The Westin Pasadena is an odd place: it's the only hotel I've ever been to that has no luggage carts. And parking is 2 blocks away. You'll immediately get swarmed by valets who aren't bellmen. They're valets and if you're not parking your car, they're on to the next fare. After you beg, borrow, or steal a luggage cart, it's off to the parking garage with super low clearance and tiny spots. (SUV drivers beware!) My bed was comfy but my husband's was not. It seemed to make a lot of noise any time he moved. The shower pressure was so-so and the toilet was ridiculously loud when flushed. I don't recommend going downstairs for coffee either. You'll end up standing around for 10 minutes until some harried waitress comes up to sell you a $6 cup of coffee. The only reason people book this hotel is because the view of City Hall is pretty impressive. It's also centrally located & super walkable but we won't be coming back. They tried to lie and said we only had one night booked, then made us pull up documentation, and then said there is nothing they could do about it and shipped us off to another hotel miles away. They could even give us two nights, we now need to come back tomorrow and see if we have a room for one night?!? Damian and his moron of a manager were the ones on shift on Friday, February 20. I had a great stay at The Westin Pasadena and would absolutely stay here again. The location alone is a win it's walking distance to the Pasadena Convention Center, which was perfect since I was in town attending IMATS. Being able to get in and out of the convention without dealing with traffic or long commutes made the entire trip so much smoother. The hotel itself is clean, calm, and well maintained. My room was spacious (which I really appreciated), thoughtfully laid out, and very clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and everything felt fresh and quiet, exactly what you want after a long day out. I also loved having Ventanas right inside the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent, and it was nice to unwind without having to leave the property. Great service, relaxed atmosphere, and solid menu options. I would say the food was more Hispanic themed. Staff were professional and welcoming, check-in was easy, and overall the hotel felt safe, polished, and comfortable. If you're coming to Pasadena for a conference, event, or even a weekend stay, this is a really solid choice. I Highly recommend. read more

I would not recommend at all, usually live westins but this location service is terrible. The front desk guy Roman was rude while I do think trying to be funny, none of his jokes landed and came off as rude not only to me but my entire team. We're traveling for work and I don't want to be mocked or insulted by the front desk clerk, he def needs some coaching on what is appropriate. When I was told that we were upgraded to a junior suite, I was excited. However, the stay turned out to be very disappointing. The room size was acceptable, but the main issue was that there was only a tiny window in the room, which is not common. There was also a Peloton bike in the room, but unfortunately, it did not work at all, so we couldn't even try it. The biggest problem was the air conditioner. It was extremely loud and could not be turned off using the control panel. The air vent was directed straight toward the bed, blowing directly against my head and face throughout the night. As a result, I barely got any sleep. Overall, it was such a terrible experience that we would not come back in the future. read more

