Yourik assisted me in doing my smog test today. He was kind, respectful, honest, and knowledgeable. Sometimes being a woman and getting your car service can feel like a scam, however I would recommend his business. It was quick, less than 10 minutes and not expensive. Overall I would say my experience was a 10/10!! read more

Guy was in a bit of a hurry and hastily took care of me. No hard feelings, I also just wanted to get my work done and go about my day. Value-wise, it is very well-priced. You can't do better. You get in, they take care of business, you pay and you get out. Very practical and straightforward. Best place in Pasadena to do the Smog check. read more

I got here today at 8 am and I was the first customer of the day. I have a 2007 Ford Expedition. I waited in the garage and I did not have to wait long. It only took about 15 minutes and only cost me $65. This is a great place to get your vehicle smog tested. read more

Alright I have a 2016 Camry the check annoy level light comes on but I have to get the registration sticker Long story short I take the car to a place further east on the same street " we will be roasting them shortly " but I continue get a diagnostic and deal with the light issue Well To the tune of almost six hundred bucks they turn light off and me too This is a Friday Pay get my car they say drive it for 1hundred miles and bring it back Monday and we can smog Well obviously I didn't and they damaged my car too So in conclusion Go to this spot It's convenient the owner is great no nonsense And I was hella stressed out before going here but it worked out fine It was ez and he takes cash for a discount or plastic for the usual smog rate Smog here only Side note do drive for about 20 minutes preferably freeway before getting tested read more

They charged $40 in cash on top of the $60 for the smog test because of a past error code that "may come up in the future." But it's a past error code. My car passed inspection. They charged for this in cash because it wasn't a legitimate charge, but they were refusing to give me the smog test paper if I didn't pay the $40 extra dollars. Don't come here. read more

Don't believe their pricing. I called this place, asked the price of a STAR Smog for my year & model car. Was told it was $45 credit, or $40 cash. I showed up later that day when I said I would. Towards the end of the smog the guy hands me a bill for $45. When I pay, I ask, "isn't it $40 cash?" (I was paying cash). "No, it says right here, $45". I wound up paying $45. If you're looking for a smog, I've always had a pleasant experience with Sam at Vista Test Only (on Colorado Blvd just West of San Gabriel). I wish I had given him my money, or any other smog station read more

Quick and cheap service. Highly recommend anyone to go here for a smog check! The service guy was very helpful and pleasant to talk too!

Quick, easy, fast, prompt service. It was done before we knew it. Friendly staff. Paid $55 for smog check, cash or credit both accepted.

Stopped in because the place was empty and I soon figured out why. The combative attitude on this technician is next level! I don't think he's ever heard of repeat business or referrals. I wasn't in a bad mood when I arrived but I was when I left and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. If I didn't absolutely need to get my test done that day, I would have gone elsewhere, as should you. Save money and sanity and go elsewhere, or, if you like arguing and pricing that changes every time this guy is inconvenienced in anyway, this is the place for you. read more

I came here super early on a Saturday morning and I was so happy that this place was open. Most of the mechanics on Walnut close over the weekends, which is great for them, but bad for those of us who work during the week. There was one technician on duty and I was literally in and out within 15 minutes. Not only was I impressed, he was super sweet and I was on my way! The cost is pretty standard, which is $40. My first option had a Yelp deal, but, since they weren't open, they didn't get my money! Knowing that this place is open early on a weekend is a huge place as it literally takes me three minutes to get there, fifteen minutes to wait, and three minutes to get home! That's awesome! read more

I meant to go to another place with very similar name and great Yelp reviews nearby, but GPS accidentally got me to this place. The technician is very rude.. I should have checked before started, but I assumed it's the other place's price. Price is much higher than the other place. After job done, the technician insisted that my car needs an extra $40 because the engine light is "going to light up soon" and I need to pay him this money to pass the test. That doesn't make any sense, but I got scared of that guy and had to pay. Avoid! read more

I hate writing negative reviews, but I had to. We took our car in and the guy told us our catalytic converter didn't meet CA regulations - mind you, we had not had the catalytic converter changed between any smog checks and had passed all smogs before. We took the car to a mechanic to have it checked out to get it replaced. Luckily, the mechanic was honest - took a look and pulled up the CA regulations showing our car was completely covered. We had to pay for the initial smog, but definitely did not go back to get a second smog check. This cost us two smog checks and a visit to a mechanic to waste more time. Double check if he says your car failed the smog... read more

