Dr. N'Gouamba started as my OBGYN for my regular checkups. Then when I became pregnant, she delivered my 1st baby. Every time I saw her, she was kind, honest, straight-forward which I appreciated, answered all my questions, and was available when I had an emergency or off-hour questions. Her team was always kind. My delivery was an unexpected c-section that happened in a matter of hours. I was scared of the C-section process and she consoled me that everything will be alright. We delivered at Huntington Hospital. Her and the Huntington team did amazing. The whole delivery process was fast but it went really well! 2 weeks later, I'm recovering great (I'm walking regularly, have most of my movement, etc.) and my baby is happy and healthy! I have been going to this gyno for the past 3 years. My first two years she was a good provider. Unfortunately I can no longer stand by this statement. If you want a provider that is going to listen, have excellent bedside manner, and not have a clear unconscious bias about health and weight, this doctor is not the one for you. This past month I came in for my annual women's wellness exam that included a pap smear. I never once told this doctor that I had any health concerns, much less any concern for my diet and weight. Instead of your typical spiel regarding diet and exercise I was subjected to a bizarre line of questioning regarding what I eat, and then followed by her feigning concern about being mindful of not eating for "one and a half people." I did not appreciate this conversation, I am a healthy weight for my height and even if I was not, I did not ask for her opinion on my diet and exercise, I was here for a pap smear, and there is nothing that she can say about my health without looking at my vitals beforehand. Classic unchecked bias against people she deems overweight. I do not recommend her as a provider anymore. She needs to get a reality check. These reviews are not looking great for her, hope she changes her way of speaking to her patients. She is rude as hell for that. read more

Successful VBAC!!! After a horrible and traumatic experience with another OB, I did a careful search for someone that would make my second pregnancy and delivery a better experience. Dr. Rashida N'gouamba was amazing! She listened to my fears, and she coached me through a successful vaginal delivery. Also, slight natural tear and no episiotomy! The doctor goes above and beyond expectations. She personally messaged me just to check up on me multiple times. She is always available for questions and sincerely cares about her patients. Came for an annual appointment as a new patient. I forgot my mask and was asked to got downstairs and buy one from the pharmacy. What kind of medical office doesn't have extra masks?? That was just the beginning. I WAITED NAKED FOR 45 MINS in a cold, air conditioned room till the doctor showed up. She asked me some questions and told me my blood pressure was kinda high but didn't say more about why that could be, what is normal till I asked questions. I told the doctor I suspect I might have UTI and that I bought testing kit. She said those are not accurate and asked if I wanted to do it there, I said yes and so she gave me a cup and left the room. After giving the sample, I went to the receptionist to checkout and she gave me a form and told me to take my pee sample with me to a lab. Then why did you tell me to do it there? Do you really think I will carry my pee with me to a lab that is already closed?? That's just ridiculous! The whole experience was disappointing. read more

I began seeing Dr. N'gouamba in January of this year, and at first I thought she was great! I waited longer than normal for my appointment, but that showed that she was thorough in caring for her patients, so I didn't mind. However, after 4 appointments with this practice, I'm honestly not sure why they had me waiting for so long (seriously I waited 2 hours for visit #2). Every appointment I've had here has seemed very rushed - like a race to get me out of there. I timed this most recent followup (visit #4) and it clocked in at 7 minutes!! While I appreciate being quick with uncomfortable procedures, I don't appreciate overhearing things like "oh well that's okay because she wants this to go fast anyway" when my appointment is interrupted (visit #3). It makes me feel like I'm not being cared for as a patient. I've also had to request multiple times for my bloodwork and test results to be uploaded to the patient portal (which they still are not), despite already completing an in person follow up appointment regarding them. (again, visit #4) When on the phone, I was told the doctor doesn't use the messaging feature in their patient portal, and I would need to make another appointment with them if I had any additional questions. This whole thing has quite honestly become exhausting, not to mention frightening. Its unfair and frustrating to me as the patient to only receive bits of information about my health, and I find it BEYOND unprofessional that I even need to ask for my own test results. read more

