I had a bad experience with a prior OBGYN and searched for another doctor in my network and found Dr. Alijore. His staff are all very polite, professional, and considerate. At first I was hesitant to have a male OBGYN but since my prior experience with a female OBGYN didn't go very well I decided to give it a try. Dr Alijore is very professional and kind. He has a very gentile demeanor and a funny sense of humor. He also has an excellent memory. One of the nurses stays in the room during the exam. Dr Alijore takes the time to listen to your needs/concerns and addresses them. I've been coming here for over 10 years and am very happy I made the switch. read more

This was the worst gynecological experiences I have ever had. Dr. Ajilore patronized me about personal grooming, my decision to be on birth control, and the frequency of sex I was having with my partner. He gave me one of the most PAINFUL pelvic exams I've ever experienced, and did not even see the problem that I was there for. I had to see my GP and Dr. Jick the following day because he said there was nothing wrong but I was still in extreme discomfort. I had to be immediately be put on doxycycline and metro gel for two terrible infections. No sure how he missed this. I would NOT recommend this doctor to any single young women. He was incredibly condescending, rude, unprofessional and had ZERO bedside manner. So happy to have received a bill for $100+ for nothing......... read more

Dr. Ajilore was referred to me by a bunch of friends back when I was having my first baby because they really enjoyed his care when they had children. I have always felt such great care and wisdom coming from Dr. Ajilore and consider it one of my greatest good fortunes that he has been a part of both of my pregnancies and even my pre-menopausal care and removal of certain organs I don't need any longer. Though I moved farther and farther away from his practice every few years, it was never any question that I would drive back to his care for my OB/GYN needs - even from the other end of LA County, Redondo Beach. read more

I have NOTHING but superlatives for this compassionate professional. I have been seeing him for over twenty years and now my daughter sees him as well. He is highly respected by his peers at Huntington Hospital which helps facilitate the prompt execution of procedures there. I love chatting with him during visits about everything from world events to cutting-edge medical developments. He is a mensch! read more

Dr. Manigat delivered my first baby in 2011. She was wonderful. As many other reviewers mentioned, she's patient, professional, soft-spoken, and makes you feel comfortable and listened-to. I much preferred her to Dr. Ajilore's mildly condescending manner. One thing I will note for expectant mothers -- this office's policy is to induce as soon as your due date passes. I went into labor 10 days early, but if I had been like many first-time moms whose babies stick around after their due dates, then I would have likely been induced. If this is a sticky issue for you, you may want to talk to Dr. Manigat about it on the front end rather than waiting until you are 40 weeks along. :) In short, I really enjoyed having Dr. Manigat as my OB and I'm sad they don't take HMO plans anymore so that I've had to find a new one! read more

The front office staff were always friendly and helpful. The bathroom where they send you to collect your urine is a PIA (no where to set a cup down - how are you supposed to juggle everything and keep it sterile?) I never met Dr. Ajilore, so I can't comment on him. The waiting room is dim and unpretentious. Not terrible, but not great. Garbage on the tv, bad background music. I saw Dr. Brandye Wilson-Manigat for a couple of years. She was responsive to my concerns and had no trouble sending me to specialists for specific issues/scares. I began seeing her for prenatal care in late December 2014 when I found out I was pregnant. Over the course of 4 months, I grew more and more comfortable with her as my doctor and in preparing for my first baby. Then BOOM, I was told at the end of a regular visit at the end of April that she was leaving the practice and would no longer be seeing patients. She's since vanished. The ensuing stress of scrambling to find a new doctor at 5 months pregnant with multiple high risk issues needing to be assessed on an ongoing basis was simply awful. I've heard from other medical professionals that Dr. Ajilore doesn't treat the other doctors in his practice well and they all end up leaving like that. And now the office is sending claims for multiple "surgeries" on dates that I wasn't even in their office to my insurance company that make absolutely no sense! I'm very happy with my new doctor - thank goodness - but the stress of dealing with such a sudden move in the middle of my pregnancy was terrible and now I have the added stress of dealing with billing issues (as my insurance company denied the claims). read more