Can't say I wasn't warned about this place, is really not a friendly place, the tech yourik is not a professional person. Bad attitude, this place needs a new tech or will lose business real soon. I'm warning you, go somewhere else. If your vehicle has a check engine light on, it will not pass smog. knowing this CA state rule , yourik still charged me and said " maybe your battery reset, drive for 200 miles bring back", then you just pay $11. what a scam, my car wasn't gonna pass anyway with that check engine light on. you guys been getting by robbing from us poor folks, karma is real, change your evil ways or pay the consequences. earn that $$$ the right way... I meant to go to the other place with a similar name more east (did a great job before, go there instead) but I decided to stop here since it was closer. This place gets no stars because he did an OK job but he seemed rude from the beginning in telling me how to park. The test went fine but he had the nerve to call me afterward to yell about using the bathroom, which nothing wrong happened. Are you serious? Like I would ever come back here anyway. I don't work there, what am I supposed to do with that? Don't go here. Also I'm seeing that it was supposed to be less than I paid. Bye read more

The owner (I'm assuming) is a super nice and friendly guy! Called on Monday to make sure it was okay for me to stop in without an appointment. Told him I'd be there in 5 and he was perfectly okay with that. Drove up, and I guess a guy happened to beat me there, but the owner told me that it shouldn't take too long & to grab a seat. Since the market was down the street, I decided to just walk it there real fast & hopefully he'd be working on my car by the time I was finished. 10 minutes later I walk back, and the other guy's car is still being worked on. I wasn't too worried about it. It was a good 20 minute wait afterwards, but the owner kept apologizing non-stop. Can't be mad at that! My smog check was finished in like 10 minutes. Everything was perfect, he sent it to the DMV and all was done! Paid $40 and I was out. :D read more

I found this place by accident. they are STAR rated now I thought the Maps throw me off. I was on my way to somewhere else. I took My old lady 03 Toyota in and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes he's professional but not real friendly but not rude either , I will be back with my GMC very professional and he thank me for my business. I'm giving five stars because he did the job quickly and professionally. Also at $40 that's a competitive price. Ruben Oh yeah he's real close to the auto club AAA only a few minutes away. read more

I'm so stoked I passed. Had to go to a STAR smog check. He's very thorough. I was bummed it was $60 but I usually get charged more if they'll take. '96 at all, some don't. Super quick, thurs around 10ish. One guy ahead of me finishing up and I didn't time it but was quick and efficient. And the dude was cool, I didn't catch his name though. read more

I only give this place 2 stars because my mom's car passed the smog inspection. When I went to pay the guy, he said $40 dollars. I gave him two 20s that were the version of money before the current ones. He said he can't accept because they were fake. The guy needs a lesson in money. read more

While i was getting my car washed, I yelped smog test and called the first shop up n had to make an appointment so I scrolled through and called up this shop and was told they could do it for a good price and right away. Right when i got my clean car, i drove a couple blocks down and had to find this tiny, single-car test shop. Alen knew it was me who called right away and got me started. It was so quick, i couldnt even start this review. Definitely awesome first time smog check :) read more

Pasadena Test Only Center - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Pasadena, California

If you need to get your smog check, I recommend going to Pasadena Test Only Center. I had been meaning to get my vehicle sniffed and was in Pasadena for a meeting. I discovered this place on Yelp and figured I'd go before my meeting. They did my smog right when I arrived. It was done relatively quick. The employee was very friendly and professionally. Could definitely tell that he has experience and enjoys what he does. read more

Yelp does it again! I was at the Paseo and looking for a nearby shop for a quick smog check between appointments. I yelped the area, found this place, and was literally done (from drive-up to drive-away) in maybe 10 minutes. $40 for a smog check on a Prius, he takes credit cards, I've never had anything car related go easier. If you are in the area and need a quick, painless smog check, this is the place to go. He is on the corner of Walnut and Wilson, a little far back from the street down Wilson. No waiting room, just an area to the side with some patio chairs. I barely sat down, it all happened so fast! read more

Great place! It is located on the corner, right next to a Porsche place. Quick and easy. No hassle. There was just one gentleman there doing everything. Very convenient and the most reasonably priced place I found after a quick search read more

Fast! They took me right away and got started on my car. In under 15 minutes it was done and my smog check was sent electronically to the DMV! It was $55. The waiting room was really just plastic seats on the side of the garage (so you get to watch the guy work on your car). read more

Great place to go for quick but quality service when you need to get your car smog check. Reasonable prices and personable service.

