I was in town visiting Caltech and wanted a hotel that had truck parking, a hot tub, a laundry room, and strong cleanliness standards. The Best Western Pasadena Inn met all my needs, exceeding expectations. First off, the area is clean and safe, allowing me to feel comfortable compared to some locations in LA. I also loved the rooms, which are large and clean with fridges and some of the fastest wireless internet I have seen for Zoom meetings. It allowed me to work without stress. Huge accolades for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was clean and actually hot, unlike some hotels where the water is lukewarm. I also appreciated the staff here because they are very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. If you enjoy having a wide selection of TV channels, this hotel definitely delivers. They do have a free breakfast, which is a nice added value, especially if you are heading out early for the day. This best western is great!! They are inspected regularly and it shows. I stayed here for a few days and they are so clean. I witnessed all the vacant rooms getting the carpet cleaned. Professional carpet cleaning. I was like, wow!!! This is what I love to see! Pride in establishment! Unfortunately I spilled a full cup of coffee and it stained rhe bed all the way thru and they weren't too happy about that. I get it, I pretty much ruined the bed mattress but it was an accident. And honestly, they should put a waterproof sheet or something over the mattress in case of accidentally guests spilling something. Either way, it's a great hotel. Great staff. Clean establishment. Free parking. They have free breakfast. Like eggs, sausage. Bacon. Potatoes. Fruit. Juice. Oatmeal. Waffles cereal. Rooms are large. Fridge Im room no microwave in room tho. Stayed here many times; outstanding motel, reasonable prices, quiet and secure area. Motel wasn't far from downtown Pasadena; adjacent to I-210. Front desk manager Lisa was really nice and helpful; great customer service and breakfast room was cool: food was fresh and great. Clean bedrooms, comfy beds, and large television. Pool and hot tub was clean and refreshing. Wifi access was good and parking was easy. We really ended up liking this place! I was initially worried because on the side street beside the hotel I noticed a side window busted out on a newer Mercedes SUV. A woman carrying her child was in shock when they walked up to her vehicle. Apparently it had just happened. She must've left something on the front seat worth stealing. The police was called. I decided to park right in front of the office as a precaution. The woman at check-in was very nice. I was able to check in early. She even recommended a restaurant for authentic Mexican food after I inquired about one. The rooms were very nice and clean. On top of that, it was very quiet which surprised me. I will definitely stay here again during my next trip to Northern California. This is our half way point as my wife's back can't take the extra long rides anymore. read more

