Great staff! This is my very first colonoscopy ever and I was so dang nervous. My appointment was pushed back by 2 hrs because doctor was running late... not happy about it because I'm hungry and parched. Appt was at 2pm (asked to get there an hour early) so I got there at 1:30. While otw, I got a call saying it'll be pushed back an hour...later 2 hrs. In the end, my appt didnt happen until 4pm. Anyway, other than that...my prep tucked butt...but luckily that was the only thing I was worried about. Once I got into the room, the nurse directed me into the changing room. Once changed, I went to the bed and waited for another staff to check in with me to confirm my name, DOB, and health concerns. Afterwards, I got the IV inserted to my arm/hand. Waited until the doctor arrives to greet me. Finally, after a long while, the anesthesiologist arrived to let me know that I'm in good hands. Right after greeting the anesthesiologist, I went into the room for my procedure...next thing I know...I wad done! Doctor shared his findings and got my souvenir photos of the finding(s). Procedure was literally 30 minutes! Then the recovery was about 15ish (for me). read more

It's interesting writing a review for a medical facility that primarily deals with checking your gastrointestinal tracts either orally or from the south. Between my wife and I, we have come here for procedures over the years on referrals from our primary doctors. Today, my wife needed two procedures again by a specialist who uses this facility. Sure, she had to do the unpleasant preparation which is crucial to a good result of the procedures but it is really not that bad considering the alternative of not knowing your true medical condition. Again as in the past, today was no different. The reception staff were cordial and helpful, the nurses were kind and attentive and their efficiency in processing so many patients was great. Given what everyone in the waiting room was there for; it was a calm atmosphere. We are fortunate to have a facility like this nearby and, if the need arises, I won't hesitate to come here for my health care and wellbeing. read more

Oh the joy! Had to schedule my first colonoscopy. I was scared and not looking forward to it. I booked my appointment with Pasadena endoscopy with Dr. Waleed Shindy, MD. Believe it or not it was really not a bad experience. The professionalism of the nurses especially Jasmin were top-notch. The facility is so well organized and clean, and the staff was very comforting. Dr. Shindy had great reviews, but when I met him for the procedure, he exceeded my expectations. I felt the care was exceptional from start to finish and I highly recommend whether it's your first or you've had many to schedule your appointment with this facility! If you are over 50 it's very important to have the screening done. read more

Overall 3.5 Stars. I have mixed feelings about this facility. On one hand, they got the job done; on the other, my experience with Dr. Julie Yang left something to be desired, though that's not necessarily the facility's fault. Still, it made the overall experience a bit underwhelming. First, a quick note: if you've been procrastinating on getting a colonoscopy, don't delay! The recommended age for routine screening is now 45, and it's important to have your regular doctor note it as a routine screening for insurance purposes. The prep process was surprisingly easy, so no need to stress about that. When I arrived, I was welcomed and prepped by two nurses, and later met the anesthesiologist. While professional, he came across as a bit robotic, though he did explain I'd be placed in "twilight" sleep. However, I only met Dr. Julie Yang for about 30 seconds before the procedure, and there was no prior consultation--everything had been handled through her office via paperwork, phone calls, and emails. After the procedure, I was surprised that my spouse wasn't invited into the recovery room, and there was no assistance provided while I was still groggy. A nurse briefly informed me that my results were good and my blood pressure was clear before wheeling me out to the parking lot. I would've appreciated a more thorough explanation of my results directly from the doctor. Maybe no news is good news, but the experience felt impersonal--almost like a factory. Additionally, parking was inconvenient. The facility shares a lot with other tenants, so we had to find metered street parking. On the bright side, it's near Old Pasadena, so my husband was able to grab some food while waiting for my procedure to finish. All in all, they handled the procedure efficiently, but the lack of personal connection and thorough communication left room for improvement. P.S. Side note, my husband used Dr. Hanson Lee and a facility in Arcadia, it was much more personal. read more