Dr. N'gouamba was the ideal doctor! I was nervous for my first appointment with a gynecologist, but she put me at ease right away. She was kind, communicative, and friendly. I felt very safe and respected during such a vulnerable experience. I also asked a bunch of simple questions and she was really patient with me. I would recommend Dr. N'gouamba wholeheartedly! The office staff was very great too. Diane was encouraging and thoughtful when I talked about being nervous. The wait was a little long, but it was overall a really pleasant experience. Made me wait for over an hour and no apologies. Drove in traffic to make the appointment on time. Double booked me and spent over 30 min with another family. After waiting for over an hour, I was seen and the appointment was only 6 minutes. It felt extremely rushed. The $1 mask rule is ridiculous as well. First pregnancy, and she couldn't care less about educating myself and my husband and even giving more information on my health. She comes off as rude and curt. She needs to work on her bedside manner. Pregnancy is such a beautiful time but left so disappointed at how rushed and pushed to the side the whole thing felt. read more

I would warn any first time moms to not see Dr. N'gouamba. She lacks bedside manners and is very cold. I am pregnant and feel like there has been a massive lack of care and communication. She will say inappropriate commentary including "if you want to do that test, you can it's not like I get paid for it" regarding genetic testing. I had a massive scare and had to head to the ER and contacted her weekend staff who assured me she would call in 20-30 minutes, instead I received a text message and no call only increasing my anxiety and further highlighting her lack of care. I had to schedule a follow up and when my husband and I went she didn't even look at my hematoma and came in saying "I have to move quick I have to get to surgery" again highlighting her lack of care particularly after a massive scare. She doesn't provide imagery from fetal ultrasounds and makes it clear it's just a job, when we asked if she could see our babies gender she said her equipment wasn't good and moved on. I agree with other comments that her commentary is out of line and would not recommended anyone to see her especially if it's your first pregnancy. She lacks social grace and has made seeveral comments that left my husband and I feeling uncomfortable. Her front staff is also less than professional aside from the older woman who works up front. Her MA asked me about microblading randomly after a visit and was trying to solicit her business which is completely unprofessional and bizarre. When I requested my medical records as I was transferring my care, they never mentioned anything about a fee and tried to charge me upon pickup. I told them I wouldn't pay and just wanted my records so I could move on. No wonder they are being looked at by the BBB, also don't forget your mask as they charge you a dollar which is also sketchy considering no other Huntington hospital facilities do this. read more

Stills performing myomectomy using the T Technique. She cuts you open in the form of a "T" shape as opposed to a small incision below your bikini line (c-section incision). Ok, I was so excited to find a new MD that is my color. No offense to anyone. I just wanted a MD that really understands what I go through . As African American women have some issues more than others. Not all but some. So I was really excited to see MD N Gouamba. It took almost 3 months to finally get to see her. When I arrived the receptionist was so unprofessional. She was on the phone and had me wait for about 4 minutes without saying a word. Next she said we require mask. I told her I didn't have one. She said well you need to buy one for $1.00. Like what , like wait.... $1.00 for a mask. I had her repeat herself because I could not believe my ears. I told her I am not paying for a mask. She said well it's required. So needless to say I told the receptionist to cancel my appointment. She said ok. Then I left. Now , I am a RN and if I worked in a office and a patient did not have a mask or a $1.00 to pay for one. I would offer to give them the mask. I mean this MD was going to probably make thousands from billing my insurance, and I can't get a mask. Through this entire pandemic of three years I have never I mean never been asked to pay for a mask. Not even at the local Taco Bell. This was such a turn off. It made me feel like MD Rashida N Gouamba is money hungry. Such a turn off. I waited 3 months and because I couldn't get a mask I could not see the MD. This is a poor way of business. Was looking for a new gyno as mine unexpected left her practice. Dr N'gouamba was one of the few that could see me fairly soon, took my insurance, and had great reviews online so I thought I'd give it a shot. Kudos to the front desk and the nurse that brought me to my room and got my basic information, they were both very sweet. The doctor on the other hand seemed to be annoyed that I was there? I think because I was not pregnant, not looking to get pregnant, or seeking some new form of birth control, the doctor had this energy of "why are you here?" After going over my concerns regarding my PCOS history, she seemed bored and uninterested. I also explained how my old gyno had started a medication for me and I would need a refill in 2 months. She told me to call back when I needed it but when I did, the front desk called me back to let me know it was a courtesy refill and my primary would need to fill it moving forward. We played a game of phone tag because they were trying to send a form of the medication that was not covered by insurance and I ultimately gave up. Maybe Rashida is a kind, welcoming doctor for those looking to get pregnant, or already are, but for me, as a woman simply looking for a gyno that could help me track/monitor my overall health, all I got was a cold womansplainer. read more