But I can't complain everything was up to with a Best Western property. Based on my recent experiences staying in various motels and hotels in Arcadia and East Pasadena area, this Best Western inn provides the most balance of comfort, convenience, and cost. If it weren't for the inadequate bathtub drain in my room and unsatisfactory experience with lobby counter staff, I would've bumped this review up to 5 stars based on the value. ・Price The $100~120 post-Covid price range for a single person was reasonable, considering that even bare-minimum budget motels in this area costs $90~100 a night. Note that there's another BW Royale Inn right next door which has the higher $150~200 price point, so be sure not to get these two BWs mixed up when booking. ・Room Very clean room, furnitures in good shape. Comfortable soft king-size bed. Room lighting is not too dim. Closet comes with many hangers, ironing board, clothes iron No pests spotted during 5-day stay. Nightstand lamps have outlets and USB ports. Functional air conditioner, small fridge, and cable TV. Wifi was at least adequate for watching 1080p Youtube live streams. Towels were soft and very well-stocked. Two tissue boxes, one by nightstand and one at the sink. Two trash cans. Bathroom was adequate and supplied with soap, conditioner, and shampoo. I might've been unlucky because the bathtub's drain in my room didn't work very well and kept getting clogged by my long hair strands. The drain also doesn't close fully, so the tub itself had trouble holding in bathwater. ・Amenities Free parking with ample spaces in the lot, though the more convenient side gate on the small street is closed at night. No vagrants or loud noises aside from street traffic. The complementary continental breakfast has decent selection: scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereals, orange juice, coffee, orange, apple, banana, yogurt, small pancake maker, toasted waffles and bread, packaged danishes and muffins. No bacon or ham. 2% milk only; no soy milk if you're lactose-intolerant like me. The breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive. She was the most pleasant staff member I interacted with at this inn. There was a sizable swimming pool, which I didn't use. Laundry room's washer and dryer charged very reasonable fees comparable to laundromats, and of course detergent costs extra. No exercise room, which I didn't need. ・Service Don't expect the lobby staff to voluntarily ask or tell you anything. If you want any sort of AAA discount or even BW's own membership offers, you must ask about them yourself. For whatever reason, I wasn't allowed to reserve multiple days in advance at the lobby counter and was repeatedly told at the counter I had to book everyday in order to extent my stay. It wasn't until this inn had no vacancy left that I found out I could've booked multiple days if I had done so through BW's website. Needless to say, I was quite irked that none of the lobby receptionists bothered to inform me of this even though I had already expressed my desire to stay longer. ・Location Good location near the 210 freeway, convenient for driving to Universal Studio or Rose Bowl. Somewhat close to the nearest Metro rail station that connects to Downtown LA. Several restaurant options within 15~30 mins walking distance. The parking spots are very small, my car parked the night before and the next morning someone parked next to me made me not able to get in from the driver side. When we pulled up to this spot, there were a bunch dudes on the second floor hanging out outside and drinking beers on the rail. Not a good sign. I figured out that they were probably getting their pre-game on for the USC/UCLA game but I thought it was in poor taste to do this. I let the staff know that I wanted to pick a room the opposite side of those dudes and they said fine. The fact that they acknowledged that was going on and didn't do anything about it was disappointing. When I left for a concert a while later, they were still there drinking and of course getting a bit rowdy. The room was really dark and it just wasn't that comfortable. Came in here and tried to get a stay for my family that is here from Oxnard to see a game at the rosebowl and fireworks for 4th of July but was greeted with a woman named Allison or something like that, has glasses. Very rude, seemed annoyed to help me. I called her prior to visiting and she said there were rooms available online or inside, now I'm sure there was no availability online she said there were a few rooms left on site so I decided to go in. When I went in she seemed annoyed to help me and my family and told us check in was at 3 to come back at that time. It was 1:30. I searched out hotels in both areas and either they were raunchy or to overly priced especially for the ratings that I checked on. The rooms are set back away from the street, so it was a quiet restful night. They honored our request for a downstairs room. The check in and out staff were very friendly and cheerful. The parking was easy and conveniently in front of our room. Very very clean rooms! Bed was comfortable, but pillows need to be better. Hands down, 5stars. Let's start at the beginning- excellent customer service from the moment we arrived until departing. Although we didn't interact with many, every single interaction was with friendly staff members. The room was clean, fresh, everything worked, and we even got free slippers!!!!!!!! The area was quiet, safe, and the parking lot was well lit. The complimentary breakfast included: eggs, sausage, blueberry pancakes, make-your-own waffles, apples and bananas, cereal and pastries, as well as several beverage options like coffee at the press of a button(I was skeptical too, friends, but it was pretty good coffee!) This pleasant little hotel sits on world famous Colorado Blvd in the beautiful city of Pasadena, CA. Not to be confused with the section of Colorado Blvd that we see every New Years Day on TV, but Colorado Blvd nonetheless. I'm in town for one night because I'm running in the Pasadena Half Marathon in the morning and I despise the early morning commute to a race on race day. I found a sweet deal on Booking.com because I don't feel I need to spend a lot of money on a 1 night pre-race hotel when I'm getting up at 4:00am and checking out by 5:00. This is not a high-end hotel. It is, however, far from being a dump. For $99 I really cannot ask for anything more. It was easy to find, quiet, and appears to be either newly renovated or a fairly new. The room was clean and adequately appointed with a comfy king sized bed, DIRECTV, a small fridge, single serve coffee maker, full size ironing board and iron. No microwave though. The young lady working was nice and check-in was quick, easy AND early. Plenty of parking with security cameras for added comfort, a pool and hot tub, and free breakfast in the morning, too. The Best Western Pasadena Inn suited my needs perfectly. I enjoyed my less than 24 hours stay and would consider staying here again for next years race. 5/100 read more

This hotel doesn't allow a refund on canceling you're stay. We had a rental car from Payless car rental that broke down 8 miles from the hotel. I spent 6 hours sitting in some random neighborhood waiting for a tow truck and an Uber to show up. By the time the truck finally showed up I had only enough time to get to the airport which was the only place the car rental would issue a new car, before they closed after I received my replacement car I was to far from the hotel and exhausted to even do so that I then had to book another hotel er to where I was. This was the worst day ever and in top of that this hotel refused to offer a refund. It was icing on the cake from an already horrible day. My wife and I stayed Saturday night and it was quiet. The neighborhood seemed okay to us. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and clean, the chairs had no cushion to them (be careful when you sit, you'll hit your bottom hard), there was an iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The carpet is dark colored and I suspect a little on the dirty side. Walking barefoot around for a little bit and my feet were starting to get dirty. Also the little coffee maker had some grunge in the water tank. I cleaned it out with a damp towel but maybe they should periodically clean it out. The information we got online about the breakfast said it was continental but it was better than that. They had a simple egg omelette with cheese inside, fresh cooked bacon, home potatoes and a machine that automatically made pancakes plus juices out of a machine was provided along with cereals, fruit, toast, prepackaged pastries and coffee. The breakfast staff kept fresh items full versus having empty trays and she was attentive in keeping your table clean of empty plates and such. We would stay there again. read more