Dr Nickowitz and the medical team here were absolutely amazing. I felt very comfortable and welcomed for my EGD-Colonoscopy. Very calm relaxed vibe with good vibe music. I was well informed from the prep process all the way though my procedure. I was welcomed in by the nurses who take your blood pressure and make you feel very comfortable until your ready for your procedure and everything is explained in detail of what will take place, and when anastasia will take place. I was comfortably put to sleep during my procedure and was pleasantly woken up. The nurse wheeled me back to my room where my results were provided and explained in detail. Everyone makes sure you are well taken care of and had a pleasant call the next day to make sure I was feeling well the day after. This place put my mind at rest n nerves at ease read more

First off I can't believe all these negative reviews. My daughter who is an RN went and had a Colonoscopy with Dr Babakhanian and she loved the place, the doctor and staff. Dr comes with a high rating. Being an RN myself, I went and had a Colonoscopy done. My first one at age 68. Staff at the front desk were inviting and gathered my insurance and had me sign concents. Was an easy prep of MiraLAX and Ducolax with Gatorade. It was hard to only have liquids. They were right on time with my daughter's AND my procedures. Had us come an hour early. Every single nurse was pleasant, professional and very friendly. From the one who had me change into a gown to the one inserting an IV, to wheeling me into the OR. So so nice. They allowed my daughter to stay with me in the pre surgical area. Yes, each area is only divided by a curtain but it was fine. It is a very busy clinic and beds are lined up and they get people in and out VERY efficiently. Dr Lee (he is also a cardiac anesthesiologist, so I knew I was in great hands) the anesthesiologist came in to chat with me prior to going into OR. He also was very nice and chatted with me in OR to make me less nervous. Dr B talked with me also in the OR before my procedure. I have to say, I was SO scared since my son had a colonoscopy a few months before and had terrible pain and was awake. He had Twilight Sleep with Versed and Fentanyl at another clinic. Dr Lee told me to take a few deep breaths via an 02 mask and said he was going to give me something to calm down via my IV...(I was pretty nervous). I tasted the Propofol in my throat for half a second haha. Next voice I heard was, "You are in the recovery room". NEVER have this procedure with Versed and Fentanyl which is Twilight Sleep. Ask for Propofol. (No wonder Michael Jackson loved this stuff). Dr B came into the recovery area and told me NO Cancer but did remove 7 very small Polyps. Said to come back in 3 years, just because of the number of Polyps. Better they are taken out, since could be pre-cancerous. You are safely monitored and it was a very comfortable experience considering the procedure. Would never be afraid of having a Colonoscopy again. Thank you to all there. I recommend this place highly. read more

Absolute worst billing department and management. I have been dealing with them for a year and a half so that they can correct their billing error but to no avail. There is no hierarchy or accountability, several messages left for a manger to contact me so we can resolve the issues have gone unanswered. I keep speaking to different people every time I call only to explain the same thing over and over, only to get even more frustrated. Absolute worst establishment for a professional place. The level of incompetency is unbelievable. read more

Hard to say that getting a colonoscopy was 'great,' but this was as smooth and painless a process as I could have hoped. End to end, the difficulty was 2/10. For the record: Chicken broth was a game changer. The staff was nice, friendly, and funny; they made an awkward experience warm and inviting. As we get older, some checks under the hood become necessary; when your time comes, definitely go here. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. After the absolutely BRUTAL colonoscopy prep (24oz broth, 64oz liquid with a bottle of MiraLAX, another bottle of Magnesium Citrate, plus 4 Dulcolax and GasX pills...I spent a lot of money on all of that btw), and a sleepless night, I showed up right on time and was told Dr. Yang was running an hour late. People dread this test, they put it off for years bc of that and the hassle of the "prep." They take time off from work for these kinds of procedures, they ask friends or partners or children to take time off as well to give them a ride home, you have to go off some medications sometimes for as much as a week to 10 days, you plan your week around not being able to leave home for at least a couple of days and you are also threatened with a $300 fee if you cancel within five days of your colonoscopy. I was there on time. I waited over an hour and was finally hooked up to an IV in preparation. They then CANCELED my colonoscopy due to "maintenance issues." After 2 days of torture it was all for nothing and I have to go through it allover again. SO incredibly unprofessional. If Dr Yang hadn't been an hour late, maybe my test wouldn't have been canceled, but to do that to your patients? They should understand what committing to this test means for people and the lengths we have to go, and whatever "maintenance" issue shouldn't happen or should be fixed immediately to not inconvenience people like it's nothing. It's unacceptable. I've found a new Gastroenterologist, who was absolutely horrified that they would cancel it like that. Needless to say it will NOT be at this facility. read more

