We chose this property because of its proximity to the Pasadena Convention Center. Our king-bed room was furnished well and had plenty of usb ports as well as standard outlets to connect with. The alarm clock also had plug attachments available, although our devices didn't have any use for them. Only complaint relating to the room was the bathroom- the shower door in particular has a gap underneath which allowed water to splash onto the bathroom floor. We didn't use their gym nor pool however we did enjoy their restaurant at The Corner Craft.. The food at this property was surprisingly well made. The bartender with the fancy bottle opener was a far better server than the older server that was observed watching the soccer game on tv more than helping any of the occupied tables. The highlight of this Hilton is definitely the lobby and general location within the city, as well as the staff. The actual rooms themselves are quiet outdated and filled with some quirks such as a sliding barn door bathroom and sparse lighting in the bedroom itself. There were a couple other issues with the room itself that made the say less than desirable, and certainly not worth the weekend nightly rate. For one, the thermostat/cooling unit in the room was nonfunctional. I lucked out by being in Pasadena in an unseasonably cool stretch, but disappointed that even basic A/C didn't come with my room. Would be a real problem for most of the summer in LA. Secondly, despite being advertised as "Mountainview", you mainly get a view of the neighboring buildings. Definitely not worth paying extra for. What's worse is that directly below the mountainview/east side of the building sits the entire A/C equipment for the hotel, which is incredibly loud. If you leave the glass sliding door to the patio open, the noise is still significant even with 30 db earplugs on. Even with the door closed, the din of the rooftop equipment is loud enough to sound like an A/C unit running in the room. Which was little comedic given the A/C or even just fan alone in the room itself is nonfunctional! Again, a sign of how dated the rooms are that the soundproofing is so terrible. This is clearly a hotel that prioritizes its lobby and conference room facilities over the guestrooms themselves. Finally, for a hotel that looks relatively luxurious, you won't even find a hot tub. For that and all the reasons above, you're better off splurging a bit more for better, or sticking with a Marriott Courtyard or even motel/inn. All of which will have more updated rooms without the quirks. read more

Bathrooms are clean; however water pressure is a little weak when using the shower. They have a proudly serve Starbucks in the lobby which is nice for those who need their Starbucks fix. I chose this place for the price and the location. It definitely is an older hotel, chips and wear and tear... but their service makes up for the modern aspects that it lacks. The bell person was so kind--between three guests, we had bags on bags on bags, but the bell person told us to leave it all and hand them over. Exuding kindness, especially compared to other hotels. The shower curtain wasn't as clean as I had hoped (visible gunk), but when I went to the front desk to ask for a new one, John Pablo was so kind about it, apologized, and sent a housekeeper immediately. I did park my car inside because I wasn't planning to go anywhere. I stayed here because we were going to AGT auditions down the street. The hotel is really nice inside and outside. The room was huge, I really liked this place. The only thing I have an issue with is the pricing on the food and drinks, $23 for a hotel cocktail is insanely expensive. We did sit at the bar and ordered a pizza which was really good but also like $20 I think, we got beer because the guy said they wanted to get rid of them so they were $8 each. I did think about ordering a cocktail until we saw the pricing and also didn't because this group that came from a wedding were being loud and singing and banging on the counter. I liked the bed, I wish it had more pillows and definitely need to be fluffy. Also the water pressure sucked, and I didn't understand the shower, the way the handle inside was setup was weird and in the way. This review is solely based on The Corner, the restaurant here. Came with a rather large party (11 of us), and the staff were able to accommodate us with no problem. Our server was helpful and attentive, and didn't even break a sweat while helping our large party. The menu prices are a little expensive considering what you're ordering, but you're paying more for the convenience. I tried a little bit of the steak tostada salad that someone else ordered, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and juicy the steak was. If we ever come back here, the steak tostada is what I'm ordering. One added perk is if you're a guest using the pool, they can bring your food out to the pool area. This Hilton Pasadena is a great place to stay if you are attending a conference here. Very convenient to attend and rest. Another great feature is the hotel is centrally located near downtown Pasadena, City Hall and close to a lot of freeways. This is an older hotel so I did experience some issues with the bath tub/shower in room 305. I was attending the conference and was busy all day and evening so I didn't have time to notify the front desk of this issue. I did however, eat at their restaurant downstairs, The Corner Craft Kitchen + Bar. While I was eating the manager came over to ask how my meal was and how my stay has been so far and I expressed to him about the issue with the shower. He immediately called the maintenance team and had them fix my issue while I was eating. I had two meals at their restaurant and both meals were delicious and the staff provided great customer service. One thing I did not appreciate was the parking situation. The hotel has a separate company managing the parking. So you can not charge the parking to your portfolio. You have to pay separately. There's also not a lot of information about parking rates as well. So when I first got there, I didn't elect the all day parking which is $25 and so it kept charging me every time I kept going in and out until I finally figured it out. A $45 mistake. Therefore, I recommend just getting the all day self parking for $25. If I were to come back here again, I would probably choose valet parking which is $30 and save yourself some walking. The parking garage is a little far and through the convention center side of the hotel so it is a bit of a walk. But all in all I did enjoy myself at this hotel because the staff was so friendly but it is an older hotel with not so great parking options. read more

