The DMV sent me a letter saying my 2017 Hyundai Ioniq needed a smog test. I found MISSION SMOG on Google and since it was close enough to home, I went there. FREDDIE is the owner -- Freddie dropped what he was doing, drove my car in, tested it, and I was out the door in about six minutes flat. Go see Freddie because he will drop what he's doing and HELP YOU OUT! I cannot recommend Freddie and his business MISSION SMOG enough. The reviews are all true. Fred, the owner, couldn't be nicer. He said go ahead and leave the engine running, and he'd take care of it. Took a whole 12 minutes! He said remind him of the $10 coupon, and he'd subtract it. Fred automatically sends the test results to the DMV. I like that the smog test center is at the Arco station I always go to. Initially, my car didn't pass. What?? Fred asked whether I had recently gotten a new battery. Yes, I had, a few weeks prior. He said when the battery is disconnected, the syncing between the battery and the car's computer gets thrown off. So a car that's fine can fail the smog test -- due solely to the battery/computer needing to be reset. If your car fails as mine did initially, Fred offers a free retest within 30 days. Other smog test centers will charge you double. To reset the battery, Fred said to drive continuously on the freeway for 50-100 miles, and then come back for the retest. When I drove and went back, my car passed. Yay! I heartily recommend Fred and his smog test center. No more scrambling every two years with the DMV. I will come here. Thanks, Fred! read more

Everything I heard and read about this place, and the owner Fred, is true. Friendly, helpful, and great service. I needed to check the monitors before my car could be smogged, as I just had a repair done and the computer had to re-calibrate before testing.
