can't say enough great things about Sweet Life! We ordered three custom cakes for a special occasion, and I gave Lori some rough guidelines, trusting her to use creative imagination. The results were beyond our expectations. Each cake was a masterpiece--beautifully crafted and admired by everyone at the event. The attention to detail in the designs was stunning, and it was clear that Sweet Life put a lot of thought and care into their work. As for the taste? Absolutely phenomenal. The cakes were as delicious as they were gorgeous. Each bite was a perfect balance of flavor and texture, leaving our guests raving about how amazing they were. Sweet Life delivered on every front: creativity, quality, and taste. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any special occasion or celebration. They truly turned our vision into something spectacular! Thank you, Sweet Life, for making our event so memorable. read more

We walked by here on a Saturday night around 7 pm and it was closed, but we saw people inside and one customer picking up a cake. We made eye contact, but kept walking. We circled back a few minutes later and the one worker came out and opened the shop back up for us. I think it helped that we had a bunch of kids with us. Needless to say, we bought a ton of stuff and was limited to what was on display. The inside of the shop is cute, but there is no room to eat there. The decor is old school and feels very mom and pop. I had the red velvet cupcake, which was very good! I also had a bite of a friend's vanilla chai cheesecake. The slice was huge and was so good, extremely rich, this slice is sharable for sure. The staff was great and we are grateful for them opening just for us! read more

The best cupcakes ever!!! Always fresh, always yummy. They are large and I usually cut them in half. My granddaughter loves the macaroons. Today she got vanilla with sprinkles. She loves sprinkles! I got a chocolate expresso cupcake and an oatmeal creampie that leaves Little Debbie in the dust. They do beautiful custom cakes! So good! read more

Amazing customer service! Great cupcakes and cheesecakes! This jewel in the heart of Concord is so welcoming! Great atmosphere! We will definitely be back after retrograde is out of the microwave read more

I can't say enough good things about this bakery! I ordered a white chocolate raspberry cake for my daughter's 16th birthday celebration. The cake was absolutely beautiful! She wanted swans on top and Lori made them herself!! The cake itself was the moistest cake I've ever had. It was just pure joy!! We also bought some macarons for the party and the kids said they were better than Amelie's! The bakery itself is so charming and everything in the cases looked HEAVENLY!! We can't wait to go back! read more

I ordered 48 cupcakes, 8 flavors 40 a birthday party. Not only was the staff extremely nice but the cupcakes were awesome. That was the opinion of all 25 guests and staff we gave some to. Also the prices were very reasonable! Great job The Sweet Life. read more

The only negative thing I will say is that you will likely have to find parking in a parking garage several buildings down because there is no parking near this cute little shop. This is located in downtown Concord where the roads are narrow, the buildings are old, and there's lots of construction. It's not a bad thing, but it's something to be aware of. My boyfriend and I stopped in about two hours before closing and we snatched up the majority of what was left in the case. We got two s'mores cupcakes and two peach cupcakes for our friend, I got some sort of caramel macaron, which made me wonder what the heck I had been eating until now. These macarons were next level! If all you've ever had is from Target's bakery, Komma Tea, or Sunflower Bakery, seriously try them here! I got a strawberry cake bomb, which was basically like a cake pop minus the stick. It was so moist and tender and delicious. I may or may not have moaned while eating it, just saying. My boyfriend snatched up a bunch of their caramelitas, and he is obsessed with them now, talking about this being our regular bakery and needing to come back every now and again. He's seriously already talking about having this place make my birthday cake in September, so I'm going to have some serious thinking to do in terms of flavor and design. If you have a sweet tooth or you need a good baker, seriously check this place out. read more

Amazing! Fantastic! Delicious!!! We had a family member sprinkle shower, and the cake was made by the Sweet Life. It was an almond cake with a raspberry filling and a buttercream frosty. Cannot say enough about it. It has to be the best cake Ever made by any bakery and we've had a lot of cakes made. We will definitely be a return customer! Thank you Lori read more

They did it again! They created an over-the-top birthday cake that was a work of art and tastes as good as it looks. We also got a dozen boozy cupcakes for the birthday party. You only turn 21 once in your life. We wanted a cake that celebrated this "rite of passage" in a big way. Lori created us a cake that is 100% edible and looks exactly like a Patron Tequila bottle. The base is made of fondant that looks like butcher block complete with salt and real lime slices! The body of the cake is red velvet. The outside is silver fondant. The inside of the bottle neck is rice crispy treat. It looks so realistic! We ordered boozy cupcakes to incorporate a real shot of tequila. They are Key Lime cupcakes with a Key Lime cream cheese frosting. Each cupcake comes with a liquor shot that you squeeze into the cupcake right before you eat it! Both of these creations are elevated works of art. Thanks for working so hard to make our event special. read more

Excellent cupcakes and very nice employees! Cute local bakery stop for a treat or special cake!

