I called about 10 minutes before the shop was due to close for the day, and Gary, the owner, kindly offered to wait for us. We stayed in the car during the test while all the readings were taken. The whole process took about 10 minutes, and we were done. The price was very fair compared with other locations in the area, and the service was fast and efficient. Gary was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He noticed that a plastic sleeve from the air filter had fallen into the engine compartment and was rubbing against the belts. He helped us remove it and made sure we understood that it needed attention. He then sent us straight to our mechanic--and even gave us cold bottles of water for the road. Our experience was 100% positive. This is exactly how you hope to be treated when you choose to do business with true professionals. Thank you, Gary! read more

I found All Smog Test Only in an online search for a smog place near me. All Smog is located at a Shell station and it has one service bay/stall next to another that does oil changes. I got there around 9:30am today (Thursday) and was able to drive right up. Gary was very professional and the service was very fast - maybe 15 minutes from pulling in to leaving. I remained in my car during the service. The cash price was $49. When the service was completed, I received a coupon for $20 off any smog check. Overall, this was a convenient option for me and a very pleasant experience. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. read more

This place is great - not counting my small talk with the owner (Gary), I'd say the job was done in probably 10-15 minutes tops, and there was fortunately no wait when I arrived (no appointment). Because this facility is located within a gas station, maneuvering my car in and out for testing was not challenging at all. Only $45 cash (out the door) for the smog check (4D mid-size sedan), and unlike a nearby competing shop (that shall go unnamed), the owner of this shop did not attempt to elicit a gratuity (said unnamed competing shop also charged quite a bit more in 2023 for a smog test of the same vehicle - $58). Electronic submission of my passing smog test result was confirmed by DMV the same day, allowing my registration renewal to proceed unhindered. Probably the best smog test facility I've ever been to, and I'll definitely be back here for my next smog test! read more

I just got my smog check done today. I have been coming here for the last three smog checks. I got walked through every step. He showed me my engine and even caught that I was low on coolant. I went and got a gallon of antifreeze right away and my car is doing great. I've been driving my car for 20 years and since I moved to Pasadena he's been my go-to for my Smog Checks. I'll be coming here for years to come. Thank you Gary! There was no wait and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. read more

Gary was great! Honest and reasonable pricing. We did not have an appointment and he was able to take care of me and my aunt quickly! He even offered us water while we waited. Polite and reliable service! We also heard another appointment he did after where he helped troubleshoot so they would pass their smog. Would recommmend and come back. read more

I've been coming here to do all my smog checks with Gary for 3 different cars ever since I moved to Pasadena 6 years ago. This smog center is within a shell gas station. I called in advance asking if I could still get my smog done without the paperwork(the answer is yes). The Owner made everything easy enough and i formed me of next steps for the whole process. The DMV reporting is also handled and takes around 10-15 minutes to finish a confirmation (after your smog is done) read more

Found this location near me when searching on apple maps with great reviews. I came to have a star certified smog test to renew my vehicle. It is kinda connected to a Shell gas station. I came 30min before closing and asked first if I could get taken in and he kindly agreed. Gary really cares about people and has outstanding character. He values honesty and fairness. He told me the things I needed to do for my car's specific needs, and my car passed the test! Truly a gem because of him! The cost was a great value! Bonus: it was late afternoon on a hot sunny day, and his cologne still smelled great! read more

I came here after work, it was already closer to 5 which was closer to closing time. I spoke to Gary and let him know I was 15 minutes away he said that it was fine and that he would wait. I'm leaving this comment so that next time I need a smog check or my friends need a recommendation, I know where to go. I went in for a smog check today. The owner didn't greet me with a smile or try to do small talks or whatever, not that I expected him to...but he was fast, the service was inexpensive. Everything was smooth. It was a warm sunny day and while I was waiting inside, he came over and handed me a bottle of ice water. Very unexpected and very much appreciated. I thought I should write a review as a thank you. read more

I went to get a SMOG test today at "All SMOG Test Only Star Station" located at the intersection of San Gabriel and Colorado Blvds within the Shell gas station. I was told it would cost $48 (via credit card) for the test and after about 10 min, the test was complete. The attendant wanted me to make payment, but I noticed that the report said that I needed a retest. When I asked why I needed the retest, he was unwilling to explain and insisted that I make the payment first. After some back and forth, he said the computers would not connect and that was not his problem (which made no sense to me). I looked at the report which indicated that after driving 50 - 100 miles, I could retest for another $35. It almost seemed orchestrated that he was trying to get more money from me from the get-go. Reluctantly, I still made the payment (even though I felt that I shouldn't have) but we exchanged unpleasantries and he told me not come back. I got charged $39.75 for nothing - I guess the cost is $8.25 less if you have to retest : 0. What a rip-off! I would give this SMOG station "zero" or even better "negative" stars, if possible. No way to run a business IMO. It would've helped if the guy was able to communicate in English properly. read more
