Stayed 6 nights at the Westin Pasadena and overall had a pleasant experience, mainly thanks to the bar and restaurant staff who were genuinely delightful and made us feel welcome throughout our trip. We appreciated the small perks a $20 food credit and a complimentary glass of prosecco were nice touches. One drawback: there were no spare hangers in the closet, which became inconvenient over a longer stay like ours. A simple fix that would go a long way for extended guests. We spent a Friday night here to celebrate our anniversary. The self parking has very tight spaces, be careful to stay within the lines. Many cars don't and I wonder how people could get back to their cars. The lobby reception was nice and attentive. We checked in our room. The room looks cozy but looking closer, it's time to update a few items. The comforter must have been laundered too many times that I saw some lint on it. Some of the furniture piece look a little dated. Overall the room is clean. We are good spending one night here. read more

I was greeted by Front Desk agent Roman. He was very nice and efficent. He provided excellent customer service. Verycattentive to my needs. He gets 5 stars from me! I had 2 rooms. Housekeeping needs to be more attentive to details. One of the biggest of my compliant is hair in the bathroom. There were several long hairs on the walls of the shower! In the 2nd room the tub spout was rusted. I had my grand children who take baths, so that was not good for them. Needless to say Roman was apologetic and quickly relocated us to rooms that suited our needs. Brittany at the restuarant was fantastic. Her service was very welcoming and appreciated. Overall the $30 amenity fee, well worth it! At first I didnt thing so until Roman explained it to me. So grateful for that! Lastly I loved the service the staff rendered. Customer Sevice was extremely lacking, the check-in process for our group was extremely challenging out of the 20 individuals that stayed in our group, 6 of them had major issues with reservations. Starting with confirmations not being found, rooms were not ready far beyond the standard check-in time or they were dirty upon arrival. The coffee shop in the lobby serving "Starbucks" is extremely disgusting, expensive, being served from an automated vending machine, that tastes like it has been cleaned in months The highlight to the trip was my room, it was lovely and I was one of the lucky ones to not have any issues with my room. read more

I had a great stay at The Westin Pasadena and would absolutely stay here again. The location alone is a win it's walking distance to the Pasadena Convention Center, which was perfect since I was in town attending IMATS. Being able to get in and out of the convention without dealing with traffic or long commutes made the entire trip so much smoother. The hotel itself is clean, calm, and well maintained. My room was spacious (which I really appreciated), thoughtfully laid out, and very clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and everything felt fresh and quiet, exactly what you want after a long day out. I also loved having Ventanas right inside the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent, and it was nice to unwind without having to leave the property. Great service, relaxed atmosphere, and solid menu options. I would say the food was more Hispanic themed. Staff were professional and welcoming, check-in was easy, and overall the hotel felt safe, polished, and comfortable. I stayed in Room 649 and woke up in the middle of the night to discover an infestation of ants in the bathroom. Ants were crawling up and down the shower curtain and all along the sink, prompting me to check out early. The front desk attendant offered me a measly 5,000 Bonvoy points for the inconvenience, then unbeknownst to me overcharged me nearly $60 in incidentals for a pet fee for my service dog. Over a month later I am still trying to recoup the $60 in fees through Marriott Bonvoy Customer Service. I have stayed at the Pasadena Westin every Fourth of July and New Year's Eve for years, and this is the only negative experience I've ever had. When I was told that we were upgraded to a junior suite, I was excited. However, the stay turned out to be very disappointing. The room size was acceptable, but the main issue was that there was only a tiny window in the room, which is not common. There was also a Peloton bike in the room, but unfortunately, it did not work at all, so we couldn't even try it. The biggest problem was the air conditioner. It was extremely loud and could not be turned off using the control panel. The air vent was directed straight toward the bed, blowing directly against my head and face throughout the night. As a result, I barely got any sleep. Overall, it was such a terrible experience that we would not come back in the future. read more