She made beautiful delicious cupcakes for a baby shower! Three different flavors and she did a different swirl on each flavor - so unique!

I can't say enough good things about Lori. Lori recently made a Groom's welding machine cake for my son. My son drew a picture of exactly what he wanted and Lori made it come to life in the form of a cake. It was AMAZING AND DELICIOUS!! When I went to pick up the cake I also purchased three different cupcakes from the display case. They were heavenly!! I can't thank Lori enough!!! I HIGHLY recommend THE SWEET LIFE BAKERY!! read more

Love The Sweet Life. We don't even live in Concord but both sets of parents do. They do the BEST gluten free cupcakes and are very willing to work with allergies. I've also tried their dairy free stuff and you couldn't tell the difference. This place has been amazing for my wife who has celiac and my mom who's gluten intolerant. Their service is also top notch. Highly recommend! read more

Fantastic, independently owned shop, with delicious baked goods and a lovely staff. Located in downtown Concord, The Sweet Life provides the daily dessert specials to Gianni's Trattoria across the street, which is how we discovered this gem. (We always order the dessert special at Gianni's because we know it will be worth it!!) The cupcakes are gorgeous and taste even better than they look, which is no small feat. The cinnamon roll is huge and tasty and holds up well to reheating. We also just tried the Oreo cookies and cream cookie dough and really enjoyed it. This bakery is definitely worth a stop when you're in the area! read more

I'm so sad to have to give this bakery 2 stars because I bought a cake from her May 2013 and it was amazing!!!! Unfortunately my most recent cake I picked up this past Saturday for my daughters Peppa Pig tea party at Discovery Place was such a disappointment. It was dry, dense, and burnt around the edges. Everyone literally had to eat around the burnt pieces of the cake and it was so embarrassing to have served such a cake to my guest because everything else was absolutely perfect at the party with the exception of the burnt cake. I'm not sure if they were too busy because it's wedding season or what but this was definitely a downer for me. The cake was decorated perfectly and you could tell had it not been burnt it would have tasted good but alas it was burnt and that changed the flavor and texture of the cake. read more

Best bakery in Concord hands down! If you go anywhere else for gourmet baked goods your missing out!

The Sweet Life recently moved into my apartment building and it's such a nice treat to have fresh baked goods steps away. The cinnamon buns are delicious. My dads obsessed with her brownies. The macaroons are better than any other I've had before. I love the edible cookie dough, it's such a cute gift. It's family owned and operated and I love shopping local. Very thankful to have them close by! read more

The Sweet Life is my absolute favorite bakery in the Charlotte area! We live about 25 minutes away but this is a staple at my house for special occasions! We have used this bakery for our wedding cake and cupcakes, my baby shower cupcakes as well as a few other special orders. Lori also made us a free anniversary cake to enjoy on our first wedding anniversary! She makes delicious cakes, cookies, cupcakes and brownies! Sooooo many flavors of cupcakes- my favorites are almond and banana pudding. My husband loves the key lime pie flavor. I LOVE her buttercream. If you follow her on Facebook she occasionally posts the items they have available that day. The bakery is now located inside 2 Gals Kitchen. It is only open until around 3, so if you want something, plan accordingly! I can't say enough yummy things about Lori and her baking. If you are interested in gluten free she can also accommodate you! read more

Lori at Sweet Life was absolutely AMAZING. We ended up booking her with less than a month until our wedding. She was so easy to work with and even with it being so close to our wedding she never once made us feel stressed about it and really made picking out a cake a good experience. She was easy to set up a time for a tasting and consultation. All the flavors we tried we sooooo delicious. It made it hard to decide! Our wedding cake turned out perfect and tasted so good. After our consultation my fiancé and I couldn't wait to be able to eat some of our wedding cake. We had so many compliments on the cake during the reception from all our family and friends. Plus having a wonderful vendor like her really helped me by having one less thing to worry about. THANK YOU LORI read more