Wow. Have you ever experienced unprofessionalism? Have you ever been MORE than uncomfortable in a Gyno Exam? If you haven't but you'd like to...head on into Pasadena Women's Medical. I used to be a patient of Dr. Battin. Yes he was uncaring, yes he didn't take too much time or effort in the exam...but he wasn't creepy or difficult. Dr.Battin retired because I think he was nearing 100 or something and all patients were referred to Ann Anzalone Nurse Practitioner. During my first exam with her, Ann suggested that the STD and HIV tests I wanted run were unnecessary. After I insisted that I didn't care and I wanted them anyways, she made sure not to bill my insurance and so that was $200 out of pocket without my knowledge while I was sitting there. During the exam she began asking personal questions about my family including "Has anyone in your family ever been molested"? Hmmm. This was after I already said I had never been and I had NO idea where she was going with this. She asked a slew of other inappropriate questions which she certainly wasn't writing down. In the waiting room I had referred a friend who I knew needed a new OBGYN and so I could get the $25 Trader Joe Certificate (which actually did arrive). After talking to my friend, I realized she had the same weird uncomfortable conversation about her sexual tendencies and family life. My friend went back this year and told me that Ann said she was middle aged and overweight. Again, she asked more inappropriate "sexual" position and habit questions. I concurred this lady was either on dope or a freak so I made a new apt this year with a new doctor. Low and Behold Women's Medical Group decided to deny my birth control refill once they heard I was transferring. Isn't this unethical? Isn't this lawsuit worthy if I get pregnant? Either way they were extremely difficult about refilling a 6 year prescription I have had and denied it unless I come in and see her again...even though I care not to and have made other arrangements. Something REALLY weird is going on here. read more

I had a very embarrassing and traumatic experience here. I had a panic attack as soon as I was in the car and cried for several hours after my appointment. Dr. Ajilore disregarded my complaints and interrupted me consistently to interject his own opinions about my desired birth control and lifestyle. He invalidated all of the reproductive pain I am experiencing and did not even let me discuss potential options for sterilization--something I've wanted since I learned about fertility and pregnancy. He insisted I would change my mind about having biochildren. In addition to this, I was not treated for my biggest issue that brought me to the gynecologst--sporadic pain and bleeding after 3 years of birth control--and was told to instead do sit ups and leg lifts. I was then made to exercise in front of him, which was humiliating and difficult for me to process emotionally. I have a history of disordered eating and compulsive exercising with episodes of binging, in which my latest episode brought me to be 148 lbs, 8 lbs overweight for my height. I don't view this as enough of a concern to spend most of my appointment discussing how I can exercise more (to lose weight, was the implication I perceived). If you are looking for a doctor that will guide you through pregnancy and delivery, he seems like the right type of doctor for you. If you are looking for the opposite, I recommend going elsewhere. P.S. everyone else on his team, the nurses and office workers, are absolutely wonderful. read more

Dr. Ajilore delivered both my children (as well as my niece and nephew) and I can't thank him enough for ensuring safe deliveries. I have been a patient for over 10 years and have never had any problems with the care they provided. He's always been very caring and attentive, taking time to explain everything. He uses analogies that help make sense of what can often times be complicated. I'm sorry to read about any negative reviews. Throughout the years, there have been doctors who came and went and I know he expected excellence from them. He's also a doctor who believes that medical care should be accessible to all. The office is smaller and I'm sure he's had to make cuts because of the new healthcare laws. Nonetheless, his practice is still a good one. read more

Dr. Manigat just recently delivered my baby and she is by far the greatest doctor I have ever encountered. Her professionalism and ability to put you at ease are just a few of her amazing qualities. I was always able to reach her if I had any questions or concerns and she definitely took her time to explain things to me. In addition her staff is amazing as well, super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

