Came back here, and got the duck confit salad again, which was even bigger than the first time. Crispy skin, seasoned tender meat, with a sweet schmear of a sauce on top. I got the melon, mango, prosciutto which was fine and overpriced for essentially a few small slices of fruit and prosprosciutto. My friend got the seafood risotto which was good. More like a stew though, but it was cheesy and decadent in the right ways. read more

This is an underrated French restaurant tucked away within the UES neighborhood. Came here on a Friday evening to meet with relatives, where we were seated on the 2nd floor of the dining area. It's a bit cramped, but it's comfortable and the AC was keeping us cool from the heat outside. They brought out but up baguettes and butter that was not rock hard, which is always a plus. For appetizers, we started off with Escargots ($18), which goes really well with the baguettes if you use the Escargot as spread instead of the butter. We also ordered the Tuna Tartare ($20), which was their special at the time. This consisted of seaweed salad on the bottom and the chopped up tuna pieces on top. They provided potato chips, which I found rather odd as they're very flimsy. I think pita chips would have been the better option. For entree, I ordered the Duck Confit ($33), which was really well prepared. Meat essentially fell right off the bone. I would recommend this dish here. read more

Don't waste your time dining at this Upper Eastside restaurant! Food quality and presentation very disappointing! While the restaurant is charming but dated. The service is not attentive and the wait staff appears to be waiting for instructions as to how to pour water and clear plates. Fortunately, NYC, offers many other dining options than Pascalou. read more

Lunch was so terrific we came back the next day for dinner. Lunch menu had some excellent choices, ranging from basic French fare ( scallops provençale, duck confit) to Indian/malaysian curry. Went for lunch during Restaurant Week 2026. The Caesar salad with pecans and apples was unique and quite good. The salmon was also great. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the chocolate mousse dessert. I don't drink, or like anything made with alcohol, and there was a sponge cake loaded with alcohol in the bottom of the dish. The chocolate mousse was great but for that. I think that they should somehow note that on the menu as it could be a problem for those who can't have anything with alcohol. Over all the meal was great though and I would recommend Pascalou. read more

Most of the customers seem to be grandmas and grandpas in the neighborhood, it was kinda cute to see them enjoying their date night. Very good French bistro featuring many classics with eclectic touches. The Cesar salad with walnut and olive was excellent. The veg risotto was perfectly cooked and the duck confit with a bit of five spice glaze was also really good. We dined in the Quonset hut as the restaurant is relatively small but full which is always a good sign. Staff were very nice and the prices were reasonable for the area. read more

A very small restaurant with an eclectic menu ranging from pasta to Indian to Thai to French. I was a little confused by the menu. The servers are very nice and it was crowded for a Friday lunch. I ordered the duck confit. The duck was very soft, and the skin was crispy. It seemed to be cooked well, but it was missing flavor. It was served with mashed potatoes, which was tasty. The mixed vegetables looked like the bag of frozen mixed veggies you can buy at the grocery store. Not much flavor but did not taste bad. Probably a hit or miss depending on what you order. read more

Stopped here the other night for my anniversary dinner and immediately upon sitting down asked for new water glasses because they were dirty but brushed it off because mistakes happen, but then when our wine came out it was in even dirtier glasses and then I noticed the cutlery literally had food on it, so I didn't even drink my drink or order a meal ended up going to costas a few doors down which had excellent service, food, and sanitary, which is the bare minimum. read more

I needed a place close by to the Guggenheim for the Museum Mile Festival and found this little neighborhood gem on Yelp. The reviews seemed positive and the food looked authentic yet unpretentious, so I made an early dinner reservation and was promptly seated in their outdoor area which was outfitted in chairs and tablecloth covered tables. We started out with the escargots gratinée ($17) which was more of a salad with crushed walnuts and escargots nestled atop a garlic buttered toast. I thought the toast was interesting but I do enjoy snails so no complaints from me. For the entrées, we ordered the scallops Provençal ($31) that sadly did not taste too fresh-- the scallops were slightly mushy-- but were basted in so much butter that it was really good. The ratatouille on the side was a nice nod to Provence. I had the roast salmon bearnaise ($27) which came with a braised endive and roasted tomatoes which complemented the fish well. We also ordered the beef short ribs ($30), amazingly filling especially with the mashed potatoes. Overall, I thought the dinner service was quite nice and definitely had a very charming and cozy neighborhood feel to it. I will be returning for a lunch when I'm in the area. Wait staff are lovely, and service was very good. Uinfortunately all three of us found our food to be mediocre. Also, I am sure some find the atmosphere to be homey and comfortable, but we found it to be claustrophobic and too hot. Maybe it was just a bad night. read more

We called on a Sunday for brunch and were disappointed that there was no availability. The hostess graciously called us back as we were attempting to make other plans for the day. The restaurant is small but intimate even for our party of 5. Our waiter was knowledgeable and informative when advising GF choices for our party. Plenty of varied dinner and dessert options for all dietary needs. Lamb chops, fish stew, duck and beef options were all spectacular. So happy to have found our new Carnegie Hill favorite. read more
