This review is long overdue! I've been a patient of Dr. Mitri for almost 12 years and I must say he's the only OBGYN that has ever made me feel comfortable (I've had lots of awkward experiences with other OBGYN's). I'm very thankful Dr. Mitri has helped and delivered all three of my pregnancies. I recently became pregnant with my fourth child and by week 8 I was feeling off - I completely went from feeling good and happy to all of a sudden feeling grief/loss. I immediately messaged Dr. Mitri and he assisted me with a list of doctors that would help guide me through my depression. Unfortunately, my gut feeling was correct. On my 12 week ultrasound my baby was not developing well. He had a lot of abnormalities. Dr. Mitri gave me guidance on my pregnancy and referred me to a specialist. Sadly, at my 16 week ultrasound following my cvs negative results we noticed the baby did not have a heartbeat. Dr. Mitri was so compassionate and assisted me in coordinating with the hospital to getting me induced and delivering the baby. I cannot thank Dr. Mitri and his staff enough for all the love and guidance . Dr. Mitri has been very supportive and has given me hope for future pregnancies. I highly recommend Dr. Mitri! Dr. Bui and Dr. Mitri filled in for our regular OBGYN from FOWH when she was out on vacay. They got us through a 50-hour failed induction turned c-section and delivered our son on 7/8! They did the c-section together, but Dr. Bui was the one we saw the most in the hospital. Dr. Mitri came to check on us during the induction process and he officially checked us out of the hospital, too. He was super nice and informative and made sure we had all of our concerns addressed. Be prepared to wait over an hour for your appointment. They ask you to come in early but make you wait 1.5 hours. The nurses are rude and unprofessional. Appointments are 2 months + out. Nothing special or excellent to wait this long. NOTHING. I've been here for years and with this doctor you ALWAYS, always have to wait. To top it off the office small and over crowded and you'll have to wait standing up. I had to wait and keep asking when it was my turn until I asked they told me they needed a urine sample, after waiting 1.5 hours. If I wouldn't have asked they would have me waiting. It has come to my attention of a survey I was optionally given in regards to bedside manner and so forth. Before seeing Dr. Mitri, I sought a OB from Kaiser. That Doctor belittled my questions. Dr. Mitri has a natural skill to welcome any questions and answer without judgement. He demonstrates respect when explaining any next step in what ever reason for the visit. Dr. Mitri is the BEST. I love him. Long post. I haven't been in since the pandemic hit, but I know the office follows special protocols where you have to wait in your car until they are ready for you to minimize how many are on the office at once and I think they also do temperature checks. I wanted to share my experience with Dr Mitri. I came to him in early 2018 after having to go to the hospital due to severe pain near my ovary which they suspected could be ovarian cyst rupture. I was advised to find a gynecologist ASAP for continued care. I called around and had trouble finding someone and all the doctors recommended to me were male. I wasn't sure I wanted to see a male gynecologist. But I eventually contacted FOWH and the receptionist or nurse who answered said she would ask their network of doctors if someone could squeeze me in. Dr. Mitri agreed to see me. He had good reviews, so I took a chance. From the beginning, he was kind, compassionate, and listened to my concerns with genuine sympathy. He did a full exam and we talked about the possibility of endometriosis. It was the easiest women's exam I'm ever had and I usually had very painful exams. He prescribed a pill for me and we tried it out to see if all of my symptoms would improve. It didn't work and the pill caused excessive bleeding, so we tried another one. It stopped bleeding but did nothing for my pain, which by then became daily uterine pain even when I wasn't on my cycle. We discussed surgery and I agreed. We would try to remove the endometriosis. Then during my surgery, he discovered the problem was actually my uterus which was red, swollen and showed signs of adenomyosis. He advised a hysterectomy (which is the only 100% cure for that condition). He asked if I wanted to try for children first. I took a few months to think about it, read as much as I could about the condition, got a second opinion so that my insurance would take my case seriously and approve surgery. My partner and I decided we would proceed with the surgery rather than trying to conceive. I was in a lot of pain and it was awful. It's like going into labor every month, from what I've been told by many women who have this disease and have given birth. My daily pain got so bad that I had horrible sciatica/back pain, I had to use the restroom every 40 minutes and walking more than two blocks