The most atrocious clinic I have ever been to. Rude and uncaring staff who takes your copay before you see one of the doctors! They know it's lame, but simply don't care. An outdated office with tiny exam rooms, old equipment and paper gowns instead of fabric ones. They do not give blood test results over the phone, but make patients come in, pay copays and waist time. About the doctors: Dr. Ajilore - inappropriate, uncaring and unsympathetic, talks politics to all of his patience just because he loves it, makes very creepy and offensive jokes and all he cares about is to make more money out of you. Tried really hard to scary me into having open surgery just because he was 100% sure that I needed one. Without even examining me or getting an ultrasound done right there in his office, he decided that I definitely needed surgery. He kept scaring me with terrible consequences even a possibility of having cancer. More testing proved that I was perfectly fine. Since that situation was resolved and Ajilore had no opportunity to do a surgery he completely lost interest in treating my other problem. Never said even a word about it. Did not even bother to do an annual exam. Dr. Manigat - nice and attentive doctor. Answered all my questions and spent enough time with me without rushing me out. It seems like their billing department had some improvements. I did receive a bill which was really confusing with the wrong amount charged and it had a threatening message about collection agency getting involved in case of a late payment. But they corrected the amount without any problems. Definitely not a fan of this clinic. read more

My mother and I love Dr.Manigat. So sad she's gone and I can't find her anywhere!! I'm a teenager and my mother is in her 50s and Manigat made us both feel comfortable despite the age difference. She was the first gynecologist I've ever had and as you can imagine I was nervous but she definitely made me feel relaxed and safe. If you're reading this Dr. please contact me so my mom and I can visit wherever you're practicing now! I've been trying to find a new doctor but I can't find any as professional as she is! I was referred to Dr.Ajilore once she left but he delivered me and I thought that would be kind of awkward . Also I prefer a female doctor. Hopefully I can find her!! read more

Pasadena Women's Medical Group - Great for kids while they wait for their Mommies - Obstetricians & Gynecologists Near Me - Pasadena, California

This incident really turned me off of gynecologist for quite some time. I cried after I left the office. I came here over 2 years ago and it's not an incident I will soon forget. I remember the long wait- they had me wait over and hour after my appointment in their dingy reception area. That's fine but what happened next was really not okay by any means. After they bring me into an examination room, they had me wait for a half hour in a paper gown with air conditioning blowing. By the time Doctor Ajilore came to see me, I was practically shivering. No one came to check up on me and let me know what was going on during that time. The entire appointment took about 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes, I felt completely violated by my doctor. He placed a speculum in me without warning me. He finished his exam and then briefly looked at the paper for incoming patients that asks for the reason you're coming into the office- plain and simple birth control. He then gave me a lecture on morality before proceeding to ask me what kind of birth control I've tried in the past and just prescribed the previous brand I used. Frankly, he didn't GAF. But this is a gift that keeps on giving. After this for a few months after, I kept getting bills even though I was on an HMO plan, paid my copay and this office was in network. This is what I discovered recently after talking with someone who knows more about healthcare. They probably billed me incorrectly seeing as my co pay was $20 because I got a bill later for ~160 dollars (even though I paid the co pay). Some offices, intentionally or unintentionally will bill an HMO patient incorrectly like they're out of network. In addition, they used their labs and ran a variety of tests and the lab sent me that bill later. All in all, it cost me ~400 out of pocket to get a prescription for birth control and violated. No thanks. There's a reason why you can get an appointment within a week. It's an awful awful place. read more

This place is GREAT. Relaxing atmosphere, fairly professional staff, and the best gynocologist I've ever had. Dr. Wilson-Manigat makes generally unpleasant procedures quick, relatively comfortable, and easy to understand. She did an awesome job explaining a somewhat frightening condition in a way that was clear, concise and still gave me a detailed account of what was happening and what I needed to do. I could not imagine better patient care. She even took the time to talk to me about my interests and give me a few pointers about pursuing a career in the medical field. My pelvic/abdominal exam became a brief anatomy lesson, which was helpful on so many levels. Dr. Wilson-Manigat is clearly very focused on her patients and what they need, and I really appreciate her methods. I would definitely recommend her. read more

