Cons: tea was very weak. 20% mandatory tip added to reservation. The service was fine but I don't like being forced to tip. Pros: food was delicious. Better than the food at Ballantyne Hotel's tea room. Nicely decorated. Friendly service. Great addition to the area. A con that is not the fault of the owner or employees: VERY LOUD conversation went on the entire time my friend & I were there. What's wrong with people? A very disappointing experience - they have no menus detailing their teas or their food options and the waitress was unable to tell us the choices. I had to access Yelp to see a menu. I ordered a salad that arrived in an incredibly small portion, and the tea I ordered had not been steeped long enough before they poured it - weak and tasteless. This place is amazing! Great cupcakes, cheesecakes and everything sweet . The savory items are also very tasty! We LOVE the pimento cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich and the shepherds pie is SO good. The tea we had was great to warm the body on a cold day. We also loved the lavender lemonade we took with us on our mountain trip. Wonderful tea shop with delicious food. Her baked goods are amazing and it's clear that she takes pride in everything she makes. She has gluten free baked items that are outstanding, and her dairy free goodies are delicious. Try one of her specialty teas, we had the Earl Gray with lavender and it was absolutely yummy.