was painful and uncomfortable. I had the second surgery within six months of the first one. All through the process, Dr. Mitri was kind, patient in answering all of my questions and my fiancé's questions. He shoved away the nurse trying to take him to another patient until he adequately addressed all of my surgery concerns. He also performed my surgery himself rather than referring me to another surgeon. He is a specialist in laparoscopic surgery. I would be absolutely miserable if I had not found Dr. Mitri. He gave me truly compassionate care and while my insurance was a nightmare, he was absolutely great. I feel so much better and he gave me my life back. I haven't gone to see him in a long time due to the pandemic, but I look forward to going back this year because he's such a great doctor. Thank you so much, Dr. Mitri. read more

Avoid this doctor and choose from one of the many more reliable options in the area. I understand that the Covid-19 situation makes it difficult for care providers, but for a simple annual exam, I was rescheduled THREE TIMES: The 1st excuse was apparently because Dr. Mitri decided to take vacation and moved all of his appointments to the next month. The 2nd excuse was apparently because annual exams were considered lower priority; I was called just the day before my appointment to be informed of this. The 3rd excuse was because he was delivering a number of babies that morning; this is understandable but a reflection of his popularity and how it doesn't allow him to allot enough time to all his patients. Once at the FOWH office, I then waited a total of 2 HOURS to be seen (I'm including wait time in lobby plus wait time in the exam room after being seen by his assistant Amanda, who is awesome). While I was waiting in the lobby, I overheard 2 other patients talking to each other about how long they've been waiting for Dr. Mitri too and how this happens frequently. During my consultation, Dr. Mitri was crass and as another Yelp reviewer has mentioned, when I showed concerns about my condition, he said "as long as you're not a sex worker then you have nothing to worry about." He mentioned he would provide notes and tips on how to handle my condition in the report he was writing up for me, but once I logged onto my Athena account after the appointment was over, lo and behold, my report was completely blank. It's frustrating and potentially dangerous when you plan and prepare for an appointment and have genuine concerns about your health, only to have a crappy doctor and experience. read more

The hype is real! I don't think there are enough words to describe how amazing of a doctor Dr. Mitri is. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and professional, he has incredible bedside manner and is very receptive and compassionate. He has been there for me and my husband throughout our road to parenthood-- through both the good and bad times. I'm writing this review as I hold my newborn baby and it just makes me appreciate Dr. Mitri even more since he was there from the beginning and guided us to where we are today. It's easy to praise a doctor when everything goes right, but Dr. Mitri's character and professionalism was truly exhibited when things didn't go our way about 2 years ago. Unfortunately, our first pregnancy ended in an unexpected and unexplainable loss. Dr. Mitri's compassion during this rough time was unparalleled. He provided comfort and showed empathy, listened to our concerns and ran a series of tests to try to determine a cause. In the end, no cause was found and he gave us recommendations of when we could try again. I should have written a glowing review back then since I was so taken aback by his kindness and support during that time. Two years later and we were again in Dr. Mitri's office, obviously anxious about our second pregnancy, but only trusting him and no other doctor to guide us through. Dr. Mitri was genuinely happy for us. He again showed empathy since he knew what we had been through previously, took extra care in answering my list of questions at every visit, and was proactive and kept a close eye on everything. My second pregnancy included some issues especially towards the end, but Dr. Mitri remained steadfast, confident and calmed my nerves. He even showed up at 2 in the morning when I had premature contractions. It ended up being a false alarm and about a week later, he expertly delivered my baby via scheduled c-section (baby was breech). It felt so special to hold my rainbow baby, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmingly grateful to Dr. Mitri and his team for helping us get through the past few years. Dr. Mitri is a super intelligent, warm and receptive physician, and he just goes above and beyond always. As a healthcare provider myself, I can honestly say that he is truly exceptional, and that I'd recommend him to my friends, family and colleagues any day. read more