I just went to see Dr. Manigat today and she was amazing! I'd recently had a really stressful experience with another OB/GYN and was kind of internally freaking out as I was waiting, but as soon as I met the doctor she put me at ease. As others have mentioned, she is very soft spoken, and she seems to really care and listen to you. She also seems to keep up well with new medications or perhaps lesser known therapies- although I researched my issue for weeks, she still suggested a couple of things I hadn't even heard of, including a medication that had only been out for a year or so. read more

I have never had a unpleasant experience at the Doctors office but the Pasadena Women's Medical Group was an AWFUL experience all in all so much so that we are switching Doctors. Here are a few examples: There is a huge lack of communication between the front desk staff, nurses and Doctors. For example, I get to the front and the front desk has me sign a form saying that my insurance may not cover papsmears or ultrasounds- kind of strange but OK. Then I get to my appointment with no advanced notice or communication and the nurse says they need a papsmear. The Doctor comes to the room, does my regular visit, still no pap, I ask about the pap saying the nurse mentioned we were doing it and the Dr. had no idea- "oh we're doing a pap, sure we can do that." Not a good patient experience needless to say. They have you sign that the amount due for your labor is due in advanced, up to $4000, but did not ask about my insurance or what that would cover, even though our insurance has informed us that our labor costs through our HMO is 100% - seems like a bad Doctors office or bad practice to me and like it is a money making business. Yet, another reason we are switching Doctors. They said I was "required" to do state CA blood screenings, but when I got my THREE bills even though my blood was only tested once, they were for rare diseases such as Hexosaminidase ($450), and CFTR CMN whatever that is for ($995). Just one of these bills for the same lab tests was over $1700 for blood work? Mind you insurance pays some of this, so our bill is a few hundred dollars still but this still seem steep for tests that I do not even know what they are and felt like I was forced to do. Worse yet, when I called the billing department to ask about these charges the billing dept. asked if it was because I lost a baby. NOPE, I did not, but that is an incredibly rude and unprofessional question for the billing department to ask. I could give more examples, but how about just take my advice and STAY AWAY! read more

I was a nervous wreck when I walked in the door and relaxed when I left. Dr. Ajilore has kind, intelligent eyes and wonderful "people skills." He didn't rush me out the door. He listened to my concerns. He explained my medical situation clearly and with empathy. He told me what to expect and the next steps to be taken. During the exam, he was gentle and tried to put me at ease. His staff was courteous. His office was clean. I wasn't kept waiting forever and a day. I felt like I was treated with respect and kindness. I hope that others reading the reviews for this medical group will take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. I was very glad to see a caring, knowledgeable physician. read more

This place is amazing. I have been looking for a gyno for awhile that I felt comfortable with and it just never happened. Most of them ignored the concerns I had about my health. Dr. Manigat changed all that she took the time to listen to me and help me figure out what was going on with me. She didn't ignore the concerns I had about my fertility just because I'm not currently trying to have children. She has gone above and beyond and I've recommended her to many of my friends. read more

I'm really happy Dr. Brandye Wilson Manigat is gone!! I never went back, ended up in emergency room because of her. This doctor does NOT care about her patients and I hope her next location patients are warned about this women. There's too much to type. Everyone beware of this doctor. read more