I booked this hotel on a total whim during a brutal midweek heatwave, just needing a comfortable place to work, unwind, and get a solid night's sleep--and it turned into an exceptional experience, largely because of the incredible people here. From the moment I walked in, Reggie and My made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. This wasn't just polite customer service--it was thoughtful, attentive, above-and-beyond hospitality that you don't come across often. They checked in (without being intrusive), made sure I had everything I needed to stay productive and comfortable, and created an atmosphere that felt both professional and personal. It truly felt like they were invested in making my stay great, not just doing their jobs. Even the maintenance crew deserves recognition--their friendliness and responsiveness didn't go unnoticed. Every interaction, no matter how small, reflected a team that takes pride in what they do and in how they treat their guests. There was construction happening due to renovations, but I experienced zero disruptions, which honestly speaks volumes about how well everything is managed behind the scenes. Bathrooms could use some updating but overall were decent. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room. It has a fridge and coffee pot but no way to reheat anything. Parking is very pricey. $28 per day for valet, self park is cheaper but no in and out privileges. On site restaurant has good food but way over priced. I got a really great deal here by using the hoteltonight app. Without the deal I could see why this place has mixed reviews. The place itself is old, but like classy old if that makes sense. There were stains on the carpet in our room and there was wear and tear in the most used places, but I typically don't downgrade a place unless the stains are where I rest my head. I'm not particularly snobby, my family and I do not typically stay at these higher end hotels. We're more of an "Inn" family. The customer service here was amazing. Loved how friendly and accommodating they all were. We needed another blanket and towel. Brought in minutes. We needed a trolley for our luggage at check out, but couldn't find one. One was brought to our room within minutes. The minus points come from the A/C, which seemed to struggle to keep the room cool, and the lack of ventilation. When a person takes a shower it gets muggy in the room. Since the AC struggles to keep up with temp, it doesn't remove humidity very quickly either. Thankfully you can actually crack a window to help, but when it's 95 out that can make other problems worse. I also feel like they "force" valet on you. It's $28 for valet with in and out privileges or $19/day to park yourself with no in and out privileges. This means that if you want to come and go throughout the day you would have to pay $19 each time. So if you got back from a long day, showered, and wanted to go out for a bite, that's another $19. That being said, the valet service was excellent. I didn't know this initially, since I'm not fancy, but you can call down before you leave your room and your car will be waiting for you. It was nice, and I did feel spoiled. Overall it was a wonderful stay though, just wish those two things could be fixed. The location for our purpose was excellent, so we might be back if we can get that great deal again, otherwise we probably can't afford it. read more

The lobby has a lingering trace of old cigarette smoke, veiled by an overpowering white tea fragrance. While some areas like the renovated bathrooms suggest efforts to refresh the property, the improvements feel isolated. Subtle signs of wear are present throughout: stained pull-down shades, peeling paint on the window sill. At one point, an inexplicable metal piece even fell off my door. I couldn't determine where it belonged, which speaks to the lack of attention to detail. Also the omelet I had for breakfast at the cafe was way overcooked at typically expensive hotel prices. What do you do if you're gone all day from your room from 8 AM to 5:39 PM and you come back and the room is not made and everything is the way you left it but nothing is cleaned or replenished? Should I be happy? Now I have to make my own bed... I thought I came to this hotel so they could take care of me?!? And when I called downstairs to ask them, why, they called me to tell me the housekeeper marked it as cleaned and then asked me, "are you sure they didn't clean the room?" Yes yes, I'm sure! Now I'm gonna post a picture so they could see how I found my room at 5:39 PM after an entire day away. Update - the housekeeping manager did call me back to apologize and they did credit some points for the inconvenience. I am glad they followed up and owned up to their oversight or mistake. Stayed here recently for a work trip, one night. The customer service was great. I found everyone to be exceptionally polite and helpful. The size of the single king room was decent, plenty of space for one. Size of the bathroom was acceptable, like a small studio bathroom. The bed was as comfy as any king size bed could be, I slept wonderfully. The overall room, however, and I guess the hotel overall, I would say was fairly aged. The bathtub could have used some work. The flooring and walls could have used some touch ups (at least in the room). The walls were pretty thin. You could hear the neighboring rooms flush toilets and whatnot. The most unfortunate thing, and maybe the only real disappointment, was finding a long hair stuck to one of the towels in my room that I feel like could have been caught before it was ever placed in there. My husband and I went to Pasadena for the Cruel World Festival, and we were happy to be able to book the Westin at a block rate after our Airbnb cancelled on us. Check-in as easy and staff members were friendly. Our room was simple. It was a basic king room with no extra seating area. It was nice to have a fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. The room was clean and modern-looking. I wish there had been a sink outside of the restroom to do makeup. The safe in our room was broken, as was the ice machine on our floor. Luckily I ran into a friendly staff member who let me know that I needed to go down to the fifth floor for ice. Otherwise, I would have been wandering from floor to floor. We ordered room service for breakfast in the morning. I have very low expectations of room service, but wanted a breakfast before heading to a music festival. Unfortunately the eggs were rubbery and the toast was tough so I threw them away. I did really appreciate the Cruel World lighting projected in the lobby. There is a self-parking lot at the hotel that charges $19/night. Supposedly hotel guests park for $17/night with validation, but we were only given the discount for one of the nights. The room needs some maintenance. The shower control was missing finishing pieces and the shower head itself was clogged in spaces. Be aware before booking your stay here! I had contact customer service about leaving attire behind in the closet, just because of the way the closet is set up! It's almost easy to leave something behind. (Also my mistake for not double checking). Nonetheless, I contacted them. They had me fill out some form for the lost and found. Had a nice stay in Pasadena. Good location, lots to do in the area. Old Town Pasadena was a short walk away. The room was nice but the bed was worn out and sank in the middle. This was in room 1205, so hopefully the Westin is keeping up with their Yelp reviews and will check out the bed and replace it. They printed out a barcode for in and out parking. It is not through the keycard, which I guess works out because it was able to be used after leaving the keycard in the room after departure. read more

