First, what isn't to love about a bakery? But we all know they can have a wide variety of not only…read moreselections, but taste profiles. One thing I totally love about this particular place is that they always have my husband's favorite, key lime pie. They seem to make small tarts pretty regularly but it's usually enough. I ordered an entire pie for his birthday last year and it was a bit pricey (around $30-$35) but delicious and exactly what he always wants. I've also had scones from here and they are my favorite in the area, not dry and tasteless but the perfect consistency and just the right amount of flavor. The staff is always friendly, and I love that they are open on Sunday which is usually a quiet, stroll and town kinda day. I wish I had pictures but the goods always go too fast!

OMG Donuts is always a delight!…read more The staff is always friendly and patient. The bakery is always clean and organized. And you can tell the donuts are baked fresh daily as you can smell them right as you walk in. They have such a great selection of flavors, they have donuts, fritters, and they bake fresh crossaints on the weekends, they can stuff your donut with your pick of cream. It's so hard to pick out what you want because you have so many options. The donuts are always fresh and pillowy when you bite in to them. Not too sweet, just right. My favorite are the cinnamon roll donuts, they have just the right amount of cinnamon and are worth the try. I've been eyeing their apple fritter and my best friend has told me they are amazing, so maybe I'll give that a go on my next visit! OMG Donuts is doing donuts right, I pass a krispy Kreme donut shop to get here, so I guess that statement is a fact!

It's Almost Perfect…read more I've been wanting to try The Donut House's fully customized donuts for ages, but it seems like every time I drive by, they're closed. Apparently, they often sell out and close early. So I was thrilled to finally get my hands on them today after so much anticipation. The donuts themselves are fantastic: huge, fresh, and incredibly fluffy with a perfect, not-too-sweet texture. However the fillings didn't quite hit the mark for me. They all were too tangy and heavy. The chocolate cream filling was sour, and the raspberry tasted rather stodgy, nothing like the light, sweet jelly from Krispy Kreme. At $14.99 for a half-dozen, there are fillings galore to choose from, which is great, but it might take some experimenting to find the right one for me. They also offer coffee, bubble teas, and a "wall of goodies" that looks intriguing On the bright side, the service was terrific! The young lady behind the counter made sure my sister and I had a very positive experience, and the place was spotlessly clean. Even though they were getting ready to close, we never felt rushed.. Despite the filling disappointments, I'd definitely go back to try some different options - I'd love to find my perfect custom donut, and how lucky I am to have found a place that may facilitate that, right here in Kannapolis.

I'm writing this review because we recently learned that a gift certificate we gifted as a holiday present expired. I wasn't aware it had a time limit, if I had know I would've thought twice about gifting from this establishment. It's embarrassing for us to give a gift that was ultimately unusable. I understand running a small business is challenging, but I wish I would've at least been made aware of their gift card policy in advance.

No greeting, the lady behind the counter just walked up and started pulling desserts out as we were talking amongst ourselves and trying to decide on them, so felt a little rushed. Also, I guess they save the good boxed packaging for customers they like, so if you are offered styrofoam then that means you didn't make the list lol. The way we were stared at the entire time and rudely handed the receipt to sign after our purchase made the entire visit an uncomfortable vibe and as if we were being a bother. And just for future reference, yes please offer your customers a bag to carry multiple items they purchased, thanks. If you decide to stop in though, the white chocolate mousse was pretty tasty lol (that's what the one star is for, otherwise, it would be a zero for me).
