I am going to start this review with a preface about how this work was done as we were emerging from the COVID19 lockdown. I probably was a crab, or I should say crabbier than usual. It didn't seem to phase this exceptional business. I feel like I hit the jackpot when I had Pasadena Garden Care respond to my call for help. Bryce went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience and as a result, we have hired this business to do our monthly maintenance. We hired Bryce and his team to help on many problem areas in our yard - including an area where a beehive lives with a cycle of very territorial bees. Pasadena Garden Care worked with us and wore bee suits to attend to our needs in this special garden. It's not just the bees. We also have a HUGE salcata tortoise that devours everything in its path. We have a fenced in garden where the bees are and Gamera tried to break in and devour my tomato plants, strawberries and most likely knock over a hive for some honey. The workers worked with our little monster to ensure our plants and "child" were safe. I am so happy we decided to go with Bryce and Pasadena Garden Care. I have only had an exceptional experience. Really wanted to work with this company. I met the owner at my house and I told him that I wanted a 150 foot fence and some hardscaping. He kept on emailing me to say " I'm gonna send you the estimate tomorrow by noon." Well, that was 2 weeks ago and he has not responded. He seemed very nice and acted motivated to work on my yard. It's a shame how some businesses act in an unethical manner with no honor or respect. I initially felt comfortable allowing this business into my home because we live a few blocks from each other *****Counter response to ARMEN's post***** There seems to be some discrepancies to Armen's response. He texted me stating " I will have the estimate ready for you tomorrow." If he needed more information from me, why would he text me stating he would email me the estimate? I'm not sure why he is mentioning city plans and plan checking. He is unlicensed, uninsured and unbonded. There is no way a city would give him permits because of his lack of credentials. She had dry soil and dead plants all along her front yard and they pulled everything in one day and prepped the soil and header boards for the installation. I really don't know what to think. I read all of these wonderful reviews and was hoping to work with Pasadena Garden Care. Bryce was more than accommodating. They sent references and the work was impeccable. At times he was flexible and later he wasn't. There was a great deal of redundancy in itemizing their quote and the bottom line was they would not be doing as much as it looked. There were things they wanted to do, such as the irrigation inspections, I did not feel were necessary as I formerly worked at Rain Bird - and it didn't appear to be negotiable. Their prices were more than I thought I should have to pay. But if they can get the price, go for it. Their quote to clean my backyard was more than all the other bids combined. We started doing some of the front cleanup ourselves to save $1600. When I approached them to begin regular maintenance, they declined. Before they were hesitant to take the job because they would be working below minimum. Without asking, they did lower the price to maintain the front. Regardless, in the long run they would have made more money on special projects and design work. NOW it is because they are no longer taking new business. Who spends all of this time on a prospective customer, when they aren't accepting new business??? A week ago, they provided references with no mention of not taking on new clients. Why didnt they hold a place to include my property or advise me for my decision as their workload was filling up??? As I stated earlier, I really wanted to work with Bryce and Armen. What especially disappoints me is I am disabled and I can no longer do the yard work myself. read more

My back yard had more than 18 pine trees that needed to be cut and removed. I found Armen with his Pasadena Garden Care team could do this job with a good price after I went through several landscapers. They came 3 times to cut the trees in June last year, and found the trees were more and the job was more difficult to do, but Armen didn't add any more money to finish this job! He told me: Money is not everything! I know he lost money on this job. He promised to come back few months later when the stumps were dry in order to be removed. Since I paid off the money, I had some worries. But they came back 4 months later and came 3 times to finish the job. I really appreciated him and felt lucky! My front yard was totally lacking in any character or personality and was crying out for a makeover. Armen and Annethe worked with me to design a colorful and drought tolerant landscape with a creative flair. Then Armen's crew tore out all of the existing landscape, which was a lot of work, and turned the design into reality. The result was exactly what I was hoping for! I enjoy looking at my yard now and feel good when I pull in the driveway. His crew also put a new fence and pathway in my backyard, and that turned out so nice that they will be doing do more work in the back. After scheduling an appointment I requested they let me know if they had any cancellations. Sure enough the next morning they had one and were able to come at 11am. Armen came recommended from a friend who oversees maintenance at large non-profit. Had some sprinkler/irrigation issues at my residence and reached out to him. First, communication was excellent. Polite, responsive, a pleasure. Set up a visit and came one time with his co-worker, Bryce, and we got down to trying to figure out what was wrong (and yes, they were both wearing masks and being mindful in the right ways). Turns out, the error on my Hunter unit had resolved itself. Armen went through all of the stations on the controller, even recommending changing some settings for the better (like sprinkler start times). I asked Armen what I owed him for the visit--and he said "nothing." I asked a few more times, but eventually relented. Armen clearly cares about acting in an honorable way and wasn't going to take money for what he didn't consider "work" (even though I've dealt with plenty of contractors whose meaning of that word is much looser!!). The best, no close competitors - Armen and his team are simply the best. Our project included two yards, difficult access problems and many unique design elements. Nothing even slowed these guys down. I had a drainage issue that I spoke to three plumbers about with no resolution. Armen's team resolved it in two days, simply and inexpensively. And as for our design, I basically described what I had imagined and handed Armen a sketch that must have looked like a grade school project. The result was extraordinary. Everything looks either just as I had visualized or better. Every day people walking past our home stop to ask about the work or offer some compliment. This was my experience with Pasadena Garden Care: Armen's team showed up early every day and worked hard to surpass all of my expectations. I had very specific ideas about how everything from plumbing to plant types should come together and Armen meticulously followed through to make sure it happened. I contacted Pasadena Garden Care and had "HIGH" expectations of this Gardening Company. I met with the Owner who is a Smooth talker and is a Un Licensed Contractor. At the time of the walk through on my property the Owner was very unexperienced with species names. At the time to make a decision on hiring Pasadena Garden Care, I was impressed the fact that the company was local and had been in business for more than a decade. These so called gardeners are awful I think they must have picked them up at home depot. I watched them tear up a flower bed and scoop leaves into the gutter. I cannot say enough about how amazing Armen and his workers are. We did a huge overhaul of our large yard, adding a ton of both landscape and hardscape with complicated stone work. Armen worked with us to design the yard, listened attentively to our ideas and concerns, and came up with a gorgeous plan.