I am Extremely lucky to have Dr.Mitri as my doctor throughout my second pregnancy and labor. He is an incredibly skilled, knowledgeable and kind doctor. He always goes above and beyond to make you feel supported even if he's very busy he will make time for you. He went out of his way to make sure I could speak to the head anesthesiologist before I went into labor to I could ease my nerves. (I had a tough experience during my first pregnancy). I can't say enough about Dr. Mitri. He is not only the best OBGYN I've had, but the best doctor I've had. He is so compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable. I have endometriosis and after over 10 years of being brushed off by other doctors, he diagnosed and treated me. He's a skilled surgeon and I recovered quickly (with no complications and virtually no scars)! This helped me to become pregnant and he saw me through my first 20 weeks of pregnancy including all my neurotic emails in the first trimester. I have never once felt rushed with him. I transferred to midwives at a birth center because I wanted a natural unmedicated birth and thought that would be better suited for that, but I was torn and actually cried leaving him. Maybe blame that on the hormones? Midwives set the bar VERY high for their compassion and thoroughness of care, but Dr. Mitri is right up there with them. I came back post pregnancy for routine gynecological services and he was great as ever. I also suffered a miscarriage and of course he was so empathetic and empowered me with choices on how to proceed. I now am in his care for a high-risk pregnancy and he has been fantastic every step of the way. The ultrasound technicians are also very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. The front desk has always been just fine, and the medical records department has been very speedy and friendly. Yes, there can be some long waits, but it's to be expected from doctors who take their time with their patients and respond to emergencies. One time Dr. Mitri had to leave mid-appointment to go deliver a baby, and he came back apologizing. Dude, you just a brought a life into the world - no need to apologize! I've recommended Dr. Mitri to all my lady friends and they have all been so happy with his care too! He is truly the best (my husband even says it all the time). I delivered my first child in January 2018. She was breech and I didn't have any choices other than C-section. My planned C-section was scheduled in the noon and I thought that I was the second appt for him. Well, it turned out that I was the fourth person that Dr. Mitri delivered a baby for. Everyone including nurses and doctors seemed to be hurried to make it work and it made me really nervous. My baby was born healthy and I was happy - But I got to know that Dr. Mitri didn't even remember that it was a girl. I guessed he was way too busy with too many patients. The worst part was that I developed infection afterward and showed my incision to the doctor in my check-up. He said that it was okay and sent me back home. IT WAS NOT OKAY - I could see yellow discharge all over on my underwear. Severe skin rash hit and my thighs and incision area were extremely itch. So eventually I sent a picture to him via email (I couldn't to get in touch with a right person in the office, they really had inefficient receptionists) and he asked me to come back next day. After long hours of waiting, he saw the wound and admitted that it was infection. The wound was about 4 inches (10 cm) and so deep, So for the next 3-4 weeks, I needed to go to hospital to do the packing every single day. It was really hard to do especially with a newborn and without much help other than my husband. They said that it was rare to develop infection after a planned c-section and I was unlucky (I found statistics under 1 percent) But now I think that Dr Mitri's little attention to low-risk pregnant women like me brought unnecessary infection. It might have been my fault that I trusted this doctor without a doubt. I had to know better when it was all hand-shaking 2-3 minutes appts with him saying "everything looks good." read more

I came to Dr. Mitri on a whim after finding out I had a cyst on an ovary. I just happened to become pregnant 3 months later and continued to see him throughout my pregnancy. He is always in a good mood, and very willing to answer questions. He caught that my son may have IUGR and made sure we were closely monitored the last few weeks of my pregnancy. He didn't end up being the doctor to deliver my son because he had a family emergency, but I would definitely like to see him for my next pregnancy if possible, and would recommend him to anyone I know. read more

