Reasonably priced hotel in a good area with good access to everything. The rooms include the standard amenities, like a microwave, fridge, TV, wifi, etc. You do get what you pay for though. This hotel is cheaply priced, so the carpet is pretty messed up, the shower head is barely functional and the shower doors allow water to leak through, the cabinets are in disrepair, and there are some odd stains on the grout. It's not the worst place to pick if you just need a room. If you expect much more than a safe, relatively clean, and pest-free place to sleep for cheap, maybe splurge a little more for a better room somewhere else. read more

I am very disappointed I the way they handle costumer concern! I have been coming to Astro for over 5 years since I travel for work.I am Aware that motels aren't perfect but usually the man who checked me in was very kind and receptive. Unfortunately this time I was checked in by Tanya who was very clear she wasn't interested in helping a woman like me .I shared kindly some concerns with her about dried blood (or red spots on my pillow) that so obviously weren't from me .she immediately tried to blame me and was extremely rude and dismissive letting me know it wasn't her problem. During stay we discovered a HIDDEN CAMERA no larger then the size of your finger tip, that was taped to the bottom of the  table inside the room that was facing the bed and bathroom area. Local law enforcement was called to complete a report and collect evidence. Property manager nor company did nothing to apologize or compensate for our stay. This was absolutely a VIOLATION OF PRIVACY, and should be rectified yet nothing was done. Police report number is in hand and an investigation is underway. Very rude front desk. Uneven floor in bathroom caused flooding. My child almost fell multiple times. When checking out, I needed extra time due to my child being sick, I was rushed out by obnoxious knocking on door about every 10 mins. And was ONLY given a 30 min extension. I met my husband here due to a business travel and was told I couldn't have an additional vehicle on the lot even though it was empty. Better off staying at a motel 6. Centrally located, in a quiet area with the basic amenities. An overwhelming chemical smell greeted us when we opened the door to our room. I was slightly puzzled that there were three pillows on the bed and not four. The bathroom was bizarre: super uneven floor, only one hook (by the sink, so nowhere to hang your towel while showering) and no vent or fan. The walls were thin so we could hear the person on the other side of the wall, as well as the person above us stomping around. It wasn't dirty but it certainly didn't feel clean. It's a motel so not sure why "hotel" is in the name but I would never stay here again. read more

If I could give this hotel a 0 I would. The hotel's management is very poor. The female receptionist called me hyper several times because I wanted her to call her boss. She labeled me as hyper, which I wasn't. I was frustrated she would not provide options for canceling. In addition, there was no manager on site. When it was my turn, I got a different treatment. I was given the SPEECH; she informed me that there is to be only 2 people in the room, no visitors are allowed, and no in and out all night. This is my boyfriend and I's second time booking a room here within a month. It's very modern, simple, and we enjoyed our stay for the most part. There's even a nice little two-seating side table to enjoy your take out which was nice. Everything was perfect our during our first stay. The concierge even allowed us to early check-in, so that was such a convenient plus! Thanks again, kind sir! The only down side from our second experience was that at 4:30am (really early in the morning), one of the guests from the room beside us (we weren't sure whether they were to our left or right) woke up us from their very obnoxious and rudely loud talking and laughing. For a second, we thought "they" (we weren't sure if it was just one guy on the phone or two people chatting) were talking right outside our door. My boyfriend had to open the door twice because we were under the assumption they/he was speaking aloud outside. It was driving us crazy especially since we just wanted to rest from our drive from Vegas and working all day the day before. This man's laughing was literally SO LOUD! Initially, when I was awaken by it before my boyfriend, I wanted him or them to enjoy themselves before actually having to do something about it. But they/he just kept talking and talking and laughing. OMG ‍ at this point I'm just annoyed at how inconsiderate people can be to be this rude at 4 in the damn morning!!! Like, you really couldn't wait till at least 7 or 8 ‍ And it became even more frustrating when my boyfriend woke up to check outside and they/he weren't outside so we were confused about where these guests even were. He was SUPER irritated that he just slammed our door extremely loud and starting banging on the walls trying to signal for them to SHUT UP but also while not even knowing if that wall was the right direction of the person(s) talking. I asked him to calm down and stop