Nice Hilton in the downtown Pasadena area. Perfect location if you're attending a show at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. (in our case AGT). It's literally just a few blocks away. There's a coffee shop/restaurant right around the corner from the hotel that's really convenient as well. Front desk staff were very friendly. They were kind to let me check in a bit early, which was especially nice since I had flown across the country and couldn't get a later arrival. Always love that you have to use your room key to activate the elevator for security purposes. My room with a king bed was very comfortable, clean and had a nice view. Pool fans, take note that their outdoor pool is relatively small, and has two dragonflies that apparently live there along with a few wasps. The dragonflies, although totally harmless, literally just circle over and over, sometimes together, sometimes apart. Kids were slightly annoyed by them but the wasps really did them in from wanting to swim anymore. I only had one meal in the hotel restaurant and it was very good. Will review separately. read more

I was at a seminar on Saturday November 17th and F&B PASADENA CA provided absolutely THE WORST service at the restaurant and the food I ended up throwing away $30 for the worst Hamburger I have ever had for the past few months! They could not handle 45-50 food boxes coming from the kitchen to distribute and there were 4 people involved it took them just 20 minutes to find my food box!!! Management needs to retaring this disqualified employees. This is not the fault of those 4 staff, it's fundamentally the restaurant Managment's direct fault not having the system set up. Everyone can handle food for 2-3 up to 6 people but when you have an event for over 50 people who have only 40 minutes to do everything when attempting a class! COME ON BE ORGANIZED!!! We drove up from San Diego and booked one night here at the last minute to celebrate our anniversary. Roman and Claudine at the front were fantastic. They are truly an asset to your team. They were friendly, welcoming, accommodating and went above and beyond for us. In my 45 years of life (and staying in hotels all over the world) I don't think I have ever been treated as kindly and enthusiastically as I was that night. The room was clean and comfortable. I was initially assigned a room on the 2nd floor and texted the front desk through the app to see if it was possible to have my room moved up. Not only did they move me up to the 11th floor, but I was also given the El Dorado Suite, a beautiful executive suite! Terrie at the Front Desk was super - a special shout out! The Hilton Pasadena has some positives, but also some room for improvement. Positive: Location Great location that is in walking distance to the civic and convention centers, food, and outdoor mall. Lots of parking garages nearby, including a $12 all day one on Green St. (not sure if you can park there overnight, but worth checking out), because parking overnight at the hotel is $27 per night (even as a Hilton rewards member). Needs improvement: The customer service Other than valet and housekeeping, everyone seemed to be moving in slow motion. From check in to dining, it felt like things were a bit more slow moving than I'm used to, despite it not seeming particularly busy. I went to the Corner Restaurant the first night. I'd say there were about 3 parties of 5 people or less dining (not a busy night). We didn't know whether to seat ourselves or what the protocol was because no one came to greet us. Eventually we got our table and the service was so slow it almost felt comical. Our server was not very attentive and when he'd come by, he didn't ask if we needed anything else. It was kind of a strange experience. They have a little coffee shop to get drinks and baked goods and I noticed the person working there was also moving in slow motion. He was working by himself and I'm sure it can get busy in the morning, so I felt like giving him a break. But, anytime he bent over to grab an ingredient, I could see his underwear that was full of holes. The Starbucks drinks were made well, but they could use an upgrade on their baked goods selection. I just felt like there was a level of professionalism that needs improvement. It was pretty surprising for a Hilton (such a big name brand). The Room I would say there are both negatives and positives with the room. It felt safe and was comfortable, but there are areas that need updating. I think it would help to have water bottles in the room, versus having to ask the front desk (you do get 2 free water bottles per day). Also, it would be nice to have menus already in the rooms without having to ask as well. It would probably be easier and more cleanly to have liners in the trashcans. The last thing that would be nice to see are some towel racks in the bathroom - there was only 1 hook to hang your towel. Also, most of the rooms are facing the street, so hearing the cars and sirens could be a little loud at times. I did love all the mirrors in the room - including a lit vanity mirror as well as a smaller magnifying mirror too. I enjoyed that the tv had the option for chrome cast to watch tv with your own streaming services. Ultimately, this location was great for walking into the town, felt relatively safe and was comfortable. The customer service and rooms could use a little improvement. I like this Hilton and it's in a nice neighborhood in Pasadena. Parking is easy. The lobby is on the smaller side and they have a restaurant with a bar. The room has the standard 2 beds with a pretty big TV that's easy to see. You don't need a key for the elevator which is nice. They have a gym too so you can work on your fitness! My family and I did a weekend trip to Universal Studio's. We wanted to stay somewhere that was close to the park and within our price range. The Hilton was the closet hotel that we could find that meet all of our requirements. The drive back and forth to Universal was perfect. About 20 minutes from driveway to driveway. We are Hilton Honor Reward members, so staying at a Hilton hotel was not new and we have our own expectations coming into this location. Overall I would say that all of our expectations were met. I checked in for our stay through the Hilton App. As promised, I received a text message notifying us that our room was ready. We arrived after a long day at the park. The valet team was very friendly and were quick to get bell service for our bags. The bell man walked us up to our room. I'll add that we could have all fit in the elevator to go up, but he insisted that we ride up alone and he would take the next car. I thought this was very thoughtful. Our room was a 2 queen bed deluxe room. We had a beautiful balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. The room was very clean, as well as the bathrooms. There were some signs of wear and tear throughout the room. Nothing to bad where I felt it needed to be addressed. Examples: - paint chips on the bottom of the bathroom door - loose soap dish in the shower As I mentioned our room has a 2 queen room that slept up to 4. There were only 2 towels in the bathroom. I would have thought it would have at least 4. Housekeeping did not give us any problems getting more towels. In fact, our bell man noticed it when he was bringing in our bags and offered to get us more. On our second day, the kids did go down to the hotel pool. This was the only area of the hotel that I felt was neglected. The pool furniture had stains and just looked run down. But the pool was clean and the kids had fun. For the price that we paid, this hotel was worth every penny and meet our expectations. The price we paid for 2 nights was equal to what hotels wanted for 1 night, that were closer to Universal Studios. Pasadena was such a lovely city. We were sad our trip was so short. We will definitely be back again and would love to stay at this Hilton location. read more