Lost my pregnancy due to unprofessionalism of Dr. Mitri. I encourage everyone to find different place and different doctor, who will care about you and your test results! I scheduled my appointment for August in June 2019 , we planned to start a family and I was looking for doctor to make full check and make sure I'm healthy and my feature baby will be healthy. We already tried for few months and I still wasn't pregnant, this was another concern. Came to see a doctor Mitri in August, he spent 10 minutes with me, scheduled few blood tests and said I'm fine, I'm healthy I will be ok. Few months later I did few tests at their clinic "Fair Oaks Woman Health", no one ever called me to talk about my results, I spent hours googling trying to understand if everything looks fine. Called them again to schedule another appointment but earliest date I could see a doctor was end of January.. Unfortunately, I felt pregnant in few weeks, called them again and they told me again that I can see dr. Mitri not earlier than in January, I couldn't wait 3 months to find out if my baby is fine, found another doctor, who run all tests and found that I have thyroid issues. I spent 4 months reading books, and looks like it's one of the tests that normal doctors do , if you planning a pregnancy. Dr Mitri scheduled multiple tests for me, but never told me I have autoimmune issues. I lost 5 months of my life and my pregnancy, every day I wake up thinking that it was biggest mistake in my life to schedule an appointment with dr. Mitri. I could find different doctor and my baby would be alive right now. Honestly it's the worst clinic and worst experience in my life, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I am writing this review with my healthy and happy almost twelve week baby boy on my lap that Dr. Mitri delivered. I switched to Dr. Mitri when I was six months (!) pregnant because I didn't like the doctor I was seeing. Immediately upon meeting Dr. Mitri I knew I made the right choice in switching: his bedside manner was amazing, he was knowledgable and took time to get to know me as a patient and person. I had a pregnancy that was flagged as high risk so I ended up visiting FOWH twice a week. Each time I saw Dr. Mitri, he was always willing to answer any questions and address any concerns I had and made sure I felt comfortable contacting him anytime. Fast forward to the day of my delivery, I dilated super quick and was pushing for two hours when the L&D nurse decided to call Dr. Mitri in because I was not progressing and my baby's heart rate was dipping. Dr. Mitri came in at 2am in the morning and respected my desire to not have a c-section unless medically necessary. He slowly explained all options to me and we decided to continue pushing for an hour and try pitocin since my contractions had slowed down significantly. During the pushing, he was so full of energy, was so encouraging and such a great cheerleader. Unfortunately, I still did not progress and in the middle of explaining the option of an episiotomy to me, my sons heart rate dipped again. Dr. Mitri remained calm and made the decision to have an emergency c-section. In the end, baby boy is here and healthy and so am I. Recognizing that I had a tendency to develop keloids, Dr. Mitri made an extra effort in stitching up my scar and I have healed to the point where you can hardly tell I had major abdominal surgery. During my stay (which was really long due to baby having jaundice and other issues), he checked in with me in person everyday and on days he was not on call, he called me to let me know and made sure i was fine. One of the nurses at Huntington commented that Dr. Mitri has a lot of patients and patience and he was very well liked. After discharge, I had some questions about scar when it was healing and he squeezed me into his crazy busy schedule to take a look at my scar the very next day (it was fine, I was just paranoid). Dr. Mitri also handled my son's circumcision and my sons pediatrician commented that it was one of the best work she's seen (haha). read more

I saw Dr. Mitri for the first time after deciding that my previous gyno seemed to be lacking. Dr. Mitri was fantastic! I was most impressed with the ample amount of time he spent speaking with me about my health concerns. Most doctors rush in and out so quickly, you don't feel like you got to ask all of your questions or address any issues you may have, and you're left feeling like the Tazmanian Devil just flew through. Dr. Mitri made me feel like I was his only patient and he had all the time in the world. This was my first experience with a male gyno and I have to admit, I had some trepidation before going in. But he was gentle, walked me through every step of the process and I never felt uncomfortable. I'm so happy to have a new gyno that I know is looking out for my best interest! I found doctor Mitri on Yelp in hoping that service and care I would receive from him and his staff would be high quality. But unfortunately it's totally the opposite! Don't get me wrong, the front desk staffs were super nice and friendly, and always picks up the phone, unlike Dr. Mitri's assistant Amanda. Meeting Dr. Mitri in person was pleasant, he's nice and friendly, it's almost like, even though I felt-wronged but he's so friendly to me in person I just couldn't say anything to him. The work became more detailed