We didn't discover it until we were literally climbing into bed for the night and since we were only staying one night we chose to leave them right where they were and notify the staff when we checked out in the morning. GROSS. I couldn't even look over in that area after that. There was also dirt or ash or something on the inside of the windowsill. And the room showed lots of signs of wear and tear. The closet door wasn't hanging properly anymore, the bathroom vanity was warped and peeling on the side by the shower, the side of the tub was streaked and dirty, there were long black hairs stuck inside the toilet that moved every time we flushed but never went down the drain. Water pressure in the shower is very low and makes for a long shower trying to get shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. We chose the Westin for our anniversary night get away and while it wasn't a COMPLETE waste of money, we will not be back. Stayed here for my wedding weekend Nov 2025. I booked it only because the location was great... 5 min Walking distance to city hall and restaurants. Garage Parking is very tight and limited. Probably best to just valet during your stay. We checked in around 8:30pm. Lobby looked clean and the few people working that night were nice. Got to our room and the moment we walked in it was extremely dark. There was no main light for the room. Very small rooms with minimal lighting. One of the lights on the bed frame was broken with exposed wire. By the time we made couple trips back and forth to the car to bring all of our belongs in it was 10pm. Extremely exhausted and had to steam and hang my wedding gown. I needed to place my gown someplace higher since the closet was pretty small...but instead I was cleaning the thick layer of dust by the bed and window! Even in the dark you could see a thick layer of dust the moment you walk into the room!!! Definitely hasn't been cleaned for years! The king size bed is too soft and lumpy. The bathroom was okay. Thin doors because you could hear everyone walking by and talking. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

I live around 30 minutes away but had to opportunity to stay here for a few nights so if this place wasn't good I could have easily bailed out and gone home, but I didn't and it was an absolute pleasure to spend some time here. Aubrina helped me out at the front desk with a little hiccup with the reservation and got me into a great room. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was nice. We didn't eat but we had some drinks there and the bartenders were good. The hotel is off the main street but close enough to walk to plenty of places nearby. I may not have the need to stay again but would recommend this hotel if someone asked. read more