In a questionable neighborhood but the hotel was clean and had a decent breakfast. But if you stay here on a Friday or Saturday night bring ear plugs. Let's be honest, that is rare for shared amenities. I usually don't like or trust walking around without shoes in hotels but BW Pasadena Inn has fresh, new carpet. Honestly, I do not know if it is just because BW hires who ever, but the men who worked at night (forgot his name) was rather rude. He was bothered by the fact that I wanted to use my free night stays. I worked at BW at the time so I know the process of getting the voucher number into the computer is long an strenuous but do not take it out on someone since it is in the job description. I gave it three stars because one of the girls in the front was rather dismissive the following day. Again it part of your job to print out a receipt if a customer/ guest asks for one. Was unable to enjoy the breakfast they serve because I like to sleep in. My boyfriend and I have stayed several times, we recalled the beds being a little softer, but the last time we had visited it was not as soft as we remembered but we also said that it could be because we are so use to the memory foam bed that we purchased. Regardless I give it 3 stars service they just need to work on there hospitality. Rooms aren't bad and the location was convenient for us. I would not recommend this Hotel at all. It was a big disappointment. The staff is uncaring and rude. The key card to my room never worked which was very inconvenient. The staff were not at all helpful when the internet in my room did not work. I was in excruciating pain, almost unable to walk, with sciatica in my leg. I was in the handicapped room on the ground level, yet they would not come to my room to assist with the Wifi. They simply said "The Wifi works in other rooms, something must be wrong with your phone". Nothing was wrong with my phone and I moved to the Holiday Inn Express a few doors down the street at 3500 Colorado and my phone and the Wifi worked perfectly! (By the way, I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express. It is clean, beautiful, comfortable and has a wonderful breakfast and staff). I left the miserable Best Western Pasadena Inn after only 2 hours of unpleasant time there, yet they offered no apology or refund. Their prices are ridiculously high for the mediocre quality of their rooms and general condition of the hotel itself. Avoid this hotel and unprofessional staff. read more

I recently had the pleasure to stay at the Best Western Pasadena Inn for a short business trip. Checking in was a breeze and the front desk was very professional and polite. It was a 3 digit temperature outside when I checked in but when I walked in my room...voila! the AC was blasting!! I was very impressed with the room's cleanliness and nice decor. As soon as I shut the front door, it was total silence... I didn't hear any noise coming from outside. Price is very good with my AAA discount. Sometimes you're forced to go to a Best Western. I have never had a good time at a Best Western. From my times of staying at random hotels near Disneyland (one of which was a Best Western) to a random family trip where my family somehow saw the Best Western sign and went ... yes that's us! ... The hotel is average at best, the rooms are knotty. As in, they give you stomach knots to think about what might have been on the floor, beds, ceilings and walls. The bathrooms are sandals only, strictly enforced and it's not really a place you walk around at night to stroll about for any reason even if it is to get ice. Sometimes they have hot breakfast like waffles and definitely love their coffee here. They have a computer that you can use and even print. The rooms are clean and feels new. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is upgraded for the most part. The room was a nice size and very clean. The location is great. The AC worked great and made the room very comfortable. However, the towels were not that great. The pillows should be changed as they were lumpy and not very comfortable. For the price of less than a hundred per night in Pasadena it was a good stay. The remote control was sanitized and clean. 37 inch TV and fridge in the room. Coffee maker, hair dryer and free bottled water provided as well. I only stayed here at night and was gone all day and evening so didn't use any other amenity except to sleep here. They stated continental breakfast but I didn't see anything set up in the lobby so not sure if they did away with it or not. Would recommend this hotel for a short stay on a budget. read more

My husband and I stayed here the weekend of Jan 11-13 and were satisfied with our stay. The minute we walked in we were greeted with a nice smile from the young lady at the counter [forgot her name, sorry] The gentleman that was there also gave us some ideas for great dinner spots which we appreciated. Finally, Best Western redeemed itself on our current road trip after 2 awful stays in their hotels in Arizona. We were given 2 rooms side-by-side on the 2nd floor away from the stairs. The rooms seem to have been redecorated recently. The wall paper and carpets seem new. The bathroom area was clean and well stocked. It even included mouth wash which I haven't seen in any of the hotels. Our queen beds were very comfortable albeit with the tiny pillows again. Their TV was very impressive - they had a lot of HD channel choices. The hotel seemed more than half empty so it was very quiet. The breakfast the following day was just down the stairs, below our room. We got there late at 9am and it closes at 9:30 yet the attendant kept on bringing out pre-cooked eggs and sausages for us and replenished the juices. The only negatives would be there's no elevator and the quality of the breakfast was not that good. Overall, a very good motel that's close to the highway. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the room quality - very clean and up to speed (it appeared some of the rooms had recently been renovated). Not really walking distance to Old Town; a car would be helpful. Breakfast in morning was more than we expected: hard boiled egg, cold cereals, assorted shrink-wrapped pastries, juices, and most importantly - a waffle maker! Only two caveats 1. The room walls are thin (at least for the 2nd floor rooms). We would hear each time our neighbors used the restroom (thankfully, not too often!). 2. the free wi-fi for some will require additional configuration for most laptops to recognize the hotel signal - this was confirmed by the front desk. From the outside it might look outdated but the inside of rooms were pretty darn clean had good amenities and nice looking and the staff (a sweet girl front desk (sorry didn't ask her name) went above and beyond on News Years day to make our checking in smooth and added needs met (forgot our toothpaste and brushes). She ran quickly to our room in seconds to bring up 2 floors, Thank you!