Parking is $20 valet by the day with in and out privileges or you can park in the garage next door but be aware the garage next door is $24 all day with no in n out privileges. Stick to the valet Rooms are nice. I got an eye for old things so the first thing I noticed a vintage room with a remodeled bathroom. Bed is super soft parallel with the towels finding equilibrium with the toilet paper. Out of 5 I would give the room a solid 4.8/5 I got a tip for my fellow yelpers to save 20% all day everyday Park in the public street overnight safely. I personally tested and tried it and it works SAFELY for me. I can not express how grateful I am to the entire staff of the Pasadena Hilton who have been hosting us thru a very difficult time on Los Angeles. I wish i had taken down names, but every single employee was so gracious and welcoming. I want to thank also the valet crew who helped me when my battery died to bring in AAA to replace it. The housekeeping staff was very cheerful and un intrusive. The manager checks in with you via text message. I saw many people whose insurance company had placed them here, and they were equally impressed by how the Hilton hosted them, and looked out for their comfort. For my wedding week, this was the only hotel that offered a non-contractual wedding block. The rooms were spacious and it was in the middle of downtown which is great for walking places. The restaurant was a little slow (but there is also hospitality strike going on). When we checked in they didn't promote anything about the hotel like the gym, restaurant, wifi or pool which was odd to me and every time you call the valet or pick your car up they ask if you are checking out which got annoying after the 3rd time. read more

4 Star Hotel with 2.5 star comfort. Oof. Thank goodness I got a last-minute deal on Priceline because there's no way I'd be happy paying full price for one of these rooms. Room: No bigger or smaller than any other hotel room anywhere else in the world. The laminate over particle board furniture gave Holiday Inn Express vibes. Beds were barely to a comfortable standard, and the pillows were next to useless to sleep on. I ended up sinking into them so deep that I began snoring according to my fiancée. Bathroom: You're kidding me right? A 4 star Hotel room and it has a tub\shower combo. I've been to Motel 6es with walk in showers. Noise: I hear everything. Footsteps above, beside and below me. No soundproofing has been done. Overall: Its a place to sleep. No 4 star luxury to be found here unless you consider a full valet lot and a restaurant to be worthy of elevating this place to 4 star service. The entire place is in bad need of a face-lift.