On Friday, February 2, 2018 at noon I brought my 2012 Civic here to get a smog check on my lunch break at work. The owner was real cool, he hooked up the vehicle, did his thing and I was out of their in 15 minutes for $40. Vehicle smog checks pricing varies depending on the car. I highly recommend cause it's no haggle and reasonable price. read more

Most certainly not a welcoming place and the fellow working here wasn't knowledgeable about really anything. I have a 2005 Scion TC which from my perspective works fine. Runs great, but didn't pass smog due to an issue with my gas cap not being tight enough (which I had to find out on my own). When I asked the tech about the fail codes, had no clue what they meant. Might as well have asked a 5 year old to test my vehicle. The only knowledgeable thing about this place is that they know how to take money, but not so much how to earn it. Save your money. read more

Yuri was very kind professional and helpful, did my test immediately and quickly for a great price. I'll be going to him from now on.

Just got back from the center. Yuri was quick, efficient, friendly and super-business like. Highly recommend! In and out in 10 mins.

Service was quick and professional. Lady before me had some other car issues and owner ran across a street to get tools necessary to help her start a car. I'm happy whenever I can support business like this. read more

Apparently my 1990 Jeep Cherokee is considered a "high emitter" and so I had to take it to a test only station for my smog check. I pulled up at 9:05AM and was back on the road by 9:20AM. The technician on duty was polite (quiet) and extremely efficient. There isn't much of a waiting room -- more like a stack of patio chairs on the side of the garage. Fortunately, the service was so quick that I didn't need to sit down - I just waited on the curb. The cost was lower than expected ($60.00 for a truck including certificate fee.) I have paid as high as $80 at gas station smog checks and those made me wait hours. I will probably take every future car I own here as necessary. read more

I brought my 1995 Toyota Corolla here on a Saturday morning and had a good experience. There was no other cars there; the wait was about 10 minutes from the time I pulled in until the time I drove off. The guy on duty was businesslike and efficient. Cost was about $70.00 total. No muss, no fuss. Good job. read more

Alen was the technichian, took my truck and ran. This place was super quick. I've waited longer at Starbucks. Totally dug the current Maxim Magazine in the Plastic Chair Lounge. Ok it's not a lounge, more like a walkway with chairs strewn about. But it's cool, cuz you can see your vehicle being checked. I love to watch the tires spin on the testing line. After $65 bucks and 15 minutes, I was on the road again. I can sleep better knowing my Ford pick-up is legal. Only another $375 to the DMV and I get a cool 2011 sticka'. read more

I have taken my car and my husband's car here over the years. I have always been happy with the service - he is quick! I tried a new smog place today since it was closer to home but I immediately regretted it (he said he couldn't do the test because he couldn't read the computer). I came to Pasadena Test Only and he got it done right away with no problem. I am never going anywhere else! read more

I was in and out of this place super quick! Fast, quick, and easy. I'll definitely use them again next time I need a smog check!

Man...this place is a no thrills get in get out kind of place. I like how the mechanic was nice and straight to business. I called beforehand to get a quote and was charged what I was quoted, $40. I called other places and this place is by far the cheapest I've seen. On average you are looking to spend like $60 and up. I hope he doesn't raise his prices. read more

Super quick, I was in and out in maybe 10 minutes. No appointment, just showed up. At $40 for a smog check, decent price too. Overall, pretty good. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS CROOK! Would you think a transmission warning would be reason not to pass smog? I didn't either. This guy turned on the engine twice, saw the TRASMISSION warning each time and did not inform me that this would be reason enough not to certify smog. Then he quietly does his paperwork, shows that the emissions are ok, then tells me he can't certify the car because of the transmission warning. So essentially he charged me $32 just to tell me that the transmission warning invalidates passing smog. If he was an honest and legit guy, don't you think he would have said something BEFORE starting the test? Obviously he is just trying to take people's money and is not concerned with any form of customer satisfaction. Again, DON'T GO TO THIS CROOK! read more

Extremely quick, efficient and professional services. The telephone quote was the same price. Very friendly service and convenient location. read more

I went here during my lunch break, and assumed it might be busy at that time of day. It wasn't. I drove in, was greeted warmly, and the testing commenced immediately. I was back at work in 30 minutes. I'm not sure if they take debit/credit cards. There was a card processing machine there, but the invoice reads "cash only". Fortunately, I had the cash to pay. Quick, efficient and friendly service. That's about perfect. read more

If I checked here, it was a mistake and I apologize. I thought I had checked in at a Star Smog station with a similar name.
