This is long over-do. I'll will try and keep it short. This doctor must be the best OB/GYN. From the beginning of my pregnancy to the moment he delivered my first born I was pleased at every visit. As pregnancy is not easy for anyone, my pregnancy scared me on a weekly basis. My symptoms were worse than others but easier in other ways. Dr. Mitri advised or challenged me in so many ways to assure a healthy pregnancy. My delivery day started off as a piece of cake and ended 26hrs later with an emergency c-section. I have a new respect for doctors. Dr. Mitri goes above and beyond for his patients and stretches himself to another level of exhaustion with a positive outlook. If I should move to another city I will commute to see Dr. Mitri for my next child. read more

If you ever want a good OBGYN horror story, come find me, I've got at least 10 to share! With so many bad experiences with so many different doctors, multiple surgeries, near death, if you think of it, I've probably went through it. None stop and unexplainable bleeding for 5 months lead me hesitantly searching again for an OB. I'd seen them all, met all types, old ones, young ones, kind ones, mean ones, girl ones, boy ones, tall ones, short ones. Yet none of them left me with the impression I had today with Dr.Mitri. A friend of a friend suggested Dr.Mitri, I called in but they were booked up for a while so I went to another friends OB out in Glendora. Total waste of time. Saw me twice, didn't examine me once! It's been two months now and I'm still waiting for him to call me back to "schedule surgery". For all he knows, I could be dead by now. But like most Dr.s I've meet, I think he can care less. Then I finally couldn't take it anymore. Needed to know what was happening with my body. I thought I'd give Mitri's office another call and try my luck. And just like a true gift from God, he had a cancellation and they fit me in the very next day. If they still passed out sainthood's this man would be first in line! I have officially named him the Vagina Angel! Lol He listened to my (and husbands) long tales of woo. Asked questions and wanted to have a true understanding of his patients history. Warm, compassionate, simply delightful! But hey, kindness alone doesn't cure... This man is on a mission! You have a problem? He wants to solve it! Here, now, immediately! It seemed that (from what the previous OB "understood") I needed surgery. No ifs, ands or buts about it. This coming from a doc who never actually, physically ever placed a finger on me! Dr.Mitri asked, "may I examine you.". I never thought I'd feel relief at the suggestion of an OB examination, but finally, a doctor who really wanted to help me solve this mystery!! Finally a doctor not afraid of doing his actual job!!! He looked and within seconds found the cause of my months of pain, torment, discomfort, anxiety and.... Drum roll please..... FIXED IT!!!! Wow!! Yes, it's possible! A doctor who actually wants to fix it!! Not medicate you unnecessarily, not give you the run around and definitely not schedule you for surgery before even giving you a proper diagnosis!!! In 15 minutes this great man fixed it. Done. Healthy. All finished. If they ever make little statues of Saint Mitri, I promise to put one in my rose garden; front and center Highly recommend! Worth the wait! read more

I had so many terrible experiences with other obgyns trying to get on a long term birth control. I always felt judged. They would always question why someone my age (30) would want a long term contraceptive. I finally came across Dr. Mitri on Yelp and I could not be happier. He never once asked why I wanted long term BC...never once asked me if I was in a committed relationship...BECAUSE IT IS IRRELEVANT. He was so informative and caring. He made sure that I was going to get the best BC for my body's needs. A week or so later he put in my IUD and I was able to move on with my non baby having life. Dr Mitri is an OUTSTANDING doctor. The BEST! He spends quality time with his patients . He answers all of my numerous questions in the office at my appointment and put me at ease by also answering my patient portal questions. I don't write reviews ever but I want to say that Dr Michael Mitri is truly amazing ! I highly recommend him. He is supportive, caring and understanding. He helped me to go through high-risk pregnancy after loosing my first baby at 24 weeks ( different OB/GYN). Now I have beautiful little girl and I can't be thankful enough! I was very anxious during my pregnancy but he never made me feel silly about overreacting and always was able to see me the day I wanted to. He always replies to emails within hours! My labor and delivery experience was also perfect . I'm shocked to see negative reviews and they all about waiting time. You can't complain on waiting in OB/GYN office as pregnancy complications and espessially delivery time are so unpredictable. Talking about men in gynecology is a touchy subject. From what I gather, a lot of women have found that male gynecologists presume to know how a woman is feeling and disregards what she is actually feeling. With this in mind, I had some anxiety when I first went in to see Dr. Mitri, even though I had done my research on Pasadena gynecologists and he had the best reviews (I even read up on his residency program). That awkward moment I was waiting for... well, it never happened. Dr. Mitri has excellent bedside manner (like, super polite). His explanations are thorough and cover almost everything I would ask. And when I have remaining questions, he gives adequate time to explore the issue and explain it until I feel like I'm in control of the situation. I guess that's what really what makes the difference for me. I always walk out feeling totally in control. Plus, he's just a super nice guy. If you're a millennial, it basically feels like you're talking to a really sweet friend who just knows a lot about female reproductive health. These are all reasons why Dr. Mitri, who is only a couple years out of residency, is always booked solid for months. If you've decided that you want to see him, I recommend that you schedule your appointment well ahead of time. read more