I had a serious billing problem with this doctor's office. Dr. here was not my doctor, he assisted my two surgeries, and billed me ~$1500 which they shouldn't. The accounting dep. there is very rude and unprofessional. They did not want to speak with medical group or insurance company. So I had to call and made medical group/insurance company to contact them. Every time I contacted insurance company, I was told they should not bill me, and things were taken cared. But I kept having bills. Finally, I appealed this to the insurance company, and insurance company sent a letter to them: do not bill to patience, not patient's responsibility. However, they did not stop sending me bill. What's funny is they attached the do not bill to patience letter from insurance company (Did they actually read the letter?). What was worse is, there was a little note that, it would go to collection, if I do not make payment. I called the accounting dep., and lady their yelled at me, "somebody got to pay it!" So I called the insurance company again, and had a conference call. They even yelled to the representative of insurance company.(How unprofessional!) Anyway, my billing problem was resolved by the insurance company (don't know they paid or not.) after 6 months of fighting over the bill. I don't like the fact that the accounting dep. did not work hard to deal with insurance company to get paid, instead forcing patient to pay with a little note of "going to collection." If this matter was not resolved before going to collection, I might pay from my pocket not to ruin my credit. There must be many patients to pay them not to ruin their credit at the end. The amount is not small, but not big neither to have stress over the bill and ruin the credit. read more

I have been going to this clinic for about 11-12 years now. The entire staff is incredibly professional and friendly. For my annual exams I am usually seen by Anne, the Nurse Practitioner. She has NEVER been unprofessional and, the usual discomfort aside, has always made me feel comfortable during the exam. All her questions are relevant to the visit and she is able to answer your questions with knowledge, professionalism, and warmth. I was also treated here by Dr. Ebenezer Ajilore through an extremely difficult pregnancy. His mannerism was that of a stern uncle who really cares for you. I credit him for the health of my son. I very easily could have ignored his advice but he was always sure to make it clear how important it was for my health and of my baby to follow his directions. Also, this being my second pregnancy but the first carried to full term, I had many questions and concerns which he ALWAYS took the time to address. We will be forever grateful for his care during this time. read more

I've been a patient of both Anne Anzalone and Dr. Managet-Wilson and my review is based on my experiences with these two doctors for my pap-smears. When I first joined this clinic, I was appointed to Anne and my experience with her wasn't too bad. It wasn't anything great or horribly bad. I really can't remember anything significant. The next times that I went, I made appointments with Dr. Managet-Wilson. I didn't ask for the change, they just gave me an appointment with her and I happened to really like her so I ended up requesting her nowadays. Dr. Managet is amazing. I have to say she is so professional and friendly. It's not awkward at all being with her and she's really approachable. She's soft-spoken and you can tell she's very caring. She made sure my pap-smear went as smooth and painless as possible. And she was so open to all my questions, even though I felt like I was taking too much time asking redundant questions. I guess the difference between Anne and Dr. Managet would be that Anne feels a little patronizing. Even though my visit with Anne was pretty normal, now that I can compare it to my visits with Dr. Managet, I do have to say that I feel like Dr. Managet is more caring and listens more. One other thing, I was trying to get the HPV shot and as a precaution I inquired about the insurance/billing issue. As it turns out, the clinic bills me personally first and then my insurance reimburses me. I didn't think that's very secure for my part so I opted not to have it done there. Just make sure to ask how they deal w/ insurance/billings before doing anything out of your ordinary routine checkup. read more

I've been a patient at Pasadena Women's clinic for over five years. I've had my annual exams done there by NP Anzalone and a successful pregnancy and vaginal delivery with Dr. Ajilore. My appointments were always prompt, the staff there is excellent and professional. I have a few nitpicks, such as, Dr. Ajilore will not attend a natural (non-medicated) birth and there was some disagreement on my due date that took some time to get corrected and my biggest issue, I received an episiotomy without prior notification. Overall though, I would recommend the practice. Dr. Ajilore has a ton of experience, is great with answering questions and keeping new parents calm, and when my son was admitted to the NICU, he visited me every day that I was in the hospital and was very reassuring. read more

