Turkey & Cheese Sandwich w side salad (To Go) -- fresh and so tasty!
    Scott J.

I've been here a few times and have always had a great experience. The baked goods and pastries are the star of the show here, but recently also tried the turkey sandwich and thought it was great too. The baguette is delicious and all the ingredients are super fresh, including the little side salad. The almond and chocolate croissant is my favorite pastry here, as well as the baguettes, and most of the sweets -- never had a bad pastry here. This place gets a bit busy for lunch, but service is always pretty good, you just might need to remind them to grab your Diet Coke, etc. No big deal, they always grab it with a smile. Ambiance is relaxed with outdoor and indoor seating, and though parking may be tough on South Beverly I always seem to score a decent spot on Charleville. This spot is a staple in Beverly Hills, and I always look forward to my visits here.

Had a blueberry muffin and a chocolate chip cookie under $10. Three something for the cookie and it was huge. I would definitely come back just for that.

04/14/2023 It's a nice quiet morning after a little rain, the sidewalks are clean. Entrance to Pascal looks inviting with outdoor patio seating in the front. A few tables with people enjoying not only conversations but their pastries with their coffee. One person waiting for his order and another person ordering a variety of pastries to fill a white box. All I want are two or three. Waiting for this lady to finish her order, I can still keep looking to pick out a few good ones I really want to try. The pear danish has custard underneath while the almond croissant has layers you know was filled with butter. The outside of each has this crispy crunchy thing going on with each bite. Flakey at the same time. A sip of your coffee would just wash away the delicious taste in your mouth so you hold out for a little longer.

The smoked salmon bagel was delicious, and the cappuccino was rich and satisfying. With a variety of baked goods and a great menu overall, plus incredibly welcoming baristas, I'll definitely be returning!

Small French bakery with food for breakfast and lunch Baguettes, pastries and deserts available I had to go order avocado toast with egg , unfortunately unreasonably overpriced They have outdoor seating and indoor None of the staff was smiling and welcoming. No music, that makes uncomfortable waiting time and it's too quiet

I'm not sure what to say other than it was a perfect sandwich. All of the ingredients were fresh, the flavors popped, all worked well together, the bread never got soggy, and the potatoes had such a nice spice on them. It was also a big portion that left me full the rest of the day. All good.

Very cute ambiance with outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you to our busser who cleaned the tables for us without us asking! He was also friendly with asking if we needed anything else. Food is great price for the portions. The bread is amazing and my salad was great. My friend got the egg salad sandwich with a salad and loved it. Will be back!

    Tasteless watery shakshuka. Horrible

Really a very bad experience and waste of money. The food was absolutely tasteless and watered down. The avocado toast was so basic and had no effort put into making it. The service is beyond horrible. When I asked for my latte to be remade, because it was made wrong, the server rolled his eyes and gave me attitude. There is so many better places on the same street that you can go and spend your money on. Food is horrible, the service is bad, and the place has no ambience.

Came in here for a quick treat and coffee - the ambiance is great - lots of natural light, bustling but not overcrowded, great views of Beverly Blvd for people watching and they have indoor/outdoor options. I ordered a small Mocha and apple tart - a bit disappointed they were out of the banana creme. There's no adequate menu affixed on any walls or chalkboards or any signage for that matter - to see the full menu, you have to pick up one of the clearly used to-go trifold menus. It's a little confusing and that would be my biggest recommendation to them. For example, I only ordered an Apple Tart and mocha - not knowing there were actually many other choices available. The apple tart was okay - soft and bits of salty sweetness here and there. I would have preferred a bit more time in the oven. Anyways, quick review, would come back for the great location and try other menu items.

Marinated medium flank steak & eggs. Properly cooked & tasty.

They've been here 2 years. Good stuff. We'll definitely be back. They've got indoor/outdoor dining now for Covid. The employees are friendly & attentive. The chocolate-almond croissant is a rich, delicious bomb. The pistachio croissant is far more subtle, flakey, & tasty. The marinated flank steak & eggs was great, cooked medium. They forgot to bring the delicious add-ons of cream cheese etc. for the side bread. That was ok as I used the crusty bread for the egg yolks, & brought the rest to mom. The crispy, thin garlic fries were nice, too. The schnitzel sandwich was big & tasty, with plenty of chicken, served with delicious roasted potatoes. I'll be back this week. Free 2 hour parking in the public lot less than 50 yards south.

The resto is nicely decorated & tidy. You screams Beverly Hills. The host was amazing. There is no dress code, they have both inside seating or the garden. Foods: i had a Caesar salad that was mediocre with 2 small dishes with mystery seafoods that were immediately sent back. The shrimp however was succulent, flavorful & to die for. Our food despite being appetizers took approximately an hour to come out mind you the place wasn't even busy. We waited like we were watching paint drying on the wall. Our server only showed up the time that he took our orders then return with the check. Hence why I didn't give it 5 star. I would certainly recommend it if you are not that hungry.

My friend chose to celebrate her birthday here with a tea party for 10 women, and it took nearly two weeks just to secure the reservation. Communication was slow and unresponsive. Her fiancé even tried to pre-order a bottle of champagne for the birthday girl, but they wouldn't accept payment over the phone, which made the process even more complicated. To make things worse, they mixed up the reservation time. They told us it was at 3:00 PM, but our confirmation texts clearly stated 2:00 PM. When we arrived at 2:00, the front-of-house staff was rude and told the waiter--right in front of us--that we had arrived too early, even after we showed proof of the confirmed time. That interaction really set the tone. We spend a lot of time in Beverly Hills and are used to high-end service, but this experience felt unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming. We were debating between here and The Peninsula and chose this spot thinking it would feel more modern, but the entire reservation process and day-of experience were disappointing. In all honesty, the space itself wasn't as impressive as we expected either. By the end, the tea party itself was cute, and our waiter was very nice, but overall, none of us would recommend it or return.

Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.