I used to be a patient of another doctor in this Fair Oaks Women's Health office. Due to a super booked schedule (3+ months just to make an appointment to ask a few questions) I was referred to Dr. Mitri and I am SO grateful that happened. Dr. Mitri is awesome!! Compassionate, kind, funny, extremely helpful and most impressively, accessible. I never feel like our appointments are rushed. One time, he sat there for what seemed like forever and listened to ALLLLLL of the "issues" I thought I had and then proceeded to address every single one in a caring tone. Oh, Dr. Mitri, how I love thee! Honestly, I feel pretty confident in saying that I don't think I'd find a doctor I liked better than Mitri if I travelled the earth looking. He is kind, knowledgeable, patient and comforting. I had a high-risk pregnancy last year as I was carrying twin girls. I called FOWH to schedule an appointment with Dr. Jick as he seemed to be the leading doctor in my area for high-risk, but was told he had a 3 month wait but that their new doctor, Dr. Mitri, could see me in as little as two weeks. I was a bit nervous since he was a new doctor and seemed so young! I scheduled my first appointment with him and never looked back. Our first meeting was over an hour while we discussed my history, concerns, wishes, etc. He never made me feel silly or that I was too concerned about anything. He also explained that occasionally there may be a longer wait time for an appointment in the event that he was called into a delivery and that he would do his best to get to us ASAP but that he would do the same for us if we went into labor. It's really smart of him to tell you that upfront, and let me tell you, I had two instances where I'm sure he had to refer one of his patients to another doctor to come to see me when I was admitted to the hospital. After I delivered he came to see me everyday and check up. He's such a cool guy and makes you feel as though you're a friend rather than a patient. I also loved the staff he works with, and the office is always so clean. I think my longest wait time was maybe 30 minutes after my appointment time. Dr. Mitri and his entire staff are amazing. Even though we didn't meet under the best of circumstances, the care provided by his office was exceptional. He fit me into his schedule three times in one week, all on short notice, to ensure I got the treatment I needed. I'm sure he is insanely busy, but when he's in the room with you he makes a point to explain everything thoroughly and answer all of your questions. His assistant, Amanda, also did a great job of following up on some items for me. Dr. Mitri is kind and approachable, and I hope to have a better reason to see him in the future! read more