The Westin Pasadena is an odd place: it's the only hotel I've ever been to that has no luggage carts. And parking is 2 blocks away. You'll immediately get swarmed by valets who aren't bellmen. They're valets and if you're not parking your car, they're on to the next fare. After you beg, borrow, or steal a luggage cart, it's off to the parking garage with super low clearance and tiny spots. (SUV drivers beware!) My bed was comfy but my husband's was not. It seemed to make a lot of noise any time he moved. The shower pressure was so-so and the toilet was ridiculously loud when flushed. I don't recommend going downstairs for coffee either. You'll end up standing around for 10 minutes until some harried waitress comes up to sell you a $6 cup of coffee. The only reason people book this hotel is because the view of City Hall is pretty impressive. It's also centrally located & super walkable but we won't be coming back. We specifically booked this hotel for the pool. NO where thru the bonvoy Marriott app does it say the pool is closed indefinitely. When I approached the front desk (super nicely by the way) "Roman" was extremely rude. Would not give me the time of day. He kept telling me it says it on the app- I pulled it up and asked him to please explain where and he would not. (It only describes the wonderful pool and its perks) He wouldn't look at me and dismissed me as if I wasn't even standing there. (There was no line and he was not busy) I somehow squeezed breakfast vouchers out of him but he was extremely short and unwilling to express any apology or concern. Anyways- the valet was also a mess. No direction and all the employees here seem confused or unhappy about being at work. Very expensive room nearly $600 including all the fees, one dinner (not good) for 2 and valet parking 2 days, not including tips. We were first placed in a stinky room with the toilet so low for very short people. Got a little bit of grief when requested room change because we didn't directly reserve thru Bonvoy. I am more than disappointed with my overall experience at this Westin. I booked a block of rooms for my daughter's wedding and it's been a very cumbersome process. The sales team is nice but very green. The communication process between their sales team and operations is lacking. They tried to lie and said we only had one night booked, then made us pull up documentation, and then said there is nothing they could do about it and shipped us off to another hotel miles away. They could even give us two nights, we now need to come back tomorrow and see if we have a room for one night?!? Damian and his moron of a manager were the ones on shift on Friday, February 20. The front desk guy Roman was rude while I do think trying to be funny, none of his jokes landed and came off as rude not only to me but my entire team. We're traveling for work and I don't want to be mocked or insulted by the front desk clerk, he def needs some coaching on what is appropriate. Bathrooms could use some updating but overall were decent. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room. It has a fridge and coffee pot but no way to reheat anything. Parking is very pricey. $28 per day for valet, self park is cheaper but no in and out privileges. On site restaurant has good food but way over priced. It is bewildering to me how this place gets above a 2-rating from anyone. I've given it a good shot for two years of traveling here - because it is a Westin - but there are FAR better places just around the corners. I kept thinking, "It's got to be good this time, last time was a fluke. It's a Marriott, it's a Westin." But no. Every time, it's awful and just keeps getting worse. The AC has been broken for over a year (read other reviews). I honestly think they tell guests it's broken so that Marriott saves money. How you have a Marriott hotel in Pasadena without working air-conditioning is wild... The pool has been "out of service" for two years. (But if you want to walk to the Hilton a few blocks away, you can get a voucher for free entry. wth....) The beds are sinkholes and will destroy you, not to mention loud, hot, and (this time) dirty. For $300-400/nt, at least have a decent bed. The Wifi is abysmal - almost non-existent. If you need wifi that actually works, you have to pay an additional $13/day for "special" wifi. That is just a crazy thing to make guests do. The showers are gross. And not like, "I wish the AC worked since it's 90 degrees out, this bed is awful, the food was bad, and this room was $300...and also the shower is gross." but legitimately - the shower floors are *gross*. The restaurant is below mid-fare, and forget about trying to get coffee in the morning. There is usually one person working the dining bar, the restaurant floor, and the coffee service all on their own. Oh, and your coffee - with required tip - is $9. Wash it down with the bottle of Fiji in your room that is $10, the only water available. Now check your email for $13. Oh...and you got swarmed by the valets and felt obligated to park your car (since there is no visible parking anywhere nearby)? That's another $30/day, plus tip. This place is nuts. It's no wonder when I checked in yesterday and said to the desk clerk, "Wow...there's no one here. What's going on?", that they replied, "Yeah, it's been reallllly quiet the last six months." No kidding... (To be fair, the humans working here are always nice. I'm sure it's Marriott brass that are destroying the place.) read more

