Have been here several times now and our dinner last night truly blew me away. Every dinner has been fabulous but they truly outdid themselves with the recent menu. The service is fantastic from the minute you walk in. I love that you watch everything being made right in front of you. The kitchen has a very modern sleek feel to it and the smaller group size truly creates a unique and intimate experience. The food was delectable, each dish containing a modern twist on standard pasta dishes with added meats or sauces to really enhance the flavors. Can't stop talking about this place and last night didn't change a thing but only enhanced that feeling. The best meal hands down that I have ever had, big thanks to the chefs and the staff for helping create an incredible experience.

This review is actually for my visit back in March, but I have been constantly thinking about that visit since then. I was taken here for my birthday and had no idea what I was walking into, my sister just said she made dinner reservations for my birthday. I think it's very rare to find a place that gives the experience that this restaurant offers. The food, the staff, the design of the space, it is all perfect.

Absolutely delicious! Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Service is impeccable-every dish is explained. We got new utensils every time we finished a dish and they even remembered that my boyfriend can't have carbonated drinks. The plates themselves are so beautiful. We were told that one of the plates is from Spain and cost $90. I absolutely enjoyed the sauces poured over the dishes. The only part I think was too much was the sourdough bread. They give you this bread in the beginning, but it can quickly fill you up, so you may not want to finish all of it to start. Since we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, they had a candle lit up for his dessert. It is about 11 courses with some appetizers and surprises at the end. Dishes: Margarita's Sourdough Fregula (salad with roe) Crudo (buttermilk, dill) Capeletti (uni, peas) Gnudo (kimchi, schug) Spaghetti (scallop, broccoli) Rigatoni (peppers, artichoke) Morel (the mushroom is my favorite!!) Agnolotti (lamb) Custard (in a bone marrow) Gelato (geranium, strawberry) Thank you cookies are given at the end. I highly recommend coming here for a special occasion! Reservations can be made in advance. We were so full and satisfied after coming here.

Have your mind blown or impress the hell out of someone special..... this is far beyond any normal high end dining experience, it's so memorable!

Bravo! The entire meal was perfection from start to finish. When asked what our fav dish was, we literally could not answer as it was too difficult. Chef Dan's food is inspiring and he is very engaging. You can tell that he and his staff take a lot of pride into their craft. The sommelier, Marc, was equally as personable. We decided to do the wine pairing and the history he provided behind each wine elevated the experience that much more. Calling all foodies, or anybody who appreciates a wonderful culinary experience, this is the place for you!

I'm certain that bad reviews are being deleted for this place. We came in hoping to have a pasta experience and were left super disappointed. This was definitely one of the worst, most overpriced meals I've had in Austin. Calling this place pasta bar is so odd considering, we had 2 dishes where we could actually distinguish pasta in the dish. Nothing stood out but more importantly, nothing tasted good. In fact, there were some dishes that actually tasted quite awful. The canapés left an awful acidic taste in my mouth that reminded me of vomit. The main courses had no flow and just felt like there was no theme to this menu. There were WAY too many fish dishes. The dessert fell flat and the snacks they serve afterwards just felt like this restaurant was doing too much without a theme and without any vision. Even the chocolate chip cookies they give you to take home were underbaked which is really hard to do to a chocolate chip cookie. On top of all that, the ambiance is abysmal. Tables and chairs looked cheap and uncouth, there was food on the ground under one of the tables at the front of the restaurant. At this price point, I would expect a spotless restaurant. Austin has way better restaurants, not sure what this place is doing on the Michelin guide, but given how terrible it was, it makes me question Michelin's integrity.

What a phenomenal experience. We decided to give Pasta Bar a go to celebrate a big occasion for my wife, and we absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the servers were extremely attentive to our every need. They very clearly are passionate about what they do, and you can see it in their customer interactions and the way they talk about each of the plates. The food was phenomenal as well. Each dish was very carefully crafted and coursed out with elaborate detail by the servers. Is the restaurant pricey? Yes. Are you served a ton of pasta? No (you are served a ton of courses and food though). Is the experience worth it? Absolutely.

First off, the ambiance and the service were spectacular. It was really cool to see the process unfold right before our eyes and to have the staff anticipate our every need. The food expanded our tasting horizon, we loved the loaf from 60 year old sourdough starter especially and the wine pairing to with the menu was perfect in every way. Our only 2 criticisms for the food are: (1) It is a lot! We found it difficult to finish towards the couple of courses, a good problem to have I suppose. (2) The vegetarian menu is creative but the use of eggplant on the last course was underwhelming, we felt it could have been cooked a little longer and softer. That said, this is an incredible experience and I highly recommend it.