I went today for a fertility evaluation and to discuss concerns about previous pregnancies that I did not have. I have never been to a office run so smoothly and each staff member was friendly and helpful. Dr. Mitri was amazing. He was caring and compassionate and easy to talk too. I'm absolutely thrilled with my choice in Dr. Mitri!! About half way through my pregnancy I decided to change doctors due to a bad experience with an OB in Burbank and I'm so happy I did. After reading all the reviews on yelp, I am impressed (and relieved) that every single word is true. He spent a great deal of time with me on our first visit (I was already 20 weeks along) and went through every single one of my concerns/questions and was not only helpful, but funny and easy to talk to. You can absolutely tell that he loves what he does and cares a great deal for every one of his patients. Amazing Doctor !! I was seeing Dr Eleanor Leung in Pasadena, and it was a wrong dession ! I was referred to Dr Mitri and is wonderful. I had a hysterectomy done by Dr Leung a year ago and had pain everyday for 1 year!!! I went to see Dimitri which is an amazing Doctor . His office girls are super nice and helpful. He did tests And assured me he would help me to have no more pain. Yesterday he did surgery loposcopy and I wished I had met him before. I no longer have pain and my cuts where minor. Updating my review after delivering my baby** Dr Michael Mitri is an amazing doctor! I delivered my baby 2 weeks ago at Huntington memorial and everything went smoothly. At 39 weeks 6 days I went for my last check up and Dr Mitri had informed me my fluid was borderline low and asked if I would be ok to get induced. My husband and I both agreed that was the best thing to do. I was admitted to the hospital around 7:30pm and had my baby the next day at 5:30pm. I was induced around 8:30pm and Dr Mitri came to visit me in the hospital 8am (I felt happy to see him after being in the hospital for so many hours) and checked my water and informed me it only broke halfway.. He then broke the rest of it and the contractions came an hour after.. Got my epidural and finally started pushing and when Dr Mitri got off work at 5pm, he rushed to deliver my baby!! All I can say is my baby had perfect timing!! Everything went smoothly and I couldn't be any happier that Dr Mitri delivered my baby! read more

Dr. Mitri took time from his lunch hour to do an ultrasound, just to ease my worries. He answered my emails on a Sunday when I was bleeding early in pregnancy. Dr. Mitri came in on a day off to perform my C-section even though there was already an on-call OB/GYN available to do it. He is devoted, remembers details about my life, is up on his research, tells you like it is with gentleness, is a continual learner, and truly cares. Phenomenal. LOVE HIM. read more

Dr. Mitri is Wonderful !!!!! He's very detailed and knowledgeable and patient! I never felt rushed during my visit and he will answer all the questions I had. I always prepare a list of questions prior to my appointment and he always asks if I have any questions for him at each visit and he'll make sure he answer all of them before leaving. Being a FTM lots of things freak me out but Dr. Mitri can always calm me down and make me feel at ease after each visit. The office has a lot of patients and lots of different doctors so make sure you arrive on time. They also check your temperature at each visit before entering. Unfortunately only the patient is allowed to enter the office at this time. They also have a patient portal where you get to see your record and send messages to them which is very convenient. There's parking structure next to the building so parking isn't a problem at all. I strongly recommend Dr. Mitri !!! read more

This is not a good doctor to go to if you are high risk. We went to this doctor after having seen such high reviews, and we came out very disappointed. First of all, our appointment got pushed back about 3 hours in total. This was due to the fact that the doctor had an emergency birth the day before and all the appointments got pushed back as a result. However, it would've been nice to get a courtesy notice, either by phone, or at least when we got in and checked in. But it took an hour past our appointment time for us to finally ask what the deal was, and then they told us. I'm one who does not like sugar coating. I like to be given all of the facts. However, there's a difference between being blunt and truthful, and having bad bedside manner. Dr Mitri wasn't mean, but he was very negative and downbeat. I have several autoimmune disorders, some of which include lupus, autophospholipid syndrome, and Graves' disease. Dr Mitri stated straight out he did not have a lot of experience with autoimmune and would send us to a parentologist, which was fine. But he continuously said how uncomfortable he was treating someone with lupus, and that all pregnancies he's treated with lupus always end up bad. He kept going off about that same topic. Like I said before, I don't like sugar coating, but I also don't like being negative. Women with lupus have normal pregnancies all the time. I understand there is an increased risk, and there is much more monitoring to be done and medications to take during pregnancy. Also, there can be increased complications, including early delivery. This is also a concern because I am pregnant with twins. However, before Dr Mitri, we were seeing a specialist who could only monitor the first twelve weeks. Our previous doctor was always positive and stated that, with proper monitoring and care, the pregnancy has no reason to go south. Also, Dr Mitri mentioned how if he was doing something personal and I have to give birth that day, that he wouldn't come. Again, I understand doctors have lives and life happens not always how we expect or want, but the way he spoke about it and what he said truly made me uncomfortable. He literally stated, "by the way, if I'm doing something personal that I planned, I won't come to help deliver." He may have been joking, and just trying to say that circumstances may prevent him from delivering, but the way he said it plus he was talking completely serious without so much as a smirk made me feel uncomfortable and not a priority. It is also pulling teeth with this group to get our paperwork done. I needed to see a parentologist within a certain time due to needing certain tests and blood work needing to be done within a certain time frame and Dr Mitri was going to send paperwork over to have them schedule us an appointment. We called three days later and Dr Mitri still hadn't finished our paperwork. It took an extra day for the paperwork to be completed, and then we ended up having to call the parentologist ourselves after being told they would call us. Also, Mitri's office called and said they didn't have our previous medical records. They made copies of our records the day we came in and it took them that whole afternoon to find them. When we finally called the parentologist to make our appointment, they were completely booked for two weeks. My husband became visibly angry at Dr Mitri for continuously going off about how "all lupus pregnancies end badly." We are now seeing Dr Sawyer out of Loma Linda, and the parentologist is out of Irvine. The extra drive is worth it, as they have been accommodating, positive, and truthful. They have been truthful in saying all of the complications that can come with lupus, but also saying that these pregnancies can go very well and just needs extra care. If you are perfectly healthy with no signs of complication, Mitri is for you. If you're like me and have many complications that require anything but a routine pregnancy, then look elsewhere. read more

