I was in and out in 10 minutes with a pass!! I didn't read my DMV registration carefully this year and just paid the fees without getting the SMOG check. Found SMOG World on google with high ratings and very close to my home. I was greeted by the shop human Vic and his cute shop tabby cat Maiden. I was more than happy to play with the cat while waiting for the smog check. Very nice family business and cool people. Apparently they've been in the business for 25 years! I'm not going back to my usual place in LA anymore! Thank you for the great service!! read more

I recently brought my wife's car for her smog check. Vic was very professional, respectful, and genuinely thoughtful throughout the entire process. You can tell he takes pride not only in the work he does on the cars, but also in how he treats his customers. The service was straightforward, honest, and stress-free, which I really appreciate. It's refreshing to come across someone who is knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure the customer feels taken care of rather than just treating you like another transaction. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for honest and professional service. He even polished her headlights at no cost! I'll definitely be coming back in the future! read more

Overall Experience I've been to this place twice for smog check services on two different vehicles -- once in March and again in May. Both times, everything was resolved the same day. From the first interaction to the final paperwork, the experience was consistently smooth and professional. Customer Service March 2026 - I originally called around to several smog check locations. Some offered slightly cheaper pricing for my older vehicle, but the reviews here stood out to me. When I called regarding my 1999 Infiniti G20, Vic answered the phone, provided me with a quote, and was respectful, patient, and professional throughout the conversation. The reviews about him were accurate. Vic is chill, professional, and easy to talk to. After both my most visits for service, he will definitely be my go-to person moving forward. Why My Most Recent Visit Stood Out On May 16th around 12:20 PM, I attempted to pay my vehicle registration at AAA in Alhambra and realized I needed a smog test first. I called Vic around 12:30 PM, fully expecting to schedule something later in the week since he closes at 1 PM. He asked where I was, and since I was about 2 miles away, we both agreed it would probably take 15-20 minutes to get there, leaving only around 10-15 minutes before closing. Despite that, he respectfully told me to come down because he could still get it done. When I arrived, both Vic and his colleague assisted me and another customer at the same time while still keeping everything organized and professional. He completed the smog test quickly and efficiently, and the pricing was fair. Honestly, he saved me from having to take another day to handle the smog test which would take time and gas, and that level of customer service really stood out. Shop & Waiting Area Compared to many smog stations, the overall property is shared with several neighboring shops. However, Vic's specific area had enough clearance and space for vehicles to park, wait, and get tested comfortably without worrying about maneuvering through tight spots or risking scratches on other vehicles. The lounge area itself is small, but it's indoors and cool, which is especially appreciated with summer approaching. I also liked that the pricing was clearly posted and broken down by vehicle year/type, making everything straightforward and transparent. Extra Touches One thing that genuinely surprised me was that he polishes customers' headlights after the service. Whether or not it completely restores them, it's still a thoughtful and unique extra touch that most places do not offer. Final Thoughts Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for honest, efficient, and professional smog check service. Vic and his team made both experiences stress-free, and great customer service like that is hard to find nowadays. read more

Inquired early morning at ~6:30am via Yelp messages to try and schedule a last minute smog check for my car. I heard back shortly afterwards from Vic confirming that I would be able to bring my car in two days later that Thursday morning. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Parking was easy and the process was completely hassle free. My brief conversation with Vic - though brief - felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Came on a Saturday morning for a walk-in smog check and was met with attentive staff. They completed the smog check under 20 minutes and included a complimentary headlight polish. While waiting, there's a small office with seats, but, most importantly, they have a cat named Maiden who I hung out with while he slept! Best place to get your smog check. 2nd to none. Quick and efficient. Great customer service. And they shined my headlights for free!

Friendly, efficient, and exceptional smog check station. I have an aftermarket cold air intake, and without a word he knew where/how to check the CARB EO number, unlike other smog check outfits [albeit well-rated] who would lecture me until I point out the label and explain. To add to this already 100 percent service/performance, he has an awesome, chill kitty (Maiden?) as cool as you please. As if all this isn't already enough, he beautifully restored my headlights at no charge. This is the most exciting smog check I've had and I'm be glad to return. read more