Very difficult to give a poor review for this great facility, nurses and doctor. My latest experience here was poor due to severely delayed appointment. I was here at 2pm, at the required time for admission, and was discharged close to 7pm. Somehow, two patients were placed ahead of me (emergency?) and I had to wait 2 extra hours beyond my appointment time. My first visit five years ago went smoothly. Unfortunately, everything went wrong this time around, pre-authorization was declined (Dr. Yang was helpful getting peer review done), had to go thru the prep process twice and the office called 2 hrs just before to cancel the first appointment (yes, I had prep done twice), 2+ hr delayed session on the appointment that was scheduled about two months in advance, and finally the billing from insurance is on dispute. I really hope the center can take closer look into the administrative end of experience, the doctors and nurses are definitely hard at work and do exceptional job here. read more

Over all good service, of course you won't know what had happened after your sleep. But not bad at all, follow up call too.

Other reviewers are correct that this place is a colonoscopy mill. It's a factory. They want you in and out. They don't allow anyone other than patients in the waiting room - which is extremely inconvenient - the recovery rooms are just beds between curtains like a cut-rate abortion clinic. It's concerning they have numerous signs asking patients to ensure their property is safe guarded. The fact they can't guarantee the safety of your personal items is a major concern. I arrived to pick up my husband and they had him sitting in an old-looking wheelchair in the hallway. To be fair, someone was there with him, but they couldn't be expected to have a nicer place to wait for rides? The staff looks bedraggled. At 10 am, the girl at the front desk was disheveled, and no one there seemed to care about their appearance. Look, I get it's probably a difficult job, but if you're front desk, comb your hair. Further, they have everyone wearing masks like it's 2020. The place looks like a social security office and I was reminded three times I couldn't have food in the waiting room because patients were fasting. I had a coffee and was merely making sure my husband got checked in OK and was on my way out. If they care so much about patients, they should provide better service and allow drivers and family to be there when the patient wakes up. The state of healthcare in this country is a crying shame. It's an embarrassment that our healthcare providers are in such sorry states, don't provide value for cost, and expect you to be assembly-lined through a delicate medical procedure treating people like cattle. We need to demand better. read more

Everyone working there was super sweet but when I checked in to my appointment, they were running one hour behind which turned into over two hours. I was literally the only person there waiting for my procedure on a gurney bed at 4pm. They were cleaning the floors all around me. This was not the best experience since at that point I haven't eaten in over a day and did not have water for over five hours. The nurses should call and tell you that they are behind so to not waste my time sitting around waiting. If a client was two hours behind, they would definitely not serve them yet it doesn't work like that in reverse. My advice is to only schedule appointments in the morning read more

This place is great but... the woman Serena who put my IV in did such a terrible job. It's been nearly 2 weeks and my arm is still fully bruised and it hurts to type or move it around. She put it in one of my veins near my hand, which is already such a sensitive area. before she did that, I asked her why she didn't want to do it on my arms where it normally goes and she said "they" like it better by the hands. So I figured she knew what she was doing -- after she forced the needle in, I could feel it was hurting so bad so I asked her to remove it 10 minutes later and she put it in my arm instead where I had originally requested it go. When she took the needle out, it was excruciating pain. It was already bruising. I thought nothing of it, but it truly hurts now to the point where I have to go see a doctor. So upsetting!! otherwise the experience itself is fine i've been there three times and the nurses are awesome. They really need to have some good professionals when it comes to setting up the IVs. And unfortunately, that was not the case. read more