This wasn't just polite customer service--it was thoughtful, attentive, above-and-beyond hospitality that you don't come across often. They checked in (without being intrusive), made sure I had everything I needed to stay productive and comfortable, and created an atmosphere that felt both professional and personal. It truly felt like they were invested in making my stay great, not just doing their jobs. Even the maintenance crew deserves recognition--their friendliness and responsiveness didn't go unnoticed. Every interaction, no matter how small, reflected a team that takes pride in what they do and in how they treat their guests. There was construction happening due to renovations, but I experienced zero disruptions, which honestly speaks volumes about how well everything is managed behind the scenes. The only downside was not being able to use the pool, but even that couldn't take away from how recharging the stay was. But after a long workday in a clean, peaceful place and being able to unwind with a glass of wine was just as refreshing. I can't thank the team enough for turning a last-minute booking into such a memorable and comfortable stay. The service here is what truly sets this place apart. I got a really great deal here by using the hoteltonight app. Without the deal I could see why this place has mixed reviews. The place itself is old, but like classy old if that makes sense. There were stains on the carpet in our room and there was wear and tear in the most used places, but I typically don't downgrade a place unless the stains are where I rest my head. I'm not particularly snobby, my family and I do not typically stay at these higher end hotels. We're more of an "Inn" family. The customer service here was amazing. Loved how friendly and accommodating they all were. We needed another blanket and towel. Brought in minutes. We needed a trolley for our luggage at check out, but couldn't find one. One was brought to our room within minutes. The minus points come from the A/C, which seemed to struggle to keep the room cool, and the lack of ventilation. When a person takes a shower it gets muggy in the room. Since the AC struggles to keep up with temp, it doesn't remove humidity very quickly either. Thankfully you can actually crack a window to help, but when it's 95 out that can make other problems worse. I also feel like they "force" valet on you. It's $28 for valet with in and out privileges or $19/day to park yourself with no in and out privileges. This means that if you want to come and go throughout the day you would have to pay $19 each time. So if you got back from a long day, showered, and wanted to go out for a bite, that's another $19. That being said, the valet service was excellent. I didn't know this initially, since I'm not fancy, but you can call down before you leave your room and your car will be waiting for you. It was nice, and I did feel spoiled. Overall it was a wonderful stay though, just wish those two things could be fixed. The location for our purpose was excellent, so we might be back if we can get that great deal again, otherwise we probably can't afford it. read more

Pros: friendly staff, great location, moderately comfortable bed, reasonably priced self-parking, pool Cons: WE FOUND SOMEONE ELSE'S BALLED-UP, USED BOXER BRIEFS ON THE FLOOR NEAR THE BED. We didn't discover it until we were literally climbing into bed for the night and since we were only staying one night we chose to leave them right where they were and notify the staff when we checked out in the morning. GROSS. I couldn't even look over in that area after that. There was also dirt or ash or something on the inside of the windowsill. And the room showed lots of signs of wear and tear. The closet door wasn't hanging properly anymore, the bathroom vanity was warped and peeling on the side by the shower, the side of the tub was streaked and dirty, there were long black hairs stuck inside the toilet that moved every time we flushed but never went down the drain. Water pressure in the shower is very low and makes for a long shower trying to get shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. We chose the Westin for our anniversary night get away and while it wasn't a COMPLETE waste of money, we will not be back. Hard to have a good nights rest knowing someone else's dirty chonies are chilling in the corner. Makes you wonder what else was left unturned, uncleaned... read more

