Lake Smog Test Only was quick and straightforward. It's on the north side of Washington Blvd, about mid-block between N Lake Ave and El Molino Ave. With the coupon available on SmogTips.com the price was probably one of the better ones I found. I was the only car there at the time and the whole thing took about 20 minutes. Since there's only one bay and one tech, I can see it taking a little longer if there are a few cars ahead of you. There's also a shaded waiting area, which is nice so you're not just standing out in the sun or rain. Overall, quick service, good price, and no hassle. read more

Fast and friendly service! The coupon on their website made this the best price I found. Definitely coming back for my next smog check.

Such great service, in and out quickly, very friendly owner. Price was fair and I was out within 30 minutes . Highly recommend this smog test location. Thank You read more

Go see Henry! He's friendly, fast and fairly priced. Can't ask for more from a smog check provider.

Henrik is our go to guy. Very reasonsble, better with cash only. Read his coupons carefully though.

I can't complain. This place had the best prices for smog. The small test was quick and easy, and I didn't have a problem. The technician was also very considerate and gave good customer service. read more

$60. He claimed I got $20 off. Did not offer me any online or cash-only option. Should have gone around the corner and saved myself the drive. It was quick. No more than 15 minutes. For that, 1 star. read more

I arrived early in the morning without making an appointment and was thankful there wasn't a line! I only had one car in front of me and they said they needed 10 min and they were correct down to the second. Their service was very efficient and professional. read more

They offered an on-line, cash only coupon which made this PITA Calif process a breeze. One Prius ahead of me, waited in their outdoor sheltered lounge. No shenanigans, in and out in maybe 20 minutes total. Since I was in this part of town and saved a little money on my smog check, I also went to Louisiana Fried Chicken around the corner for a quick cheap lunch. All in all not a horrible way to spend a mini day of chores. read more

5.0 stars for Lake Smog! Quick and efficient 15 min smog test. Price was great and the owner was friendly. Definitely use the coupon provided on their website! I called around to a few other places in the area, and this place had the best rate by far. read more

Quick service and great deal. 40 Dollars for a Smog using coupon on the website. Highly recommend.

Convenient, fast, and reasonably priced. Checks all the boxes for a smog test place. The fellow was nice enough and got down to business quickly. Look on the website for a coupon. After I left, I noticed that he actually charged me a couple bucks more than the coupon noted, but since I was already gone, and only need to get the car smogged every 2 years, it wasn't a big deal. Still a decent price for the smog check and love the convienece. Although I think our CA regulations of these smog checks are ridiculous, this is clearly not the fault of the venues. At least there are some places, like this place that isn't gouging the customer. I'll be back for another car in the next year! read more

Super friendly and quick service! Came on a Thursday early afternoon and there was no wait. 10/10 recommend and would come again.

I've had 3 smog tests completed here over the past few years. Fast and efficient. I recommend highly.

I had the same experience as the other user "Junk M" below. I went there to use their coupon on the website. I didn't pass and he won't let me retest for free. Other places let retest for free if you look for it! He was very rude about it. Not recommended. read more

This place is great! I went at 4:45pm and was done by 5pm. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. The parking isn't the best and might have a hard time parking upon arrival but def worth the swiftness. Highly recommended. read more

Always amazing service when I need a smog check. It takes less than 10 minutes for the process. There may be a short wait if other cars are in line. Remember to check their website for a coupon and use cash for the discount! read more

April 2023 Updating my review, please see the details in my previous review below. Lake Smog is still leading the smog check game! I called - no wait, CV19-safe, great price (show that online coupon), quick courteous service. I'm telling everyone, starting with YOU. read more

The way you do this place is go to the website for the coupon and bring in two twenties and your DMV paperwork. In and out in ten minutes.

Service was quick, affordable and he had me out of there in 20 minutes. Much appreciated.

Rude: Very disappointing experience. The technician was rude and unhelpful. Unlike other places where techs run a preliminary check and offer advice to help you pass, this technician failed my car immediately without any guidance on how to fix the issues. Lacks Basic Knowledge & Consideration: This is bad because once a car fails, other techs often won't smog it, forcing you to return here. Re-Charges for Re Smog & Coupon Screw over: Re smogs after fail should be free if it's re smogged in 30 days. But, he said because I used his coupon from his website, to get smogged at his station (which initially saved me $30 bucks). He said he is re charging me for a re smog even though I brought it in literally a week later. He charged me another $40. For a re smog. Money Hungry: This "policy" seems designed to take advantage of customers. This smog tech clearly either lacks understanding or is just in it for self and financial gain. No consideration for a customer's needs. I hope future customers have a better experience, but I won't be returning. read more

Very nice person - but I feel that I was overcharged. I have a 2010 Sedan and he charged $50. I will not return.

Super fast, friendly staff. In and out service. Support local business. Even over the phone he's friendly.

Smog test right? What's the big deal? Wrong! So quick, very fair price, great service, and the service person was friendly, competent, quick, personable, helpful. He was a delight to work with. I was in and out quickly. Honestly, it was a pleasure. read more

We brought our vehicle in for testing and showed the cash only coupon from the website for $40. Our car passed the emissions part test but he could not test the computer because we had recently replaced the battery and it had not reset yet. He charged me $31 for the test and very clearly told me I needed to drive it around for a few days and bring it back to retest the computer (highlighted on receipt) and I would only be charged for the certificate, $8.75. We returned 4 days later, after driving 75 miles, and after the test passed he demanded $40 and claimed he never told me that. There are lots of convenient places to test in Pasadena, I would avoid this location at all costs, a total rip off and a dishonest business owner. I know what was told to me, and this is a complete bait and switch, after the fact. read more

Called on the phone, "available in 10 minutes" so I went over for a smog check that was quick, nice and a great price!

5 Stars service, great price and actually convenient hours for working people. Highly recommend.

Best experience I've ever had for a smog check. It was quick; the wait was comfortable; and the price is right. Word to the wise: if you're using a coupon, be sure to present it at the beginning of your service. read more

So I had just moved back to CA and needed to get my car smog checked so I could register it. I chose Lake based on their reviews and accessibility. The gentleman who assisted me was incredibly courteous. I had an online coupon that I did not read properly and when he finished I mentioned it to him. The coupon said to show it BEFORE service began. I admit that I was rude and entitled when asking him to allow me to use the coupon anyway. This man was a true gentleman... he never allowed my attitude to sway his own calm demeanor. He honored the coupon, stood his ground gently and firmly, and even turned my car around in the tight space it was in to make it easier for me to leave. I ended up apologizing profusely because I was embarrassed by my own behavior and wanted to show up better. This company is wonderful and I cannot say enough how courteous this man was! read more
