I had a bad experience at this hotel and I have been waiting more than 10 days for them to return my message. My first room was incredibly dirty, see pictures, someone entered my room without my consent while my wallet was open on the counter because I ran to my car not thinking any one would enter, that stressed me out. After showing the front desk photos of the dirty room they gave me a new room, which was equally dirty. The sheets in the new room had hair and dirt in them, dead bugs on window sill, hair in bathroom a second time. I had to sleep fully clothed out of discomfort with the accommodations because by the time I got into the second room it was almost 11 PM and I had to wake up very early the next day so I slept uncomfortably fully clothed and was very unhappy. They told me a manager would call me. I said please call me at 10:30am, that is when I'm available, and instead the manager called at 9:30am when I was not available and I told her I would call back and when I called back, no one answered and I left a message and have never heard anything. I have no idea how it had a 4 1/2 star rating on American Airlines hotel advantage mileage booking, but I will be making sure to leave a review there as well. See photos. read more

Rooms are outdated and small. No bathtubs in rooms. Old carpets. Beds on plywood bed frames. Parking is $25 a night, very far away from the room and no staff members are willing to help bring items up. The bar doesn't open until 4PM. Rooms are GROSSLY OVERPRICED. Need i say more? read more

They have been very kind & accommodating to Eaton Fire evacuees like us (for which we are quite grateful), but I would give Pasadena Hotel a 5 star review anyway. -The staff are quite nice. Shout-out to Justin (in janitorial? But he seems to do a bit of everything), Courtney the night auditor, and Juan at the front desk. Sorry I don't know the names of everyone else at the bar, at the front desk, the chefs making the tasty food, etc. -The rooms look & feel nice, and just as importantly, I find it easy to DO things in my room. I don't know what makes it hard to get work done in some hotels and not in others, but our hotel room has been quite easy for getting work done. -If you are sensitive to WiFi, I think it's a bit less to deal with (while still being a fast connection) & more pleasant here than in most hotels I've tried. -Some of the strongest shower water pressure I have ever experienced. -Pleasant clean simple gym by the pool. I recommend the fish game on the rowing machine. -Obviously a great location for most needs & desires. read more

This place is nicely decorated and it had so much personality , we had a great time here even though we only stayed for one night. They had some vintage and modern furniture, some games for you to play, cute stations with vintage phones, a very nice pool on the 3rd floor, a quiet courtyard area to do some work, a nice bar. They do share the building with a dispensary but it didn't really bother us since it's more around the parking lot and when we were in our room you can't really smell anything. There was a bit of noise coming from our neighbors in the hallway around 11pm Thursday that night but it subsided quickly and we were on vacation anyway. I can imagine the place gets noisy on the weekends. The parking was $29 a night with in and out privileges all day, and even if you check out you can still leave your car there for the rest of the day before we headed off to our next destination we explored a little. There's is a bit of a homeless situation right outside as we were walking to the Old Town Cafe ( Which has amazing food by the way, it's on the second floor going down Colorado Blvd.) I can't wait to go back someday when we're in that area. It was overall a pleasant stay I would go back. read more

I have been coming here for over a year, and I fell in love with their salmon fish taco. Cajon salmon with coleslaw and pickled radish, they were delicious! At first they completely took them off the menu and now added a new fish taco. Regular breaded fish and a taco that looked like a 3 year old put it together. Plus black beans!!?? Get it together Pasadena hotel! read more

We loved our stay here. I'm a big sucker for beautiful art deco buildings and this hotel is just so pretty inside and out. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was very helpful when our long term parking pass didn't work. There's an amazing breakfast burrito spot as well as many other great restaurants just outside of the lobby or within walking distance. The pool is clean and beautiful. Would love to stay here again. read more

Such an amazing hotel and experience. I will be back. Great reasonable prices too. Beautiful lobby and very clean everywhere.

The services are terrible. Stayed here since Friday to Monday and we kept having problems with their key system even on the garage structure. Very annoying to be calling them for this. They made us walk down to the hotel lobby to replace the keys are still didn't work. That was just one issue. We asked for towels several times and nothing. No one came to clean our rooms and when we asked them to do so, they said we had to let them know a day before. So our trash was full and I had to be doing my own bed. There's no coffee in the rooms either. The showers have a plastic curtain that covers the other side of the shower that if you lift it they can see you by the bed area. Rooms are small. Not happy with this place. It was my birthday weekend so if you want to be here several days don't. One day will be ok I guess. My husband went to complain and even though the kid at the desk had nothing to do with the issues he left comments to the manager. Hopefully he will read them. This is my honest review. It's a nice hotel, old but they have done remodeling. I think the best way will be for them to actually give you old actual keys to avoid all this mess. But yes, will not recommend. read more

We weren't sure what to expect from this property as we got a stellar deal for our three-night stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of service from the front desk staff and bar staff (killer cocktails and reasonably priced). The rooms are small at this historic building but offer some great touches like the ability to control the room's various lighting options from the bedside. The shower water pressure was fantastic but adding a small shelf in the shower could go a long way! The lobby is cozy and comfortable and very nice to photograph! The rooftop pool was heated and a great place to hang out. One simple miss -- we didn't have housekeeping for the three nights we were there, though it's unclear why. The staff was apologetic and kind about it. We also didn't have working air conditioning for two days but was remedied by our checkout. read more