after a couple of visits, Dr. Mitri and his assistant Amanda just became very "MONEY HUNGRY". What kind of doctor wouldn't release a patient's test results over the phone or email when it's normal? They insisted on me going back for another doctor visit to explain the result in person. (So he could bill another doctor's visit?) I was worried and called Amanda several times, she responded very slowly and was very impatient over the phoned, didn't give me any information. Luckily, one day was Amanda's day off, another nurse responded and looked at my test result for me, I felt better after that. Just to find out what Dr. Mitri wanted to say to me in person I still went to that doctor's visit. There was nothing he said to me in person couldn't have been explained over the phone. I went to another doctor after with the same result, the other doctor told me what Mitri explained to me was partially incorrect. Not sure how he got such high rating on Yelp. I really wanted to make an appt with Dr. Fong but she was booked for a few months so I relunctanly agreed to see Dr Mitri instead. As soon as I met Dr Mitri I knew I made the right decision. He was knowledgeable, caring, funny and so easy to talk to. I had a high risk pregnancy and he was there to help ease all my worries from beginning to end. He always took the time to listen to my concerns and answered all my questions without ever rushing me. He is hands down the best physician I've ever had. I can't recommend Dr Mitri enough and I can't wait to come back to him once we've conceived (we will need to see a fertility specialist) He is kind, caring, attentive, and so knowledgeable. He really explains things in a way that you understand and never has rushed me, he's just very humane and approachable . Dr. Mitri great Doctor. Went about 2 weeks ago to see him for the first time. His front desk not that great. Been calling back and forth for the past week and the phone just keeps ringing and ringing. The day of my visit before I left I was waiting to check out and the phones kept ringing and ringing and no one bothered to answer the phones. Until I finally said, "is anyone going to answer the phones" and all the girls looked at me and only one answered the phone. Dr. Mitri is permanently a part of our family. He is the best OBGYN I've ever had. In fact, he's the best doctor I've ever had. I can't say enough good things about him. Dr. Mitri was there for me through my first pregnancy/miscarriage. He was so so so kind and supportive during one of the most difficult times of my life. When I got pregnant again, he held my hand through every worry I had. I was extra paranoid because of the previous miscarriage. He was again so supportive and whenever I had questions or concerns, he would answer them quickly. He responds to e-mails when he's not with patients and that really helps. I had a wonderful pregnancy and delivery. He made everything so pleasant and the thought of being pregnant again with his as my doctor comforts me. I wouldn't want to go with any other doctor. It was such a smooth delivery and he made sure everything was perfect. He understood my concerns and requests. Even the stitching up part was perfect. He never made me feel fat and never said anything to make me feel bad about myself. Granted, I didn't gain too much weight during my pregnancy, but I'm not exactly the fittest person. I always hear my friends telling me how their OBGYN told them to watch their weight. I never felt that with him. Feeling fat (because of your doctor) during a prenatal visit is not ideal. Not only is he great - his staff and everyone at Fair Oaks Women's Health is so great. They're all so sweet and accommodating. Every aspect of having him as my doctor is perfect. Everything from my visits to making an appointment to even getting prescriptions is so pleasant! Aside from being pregnant and having a baby, Dr. Mitri is the perfect OBGYN. I have seen many OBGYNs in the past and he is far superior than any of them. One would think that having a female OBGYN would make pap smears and annual exams more comfortable, but that's not the case. He actually makes pap smears comfortable and not painful. I just got a pap smear done with him a couple weeks ago and I barely noticed. He just makes the process comfortable considering a metal contraption is being used. No more dreading annual exams if you have Dr. Mitri. I highly recommend Dr. Mitri, Fair Oaks Women's Health, and Huntington Hospital. I just had my first appointment with Dr Mitri. He is straightforward, kind, has A+ bed side manner, and makes you feel better in tough/uncomfortable situations. Finding long term physicians can be a lot of trial and error, but I can see myself establishing care with him for several years to come. I found Dr Mitri on Yelp and actually considered him for my first pregnancy. However, due to my friend's recommendation, I went with her OB instead for my first pregnancy. As chance may have it, the day I delivered my firstborn