When I first came to this office I had one of the women doctors, they went on vacation and I saw Dr. Mitri as a "sub" and right after that visit I switched to him. Dr. Mitri was my OB through a pregnancy (mostly smooth with some minor complications like placenta previa that went away) and a challenging labor and delivery that ended in a very necessary c-section. I don't have family nearby and by the time my son was born, Dr. Mitri felt more like a family member or friend. It just feels to me like he really cares about his patients and their babies. I'm pretty sure he came and checked on us when we were still in the hospital even on his day off. I really couldn't have gotten through my birth experience if i didn't have my wonderful husband and Dr. Mitri. There is sometimes a short wait at the office but he's always hustling and doing his best for everyone; he has also apologized any time he was running behind. He never rushes you even though his schedule is packed. He even asks "what other questions do you have?" to make sure you're comfortable. He is also a straight shooter and up on his research. He doesn't go over-board and has a good bedside manner. He somehow has a perfect balance. His nurses are also very personable and responsive. I once had an unexpected work trip and they helped me reschedule everything and another time they had a schedule mishap and very quickly fixed it for me. And the administrative staff was wonderfully fast and responsive with all of my HR paperwork for short-term disability and so on. I will definitely continue to see him as my gyno and once we're ready for baby #2. read more

Dr. Mitri is the best OBGYN I've ever had. My husband and I had decided we wanted to start a family, so we changed our insurance so I would have a choice in who my doctor would be. I did a lot of research in choosing, as I have had some negative experiences with OBGYNs - rude, judgemental, rushed, and unfortunately bad technique that made annual exams very painful. From my first appointment Dr. Mitri felt like a friend. His bedside manner is excellent, he listened to me as I told him about my past experiences and made sure I was comfortable during my annual, and made the exam painless. He put me at ease about trying to conceive and was no nonsense about dispelling myths and my own fears about my fertility. After 9 months of trying, I became pregnant, despite a diagnosis of PCOS. I really think that if I hadn't had Dr. Mitri to support me in managing my stress, it would have taken much longer to conceive. Dr. Mitri was amazing throughout my pregnancy and delivery. He seriously has a gift for keeping you from freaking out over stuff, which you do when you are pregnant. He made the quick decision to send me to the hospital to be induced after my blood pressure spiked three days before my due date. I felt safe and taken care of, despite the slew of interventions ending in a Cesarean because my baby was too big to deliver via vag (9lb 5oz!). Shoutout to Huntington Memorial and Dr. Jick too, five stars for everyone! The thing that makes him my most favorite doctor -a couple of days after I had delivered and was still in the hospital. After trying to breastfeed and thinking I was getting the hang of it, my baby had lost too much weight and his blood sugar dropped so he had to be supplemented with formula. I was super worried, disappointed, and with the mix of hormones and sleep deprivation, I was an emotional mess. Dr. Mitri came in, took one look at me and then just listened as I cried to him. He assured me that everything was going to be okay, then left and told my nurse to give me some extra TLC, because I really needed it that day. His compassion in that moment was priceless, and I am so grateful to him for helping my husband and me become parents to our sweet baby. read more