I was pleasantly surprised, I finally found my OBGYN!!! She took the time to really understand and throughly request proper lab and exams before making a final course of action. Why is this important? Women of color have higher rates of dying from cervical cancer, pregnancy related deaths and other healthcare disparities. Went to Dr. Rashida N'gouamba after receiving my results. I had heard very great things about her, she met all my expectations. I had a minor procedure done in office and she walked me through the entire process. She made me feel very comfortable in a oddly uncomfortable situation. I would warn those considering coming to Dr. N'gouamba to find another doctor. Dr. N'gouamba could not properly conduct a simple ultrasound to check on the placement of my IUD. She spent what felt like at least 15 minutes fishing around in my body while saying things like "wow - I can't find your uterus! The only other time this has happened was when I was examining someone who had a hysterectomy!" In what world is that acceptable bedside manner? I was extremely uncomfortable and frankly scared that something was wrong. Then she sent me to get ultrasounds at a nearby facility, Huntington Hill Imaging. Now, over a month later, I have been hit with a surprise $419 bill from Huntington Hill because they are claiming it was not covered by my insurance, but I wasn't notified in advance of having the ultrasounds done. The point is, I should not have had to go to another provider to receive standard care and this provider should not have been recommended to me due to the fact that this service would not be covered by my insurance. I am extremely dissatisfied by my experience and have now wasted hours of my time (and potentially $419) because of Dr. N'gouamba's unprofessionalism. read more

do not go to her if you want a decent connection and good bedside manner. she is rude, comes off very arrogant and has just a very nasty demeanor. i tried to tell her that I think I am suffering from PMDD after years of having very significant mood swings during my menstruating cycle, and she interrupts me abruptly and tells me that I'm not qualified to self diagnosed and for me to just tell me what the symptoms are, so that she can actually diagnose me, which I understand but the way she said it was so rude and dismissive that it made me feel very uncomfortable. Turns out she diagnosed me with PMDD.... Because of exactly what I told her that I was going through and how I believed it also to be PMDD lol she sucks, there are a lot more obgyn's of color that will make you feel much more comfortable! i'm glad i made the switch. read more

Dr. N'Gouamba oversaw my geriatric pregnancy and delivered my daughter via c-section. I'm writing this because giving birth during covid times sucks. And my hospital stay wasn't the most pleasant, but Dr N'Gouamba always had my back. She made sure I had the right pain medications, was always up to date on where I was in my pregnancy and delivery. Gave me sound advice that was geared toward my life and individual pregnancy. Heck, she gave me the medical okay to take a job out of state for my second trimester and still stayed on top of my health (and the baby's health) from across the country. I'm writing this review because I was talking to girlfriends about pregnancy/birth, and I realized how often women have doctors -- OBs! -- that expect us and our pregnancies to all be the same. That they almost phone-in the treatment. Not Dr N'Gouamba. She cares and understands that every women is different and comes with her own wants/fears/needs. Love her. read more