through an emergency C-section, Dr Mitri assisted my OB during the procedure. So, for my second child, I decided to change doctors to see Dr Mitri instead. Dr Mitri is always a pleasure to see during each visit-he is always happy, in a great mood, knowledgeable, and has great bedside manners. We successfully delivered my second child last week, and everything was so much less stressful this time around as it was planned perfectly. So glad yelp led me to Dr. Mitri. He is, by far the best obgyn doctor I've had. He is so personable, takes the time to meet and talk with you and isn't in a rush to get you in and out. He tells you exactly what he's going to be doing and makes you feel comfortable. The office is nice and clean and the receptionist and nurses are very friendly. Another big plus is, he has a phlebotomist @ his office, no more going 2 a different office/location for blood work. read more

Very disappointed in the their schedule handling. I called to schedule and appointment and let them know I am experiencing abnormal pregnancy symptoms. The girl on the phone tells me to come in in TWO WEEKS! And she said their procedure is that I have to have a consultation with the nurse practitioner first over zoom first and then she can schedule me with the doctor after the consultation, I wouldn't even get to see the doctor or get examined even tho I told her I have abnormal symptoms. Good thing I went somewhere else or else waiting all this time I could have had serious complications. Do not recommend this place as they just seem money hungry and do not care for your well being. read more

A friend recommended Dr. Mitri when we found out we were expecting. Dr. Mitri is smart, empathetic, and highly professional. We have enjoyed working with him, and welcoming our son into this world. Unlike other medical doctors, he has excellent bedside manner; this goes along way, particularly when the topic is your unborn child. We found him very receptive to all our questions and requests. This is my first Yelp review in a long long time but considering I found Dr. Mitri off Yelp it seems only fitting. I'll start by saying Ive only ever had a female Gynecologist and had several reservations about having a man, especially since I was looking immediately after getting pregnant for the first time. I called Fair Oaks women's Health to book an apt with one of their female Drs, but because they were unavailable the receptionist suggested Dr. Mitri. Yikes I thought, a man? I don't know why this matters, it honestly doesn't, I just had always had women and that was my comfort zone. She suggested I go online and read his reviews on Yelp, and if I felt comfortable to call back and we could make the appt. Ok I don't know if you have done dr. Research on Yelp, let alone for an OBGYN in Pasadena, but I have to tell you I looked everywhere before selecting fair oaks women's health and the reviews of various other practices were ALWAYS scattered. Some positive some negative, nothing was across the board either way making it extremely difficult to feel comfortable trusting reviews for what felt like the biggest decision I had made in quite some time. Imagine my surprise when I looked at Dr. Mitri's reviews only to find well over FIFTY FIVE STAR REVIEWS! He has not one under a FIVE! Too good to be true? I thought so but I didn't care and booked my appt. I went in at 8 weeks for my first Sonogram, delighted, excited and a lil nervous naturally, it was my first ever pregnancy. Unfortunately, it didn't go as I had hoped. I found out during the appt that I was pregnant with Twins, but I also found out that I had already lost them both. First office visit for my first pregnancy turns into my first miscarriage. This is where my 5 star review comes in. This isn't a practice I've used for years. These people don't even know me. And here I am balling in my first sono appt and planning to meet my new dr immediately after, not to discuss my pregnancy but now to discuss my DNC. It was a lot. First let me start with the Nurse Rachel, God bless this women. She handled me with so much love and kindness and delivered the news to both my husband and I in the most beautiful manner possible. I left the room crying but not before giving her the biggest hug ever, which was mildly awkward considering we just met. Now to Dr. Mitri. This man is an angel. He was beyond kind, spentl over an hour with my husband and I answering all our questions and didn't leave till we felt comfortable with the upcoming DNC. I was a new patient, clearly a mess, and he was never rattled, he made me feel very safe, part of every decision, and extremely taken care of. Fast forward to my surgery. What could have been a very scary tragic day, was actually not as terrifying as expected thanks to Dr. Mitri's bedside manner. I honestly can't even explain how wonderful this man is. He explained everything, didn't leave till I was comfortable and payed equal attention to my husband who may not have been undergoing