I had the most efficient visit here! Due to luck, I visited here last night around 7 PM and was out before 8:00 PM. Complete pleasant surprise. Thanks to Dr. Google's initial diagnosis, NP Kevin was able to confirm my condition and quickly wrote me much needed script for meds. They do still have strict protocols in terms of waiting room. Only one party is allowed in the registration area and then you are requested to wait outside or in your car until you are called in. At registration, my insurance card was scanned. Then I waited outside for a few minutes, and I was called in. Once I was called in and placed in a room, a nurse came in, asked me a few questions why I was here, provided paperwork for me to complete, took my vitals, and took my credit card to process my copay. It was probably another 10 minutes before the nurse practitioner came in. Another 10 minutes of talking, I was out the door with medication waiting for me at my local pharmacy. NP Kevin was personable and had a great bedside manner. So if you can't get an appointment with your primary care physician and it's a non-threatening condition, definitely visit here! read more

I am just absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated during my visit on 10/11/2023. I had an "appointment" for 4:08PM (Yes, as ridiculous as that sounds, it was actually for 4:08PM). I have never been to UrgentMed before. I arrived at exactly 4pm and told the lady at the front desk I had an appointment. She said "You must be at the wrong place, we don't do appointments". I then said, "Yes, you do -- I made one online". She then said again, "You have the wrong place. Can you go outside while you figure out where you are supposed to be?" I was flabbergasted. As I'm about to leave, she said "Oh, are you Ryan?, come on back". Just to note, they absolutely do appointments online. You can select your time and pre-register and then show up at your designated time. She clearly didn't know what she was talking about and shouldn't at all be a representative of the company. Sadly, there were four other employees all standing around chatting with each other up front and the one lady looked shocked at the way she treated me, but said nothing. But anyway, guess what? An appointment didn't do a darn thing here. I was sat in a room at 4:04PM and the doctor came in at 5:33PM. Just shy of 1.5 hours, which is ridiculous. An assistant came in at 4:30PM to take vitals and after her three minutes with me said "The doctor will be right in". Her definition of "right in" is 1 more hour. The doctor was actually incredibly nice and seemed to take the time to listen to me and do a proper examination; however, everything else was just a hell of a mess. I will be following up to make sure that this gets remedied and I hear back from someone appropriate in decision making for this location. read more

My husband had a large cancerous spot on his scalp removed, and the turban-like bandage around his head needed to be changed. The medical staff at this facility took great care of him and were able to replace the original bandage with a better one! They also gave us important information about wound care that we never had heard from the surgeon. read more

I wanted to take my child here because they're apart of our network. I checked in online and still have to wait over 2 hours. There is no waiting room so I was told to wait outside with my child. Needless to say i found another place and was able to get and out, while my daughter was still on the wait list. I contacted them to remove us from the list. read more

I was desperately searching for a place for COVID-19 testing when I came down with flu symptoms and lost my sense of taste/smell. I was so grateful when I was able to get through and an actual human answered the phone. I was able to get on a waitlist for the test and they called me with a 30 min. warning so that I could get there in time. I didn't have to wait and went right inside. The reason for 4/5 stars is 2 reasons: the doctor is a little insensitive/rude, and I'm pretty sure the $165 charge for the visit is a total scam. When I initially called, they said it would be $125. But as soon as they found out I have a deductible plan, the charge went up. I tested positive, and when I got the call from the doctor it was very cold and abrasive. I also asked them to email me my results and they said it's not possible. Never dealt with a healthcare system that isn't able to secure file upload via their health portal? I shouldn't have to drive out of my way to get a copy, especially when I've been told to quarantine? Makes absolutely no sense. Be prepared for a long wait if you don't make an appointment, but definitely worth it for piece of mind. read more