From the moment I arrived it was horrible customer service, unfriendly and unable to provide any real customer service or kindness or respect for guests. We experienced a hotel was over booked, understaffed, and the staff that was present was incredibly rude with limited customer service training, clearly. Also, Cleanliness of the hotel is questionable once I was finally provided a room after 1pm, I had to come right back down with all my things because the we had to change rooms because of an extremely heavy chlorine smell throughout 6th floor. Further, there are Only 3 elevators in the hotel so Sunday morning was the worst, as it took 20 minutes to leave the hotel from the 3rd floor due to over crowded elevators at 9am Sunday morning. Other times were better but more than 2 other times we were waiting 4-8 minutes for an elevator. Major safety concern if you asked me. We truly couldn't wait to check out. And that isn't even starting on the parking confusion and the lack of ability to easily communicate how complicated it is. Never been more disappointed by a Marriott property. Ryan, the manager on staff, said he would follow up with me after my stay but of course never been. Spoke with many other disappointed and frustrated guests staying there too. Highly recommend finding another place to stay. I asked to speak to Dan Stenz, the property manager but wasn't able. As mentioned, management was supposed to reach out per their statements. The hotel is within walking distance to Pasadena courthouse and Old town. The lobby is very beautiful with high ceiling and chandeliers. They have a nice courtyard with outdoor restaurant and seating. The pool is on 4th floor, small but heated with courthouse view. Our room is on 4th floor with the view of courthouse. Most rooms do not have balcony (knocked off 1/2 star). The standard room is relatively small, with king bed, large flat screen TV, small daybed by window, coffee maker, fridge, 2 compliment water bottles. Bathroom is pretty modern but also small. They have valet parking but since there is plenty self park for $15 flat rate, we did self park. Overall, it's a decent place to stay near Pasadena Oldtown and Rose bowl. read more

If possible, avoid staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, I found the toilet clogged. When I called the front desk, the staff rudely responded with a gasp, telling me that their engineer had already left for the day. When I asked what I should do, considering it was late and I had just arrived, they offered no solution. Instead, they suggested checking if security could bring me a plunger to fix it myself, as it wasn't their job to do so. The issues didn't stop there. During my shower, the water didn't drain properly, and I ended up standing in dirty water. Later, as I was trying to sleep, I was disturbed by loud noises coming from inside the walls, which I suspect were caused by rodents. This was extremely unsettling and disrupted my sleep. To make matters worse, the pillows were old, flat, and uncomfortable, leaving me with a stiff neck in the morning. When I checked out, I overheard one of the staff members loudly arguing with a customer over the phone. After hanging up, the two women at the front desk laughed about the customer's issue--very unprofessional behavior for a hotel staff. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. The lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, and unprofessional staff made my stay unpleasant from start to finish. read more

I secured a block of 20 rooms for the bride & groom of our now favorite married couple in our direct family. The price per room was quite reasonable and in fact, I checked the prices for rooms a week before the wedding and if you were to book on your own, it would have been more than double the cost. Also of note is that unlike the Sheraton, you do not have to guarantee you'll book all the rooms in your block. Rather, once you hit your expiration date, you simply lose whatever remaining rooms in your block and they go back into the hotel's pool of rooms. The hotel itself is nice and in the best location. It's walking distance to downtown and a very short Lyft or not so short walk (maybe 20 mins) to Castle Green. The rooms are a bit dated, but the property is very clean...for the price we paid, I really couldn't complain. Being Titanium Elite also has its privileges. We received 2 breakfast vouchers per day which equated to whatever breakfast entree' we wanted plus a drink. Can't really get better than that. It seems the hotel is sort of understaffed. When we checked in there was just one person that could help with bags and the valet area was a mess. However, everyone is really nice and trying their best. You can tell they care. When our room wasn't ready and it was past the 4 pm check-in time, the woman at the front desk was really trying to help get our room prioritized for cleaning. And when we left our son's IPAD in the restaurant, our server, literally ran out after us to hand over. We will definitely be back the next time we need to stay over in Pasadena! read more