I searched high and low for a good OB-GYN in Pasadena. Didn't want to drive to far. I found Dr. Brandye Manigat and made an appointment. I wasn't sure what to expect since I found her on the Internet. Dr. Manigat was extremely professional, polite, knowledgeable and seemed concerned about my well being. She was patient and allowed me to ask all types of questions. I left her office feeling like I had a complete exam. Dr. Brandye Manigat is young, smart, cute and knows her stuff and comfortable with the latest technology. Dr. Manigat even called me a few days later with results from my exam -- everything was great. I've referred several women to Dr. Manigat and think she's an awesome DOC! read more

My experience here wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I have now changed doctors and don't plan on coming back. The office doesn't necessarily make you feel comfortable - the waiting room is dark and not inviting at all. Inside it looks like your average outdated doctor's office. Unlike my current doctor that provides you with cloth gowns, here you get your usual paper gown that makes me feel even more anxious about the whole experience. The doctor was gentle and friendly at first, but she's not very compassionate or caring about delivering not so great news. I would go somewhere else if you want an empathetic, caring doctor. I would say this place is average. read more

Dr Ajilore is why I do not step foot in that office. Both trips involved embarrassment and not getting the questions I had answered. I learned random facts (that were not pertinent to the reason I made an appointment) such as not wearing jeans, ensuring I properly exercise, and not letting my current boyfriend get away without a marriage proposal ("why buy the cow when you're letting him get the milk for free" were his EXACT WORDS). Even the nurse who was in the office with us laughed at his jokes with unease. And I get trying to lighten the mood, but the nature of the situation didn't need the additional jabs. I felt worse leaving than when I arrived. And to top it off, the second time I visited, I was misdiagnosed. Getting a second opinion (something I never do because I tend to trust my doctor the first time around) helped me get to the bottom of what really was wrong. All in all, I'm was upset with his behavior (which may come off pleasantly erratic to some but simply unprofessional for me) and the lack of information I received when I had concerns and questions. read more

I am very overdue in this review but I didn't have a positive experience with Dr. Ajilore and do not recommend him for basic gynecological services. I came in concerned about severe cramps, wondering if I had endometriosis. Instead, I was told confidently that I was most likely pregnant (when I was not), was asked if I was married to my boyfriend (I am not) and was told that if I was going to go and get pregnant, I should be married, because otherwise men would "run away." This was all totally jarring, especially while I was in my gown and on the exam table. He told me about how I could keep my baby and such when there was no baby involved, which totally freaked me out, and we didn't ever really address the possibility of endometriosis. There was also a comic on the wall listing the "seven dwarves of menopause," which included drawings of women named "Bloaty" and "Bitchy" (I am not sure if this is still up, as I visited nearly a year ago, but I found it totally inappropriate). Anyway, I left feeling very uncomfortable and unhelped. I'm sure he's excellent at delivering babies, but young single women who are looking for a helpful gynecologist should look elsewhere. read more

I've been Dr. Ajilore's patient for about 5 plus years. In fact, I require a plane trip to attend my appointments, but he is worth every mile and every penny. Years ago, I was misdiagnosed leaving me to have surgery. I interviewed multiple OBGYN surgeons and felt most confident with Dr. Ajilore. His knowledge, approach and bed side manner has made all the difference in my health. I look forward to the years to come under his care. Thank you Doctor for treating my like a Queen and for being one of the best Doctors I've ever met!! read more

Dr. Ajilore delivered my baby. He is a great doctor, and cares a great deal about your baby and is a no risk doctor when it comes to deliver your baby safely. With that said, he would induce you as early as 37 weeks just to be sure you will have a safe baby. However, induce at 37 weeks seems too early for anyone, but I still went thru it and the baby came out fine. He is a great doctor, but sometimes it's hard to understand what he's saying, since he either speaks too fast or unclear on his words. Other than that he is a very caring doctor. He cares about your well being and safety of your baby. One thing I do not like is that this office sometime makes you wait a long time even though you are on time or show up earlier for your appointments. If there's a delay, there should be a courtesy call to tell you that you will be seen late, instead of just keep you waiting. I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule since I couldn't wait that long. And just doesn't seem fair to wait that long when I was on time for my appointment. read more