Just had my 2nd colonoscopy here yesterday (first one was 5 years ago). Both times, I was in and out within 2 hours. Friendly staff, clean facility - couldn't ask for better treatment. I expected to wait longer and was surprised that I only waited 5 minutes after completing my paperwork before being brought in and placed in a bed. They spent about 15 minutes prepping me for the procedure and then brought me right into the room where team was ready to start immediately. When I woke up, Dr. Zeroogian came in within 5 minutes to go over my results. I wish all medical facilities were as well run as this one! read more

They were not upfront about what I owned them / authorization. Then months later I get a call from a Cedars that I owe $700. Note, this is not my first minor surgery and I've never been blindsided by a medical bill like this. Now my credit score which was nearly perfect has been knocked down because I refused to pay when they called (they guy on the phone was super rude). This place is a patient factory that shuffles people in and out. You can see it when you get there. Then they upcharge people and send it to their own network of debt collection - Cedars Business Services . Steer clear of this racket. read more

Great experience and I was very nervous and dreading it. I had my first colonoscopy today and it was way easier than I was expecting. The nurses and Dr Shindy were very nice and put me at ease right away. The prep was no problem and procedure was easy, just went to sleep with twilight and then woke up in the recovery area. As far as the facility, it's modern and well run/efficient. Some things I was wondering about from the bad reviews- Your ride cannot wait in the waiting room for you because then it would be too crowded, so it's only for patients. I appreciated that and my ride didn't want to wait for 2-3 hours anyway. You put your personal belongings in a bag which is stored on a shelf under your rolling bed. You stay in the bed the whole time and your bag travels with you to the procedure room and back to the recovery room on the bed shelf. read more

They gave me the wrong dosage of fentanyl for my procedure. I woke up in the middle of it with a lot of pain. They quickly gave me more and I ended up sedated in some bed for the whole day. They woke me up at the end of the afternoon to send me home because they had to close. Very scary experience. read more

Great staff, flawless procedure, well maintained office. Highly recommend this facility.

Very nice staff. Really kind. I didn't mind that my friend couldn't wait with me. I am a grown adult old enough to get a routine colonoscopy and don't need my hand held. I would much rather have a nice clean environment where the staff is taking all the precautions to keep me healthy. I was very surprised at the ease of the whole experience. read more

The care seems to be fine. Unfortunately, they don't allow anyone to wait in their "Waiting Room." They said it was because of Covid. (Today 3/11/2024) Look, I work in Healthcare in an Acute Care Hospital. We have visitors in patient rooms, the hallways and the waiting areas. This is an Out-Patient Center. Nowhere near the seriousness of an Emergency Room or Acute Care Facility. C'mon Pasadena Endoscopy Center. Get it together. Gotta be honest - I was not looking forward to my every 10 yr. colonoscopy. I came here 10 yrs. ago and had Dr. Littenberg again today. They have this down to a fine science and the nurse said the five doctors perform 50 procedures a day. Lots of paperwork with the typical prep that we all complain about with plenty of texts and phone call reminders ahead of time. Clean safe facility during the covid-19 days. So glad I'm clean for another 10 years. Hurrah! read more

Horrible nurse manner, very rude specially the one with purple hair color. went there for colonoscopy and made my partner wait in the car (94 deg heat) I also saw others waiting in the lobby why some people can stay and some have to leave. I deeply want to thank all the team of this center. From the Lady that came on the parking to take the temperature and give a mask to all the nurses I saw, the two doctors. Everybody was so nice. I went here today and every single person I spoke to was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had an appointment with Dr Beblawi, who is caring and incredible. His staff was also amazing. The regular staff at the facility was great. My appointment was on time and they took COVID regulations very seriously which I was thankful for. Going through a colonoscopy is not what most would consider a "good time," especially if it's your first experience with the procedure, as it was for me. The prep work alone is daunting, not to mention the anxiety that comes with undergoing anesthesia for the first time. In a situation where you are naturally apprehensive, the staff's demeanor and organization can make all the difference. That's precisely what I found at this center. From the moment I entered, it was apparent that the center is exceptionally well-run and squeaky clean. The center operations felt like a well-oiled machine, and that alone was incredibly reassuring. Knowing that you are in capable hands is half the battle when you've been fasting, sleep-deprived, and--let's be frank--pooping for 16 hours straight. Kudos to the ladies at the reception who were super efficient, Nurse Paulina was very compassionate and ensured that I was comfortable throughout the preparation phase. Anesthetist Sharon was very professional and reassuring, putting to rest my fears about going under anesthesia for the first time. Tech guy Jack added a touch of humor that was unexpected but absolutely welcome in lightening the mood, the ride to the procedure was fun when Jack was at the wheel! Of course, none of this would matter if the doctor performing the procedure was not up to par. I had the pleasure of being cared for by Dr. Chen, who was nothing short of excellent. Not only did he thoroughly explain the results of the procedure to ensure I was informed, but his expertise was evident in the seamless execution of the colonoscopy itself. I feel wonderful and as if nothing happened afterward. In a delicate situation like this, the compassionate, professional, and efficient approach taken by the entire team turned what could have been a harrowing experience into something entirely manageable, and dare I say, pleasant (all things considered). To the entire team at the center, especially nurse Paulina, anesthetist Sharon, tech guy Jack, and of course, Dr. Chen, thank you for setting a gold standard in patient care. You guys rock! read more

