Really wanted to try Pastini, so off we go.. Parking was interesting. There is an underground parking area, but for employees only. Continue around the building and you find the free parking structure for hotel guests and customers. Pastini is a spacious restaurant with large windows and very clean. We were greeted the moment we entered. We were seated at a booth that was roomy and comfortable and were brought drinks immediately. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual but not shabby. The service was very positive and friendly. We started with a calamari appetizer that came with a tartar sauce. The breading on the calamari was a lighter breading and not fatty or greasy. The flavor of the calamari was enhanced by the seasonings in the light batter. For the entree I had the spicy shrimp fettuccine. Now, I'm not usually one for superlatives but this meal was over. The. Top. There were subtleties of flavors I can not describe! There was a mild spicy heat in there that was so mild in it's heat that the actual flavor of the pepper came through. The tomatoes appear to have been cut and roasted first, then seasoned in oils and maybe some basil, which was completely unexpected and very flavorful. I don't usually care for cooked tomatoes because I find them too acidic. Not here. The shrimp was very well seasoned and prepared and only left a small bit of the tail shell. They were large enough to cut into several bites. I can't get over how flavorful the entire plate was. Every bite seemed to be an exploration into "what is that flavor?" We also had a baked ziti with sausage and a light tomato cream sauce. Nothing was drenched or overpowering. Again, just a collection of subtle flavors where dinner became more of an adventure than a meal. We also shared an order of garlic bread that was very buttery and crisp but not overly crunchy. The garlic was well measured, not too much or too little. Dessert was something called a chocolate tartufo. It resembled a lava cake as it was served hot. However, the inside was not a molten pool of chocolate, but more like a hot piece of very moist cake with an almost crispy outer surface. This came with a sprig of mint on top and a dollop of whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla gelato. Our server Tyler was very knowledgeable and friendly and extremely attentive. He checked on us frequently and cleared our table as we went. Hats off to the chefs here as I have not had such a memorable meal in a long time. The subtleties and nuances of flavors, the skillfully measured amounts of spices and seasonings without overdoing it.. There must be some very professional chefs in Pastini. Tried this place when we were in Oregon as our first stop, and everything was so good!! The calamari and braised beef ravioli were my favorite there! I tried a little bit of everyone's pasta and they were all tasty too. The inside was pretty cute at night, they had lights so it wasn't dark. The service was pretty good considering it was so busy on a Friday night. They got us in pretty quickly. The parking is also not too bad. We got a spot right away. It was promising when I first walked in, but quickly went downhill. The primary problem is the pasta, which the kitchen apparently loves to cook to the point of mushiness . I had the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce and added on a meatball for an additional $3.50. The Bolognese was good, but it was poured over What was essentially a starch flavored glob. I don't know if the order sat on a counter someplace for a very long time melting into itself, or if the kitchen is at fault, but I suspect the latter. If this had been any other Italian restaurant, I probably would've focused my review on the meatball which, for $3.50, was slightly smaller than a golf ball and, surprisingly, had about as much flavor. Unfortunately,, the problems with the taglia telling ended up being the bigger disappointment. read more

Pastini is quite tasty. I had a garlicky spaghetti pomodoro and a truffle-centered chocolate cake with vanilla gelato. Husband had a creamy spaghetti carbonara (so good!), mother-in-law ordered ziti with sausage and cheese. Everything was delicious. We've eaten there several times, and it's all been delicious. We have tried different salads - all good and different pastas also Really good - with the exception of one Ziti I think was not bad but I liked the other pasta dishes better. The fettuccine Alfredo was underwhelming and lacked flavor. The shrimp scampi was underwhelming and had a strong vinegar, taste and very little garlic. It was watery and both meals needed a bit of salt. It is an impressive when the shrimp on your scampi have to be peeled. The garlic bread was great. It just needed a little salt. In terms of service we only saw our waitress twice when we were seated and when she brought the check. We were never refilled on our drinks, nor were we offered any Parmesan to go with our pasta meals. The ambience is loud and noisy and definitely a family restaurant. Which didn't bother me a bit. I was really excited to eat hair and I don't think I'll be returning. It was disappointing. read more

3.5 Stars We were in Eugene, Oregon visiting colleges for my children. We stayed at the Hyatt and Pastini's was in the complex so we decided to give it a try. My kids had the non-alcoholic ginger sparkler drinks $4.25 and I had a Blood Orange Margarita $10. The drinks were on point. I had the Pappardelle with Meat Sauce Bolognese $17. It was a'ight, but that might be because I had some 5 star Pappardelle in Wailea, Maui a few weeks prior. My daughter had the Chicken Caesar Salad $16.50. She liked it and I had a try and it was typical chicken Caesar salad. My son had the Five Cheese Lasagna with Meat Sauce $17.25. I should have ordered that. It was recommended by the waitress and it was very tasty. Prices were reasonable. Parking was included in my hotel stay, but I think it was free. Service was awesome. If my daughter chooses O or OSU (they have one in Corvallis), I'll eat here again. read more

