Any OB/Gyn that thinks or say's Ovarian Cysts are not so painful or 'you're too in tune with your own body' must be out of their mind! It took over 15-years, emergency ultrasounds, a laparoscopy surgery and excruciating, terrifying pain, before I finally was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. They were harmless as far as my health & I had given birth three times...once without an epidural, not by choice. I know what pain is. That baby was 1 0z from 8 pounds and my first. Doctors here in the LA area need to listen to their patients. Don't blow people off, patronize or threaten...that's happened to me twice. I understand the pressures Doctors are under, from the crazy insurance rates, California is overly litigious State and the DEA is breathing down the docs necks. One thing I'm sure of, since the DEA cracked down on Dr's, the Fentanyl crisis and overdoses have risen exponentially. We are not talking about a few here and there, hundreds of thousands of lives, young people, celebrities, CEO, every walk of life, nationality, gender, race, etc... cut down because of this crack down. My 86-year-old Mom is crippled with arthritis, three knee replacements, a shoulder replacement and she can barely get around...had to beg her doctor for three painkillers per day instead of two. My adult daughter had to go with her and advocate for my Mom. Now I take my parents to all of their Doctor appointments. Doctors seem a little nicer if you have someone with you. I should probably have someone with me. Though I don't take opioid pain meds due to the addictive nature and the side effects. Hopefully if I am ever 86, then I would probably be open to it. People shouldn't live in chronic pain without relief. People should be treated with respect by their Doctors. Though California needs to do something about the absolute ridiculous, price hiking law suits!! We have by far, the most litigious State. Attorneys are running wild in this State. They don't even need a client in some cases, or damages, too many attorneys make their living by finding reasons to file lawsuits against businesses, I'm not kidding. Worse, most Companies will settle a nuisance lawsuit because it's cheaper than fighting it. So all you Doctors out there, be kind to your patients. None of us want to be a patient. read more

After moving to the area I needed to find a gyno. What I can say is - I have never had a doctor roll their eyes at me and visibly stop listening to the very real issues I was facing. I had just come back from a visit to the hospital after having cysts rupture. When I explained the pain, and my concerns about being on birth control since the cysts most likely were from the type of birth control I was on before... she told me that some people are "too in tune with their bodies"(actual quote), and that I was making a bigger deal then was really there. When I addressed my concern about menopause related weight gain, she told me to go to Jenny Craig! Maybe there was some hormonal re-balancing we could try? I am not typically one to post reviews or complain, but I am so disappointed with this experience. I have been trying to find a good doctor and thought I'd give Laura a try. She gave me the fastest breast exam I've ever gotten and didn't even feel under my arm, near my armpits. It must have lasted a total of 4 seconds, if that. When asking me questions about my history, she made the rudest comment about an answer I gave (don't want to post it on here), but it was so mean that I wanted to cry when she left for me to get undressed. This was my first visit to Dr. Laura Sirott. Her office was extremely professional. Upon my arrival they promptly checked me in and the wait time was minimal. Her assistant nurse was very courteous and polite. Dr. Sirott was also extremely nice and helpful. She took time to listen to my concerns and proceeded to examine me in a very respectful way. She also learned of breast cancer history in my family and had me genetically tested for breast cancer. She's the first doctor to go the extra step. She explained nothing about the procedure, after an implant was put in my daughters arm(birth control). She told my daughter to go have fun. BEST OBGYN EVER!! I've been with Dr. Sirott since I turned 18yrs old and now going on 41! She is direct, honest, and thorough. She has always been very attentive and sensitive to me throughout the years. She delivered both my babies via csection, saving my life twice. I got PPD super bad with my first. I was able to communicate to her how I was feeling, and she was so supportive. She called me every day to check in on me until the medication kicked in. Then with my second, she saved me when my blood pressure sky rocketed. Once again, she was so attentive and kind during my recovery. I dread the day she retires. Seriously, the best. I really love Dr. Sirott. She was my Gynecologist for about a year before I became pregnant and transitioned into OB care. When I initially became Her patient i expressed that I wanted to start prepping or getting on the path to trying to become Pregnant. I met with her in her office and we went over all of my history, husbands history and just all over wishes and plans for starting a family. I particularly like that she's very honest and straightforward and doesn't try to hide or sugar coat things but at no point did I ever find her to be rude or cold as others have mentioned. We shared many laughs Throughout my Pregnancy, she calmed fears and answered all my questions without any hesitation. I always felt