Cool and kind of funky old hotel in Pasadena. I was interested because I saw it was built in 1926 as a swim club. The rooms have been updated but the lobby still looks old timey. They have a cocktail bar and the rooftop pool is fabulous! It's a great location too! Close to shopping and tons of bars and restaurants. read more

I just stayed here while on a business trip in Pasadena. Here's the good, the bad and the annoying; The hotel is on Colorado and Mentor, a good area. You enter the garage on Mentor. The lobby is very nicely appointed. In fact, another guest and I had a brief conversation about the decor and we both thought it very nice. The lobby check in staff were very nice. Not chatty, just pleasant enough. After you park your car you have to pay very, very close attention to the signs getting to the lobby. The signs aren't really very clear and not very well done. You also pay $29.00 a night for parking!! The rooms; my room was very, very clean and very nice. Odd air freshener though. Lemon/Lavender? Or Lemon/Lime/Heather? Can't quite place it. The beds were clean and comfortable. There are shutters on the windows but they did NOTHING to mask street noise. I could not open the window. It was painted shut or glued shut. The shower wall is glass and faces the bedroom. There is a shade you can lower. Mine was stuck in the down position, I could not raise it. The bathroom was very nice, shower very nice, very clean. The front door doesn't mask hallway noise. You could hear people walking. I opened the hall closet door and hung the robes on it and that masked a lot of noise. The air conditioner was very, very quiet so it does nothing to mask noise either. All in all I have to say I was impressed. I would stay there again but I might ask for a room higher up, further away from the street. Pasadena is known for being a noisy city. I lived there for many years before moving away. read more

I think the hotel is in a GREAT location. It's in the heart of downtown Pasadena. You have easy access to the best restaurants while also being close to the nice neighborhood. Folks walk their dogs in the mornings. The fitness center is actually decent for a hotel. Finally, the breakfast downstairs is good while the service is great. I would recommend staying here. The parking garage (self-parking) is easy too. read more

I absolutely loved the vintage decor and overall vibe of this hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel and our room were very clean. Location was great, being in close proximity to so many shops and restaurants. The downside, and why I took away one star, is the weird bathroom situation. There's only a glass door (similar to the shower) that divides the space from the bedroom. It's really awkward and offers no privacy at all. Despite that major deterrent it still gets 4 stars because it's such a unique and beautiful place. read more

Three of us had to evacuate our homes because of the Eaton Canyon Fires and found refuge with many other evacuees at the Pasadena Hotel & Pool. The support we received from Mark, Denzel, Terry, Minn and Nicoli was truly remarkable. They showed us kindness, understanding, and incredible patience as we navigated the confusion, fear, and heartbreak of our situation. The accommodations were beautiful and provided a comforting escape from the chaos surrounding us. One of our group is undergoing chemotherapy and has lost everything, including two family homes. She managed to escape with just the clothes she was wearing. Mark went above and beyond to make sure she felt welcomed and cared for. Just thinking about his generosity and compassion brings tears to my eyes. Thank you, Mark, and everyone at Pasadena Hotel and Pool. You turned a tragic experience into a beautiful memory that we will cherish. read more

There is a parking garage that is available to park in for $29, paid to hotel. read more

I like this little hotel. It is now under new owners from the days that it was the Constance. The lobby's new decoration is well done and was badly needed. No more crazy neon - it's got a refined, classic look. We lounged by the pool which was just about perfect. 4 Stars for this review is b/c the pool menu and the bar menu is the same at the moment. That was disappointing. Otherwise, it's a clean hotel. Sheets are soft and the bed is cozy. Very good customer service. read more

An attractive, expensive, low-amenity, very very strange hotel. The public spaces are gorgeous and rich with feeling of Pasadena history. But, bottom line, you're at a hotel for the room and the sleep, and everything falls apart there. Rooms are very small. Air conditioning turns off in the middle of the night. Windows have no blackout coverings, so fill the room with wakey-wakey light early in the morning (even at night, the outside lights illuminate the room). Bedding seems the wrong size for the mattress, immediately falling off the bed and clumping up uncomfortably. No housekeeping, of course, so nobody to even remake the bed. Window between the shower and the bedroom, what is even up with that? No coffee, microwave, or bottled water in the room. Public areas -- indoor lounge, outdoor patio, and pool -- are very attractive. And that's where it ends. If there were a little complimentary coffee in the morning, cookie or glass of wine in the afternoon, even just some dang spa water, it would have been lovely to sit and enjoy the space, but make me buy it at the bar and I'm going to ask myself why don't I just go out to nice coffee or wine bar. Pool is unheated, and is very very shallow, so not really designed for anything more than being an attractive centerpiece for the lounge chairs surrounding it. All in all, I'm puzzled by this hotel. It's expensive, but it delivers little other than a pretty face. I just can't figure out what sort of customer it thinks it's for, who you would have to be to find the price/value package to be worthwhile. Needless to say, I did not find it worthwhile and will not return. read more

