was efficient and friendly. We arrived as they were opening. There was one other couple, I am guessing not a couple but a duo meeting for business purposes. As we were leaving, more patrons started coming. read more

The ambiance here was very welcoming. The music was not noticeable until about 8pm, and when it was playing it was at a volume that allowed for conversation. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. When we asked him for a recommendation the suggestions he gave were accurate. The food was delicious. I was in a group of five and we were all pleased with our appetizers and entrees. I love a restaurant with mocktail options. I got a ginger beer selection and my friend got a virgin margarita, we both agreed that they were flavorful. This was a true highlight because not many restaurants offer quality mocktails. When it came time for dessert, two from the group did not partake; of the three who did, I was the only one who wasn't happy with my choice. I ate it, because it was okay. I know had I told my server he would've replaced it, but it was the end of the evening for us and I was tired. Louis Seafood was an old school Italian staple, serving the Throggs Neck Community since 1947 for an astounding 70 years before closing in 2018. Now stands two restaurants in Louis place, one of which is Lena Trattoria. The clean brick exterior is a prelude to their well designed interior. First time stepping in for a glimpse and some after dinner drinks, proved to be a good choice. We chose to sit at the bar which yielded a fun time. Then and there, decisions were made to come back. A second visit proved to be more of the same. We yet again sat at the bar on those plush, heavy barstools. Though this time we wanted to just catch some of the NFL RedZone and chill. Complimentary Focaccia with Olives in Olive Oil were presented to start. A nice touch. We weren't in the mood for large entrees, so we settled on the Cheese and Salami Board, which included Filberts-my English favorite, toasted Walnuts and Fig Marmalade. All ideal accompaniments to this charcuterie. Next, The Grilled Caesar Romaine. The presentation was unexpectedly appealing. The Romaine had an excellent ashen char, yet very refreshing and crisp. Great idea visually and flavorfulfully. Making sure patrons service and culinary needs were met. The engaging manager, Joseph, we felt held this place together. Lena is a newly opened establishment on the East Tremont strip. Their marketing and advertisement is working because we found them on IG. So glad we found Lena Trattoria. This has been one of the best service we've received. Our waters were consistently filled. The employees were kind and our server was well informed about their menu. The ambience is so romantic and it transported us out of the Bronx. The modern designs made us feel sexy. We brought our 6 month old son with us for dinner and they were extremely attentive to his needs as well. I liked that we could add our own flare to our orders. We added prosciutto to our Margherita pizza. We witnessed the cook make our brick oven pizza from scratch. The pizza tasted good. Aperol Spritz: one of the best we've had! So yummy! Capellini Pomodoro with Chicken: delicious, I wouldn't order this again though, the other pasta dishes sound more appetizing. Rib Veal Chop: the meat was tender and the sauce was flavorful. The Food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. I had scallops on a bed of vegetables, others at my table had the filet of sole and chicken parmigiana. We all enjoyed our entrees very much after eating a wonderful house bread which was delicious and fresh accompanied by a small plate of mixed olives and oil. We also enjoyed the bacon and Brussel sprouts drenched in maple syrup for appetizer. The service was impressive. Greeted by a lovely, well dressed receptionist we were promptly escorted to a great table for 4. The maitre de/ manager Joseph was impeccably dressed in a suit and greeted us very warmly and showered us with ample attention and service. We requested lemon wedges for our water and were instead presented with a glass filled with ice, a spoon and several lemon wedges on a small plate with a napkin. Very impressive service. The restaurant itself is very well appointed with beautiful tiles and furniture. The bathroom was beautiful and spotless. The beverages, cuisine, and service exceeded our anticipations. General Manager Joseph notably fosters a welcoming atmosphere. Elegant ambience, thoughtful well prepared food excellent service. A true gem in the Bronx. We started with the bacon slab and brussels sprouts and boy. I'll tell you that could've been a meal in end of itself. The bacon was thick and beautifully prepared. Brussels sprouts were smashed just enough. Lena Trattoria has been such a great addition to E.Tremont. I've continued to go to this restaurant, not only for the great food, but the ambiance and incredibly attentive and kind staff. I would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the new manager Jay, who was yelling at and shaming the staff, and did so in front of customers. 10 stars I've been wanting to try this spot since I saw they were opening and when they opened it was on my list to go! FINALLY one of my friends and I went on a Wednesday night for dinner. I made reservations for 8 but we arrived a little early and was still able to be accommodated. Service- 5 Stars Abraham Our waiter- 5 Stars Food - 5 Stars Aesthetic & Ambiance - 5 Stars (If you total it up that it's really 20 stars) The seating is nice and comfortable, the tables cleaned and cleared before seating a new set of diners. Once seated complimentary focaccia with olives in olive oil were brought over to the table. I knew I was going out for dinner so I had a late breakfast, skipped lunch and was ready for a nice hearty dinner. To start- Pellegrino ($8) Appetizer: I ordered the Beet Salad ($14) which has Roasted Golden - Candy Stripe Beets, Frisee Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese, With Champagne Citrus Vinaigrette. Absolutely delicious! The beets were nice and fresh and didn't taste like someone just dug them up, didn't bother to clean them and threw them in the salad. Entrees: My friend ordered the Rigatoni Al Osteria ($26) which consisted of Fennel Sausage Ragu, and a Touch of Cream Brandy. She loved it and ate every bite. I ordered the Pollo parmesan ($24) which has Marinara, Mozzarella Served with Linguini Marinara. ‍ The pasta and the chicken didn't need anything added! It was perfectly seasoned, cooked amazingly, I really didn't even need to add the additional Parmesan on but I did. It wasn't necessary at all! I initially was going to add pepper but said to myself I needed to try it before adding any additional seasoning and I am so glad I decided to try it as is (aside from the cheese)! It didn't need anything! I'm just a cheese person and had to be extra. I know I'll get the same thing when I go again so I'll be able to get un- Parmesaned photos at that point. Drinks: I considered the 'Easy Bellini' but ended up getting the 'Bianca' ($19) Grey Goose, Lemon Sorbet, Triple Sec, Grenadine, Topped with Veuve Clicquot Rosè. Abraham suggested it and I was happy with it. Next time I'll have both! My friend had the Allagash White ($8) Withbier Maine Abv 5.2% I wanted to get a side of garlic spinach but it's good I didn't because I was already struggling to eat what I had while feeling full and still wanting to continue eat. ‍ We thought we were done. We're Both stuffed, happy andddd wrong. Because our good buddy Abraham comes strolling over with a dessert menu. The audacity! So of course we ended up getting dessert. Dessert: Sugar Puff Doughnuts ($15) with Chocolate Gnash & raspberry syrup. They were more like zeppolis with a hint of beignets. Also amazingly delicious. I forgot to add we saw the table near us getting something from a cheese wheel! I'm not sure what but it's a cheese wheel! Also they have weekly Daily Specials! Needless to say we had a time!! Amazing italian food gem. The margarita pizza is TOOO GOOD. Service was top tier. If you are have any meat restrictions make sure to ask before ordering a dish because some items on the menu do not list if they add meat/bacon on top. Otherwise amazing food and flavor!! read more