because I was concerned he could have banged on the wrong wall and woken up guests. At this point, I really couldn't get back to sleep either because now I'm all worried about an issue that could arrive if we'd have woken up guests that were just sleeping OR if it was the very obnoxiously loud guest(s), they'd want to get aggressive. ‍ I'm so over this morning! But honestly, what my boyfriend did worked! He/they shut up for the rest of the morning and I (the only person awake now cause my bf was able to go back to sleep) haven't heard another laugh or word. There were silverfish in the bathroom and the manager was horribly mean. He made me cry and then actually threatened to call the police on me if I didn't stop. He also lied twice about upgrading me to a different room, which I offered to pay for. He took my card and didn't swipe it but didn't inform me so I ended up moving my property from the room only to put it back after I returned from work! Cute retro style--even an adorable fridge. I like the outlets all have USB ports. Nice remodel inside for sure. However parking is scary it's so tiny and limited. And my room never got cleaned in the 4 nights I was there. They didn't change the sheets, one day they didn't even bother to make the bed! What it did have was an uncomfortable bed, with uncomfy pillows and a really thin blanket. It also had an annoying gnat flying around! this motel set up is not worth the price. parking, in itself, is so terrible and resembles a car junk yard in terms of how they compact cars in the lot. the bathrooms have modern aesthetic appeal, but the pictures posted online are very deceiving. the sheets were stained with yellow marks and sleeping was an issue because of the sewer-like smells in the room. the a/c was not working well and the whole room was just poorly cleaned. the two stars go towards the fact that the room has a fridge, hairdryer, and microwave that all work. the tv is the nicest thing in the room, but with the spotty wifi, it glitches when you're using it. honestly, just needed a room for one night so i'm glad it wasn't beyond that because everything in that room was not worth the price cumulatively. best advice from me is, stay at a motel 6 where the price matches the stay. for a little under $100, i would definitely have picked something like a days inn or something of that nature. this place should be $60 max. if it was, i might've considered a better rating for the stay for what it offered & lacked overall. read more

This room was exactly what we wanted. It's a pretty big room and the main selling point was the jacuzzi tub!! It was amazing and the dual overhead shower head and removable shower head was a nice touch too. Two large flat screen TV's, Mini-Fridge, and black out curtains helped keep out the heat. Needed a place to stay and fro some reason all the other hotels were booked or unusually expensive. I think on this night the Astro was something like $170. Anyway, we decided to give it a try. This place is a renovated motel basically. The rooms have a funky modern decor, but the remodel looks very amateur. There are many exposed extension cords and the paint is sloppy and in parts unfinished. With that being said, the room we got was spacious and clean. There was a separate seating are and an extra TV for our daughter. It had a nice big jacuzzi tub, albeit it was fixated in the center of the room. LOL Mini fridge and microwave was provided. Parking is free if you can find it. In the morning when we left, cars were double parked everywhere. Wasn't great, wasn't bad, ok to stay if you're in a pinch. read more

My boyfriend and I had an anniversary yesterday and we were looking all over the internet for a cool, fun place to stay at. However places on the beach were an arm and a leg, plus it's freezing right now and probably wouldn't be worth it. We finally found this amazing hotel in Pasadena. We personally love LED lights and they had it in their "romantic sweet", they even had a jacuzzi tub with jets, and their shower was phenomenal!! We had the best anniversary stay in Astro Pasadena and will definitely be returning. I would recommend bringing your own comfortable if you can, because yes their sheets are pretty thin. Overall, my boyfriend and I had a great time here! We stayed in the Romantic Suite and it really was the most romantic place. The hot tub and rainfall shower were amazing - especially for the price! The only thing we didn't love was the bed. There were only 2 sheets and one relatively thin blanket, so we got a little cold during the night. That being said, we didn't ask for any more blankets - if we did I'm sure they would have been happy to accommodate. The person who checked us in was really nice as well. He told me they only had one room left and that was the reasoning. It was fairly clean and had a nice modern feel. They said we don't have new sheets , we don't have room and we can't give you refund . I ask them to call the Polis , and they didn't. Clean, and recently remodeled but......