Horrible front desk! My card to enter stopped working and this guy sent me up and down 4 times till I had to yell at him to fix it. Then he finally went up with me and opened it. The next think the front desk never answers the calls. If I have an issue they won't fix it. Hotel rug for the rooms is disguising. The beds under have holes and they say pet friendly but nooo, my cat is stuck under right now and they won't answer the phone. Why is there holes where pets can get stuck at a pet friendly hotel! read more

This is very nice hotel. I enjoyed a few days here while visiting family and attending an important family event. I felt very comfortable and safe here. Staff is super chill and friendly. You can just hang out at the bar and have a nice conversation. My room was very clean and warm. I love the style of the interior all over. Family-oriented, reasonably priced rooms and well supplied with toiletries. I liked that and will not hesitate to stay here again. Free parking too. There's a big pool as well where you can just get some sun and not notice getting sleepy bcs you feel so relaxed. I recommend this place and it will not disappoint. Staff is amazing. The ambient is welcoming. The pool area and amenities were amazing. The food was average.

Staff could not have been nicer, nor more cheerful. But: They quit continental breakfast around 9:15 AM when we were there, even though hotel claims to serve it 7:30 - 10:30 AM. So: NO coffee @ 9:30 AM? In a 6-story hotel. Really? Also, @ check in, again, w/ cheerful staffers, who say, "FYI, no housekeeping." I say, "We're here for four days, and ... no housekeeping?" Staffer: "Well, if you ask for it, we can do it." I don't need fresh sheets or towels every day, but really? I gotta make my own bed when I'm paying for a hotel? AITA? I had the pleasure of staying at the Pasadena Hotel & Pool, and it features one of the nicest hotels I've been to so far. The hotel underwent a renovation in 2002, and the results are evident in the stylish and comfortable ambiance of the interior. We recently had a two-night stay for an anniversary/birthday weekend and loved our experience. Check-in was quick and easy. The grounds, which have an old California feel, are nicely kept. Our room had a modern mid-century feel, was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. We loved that we were walking distance to several great restaurant options. For their nightly rates, it would have been nice for them to offer a free water station in the bar area, but overall our stay was quite pleasant and we will definitely return. read more

We would have enjoyed our stay, if the front desk staff was a little more competent and kind. The night shift front desk lady was very helpful, the daytime ladies not at all. We asked to stay an extra day. They said we could but we'd have to do a room switch, which we were totally fine with. We were told to check out at 11 and to check into our new room at 4. We had our pooch with us so we hung around town for 5 hours. When we came back, we found out they assigned us back to the same room! A little inconvenient but we thought hey at least we get the same room and it's been cleaned. We get back to our same room...and it's half cleaned...like bed stripped, no sheets or pillows. Trash bags left on the floor and no new bags in the cans. Like someone started cleaning the room and stopped. The room looked worse than how we had left it. It was really upsetting we spent half a day waiting for the new room, only to be given our same room that was disheveled. The worst part was when we informed the front staff...they literally just typed on their computer while we stood there for like 15 minutes and they really didn't say anything about it. Then they said they had another room available but it was still being cleaned so we'd have to keep waiting. No apology, one young lady was actually rude because I asked "well why didn't anyone call us to let us know we actually didn't have to change rooms?" to the lady who was typing on her computer at the podium in front of us and this young lady who was helping a different customer at the podium next to was like "We didn't have your number, so we couldn't" in front of the customer she was helping, and I'm like...first, stay in your lane and help the poor lady in front of you, and second whose fault is that? You guys don't take down phone numbers on reservations which is odd? And the room wasn't even ready for us, it was still uncleaned. I really think they just forgot about us which is crazy because we kept our bags there and confirmed what we were doing that morning before we left for the day. Since the room was a mess, they put us in the other room that had just been cleaned at like 5:30 pm. Even that room had dirty hand towels. We basically wasted a whole day we could have spent enjoying the hotel amenities. But we wouldn't have made a stink about it, until the staff was so rude to us, didn't offer any kind of compensation and ignored us at the front desk. They need to fire and rehire some better front desk people. They bungled the room switch and seemed dazed, un-phased, and unprofessional while talking to us. The actual hotel was a really cool. A little vintage, but that's what we liked about it. Loved that it was dog friendly. If you stay here, spring for their best room and just avoid dealing with front desk staff as much as possible. read more

This is our second time staying at the Pasadena Hotel and Pool while in town for business. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Pasadena and walking distance to incredible restaurants. All of the hotel staff were extremely nice and accommodating especially enjoyed chatting with the bartender. The lobby has a cozy energy and we liked seeing people playing games and hanging out in the communal space. There is a lovely pool (we weren't able to swim this trip) Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was large and had a beautiful bathtub that was perfect for soaking after a long day. The bed was super comfy and the room was quiet. The bartender recommended we eat next door at Bistro 45 and it was hands down one of the greatest meals we've ever had.