My second colonoscopy here. Last one three years ago. All clear this time so I'll not need return for another 5 years. One's first experience is being greeted in-vehicle by lovely and efficient Eva, quite an institution there, who asks various Health questions, and takes one's temperature. Everything done masked. At check-in the inevitable paperwork to be signed. Friendly receptionists and chairs at both counters incase one is feeling a little weak post prep. A nice touch. The facility is very clean and well ordered. The whole procedure from start to finish runs like a benign, well oiled machine. The nurses, I dealt with three from my bed, were thoughtful, caring, and efficient. It's lovely being provided with with socks in advance and a warm blanket once one is on the gurney. They are very thorough checking one's vitals and identity more than once. One waits in quite a large, but intimate, room with a good buzz, and maybe 10 beds or so? Curtains separate beds. I personally like not being solo in a room with my thoughts at this stage of the procedure! I had Dr Shindy again, he would always be my choice, though I'm sure the other doctors there are also very good. They gave me a conscious sedation. Some drugs in the IV and you're out like a light. Best way! Dr Shindy told me the good news, then I was returned to the nursery area and checked on by nurses. After I'd regained some of my senses I was given copies of photos taken during the procedure for my files. About 20 minutes for the procedure itself, and with the to'ing and fro'ing I was in at 7.30 and home by 9.00. A good job done by all and a v good result! Definitely my first choice in Pasadena. read more

I have a friend who is 45yo and healthy, but she recently was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and she was encouraging all of her friends to get screened. From the nurse who greeted me in a socially distanced safe manner, to the nurses and doctor (i was assigned to Dr. Zeroogian), my first colonoscopy went pretty smoothly so to speak . If you visit In Site Digestive care's website, you will notice the number of degreed professional doctors which should allay any worries. It may have been less stress-inducing to have a phone or virtual consult for first-timers, but other than that I will say i had a positive expert. As a medical profesional, I find alot of people not wanting to talk about a reccommended test when you get older... ..colonoscopy. i was not suprised there were no reviews for this center, but because this experience was such a positive one, iI wanted to share the info. in hopes that those who do need this test and have been avoiding it, will pick up the phone and schedule. This center is a freestanding building with private parking lot. Am very impressed with the communication from this clinic. I felt well informed throughout their entire processs. There is a very specific method you have follow to prep for this test and it is to be done on certain days. Not only are you provided it in writing via mail/email, but they text you the reminder the day before it is to be done. Upon arriving at the clinic, the staff worked like a smooth oiled machine. From the RN greeting you in the parking lot to bring you inside to the RN setting you up in the room. Once setup, the doctor explained the procedure and put me at ease. I had Dr. Glenn Littenberg and despite the fact that it was my first time meeting him and the interaction was brief, I felt safe under his care. I found the entire staff and MD very caring and wanting to make sure I was comfortable and informed the whole time. At no time did I ever feel uncomfortable, embarrassed or unsafe. This experience truly exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this place without any hesitation. read more