surgery but was equally as upset as a result of our shared loss and the stress of having his wife undergo surgery. Ive heard horror stories from friends about DNCs gone wrong, not done well, repeated multiple times because everything wasn't removed. I was nervous I'd have the same experience. I didn't, emotionally it was horrific, physically, thanks to Dr. Mitri, it was a breeze. Couldn't have gone smoother. And no complications after at all. Such a burden lifted , I had no emotional energy to deal with any physical complications and thankfully I didn't have to. Fast forward a few months, and I'm pregnant yet again with my first child. This time almost into my second trimester. When I made my first appt at 8 weeks for the sono my husband and I retuned to Fair oaks women's health naturally a bit apprehensive. After 5 mins we yet again felt at ease. We had a wonderful sonogram and on the way out we passed Dr. Mitri in the hall. It had been about 6 months since we saw him and keep in mind we had only seen him twice the last time around so this man ,by no means, really knew us. He saw us waking down the hall with the nurse out of the Sono room and immediately gave a cheer and was like "yea you guys!!! How exciting! You're back!" He was SO incredibly warm, so happy for us, I honestly didn't expect it. We walked out feeling like this was the best decision we've ever made - thanks to Yelp. We've had several appts with him since, he never changes. Never rushes you, always happy to answer a million questions (I'm a reporter so I guarantee this man has never been questioned more, I can't help myself!) He is honestly just an incredible guy, and an even better Dr. I didn't mean to write a novel, but I remember the hesitation I had when booking my first appt. if you are reading this making that same decision, I can't recommend this man enough. I was so excited to find out I was pregnant for the first time and wanted to have the very best OB! I found Dr. Mitri on yelp and with all of the wonderful reviews and hours of research I picked him. I'm truly grateful I did. My story doesn't have a happily ever after... YET! But I want to tell you why I think you should pick him as your OB. In the beginning of my pregnancy I was having mild cramps. They didn't brush it off and took every precaution possible to ensure the safety of my health and unborn child. They made sure to rule out an epitopic pregnancy. They noticed progesterone was slightly low and recommended taking some to help keep the levels normal. We monitored my HCG levels that continued to rise and took multiple ultrasounds. At one point I had a yolk sac but it disappeared. Unfortunately, we miscarried. What I love about Dr. Mitri is how he took his time with me to explain what was going on. Performed an ultrasound on me and described what he saw. Allowed me to digest everything. In addition, he told me to take my time in deciding what I wanted to do. Encouraged me getting a second opinion if I wanted one. I walked out of his office devastated but felt comfort knowing I was in good hands. I stopped taking my progesterone and within 3 days started having major cramping in my back and stomach. I called his office and he squeezed me in that night for an emergency D & C. He was so wonderful ensuring I understood what was going on, why my HCG was still in the 100,000 & explained all the risks but assured me I was in great hands. The hospital staff at Huntington was amazing! They were so compassionate, made me laugh during a very sad time for My hubby and I. Dr. Mitri, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us through this difficult time. I'm truly grateful I found you online and look forward to seeing you again when we conceive and deliver our first baby! I highly recommend him to anyone! read more

Holy shit, Dr Mitri is AMAZING! I couldn't recommend him enough. I've gone to 3 other gynos in LA over the years and all of them have been cold, condescending bitches. I've avoided my last one (Dr Terre Osterkamp) like the plague. I saw Dr Mitri for the first time today and he's absolutely the best gyno I've ever had (I didn't know anyone could top my old one in Macon, GA but Dr Mitri certainly has). He took a long time going over my complicated medical history and he never once made me feel rushed. He's compassionate, empathetic and has the best bedside manner I've ever experienced. He's a great listener and I really appreciate him respecting and validating my feelings and experiences when it comes to hormonal bc (it makes me crazy and other docs have looked at me like I'm crazy for telling them I feel extremely anxious when I'm on the pill). He also takes a ton of time to explain everything to you in a very friendly, non-codescending way. I felt like I was talking to my very well informed gay bff. He's not gay, though it shouldn't matter but comfort wise I seriously felt like I was talking to my best gay friend. Not judged whatsoever, just supported. I'm so grateful to have found Dr Mitri.