Round of applause for Dr. Hills' disgusting behavior. My second time here for a reoccurring issue and he tells me to follow up with my primary care physician because going back to urgent care is like "throwing wet toilet paper at the wall" ( whatever that means). I felt so belittled by his demeanor... I explained to him that I would follow up- but that urgent care is more convenient than having to wait weeks, sometimes months to be seen by my pcp. Dr. Hill needs to just retire because it's clear that he isn't passionate about medicine. The only way he fits in at this urgent care is because of his sense of URGENCY to end the conversation and be done. The doctor was fine, but it took over 2 hours and dismissive humiliation from the rest of the staff to get a diagnosis and treatment. Here's what happened...I cut my finger on a Friday and on Saturday it was very painful, swollen, and obviously infected. I was in a lot of pain. I went to an urgent care place that was not "in network" and had to scramble to find another one, so I ended up here. Because I was in so much pain by that time, I turned on my voice memo recorder on my phone because I thought I would forget whatever any caregiver told me. That's how I got a transcript of these gems from the rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional staff... On arrival at the clinic, I explain I cut my finger and now it's swollen and I'm in a lot of pain. Reception person: "We have three beds and they are all full right now." Full stop. That's all she said. Me: "What does that mean? Should I go somewhere else? This hurts really bad." Reception person: "It means we have three beds that are full right now." Yes, they seriously said that. It was like bad sketch comedy. Me: "Wow. I know what it literally means, but can you tell me how long the wait is? It just hurts like crazy. Should I go somewhere else?" Reception: "We don't give out wait times, but you can wait and we will take you back when a room is available." OMG, so helpful. I waited. Fortunately, a room became available pretty quickly. But don't get too excited, folks, because there was plenty more waiting to be done. I was shown a room and told to wait. I waited for over an hour, about 70 minutes, before anyone came back. The pain was excruciating but fortunately, I kind of passed out since I had not slept all night because it hurt so bad. They took vitals and I explained the pain. The nurse-maybe (no introduction but wearing scrubs) told me the doctor would be in eventually but if he gave me something for pain "he would have to poke me." I tried to dismiss the condescending tone and suck it up, but it hurt like a MF at this point. I'm thinking that I would gladly take a "poke" over the pain, but it was not actually an option in the end. She let me sit there for another 30 minutes before returning to wash out the wound. Total time is now about 100 minutes. After washing it out, I grunted a little about how much it hurt even though it didn't look all that bad. As she walked out of the room, she laughed at me. Yeah, laughed at someone in pain. What is that about? What's wrong with you? Have you considered that you're in the wrong profession? I don't need fake sympathy, but I definitely don't want your ridicule. Nobody wants to feel like their pain is not taken seriously. It was deeply unprofessional. Once the doctor came after another 35 minutes, he gave me antibiotics and confirmed that the pain from an infection of this type can be extreme. Even though it does not look terrible with puss gooping out and blood shooting everywhere, the infection causes a high pain reaction in order to get us to take it seriously. It's a good thing I did not ignore the pain the nurse scoffed at because apparently, I could have lost my thumb due to the infection. Turns out, I like my thumb and want to keep it. Anyway, avoid this place if you can. Seems like they are not too big on "urgent" or "care." read more

I've heard a ton of bad things about urgent care facilities and how the staff is unfriendly and difficult to work with. Went through Yelp and found UrgentMED as one of the better ones and came in last week to get a rash checked out. I came as a walk in during the morning and was in and out of there in about an hour. I was brought into one of the exam rooms (super clean!!) and got all my vitals taken quickly. Kevin, the nurse practitioner and Marlene (I believe that was her name), the medical assistant came in afterwards. My rash was in a pretty inconvenient spot, so when I brought it up to Kevin, I could see and hear a muffled laugh from Marlene. Please check on that bedside manner! I got my diagnosis really quick and was sent on my way with my prescription. Overall, I had a pleasant and quick visit to UrgentMED despite the poor bedside manners. I got what I needed and I've pretty much recovered after a week. read more

