Best place to start my review is the check-in process. I am 47-years old and can't remember ever checking into a hotel on my own before. Go ahead and laugh, but I just hadn't needed to. My teenage son and I were headed to tour Caltech and wanted to stay somewhere close to the campus, so we found this GORGEOUS hotel. We checked in quickly and easily and headed up to our room hoping to relax for a few and hit up the pool. Our room was INSANE. I have never seen a room this nice that wasn't priced over the top...lights in the mirrors, the coolest shower ever with lots of user-friendly settings, the room was sparking clean (I brought a black light for fun), and it was just the right size for us and we loved it. We felt like it was more of a 5-star hotel, honestly. Once we got to the room, we realized the AC wasn't blowing cold air, so I called the desk, and BAM! They sent a really sweet guy up and he had it fixed in literally minutes and with a smile, easily fixing the air to blow a cold 69° (heh), and he even showed me how to turn it up if we needed to. The pool was stunning and completely ours to swim around in. They provided towels and lots of comfy seating, plus they had cool music pumped out there with speakers, too. That night, I realized I needed a PDF printed of Covid results to take to Caltech with us and I nearly panicked since it was like 11p and I had no idea how to print them to take with us. We would have had no time in the morning to eat AND figure out where to go to print, so I again called the desk and apologized for being annoying (since I'd already called down earlier about the AC), but Terri at the front desk could not have been sweeter, reassured me I was absolutely not annoying her, and said she would be happy to print the email for me if I could send it to her. I emailed her immediately and she then texted me back within minutes that my copy was ready to pick up at the desk! She may very well have single-handedly saved the whole trip...without a printed page to give them, we couldn't have gone on the tour. She was so kind and accommodating and I was so grateful for how quickly she eased my mind and took care of the problem. She was amazing! The parking garage is secure, the lobby is beautiful, the people there are super nice, and we will absolutely stay there again next time we go to Caltech or pass through Pasadena! This really should be a 5-star hotel, I kid you not. read more