More than just an amazing meal - a culinary dream! This experience was about passion for ingredients, service, ambience - it is simply unforgettable. Chef Joshua is well on his way to earning his Michelin star and you will find he is very open to answer questions about the plates and his culinary journey (starting from a young age). I don't want to spoil the experience by revealing too much about the plates but they were all incredible - my favorite was the last savory dish - wagyu that melts in your mouth! The sourdough bread was fantastic and you will want to keep some to sop up the sauces of each dish - especially the melted bone marrow! highly recommend the wine pairing as the sommelier is very knowledgeable and provided a wide range of styles to enjoy with the plates. every detail is expertly planned in this experience. They even had my favorite Marty Robbins playing on the music stream. Bravo to the whole team!

Simply amazing Omakase pasta experience. You sit in a sushi bar style setting with a perfect view of the kitchen and the chefs making their creations. Think Kitchen stadium on Iron Chef only more intimate. The chefs are busy making their masterpieces and will regularly present you each dish taking the time to explain what you are about to enjoy. In between there is plenty of banter with the head chef or Sommelier. The other chefs will occasionally join in on the discussions. The food is incredible. Every plate has a unique style and taste such that's it hard to compare it with anything you've ever tasted before. They constantly tinker with dishes and ingredients to make something unique and delicious. There is an attention to detail that will leave you spellbound. The price of the meal is steep but it's worth every penny when you consider the entire experience.

Pasta Bar is absolutely unreal. As others have said, it feels like being in The Bear. I know the "parent" restaurant in LA has a Michelin star, but now that we are getting the Michelin Guide in Texas, this location absolutely deserves it too. The food was creative and appropriately portioned for so many courses. The bread is delightful but don't fill up on it - you will need room for all of the pasta courses! Our menu included proteins like shrimp, chicken, trout roe, sea bass, and lamb. All were equally incredible. The standout feature is the service and experience. We were welcomed in by name and seated with a welcome cocktail and 4 off-menu canapés. We had no idea we would be moved into the kitchen for the main meal, so it was a VERY fun surprise when the sommelier brought us back! Through the entire meal, everyone was proud to present the dishes in front of us and made sure we were having a great time. We did not add on the wine pairings, so the sommelier helped us pick glasses to enjoy with the right part of the meal. I sincerely have never had a better dining experience. I am so excited to have this caliber of restaurant in Austin. GO!

Small 8 person seating omakase style room. Each dish is explained as it comes out. Super educated and friendly staff. We did not do the wine pairing but opted for a full glass of the kind of wine that we like and the options they had were lovely. The sourdough bread is homemade and amazing. Each of the dishes has a unique flavor and we enjoyed them all. They have a great small batch wine selection as well. We left feeling very full and happy. Fav dishes: the zuppa, crudo and agnolotti

What an incredible dining experience! This is perfect for a special occasion dinner or to impress some friends that come to town! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the food, wine, and drinks. They took our drink order by asking what we like and based the drink they created upon that. Service was truly top notch, the napkin was replaced every time someone went to the restroom. Also, each piece of utensil used for each dish was replaced each time for each dish, they must have went through hundreds of utensils for each sitting! The atmosphere was very chic and cool. The food was delicious and meticulously crafted. When I heard "pasta bar" I imagined multiple bowls of pasta but this was not that. It was very fancy pasta! My favorite was the fettuccine with truffle! This was a fantastic dining experience but it does cost you a pretty penny!

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

Getting in is very quick and efficient and once you're in you're greeted by live music and a fun open space to get drinks and hang out with friends. There are multiple different places to get drinks from which is nice as you can choose how long you would like to wait in a line. Drinks are not unreasonably priced and they were good as well. The ability to sit throughout the area, get up and dance, or just listen to music makes this a great spot to stay entertained for a while. We came when there was an event being put on by Zyn where they were giving out free drinks to nicotine users which was funny because why not get you hooked on nicotine AND alcohol. But seriously, there are typically food trucks and more things going on here but the Zyn trucks took up those spots which was a bit of a letdown but we're assuming that's just a one off event. Between a good band, decent drinks, and a good amount of seating options, this is a good spot to sit down with some friends and just vibe out for the night. We'd give it a recommendation if you're looking for something fun but not too much fun on a night on East 6th.