like I was very informed and being taken care of. Personally, I found her to be the exact kind of doctor I wanted for my pregnancy. Kind, easy going and funny, but no nonsense and very knowledgeable. Dr. Sirott is an amazing ob/gyn doctor. She delivered my daughter and saved my life when she diagnosed me with cervical cancer at my 6 week post baby appointment. Dr. Sirott has been my OB for over 5 years now and she is great. She is a straight shooter, does not sugar coat but highly knowledgeable and always puts my mind at rest. I am actually shocked to read of so many dissatisfied patients of Dr. Sirott. I met her approximately 3 years ago when looking for a new OBGYN. During my initial visit with her, she took me into her personal office and asked me detailed questions about myself and allowed me to do the same. I was very pleased with that and since then, she has been an excellent doctor, always pleasant and thorough about my care. Dr. Sirott and I are about the same age, and I love the fact that she doesn't mind sharing some of her own personal experiences/changes that occur in this "mid life" what we have now find ourselves in. That definitely puts me at easy and I appreciate her for that. Her assistant Linda was great, but she's no longer there. The new assistant seems just a competent and is very welcoming. Most recently, my paps results were a bit concerning to Dr. Sirott. She was very detailed in her explanation and could clearly see that I was a little nervous. Her bedside manner was appropriate, calming and she remained professional. She talked me through everything and I felt as ease while dealing with this. She performed an in-office procedure and everything went fine. If I were to document a complaint, it would only be that the cover-ups that they provide are for very small women. I am appalled at some of the comments about Laura Sirott. She has been my Docor for over 20 years. I have found her to be personable, warm, professional, sympathetic, available and she has great humour and empathy. Linda, her nurse, is a delight. We all have to take responsibility for our choices in who we choose to be the watch dogs of our well being and sometimes personalities don't match, but some of these comments really leave me aghast. If when I met her she hadn't been for me I would have found someone else. Steer clear!!!!! It's taking me almost 2 years to rate Laura Sirott because my birth experience was a little traumatic. I should have seen red flags at my first pregnancy visit when she asked if it was a planned pregnancy. She always seemed short and far from being personal and her bedside manner is very rude and condescending. I asked what her opinion on having a doula was, and she replied with - if you want someone to hold your hand otherwise save your money. So then I kept rolling with the punches and took her with a grain of salt and thought she is a no non-sense doctor and perhaps she would be more personal closer to birth time. Then towards the end of my second trimester I reported to her that my skin was extremely itchy all over with swelling all over and drastically in feet and ankles from the beginning (I'm active and a normal weight lady). She said the swelling was normal and barely looked into it. For the extreme itchy skin she said to apply cold Gold Bond lotion. I felt like I was going crazy and that she did not listen to me, so I became my own advocate and went back to my next appointment asking for blood work as I was convinced I had Cholestasis and possibly preeclampsia. If she knew anything about Cholestasis in pregnancy then she would know you can't treat the condition topically to relieve it, since it's in the blood stream. I had to call back several times for my results only to find out after a few weeks the staff mis-labeled my blood in error. So another week goes by for more blood work and then a month of extreme intense itching that caused me to have sleepless nights and stress. Now after a months time, I was already 39 weeks and went in on a Friday morning at 9am for a check up and waiting patiently to know if I had Cholestasis. I'm so glad my husband was able to go to this visit with me but wish I had a proper breakfast first because the first thing that came out of doctors mouth was we have to get this baby out now, asap. Sure enough my blood levels were so high with results of Cholestasis and could harm baby with possible still birth or effects to placenta. She did not seem to have any info or experience with this. It was written all over her. I was planning on having my last day of work that day but instead Sirott said we needed to induce me asap and I went straight to the hospital from her office. The Pitocin increased my blood pressure so high and bringing by 3:00 pm the news came to me. On my birth plan I did not want a C-Section if I could avoid it. Dr. Sirott said my blood pressure was so high even though I felt fine, no contractions that I could feel. She gave us only a few minutes to decided if we can proceed with a Cesarean section. She kept coming in to ask what our decision is. On a Friday afternoon it's hard to feel the pressure doctors give you so they can make it home for dinner or the weekend. She mentioned we can be up next by 4:30pm. When I finally got the green light to go into the operating room she seemed impatient that there was a delay. The walk into the room was pretty scary and the experience was traumatic for me. The best part of the procedure beside meeting our baby girl was the anesthesiologist asked what music I