Eh. Been wanting to try this chain after a couple recommendations. I definitely won't be back. Waited 10 minutes just to get our initial waters. Server was friendly but service was suuuper slow. Watched other patrons who came in far after us get their main courses before us. We did order apps, but had to wait an hour for our main courses, which were "very" underwhelming. My short rib ravioli "sounded" amazing when I read it on the menu. But after an hour of waiting for it, it was subpar. The presentation was sad and flavor was lacking. There was barely any short rib and the "marinara" tasted like heated up, watery tomato paste. After driving all day, I just wanted a good meal. Was offered an apology and "maybe" a discount, but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm a pretty generous tipper, so I'm just looking for the same service as everyone else. The dining room felt like a pleasant space, although the speakers sounded incredibly "tinny", to the point of irritation. One of the first things I noticed was the complete lack of pecorino cheese on Pastini's menu. Carbonara with peas(???) and parmesan? No thanks. My partner and I settled on a meatball appetizer, followed by butternut squash ravioli and cavatappi primavera. Microwaved meatballs loaded with mozzarella were nothing to write home about. Seasoned just enough, but could've used more. Reminded me more of the innards of a Subway sandwich than anything I'd find in an Italian restaurant. Ravioli was good, but the "sauce" was literally just cheap olive oil. Aside from cheap olive oil having no place in Italian cooking, there was no effort to emulsify the sauce whatsoever. Very weird. The primavera, in addition to lacking any meaningful amount of salt, also had a cheap gross olive oil "sauce". For being one of two esteemed Italian joints in Eugene, I found my experience at Pastini extremely underwhelming, and certainly not worth the price. I think people in this city are wholly unaware of what good food is, which is strange for a city of nearly 200,000 people. read more

Every time we visit from California we stop here to have dinner and it's always a great experience. The staff is great and the food is delicious. The restaurant has nice decor and it's not too big or small. If you want to have romantic dinner it's quite enough, if you have the family out it's busy enough to enjoy and not be shushed. read more

Informed manager ( she was nice and attentive) who did not remove the the error from our bill, but offered us a "Free Entree card." Summary: do not go here if you are hungry, the kitchen staff are not too concerned about you or the people sitting next to you, and will make you wwwwwaaaaaiiiiiitttttttt to eat a below state standard meal served at the proper temperature. I like this place. It is modern and well-decorated inside. I like the location at Oakway Center near lots of shops and amenities. I've had prompt and friendly service each time I've visited here and I've recently discovered what a good deal the happy hour menu can be! We got two drinks and more than enough food for $30 (two pasta dishes, garlic bread, salad, and soup). I really like the Caesar salad (the serving size is HUGE) and their lasagna is very yummy. It is "Italian inspired" so place your expectations accordingly. Overall, I think it is a nice and trendy place to have a lunch of dinner. The service is not bad here, but the food is below average. We had the full meal spaghetti with meatballs and the chicken caesar salad. The spaghetti tasted like something from a high school cafeteria - thin and overcooked. Tomato sauce and meatballs were bland and Sysco-ey. Salad had just a few strips of cold pre-cooked chicken breast. Dressing was overly anchovy pasted and rather stinky. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. We had Summer as our waitress, and she did wonderful. She was cheerful, sweet, and always had a smile. It wasn't a fake smile though. All of the wait staff were helpful, actually. I love how they all take care of tables. It's a total group effort. I had soda, my husband tried the sangria, and mother had iced tea. My soda was never empty, dirty dishes never piled up on the table, everything was taken care of quickly. The food was great. I am not a fan of pasta, and I enjoyed it. We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer, which was delicious. Think crusty bread, with a soft interior, coated in olive oil with fresh chopped garlic and herbs. My mother ordered the five cheese lasagna, which she inhaled. My husband ordered the Fusilli Alla Roma. He enjoyed it. I had the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, and I added mushrooms to it. I would equate this restaurant to basically an upgraded version of Noodles and Co. That's what it reminded me of. But in a more relaxed and not so fast food-like setting. Would I return? Yes. I'm not big on pasta so I'm not running to go any time soon. But i had no complaints, especially for being a brand new restaurant. My wife and I had dinner here and why we never tried this place before, I can't fathom. They have started a relatively new lunch menu that we will definitely be back to sample. Here's how dinner went: We ordered entrées served prior with bread that was delicious. In fact, we ordered a second helping ( please don't judge) ha... We decided on the special that night which was the ravioli. It was superb....filled with cheese and served in a robust yet not overwhelming red sauce. I had a standard g&t while my wife enjoyed the house wine (very leggy and a nice compliment) Service was spot on and the atmosphere lends itself to taking your time enjoying your meal. Once it drys up a bit, the outdoor patio has heaters and looks to be quite pleasant. We both recommend when in the mood for moderately priced, delicious Italian. read more

We ordered the cheesy bread and calamari for appetizers. Two of us ordered the special, a delicious meat filled cannelloni's that had loads of sauce and cheese melted on top. Did you know that you can order Gluten Free pasta subbed in for pretty much most of the pasta dishes?! That was nice. We had someone order a GF shrimp pasta that was enjoyed.