$188 for a night? Nope. That's insane. The bed was hard, there was no conditioner and hardly any shampoo or body wash in the shower. Constant reminders about hotel policies to the point it feels like I'm going to get charged another $300 for something ridiculous. If there's no parking you have to park on the street and register with Pasadena or you get a parking ticket. All this for $188. For a single night. It's just way too much. I needed a quick stay on the spot so I found this on Expedia. It had a fairly good price, some good reviews and it looked decent. Our room had a ton of hair on the bed from whoever previously stayed here, the sheets were stained, and ... to top this off, there was a CONDOM WRAPPER on the floor! Disgusting. Can't believe this place has good reviews! The was by far the one and only terrible experience I've ever had at a hotel, and I don't usually go to expensive places and have stayed in hostels and they were fine! We checked in (and they charged our credit card at check in) and were shocked by how filthy our room was- there were multiple stains and hairs all over our beds, pillows, sheets, and dirty towels(pubic hair, anyone)?. I went to the manager(?) Meetash, and he came and looked at the dirty room, and said "I'll talk to houeskeeper tomorrow about it". He didn't offer to help in anyway. When I asked to at least get clean sheets, He brought us sheets that were ALSO covered in stains- which he even noticed and commented about how they were also dirty!!!! Then he sets down the dirty sheets and goes to leave!!! Couldn't believe it. I asked if there was a maid who could help, he said no. When we then asked to get switched to another room, he said "We're booked up and so are all the other hotels in the area".(how would he know) and "I'm going to talk to the houeskeeper about the sheets tomorrow. " "We just started doing the sheets "In House". ' Ok.. so I said, that's understandable that you need to talk to the housekeeper, but what are you going to do for us? Tonight?". Instead of doing what a good manager would have done (anything) he asked me what I think he should do. Me:"You tell me. I dunno, offer us a discount? Try to get us clean sheets?" He then asks how much of a discount he should give us. "I don't know - what's fair?" Ok he says, " I'll give you 20% off in the morning. come back in the morning for your discount". At that point he leaves, taking the stained bedcovers with him (sorry we didn't get a picture of the poop smeared duvets). And leaves the door hanging open, I go to shut the door, and notice that after I shut the door, the room is still chilly, and I can hear traffic noise, and there's cigarette smoke inside. Turns out our window was broken, and wouldn't close all the way! So ghetto...and there was an ashtray directly outside our window, to our non smoking room, and a guy was just hanging out in front of our window smoking. Awesome. I try to close the window, and notice there's a handy "saftey stick" to use to try and wedge it closed with. But it doesn't seal. At that point, we're done putting up with this place. We go eat dinner, call another hotel, book a room, and come back for our refund. Upon our return, Meetash is gone, and another employee is there, not wearing a hotel shirt and hanging out in the parking lot, which is full with double parked cars. I tell him we checked in earlier and spoke with Meetash, and I'm here for a refund. Long story short, he refuses to help, doesn't contact his manager until I asked 3 times, and told me to "come back tomorrow" about my issue...and once he's on the phone he clearly doesn't believe me about the room. Not only did this guy not apologize about our room, he tells me that "You can contact your bank to get your refund" and "sometimes sheets are dirty" and "We have great yelp reviews". After way too much patience and standing my ground, I finally got my refund. I shouldn't have to have my bank do this. That's crazy. And When I go to leave, this guy tells me "good luck at your other hotel"!!!! A few extras: I thought other yelpers mentioning the bad paint jobs in their reviews may have been persnickety. Nope, I totally see what they were saying. Looks like they tried to make this place look trendy in the cheapest way possible. The walls in our room looked so scuffed up that they seemed to have had been under hard use for way longer than this place had been "refurbished". Our phone didn't work in the room. (mentioned that to the manager and he said he knew about that to- but didn't warn us about that at check in or apologize). The bathroom mirror was covered in burn(?) marks, the walls were dirty, there were exposed cords The light switch and bathroom door had grime on the handles and frame, the bathmat was also visibly stained and was wet and crumpled on the floor from previous use. Even the carpets were visibly dirty and hadn't been vacuumed If you are traveling with your car- the parking lot was a complete nightmare and by late evening you can't even pull-in as the place doesn't have enough spaces. There are ashtrays infront of everyroom. If you're sensitive to smoke at all this should be reason enough to avoid this place. I noticed a lot of 20 somethings partying here; even if our room had been sanitary and secure I think the party noise would have been annoying late at night.
