But I could tell the environment was super fun and bright, perfect for a bakery. The staff were friendly and efficient. They managed to keep a good selection available despite all the business. Man was this place a hit at the local CHEERWINE festival! They offered homemade treats that were perfect for the event. I tried the CHEERWINE cupcake, macaroons, and ice cream. Cupcakes were a MUST buy. We ran into this during our tour of downtown Salisbury. We ordered a cookie dough cupcake. WOW. The butter creat is not overly sweet. I first had Abigail's when her business was from home. Our family was excited when she opened her shop in Downtown Salisbury. I love to see a Local expanding their business. Pleasant little cakery on Main Street with a nice selection of macaron and fancy cupcakes and other treats. Orange creamsicle frosting was light, smooth, and elegant but the cakey part was a little dry. On a good day the leftover bits from cake creations can be had for a modest sum. They are moist, delicious, and unfrosted so let us always hope for a good day. Nicely upholstered seating up front and a bit more around the corner. I heard about Abigail's when they were recommended to my best friend for her Engagement Party Dessert table. I've lived in Salisbury for 5 years and never heard of it. They made mini cupcakes, cake pops and rice crispy treats and everything was delicious. So I knew I had to stop by on my own when I had a chance. Located right downtown as I walked in, the atmosphere was nice. It made you want to sit down with a girlfriend, a cup of coffee & cupcake and just gossip for hours lol. When I walked in I was immediately assisted. She also told me they'd only been open about a year. She was very friendly and patient with me as a decided on what I wanted and took my pictures for Yelp lol. All of the cupcakes looked delicious, though the variation in dessert types were limited to Cupcakes, Cookies, & Rice Krispy Treats. So I wouldn't quite call this a bakery. More like a Cupcakery. I decided to go with a Cookies & Cream Cupcake, a Carrot Cake Cupcake and a Rice Krispy Treat. I devoured it all. Though I didn't quite enjoy the icing on the Carrot Cake. I think all of their icings are Cream Cheese. Not sure what was off about it, but I enjoyed the Cookies & Cream icing more. Even after refrigerating the cupcakes, sitting them out about 30 minutes before eating and they were still very moist! Their Rice Krispy treats have whole mini marshmallows scattered throughout. It was a nice surprise. 3 days later and it was still soft and enjoyable to eat. So far they are the best i've found in Salisbury and so they are now my new favorite local cupcakery! read more

While I would suggest to offer icing that isn't cream cheese that is the only complaint I have. I had the rice Krispy treat. It was large and delicious. My husband had a strawberry cupcake that he couldn't stop talking about. The prices were amazing as well. Very affordable and could easily be double the price. It's a whole cake or cupcake establishment ..their may have been a cookie or two? The interior is tastefully done with a delicate feminine touch. This will surely be the place mothers, daughters and grandmothers and brides to be run to for their cakes. I think it will be quite successful. Cupcakes and Cookies say no more! Salisbury, NC has done it again! My first experience with this place was my hubby ordering a carrot cake from here for a birthday party. All of the guest raved about how delicious and beautiful the cake tasted and looked. The carrot cake was very moist and had subtle cream cheese frosting taste. On my first visit to the store I tried their red velvet cupcake. I will say the frosting tasted great on the cupcake but the flavor wasn't what I was expecting for the cupcake itself but it was still good. I think my favorite thing about this shop is that they sale scrap pieces from the cake decorating process. Which I really think is smart because honestly I am not much of a frosting person. I have ordered from Abigail's for many occasions since she opened her doors in Salisbury. I have used her for both my baby showers and birthdays. Today I experienced the worst customer service I've ever had. I walked in asking to order a custom cake and if I could speak with someone in person instead of email due to having a detailed order that may have been confusing or lost in translation. I was told by her assistant I'm guessing, that only Abigail could sit down to take cake orders. At that time Abigail approached the counter, never to greet or acknowledge that I was standing there. Abigail asked her assistant "What is it"? Her assistant informed her that I was there to make a cake order. Again, with no acknowledgement to HER customer what so ever, she says "oh yeah, email" to her assistant, and turned to walk away. Never once did I receive a greeting, eye contact, information on how or if possible, when I could sit down with her to order my cake. I find it disgusting for any business owner, and a small business owner at that, to personally treat a customer the way I was treat. I walked out of her bakery almost in tears.