wanted to hear and he was calming and had great timing with everything. ******** Another major point of bad bedside manner on Sirott's behalf is when they were about to make the first incision I could hear her comment to the other doctor that the tools could be sharper and were pretty dull. Something to that point as she was joking around. Mind you we are awake through c-sections. I couldn't believe I could hear this. We were happy, we meet our healthy baby girl and she was not affected by cholestasis. Following, I had developed further pre-calmpsia that I had to be on a IV of magnesium for 24 hours following birth. That was not fun at all. I was a little shocked that the doctor follow up over the weekend in the hospital was not Sirott and was Dr. Macer and he was a very pleasant and was a nice visit actually. Thank you if you read my birth story. Please think twice if you go with Dr. Sirott. I hope no other expecting mom has to feel or go through a similar situation. read more

I have chronic UTI's and Dr. Sirott has always been very honest and patient with all of my questions and concerns. Her staff is accommodating, especially the nurse who does the urine analysis. Obviously I don't like having UTI's, but the staff and Dr. Sirott are very helpful, and there is no where I would rather go to get treatment. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Sirott as a physician. Laura L Sirott, MD was a random choice of gynocologists listed via www.anthem.com/ca and mixed internet reviews. The receptionists are polite. The waiting room is gaudy. The wait time was completing new patient forms. Laura L Sirott, MD's nurse Linda is bitchy. I was not acknowledged by Laura L Sirott, MD upon entering her personal office. Laura L Sirott, MD stressed unwanted birth control. Laura L Sirott, MD's recommended Motrin or Tylenol to relieve my severe menstrual pain. Laura L Sirott, MD perscribed an unpopular $93 menstrual pain medication not covered by my PPO insurance. Laura L Sirott, MD's answer to my discomfort during sex was the position. Careless options of tests and Gardisil were offered. Laura L Sirott, MD's demeanor is condescending, emotionless and direct. Nervously walking toward the examination room I was told to enter her "torcher chamber" that I find unnecessary. The pap smear was less than one minute:) I had to remind Linda of the Gardisil shot and preferred form of medication since Laura L Sirott, MD is forgetful. Linda's attitude followed up three days later with normal results. $5 parking and no validation. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Sirott's for about 18 years. As many others have said, she is no nonsense and lacks any warmth or bedside manner. However, I didn't care about this because, I only saw her once a year and I felt her care was adequate. Last year, I showed up for my appointment and waited for ONE HOUR in the waiting room. I finally went to the front desk to ask if they had forgotten about me. The receptionist said the nurse should be with me shortly. About 10 minutes later, the nurse appeared and took me back to the room. I waited another 20 minutes for Dr. Sirott to arrive for my 5 minute examination. Ugh! I had to go back for a follow up a month later and again waited 45 minutes before I was seen. I had to return for a six month follow up and again waited 35 minutes in the waiting room and another 25 minutes in the exam room. No Dr. Sirott. I dressed, walked back to reception, and said I had waited an hour and could not wait any longer. One of the girls said, "Your co-pay is $30." There was no expression of apology. About 10 minutes after I left, the nurse called me and said Dr. Sirott was available to see me now if I wanted to come back! No, thanks. I don't know if the office staff is over scheduling her or if she has a habit of running extremely late now after all these years. Regardless, my time is important and I found another Doctor! read more

I would not recommend Dr. Sirott to anyone. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this doctor when I went into labor with my first child and my primary OB Dr. Matsuda was not available and Sirott was the only person on call. I had a birth plan that was given to her which when asked, her nurse stated to me in a very short manner that "she was AWARE of it". This immediately gave me the impression that she was most likely not going to consider any of my requests on the birth plan what so ever. I am not a picky person by any means and my requests were simple and I didn't have a novel for a birth plan. I wasn't one of those pregnant women who insisted on a specific birth experience because I knew that anything could very well happen during my delivery that would be out of my control BUT there were a few things Sirott did that I believe was unacceptable. She,first of all, broke my bag of waters without asking me. I expressed to her my concern about waiting for it to break on it's own and she did not listen. Instead, she pretended not to hear me and had a conversation with the nurse about my condition, right in front of me while she broke my bag of waters. Secondly, she told me that she wanted to give me pitocin to speed up my contractions. I again expressed my concerns and asked if we could wait but she immediately threatened to either give me pitocin or else a c-section would be performed. I then succumbed to the medication and after the delivery of my daughter she had the nerve to say that "all it took was the threat of a c section" to get things going. She actually admitted