Healthcare partners medical group is your nightmare come true. No kidding. Dr. Teng herself is ok, but the billing department is a mess. This is their trick:
1. They tell you your insurance does not cover the services. You have to pay out of pocket. You ask if in case they get paid by insurance later, they say you will receive refund. They will give you a receipt, but it is not itemized nor does it detail the breakdown/cost for each procedure.
2. Once you pay them out of pocket, they simply make no effort to contact your insurance. You have to call them repeatedly, and even tell them to use the proper codes, then reluctantly they will start filing using the proper codes, and of course your insurance recognize proper codes and will reimburse money.
3. After they receive money from your insurance for the medical treatment you paid for already, their accounting/billing case specialist will call you, not to reimburse you, but to tell you that you did not pay enough at the first place. Therefore you will receive no refund. Because they did not give you itemized receipt detailing the services and cost in the first place, it is very difficult to communicate with these specialist. They will tell you different numbers from what you were told before in the office.
4. They will even hint at you that you might still owe them money.
5. You ask them to look at the case history and logs from previous telephone calls, and to call the doctor's office. They will talk over you and say you have to be patient (it's been more than 4 months) (and plus, which ethical law is it that the debtor has right to ask creditor for patience?).
6. Lastly, they hang you up.
It is really unbelievable how they reach the conclusion that you did not pay them enough, with all the logs, evidence from doctor's office (even the receptionist in Dr. Teng's office agrees that you paid all out of pocket, owes nothing), previous telephone calls... etc. They tell you to pay out of pocket for everything because they say insurance does not cover. After you work so hard to make them make claims, then story is changed after they got money from insurance. This is a very unethical group. Their case specialists are simply rude and unreasonable. She talks over you, then accuse you of yelling at her, which you simply were trying to talk reasons with her over her voice, then she hangs up the phone.
IRS, please look into their accounting, I'm sure it is full of lies.
DON'T TRY THIS MEDICAL GROUP. THEY ARE UNETHICAL AND FULL OF LIES. if not, they have major problems with their logs and billing system, which I do not want to be too naive to assume this. read more