This review is for the resort pass (pass to use pool and gym for a day). I purchased the resort pass on the ResortPass website. It cost $15 for a mid August Monday. POOL: The pool area is very nice! There is a direct view of historic Pasadena City Hall. The pool itself is small. It is a rectangle that goes from 5ft deep in the middle to 3.5 ft deep on the sides. The pool chairs are tastefully cushioned and there is a towel service. There is an employee to handle food and drink orders out on the side. The pool is right next to the gym so swimmers have access to the gym restrooms and water cooler. There were a LOT of people with kids despite a weekday afternoon (refer to pictures). Most of the chairs were occupied by 3 pm. I think there are a lot of locals here on a resort pass. GYM: The hotel gym was very nice! It has an amazing view of the mountains. The gym is not too big but well equipped with Pelotons, chest press machine, shoulder press machine, row machine, cable station, etc. Pretty close to most of the standard machines you would find at a commercial machine. For free weights, the dumbbells go up to 50 lbs. There are 3 benches. Of course, there are no smith machines or bench press or the like. The gym has a water cooler offering cold water, standard towels, and refrigerated towels. There is also a restroom conveniently outside. There were a LOT of people in the hotel gym despite it being a weekday afternoon. Maybe 5 or 6. Probably a lot of locals here on a resort pass. This gym is popular to get a pump going before going to the pool. CHECK IN: Check In process was smooth but slow. There were 2 employees and they were on lengthy phone calls both during my 11:30 am check in and 3:00 pm check out. There is refreshing fruit infused water while you wait. PARKING: Parking on the hotel property is quite expensive. I heard it was $17/day self park. The surrounding street parking is either no parking or limited to 1 hour only for most parts of the day. I parked on the immediately adjacent lot on 200 N Euclid for a $10/day flat rate. I read there may be cheaper parking across the street for $5/day but it was 90F and I was recovering from heat exhaustion so I didn't explore. VERDICT: Overall, I had a good experience. $15 for a resort pass is an unbeatable deal, especially for a classy hotel like the Westin. (After parking, it will probably come out to $25+ dollars, though.) The pool and gym were both nice and the views were good. We stayed at The Westin in Pasadena just 1 night over Halloween weekend as my cousin was getting married in town. I had higher expectations for The Westin than the usual Marriott family of properties I stay at... Sadly they were not met. We checked in on a Saturday AM before noon. We opted for valet ($22 per night). Check-in was quick. I asked for a higher floor room and was given on the 7th floor. I had booked a King bed - Superior guest room but it was hardly anything to brag about. The room was quite small, the bathroom was updated but still had a shower curtain and the water pressure was slight. The room had one chair near a lamp and one desk chair. The TV was decent and it had Netflix and other apps... The one main we didnt like was the bed was creaky/squeaky. It was annoying. Any slight movement and it would make a sound. I wasnt expecting that. Another complaint we had was the lack of a coffee shop in the lobby. There wasnt anything as far as that. Not even a market pantry that Courtyard Marriotts have. You would have to walk a few blocks to get some coffee. That wasnt good. And I'm not even a coffee drinker but it would have been nice to just go downstairs and get a pastry for myself while getting a coffee for my lady.... None of that. It was quiet on our floor so that was good. But the room itself and the hotel amenities left a lot to be desired. Not sure we would stay here again at the rate we booked at. We might look elsewhere in town. read more

We recently had a Pasadena staycation and took a shot on staying at The Westin. We hadn't stayed here before but the pictures looked nice so I booked directly through their site. We parked in front by the valet area to check-in. For parking, it's valet or self-park for full in/out privileges. Valet is a little extra so we just did self-park. Before you leave, make sure you get a validated ticket from the valet so you don't have to pay every time you leave the garage. The underground parking garage is located around the corner off of Union St. When you turn right (after CPK), stay right to get to the garage or you'll have to go all the way around again. It's a shared underground garage with only one entrance/exit. Large amounts of spaces are reserved for valet or for the bank. Most of the spots are compact, so it was a bummer to see so many SUVs hogging up spaces and making it impossible to squeeze in/out. After lugging our stuff across the garage and up to the hotel, we got to our room 907. Whenever we stay anywhere, we always wipe down the room to make sure it's clean. The room itself passed with flying colors, but there was some grime/stains on the bathroom walls (not a deal breaker). There were loads of families there during our stay, but we didn't hear a peep in our room (apart from the window; it was facing Walnut St. which has a fair amount of traffic). Overall we liked our stay and would stay here again. The employees we interacted with were very nice and helpful. The parking is a bit of a hassle though, so honestly save yourself a headache and just fork over the extra couple of bucks for valet. read more