that she threatened me with the c section procedure. Lastly, my husband wasn't given the opportunity to cut the umbilical cord as requested on the birth plan. Sirott cut the cord immediately after delivery. My husband and I looked at each other right away with very saddened expressions. I may have needed my bag of waters to be broken and in the end maybe pitocon was needed to help the progress of my delivery but Sirott's manner in which she suggested and performed any or all of these medical procedures was in no way professional or kind. I really did feel like the experience was robbed from me. The delivery that I thought would be an amazing experience had turned out to be more traumatic since it felt as though this doctor was trying to get the job done so she could leave for the day. She is rude, short, and unprofessional to say the least. She has no consideration for her patients feelings and I hope that this review is helpful for the next expectant mother who is looking for the right OB. Sirott is definitely not the one. read more

Do Not Come Here!!! Save yourself the stress!!! Dr Sirott is Rude! And her team are a bunch of idiots!!! They tried to bill me $240 for a normal routine pregnancy check up, when my insurance covers at 100% for pregnancy!!! I called my insurance company 3 times, and each time they told me Dr. Sirott used the wrong billing code and that she needed to change it. Well the old hag and her team refused too. I had to call Cinga and speak to someone higher up so they can call them an straighten this out. Short story, Cinga threaten to drop Sirott since she was billing me the patient incorrectly which is Fraud!! Fortunately my insurance company fought for me and Sirott had to re-bill the "correct way" and I didn't have to pay $240. It only took 2 months though! What a joke!!! Love Dr. Sirott! she has been my doctor for about 4 years, i moved from pasadena to santa clarita and i wouldn't change her, so drive all the way down to Pasadena just for her. she even delivered my first son and now i'm pregnant again and still going to her. she's not all giddy and airheadish, shes a professional and knows her stuff. so if you're looking for someone to be your fake friend then go elsewhere. if you want a doctor that knows what she's doing, gives you her undivided attention and answers all your questions accurately, then she's the best one for the job! Dr. Sirott was recommended by my mother's gynecologist who works out of the same office. My wife and I recently flew up to Pasadena from Central America to have our first child. Needless to say both of us were extremely nervous. We made a pre birth appointment, when my wife was 4 months pregnant, to get to know Dr. Sirott and make sure my wife felt comfortable with her. The visit went great and we returned to Central America with a list of information and tests Dr. Sirott wanted during the next few months. We were asked by Dr. Sirott to send the results to her personal email each month. This was the first of many times Dr. Sirott amazed us. I have been to many doctors before and have never been given their personal email address and told to contact them if I had any questions or concerns. With your first child there are always lots of questions (to the point where, jokingly, my wife said not to email Dr. Sirott anymore because she was not going to want to deliver our baby). Dr. Sirott always responded the same day we emailed her, many times within the hour. This was very helpful because the nearest large pharmacy was next to the main hospital, over 1 hour away from our home, and if we needed a prescription we were able to fill it before returning home. When my wife was 8 months pregnant we returned to Pasadena. We had several appointments with Dr. Sirott prior to the birth. Every time we went into her office we felt more and more comfortable with Dr. Sirott, her nurse Linda, and our decision to have the baby in the United States. When the day finally came we called Dr. Sirott's office and proceeded to Huntington Hospital. The birth could not have gone any easier. Dr. Sirott came into the delivery room, delivered our baby, gave us a congratulatory hug, and asked us to email her if we had any questions. While waiting for my daughters passport, documentation, and inoculations my wife developed 2 breast infections, one in each breast, and came down with the flu. Each time we emailed Dr. Sirott and asked her what we should do. Keep in mind this is after Dr. Sirott delivered our baby and did "her job". Dr. Sirott never made us feel like we were inconveniencing or bothering her (in fact she mentioned one time that we were not bothering her and that is "what she is here for"). The first of my wife's breast infections was on a Sunday and when we emailed Dr. Sirott she replied immediately and promptly called in my wife's prescriptions to our pharmacy. My wife had her antibiotics within 2 hours of contacting Dr. Sirott, again on a Sunday. Dr. Sirott spoiled my wife and me. My daughter has gone to several pediatricians to receive her inoculations and not one of them has given us their email or been available on a weekend in case any problems arose. Dr. Sirott and her nurse Linda went above and beyond my wife and my expectations. Eventually we will return to live in Los Angeles and my wife has mentioned many times she wants Dr. Sirott to be her ob-gyn and deliver our future children. I can not fathom anyone negatively speaking about Dr. Sirott. She is hands down the best doctor my wife or I have ever been to. read more