I would give him 20 stars if I could. Dr Mitri has been my OBGYN even before I was pregnant. And he remained my doctor throughout my pregnancy and delivered my daughter. I cannot say enough great things about him. He is extremely intelligent, ever so caring and incredibly nice! My husband and I trust him with our eyes closed. He is always available to answer any questions you have and truly goes out of his way to care for his patients. He is not only the BEST OBGYN, he is hands down the BEST DOCTOR! He came to deliver my baby at 2AM on a weekend that he was not working. The moment he walked into my labor room, I felt so relieved and at ease knowing he was there to delivery my baby. I had a scare early on in my pregnancy while I was overseas, and he went out of his way to take care of me even though I was out of the country. He provided such great care post-pregnancy as well, to help with my recover. He really does put his patients first above every thing else. My husband and I are not moving away from Pasadena until we are done having babies, as I do not want any other doctor taking care of me and my baby but him. I would 1000% recommend him to anyone. You will guaranteed be in the best hands with him being your doctor. One of the best things about him is he ALWAYS has a big smile on his face! I had my first visit with dr mitri today and he exceeded any expectations I had tenfold. I have had so many obgyn physicians dismiss my polycystic ovary diagnosis (I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago) because I don't fit the typical criteria just from sight. Dr mitri listened to everything I had to say and laid out all the information in front of me and was so helpful in choosing the method that best fits my lifestyle and what I want to accomplish. There isn't enough words to describe how incredible Dr Mitri is. I found him using his yelp reviews and I'm back to share how correct they were. He is ever so caring, knowledgeable and so easy to interact with. He answers his emails in a timely manner and can also be reached through the incredible staff at the office. I had a c section and stood the first night and started walking the 2nd day and this wouldn't be possible without the care and guidance of Dr Mitri. So it is quite obvious that at this time Dr Mitri does not need any more 5 star reviews. I was almost tempted to throw a 1 star review out there since that clearly would not hurt him and just to get mine noticed haha. The reason why I am nonetheless writing a review is to help any pregnant lady out there made an informed decision. I was living in Santa Monica when I first learned I was pregnant. We moved to the Pasadena area when I was 2 month pregnant in December 2013 , and I wanted to find an OB closer. Let me get things straight: I loved my former OB and was ready to hate anyone replacing him. At that time, I wanted Dr Jick, but the wait time was too long. Dr Mitri was still the new kid on the block. And I am so happy I went with him. My pregnancy became a high risk pregnancy at week 16 and 1. he always took the time to explain what was at stake, explaining so well that even when you do your usual post-consultation-googling-stupid-thing, nothing is as clear as his explanations 2. he is young, but humble enough to refer you to another doctor/specialist if need be (read: this guy does not take any unecessary risk BUT he is also not the kind to throw you under unecessary exams either. Makes sense?). When other specialists freaked me out, he was always reassuring, emotionally but also based on facts 3. he always responded to my emails or calls very quickly 4. he is so cool that even after he has looked down there you still want to invite him and his wife over for dinner. 3 weeks before my due date, I came up overnight with a deadly condition (called HELLP syndrome) which was totally separate from my initial problem. I was in pain but thought it was some normal end of pregnancy pain. I called in that morning, he was out of the office but called me back as soon as he got in and advised to go to Huntington Memorial emergency and have them call him. He arrived right away, the nurses were about to send me home and he did a VERY quick and accurate assessment that saved my life as well as my baby. He ordered some rushed blood tests to confirm his diagnosis, and they induced me right then. I finally started going into labor -after 21 hours of contractions without being allowed for health reasons to take the epidural... -, and because my son had been at risk, the NICU staff was there and Dr Mitri warned me I may not be able to hold him and he would most likely go straight to the NICU. Dr Mitri helped me deliver my son and right away placed him in my arms before handing him over. How amazing is that? Oh yeah, the story does not end here. He delivered my son on his day off, and made sure to visit me the following day when he was supposed to leave shortly on an out of state vacation. Over time, he became this pretty popular doctor so I thought: "man, this is it. My favorite doctor is going to become one of those rushed, full of themselves men, and I am going to be sad". Nope ladies. He is popular but still takes his time to respond to your questions, to be very approachable and I am still looking forward to my now general gynecological appointments. Finally, if you cannot see him, Dr Jick is incredible and I heard Dr Park is really nice too. As for the staff, they are all very nice but my favorites are Margaret at the reception, and Rachel who does the ultrasounds. read more