My wife and I booked this hotel because they advertised a city scape rooftop bar experience. When we arrived we inquired about the rooftop bar. They told us it was still under construction. Disappointed, we had to go elsewhere. Before we checked out I asked the male receptionist if perhaps the Hotel could validate our parking. They refused. The lobby has a lingering trace of old cigarette smoke, veiled by an overpowering white tea fragrance. While some areas like the renovated bathrooms suggest efforts to refresh the property, the improvements feel isolated. Subtle signs of wear are present throughout: stained pull-down shades, peeling paint on the window sill. At one point, an inexplicable metal piece even fell off my door. I couldn't determine where it belonged, which speaks to the lack of attention to detail. Also the omelet I had for breakfast at the cafe was way overcooked at typically expensive hotel prices. My husband and I went to Pasadena for the Cruel World Festival, and we were happy to be able to book the Westin at a block rate after our Airbnb cancelled on us. Check-in as easy and staff members were friendly. Our room was simple. It was a basic king room with no extra seating area. It was nice to have a fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. The room was clean and modern-looking. I wish there had been a sink outside of the restroom to do makeup. The safe in our room was broken, as was the ice machine on our floor. Luckily I ran into a friendly staff member who let me know that I needed to go down to the fifth floor for ice. Otherwise, I would have been wandering from floor to floor. We ordered room service for breakfast in the morning. I have very low expectations of room service, but wanted a breakfast before heading to a music festival. Unfortunately the eggs were rubbery and the toast was tough so I threw them away. I did really appreciate the Cruel World lighting projected in the lobby. There is a self-parking lot at the hotel that charges $19/night. Supposedly hotel guests park for $17/night with validation, but we were only given the discount for one of the nights. All in all, this hotel is fine, but nothing special. read more

The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Front desk gentleman on check in was great! Super friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. Check out gal was polite but a bit cold. The room needs some maintenance. The shower control was missing finishing pieces and the shower head itself was clogged in spaces. The bathroom sink has a clog as well and was very slow to drain...gross. When I mentioned these to the front desk at check out, it was met with a fake smile and mumbled "ok". What do you do if you're gone all day from your room from 8 AM to 5:39 PM and you come back and the room is not made and everything is the way you left it but nothing is cleaned or replenished? Should I be happy? Now I have to make my own bed... I thought I came to this hotel so they could take care of me?!? And when I called downstairs to ask them, why, they called me to tell me the housekeeper marked it as cleaned and then asked me, "are you sure they didn't clean the room?" Yes yes, I'm sure! Now I'm gonna post a picture so they could see how I found my room at 5:39 PM after an entire day away. Update - the housekeeping manager did call me back to apologize and they did credit some points for the inconvenience. I am glad they followed up and owned up to their oversight or mistake. Stayed here recently for a work trip, one night. The customer service was great. I found everyone to be exceptionally polite and helpful. The size of the single king room was decent, plenty of space for one. Size of the bathroom was acceptable, like a small studio bathroom. The bed was as comfy as any king size bed could be, I slept wonderfully. The overall room, however, and I guess the hotel overall, I would say was fairly aged. The bathtub could have used some work. The flooring and walls could have used some touch ups (at least in the room). The walls were pretty thin. You could hear the neighboring rooms flush toilets and whatnot. The most unfortunate thing, and maybe the only real disappointment, was finding a long hair stuck to one of the towels in my room that I feel like could have been caught before it was ever placed in there. Nevertheless, I would stay here again and would recommend it. The rates were better/comparable to other hotels in the area. read more

One of these bits of information is the "amenities" section, which still lists the pool (with no mention of closure) and shows up before the "renovation" section, which spends exactly one sentence telling of the pool closure. Still, because the fine print exists, they will not even partially refund you. Shady business practice. Plenty of better options nearby that don't feel the need to deceive. Book elsewhere. read more

Had a nice stay in Pasadena. Good location, lots to do in the area. Old Town Pasadena was a short walk away. The room was nice but the bed was worn out and sank in the middle. This was in room 1205, so hopefully the Westin is keeping up with their Yelp reviews and will check out the bed and replace it. They printed out a barcode for in and out parking. It is not through the keycard, which I guess works out because it was able to be used after leaving the keycard in the room after departure. read more

Reggie and (Victoria I think?) made me and my son feel like family and helped us when we were in a pinch with the company that booked our stay (not the hotel).