Dr Mitri was awesome all the nurses at his office are great best experience! even with my high risk I have epilepsy and had gestational diabetes he took me on late in pregnancy late second trimester nearly third, and was there at the hospital to deliver my baby boy. Good doctor, he's very nice too but he's always very rushed. I was coming in with a list of questions/concerns ready, and it was a struggle to ask my questions because he was usually walking out of the door as he was saying his last sentence, so very often, I didn't ask my questions. Reaching him after the appointment was also a struggle. Also, my thyroid is hypoactive and it's important for an OB to check/manage thyroid during the pregnancy. He didn't want to have anything to do with my thyroid management. However, he did a great job with the delivery and sewing me up according to my regular gynecologist (who no longer delivers) so that's something! I'm pregnant with my second and seeing another OB (mainly because I moved, I wasn't opposed to going back to Dr. Mitri if I were still in Pasadena) and that's when I realized that being so rushed is not the norm. I had an appointment on Friday and my doctor went over all of my questions (and more) and at the end he still asked if I had any more questions/concerns. I have been seeing Dr. Mitri for almost 2 years now and have had continuously great service and support! My husband and I had also been trying to become pregnant and Dr. Mitri was supportive and informational. When I started to become worried about our ability to conceive Dr. Mitri was always quick to reply to my emails and calls. 2 weeks before our scheduled visit for alternative options to become pregnant I discovered we had conceived naturally. I was/am very excited! I am 7.5 months and as always Dr. Mitri has been patient with my most mundane emails and has always replied quickly even when I was simply being neurotic. He has never made me feel stupid for asking any question!! I saw 2 unfavorable yelp reviews out of 50 and I was simply shocked, as I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Mitri and his office. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Mitri and had honestly given up on ever finding an OB/Gyn that I liked. He is compassionate and well informed on the most current medical practices. I have a unique pregnancy condition as well and he collaborated with his team to provide the most up-to-date care and interventions. The entire staff at FOWH work as a team to provide the best care for their patients. I went into labor with my daughter on a Friday night and Dr. Mitri was the doctor on call that evening. Having never met him before I can saw with 100% certainty that I will never forget him! He was very caring and answered every question I had...even keeping up with my sarcastic sense of humor. I am a feminist and have sought good doctors for years regardless of their gender. When they took me in for my first appointment with Dr Mitri I was NOT dropped into a room and given a "gown". I was sat, fully clothed, in his OFFICE. It's the little things that catch my attention. We meet as human beings, he went over the basics, and then I was taken to an exam room. That was pretty big. I can't say enough about how fantastic he and the staff have been over the past couple of years. Typically, when I would describe the pain I had to an OBGYN they gave up, or in one case, told me it was in my head. Dr Mitri was different, he was professional yet had empathy even though he didn't have the same plumbing. Because of insurance there were obstacles on my end. He proposed options and we began to work through them. Two months ago I had my hysterectomy. He's just the best. It's a rare gift these days when you feel your doctor has intelligence, empathy, a terrific bedside manner, and (GASP!) seems to enjoy their work. It's like the old days... I am writing this review as a father who is deeply impressed by Dr. Mitri's skills and performance. Our son is now almost two years old and developing just perfectly, and today I want to share our great experience with Dr. Mitri. He was not only the greatest physician you can imagine during the whole pregnancy period, as described by so many others here. He also is exactly the physician you want when things get complicated. Dr. Mitri has saved our son's life during a delivery with complications, and he has handled this situation with an outstanding profesionalism that we have not seen in any other physician until today. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for finding Dr Mitri and his office. Funny how reading these reviews on Yelp make me teary eyed. Why? Because all of the praise is true. Dr Mitri showed me the light when all I saw was darkness for a very long time . After months of bed rest, a cerclage and progesterone with my 3rd pregnancy and first hopeful child, Dr Mitri delivered my miracle baby after a long journey of miscarriages and disappointment.