I want to be clear that the staff and nurses are great. They are extremely friendly, caring, accommodating and are the saving grace of this office. My time with Dr. Hill was not as pleasant. Felt like I was being reprimanded by a parent for being there. I came in for a cut on my finger. Brief run down of our time together - Complained about having to work, constant sighing about having to be in office, remarks about how he rather be home watching TV. Obviously we both would, I'm getting stitches. Left no room for questions. When I asked about my injury and if stitches were even required he took that as a jab against his medical expertise/experience. He looked clearly offended I questioned a recommendation and gave a condensing answer about doing it another non-medically sound way. A simple "no the wound is too deep" would have sufficed. Told me I had to "suck it up" when he was checking the depth of the cut after I briefly recoiled from him opening the wound. Generally unpleasant and belittling. So much so that during the initial visit I felt like I had to overcompensate by being overly friendly, making small talk and constantly apologizing simply for him to stitch my wound. He made it clear he didn't have to be there, want to be there, or help. Repeatedly asked why I hadn't gone somewhere closer to where I lived Condescending comments about my reasoning for not immediately leaving work when the injury happened and not visiting an emergency room closer to my home the night of. Again, this was a cut on my pinky finger... It likely could have healed on its own but I chose to come in to expedite healing time. When I came in for a followup and to remove the stitches, he asked me "who did those," to which I replied "you did." So you can imagine they did not look great. Extremely uncomfortable visit. This wonderful business just keeps getting better! Our family is stuck with the always-terrible Kaiser, but UrgentMed bailed us out of a bad Kaiser situation once again. My daughter had a sore throat and she went to the Kaiser at Hastings Ranch this past Friday because a doctor actually agreed to see her without an appt (which is normally impossible). The doctor performs a quick strep throat test, it's negative, and my daughter asks her for some antibiotics because she can tell her condition is worsening. The doctor says to "give it a few days" and, of course, her condition worsens quickly so we headed over to UrgentMed on Sunday and got the prescription for the antibiotics and a steroid after a quick examination by the wonderful doctor. The BEST part is that UrgentMed now accepts Kaiser so there was no copay and we just headed out the door to the pharmacy. This clinic works quickly not because they are lacking business, but because they care about their patients and work efficiently to get them taken care of promptly. Kaiser, of course, has NO idea what efficient patient care is so hopefully we can have UrgentMed handle the bulk of our needs going forward. read more

Hi I and my boyfriend came into the Pasadena office in severe pain and were informed 2 hours later that the X-ray tech was gone and there is no capability to implement blood work. I'm now being charged to be told to go to the hospital to be evaluated all over again when we both could have a serious or life threatening medical condition with delayed treatment. I do not agree with the 119 dollar payment I made just to be told by the doctor to go to the hospital. Also the website is not working so I was not able to contact them directly. This place is amazing! The staff is extremely kind and friendly, they treat you with respect. The entire office is clean and comfortable, and again the staff was just wonderful. I expected a wait to be seen but only spent about 5 minutes in the waiting room. They were very LGBTQ friendly and I received compliments on my rainbow cell phone case. The doctor was in to see me after only waiting five minutes. I will definitely be coming back here if I need urgent care again. I would give them more stars if I could! read more

After the visit, I have been told that the internet system crush and would not able to provide prescription and paperwork. However, they still can charge me the co-pay with no receipt printed and promised to email me everything the next day. The second day morning, I called to ask about prescription/medication and they told me the doctor never signed and I have to wait until another day. This urgent care is wonderful, hands down the nicest one I've ever been to before. My daughter woke up sick with a fever and we noticed her finger had become infected as well. We were pretty worried so we headed over to UrgentMED when they opened since our pediatrician's office is closed on the weekends. When we got there parking was very easy/free and we waited only about 5 minutes before being seen. A very different experience than going to the ER! I'm so glad they take our insurance. From the moment we arrived the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The women behind the front desk were great and the nurse who took my daughter's blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight was so sweet. My daughter usually panics at the doctor's office and cries a ton but this nurse was so relaxing and calm.. I honestly wish we could bring her to our pediatrician's practice so we could work with her every time we go in. She brought some Frozen stickers for my daughter which were a wonderful distraction and made her really happy. The nurse practitioner, Kevin Foster, was also incredible. He was very easy going and we could tell he made recommendations for our daughter based on the fact that she is still just a toddler. Instead of draining her finger he recommended we let it soak in warm water and wrote us a prescription for a 5 day antibiotic. He was completely on my daughter's level when they interacted and mentioned he had a 3 year old, which didn't surprise me at all. He knew how to talk to my toddler to put her at ease and made sure she didn't have a nightmare experience at the clinic. He communicated with her before each thing he did which I know made her feel better and less afraid. After the exam was finished another very sweet nurse came in with a treasure chest full of prizes, which again made my daughter really happy. She left with a little pink frog toy, a lollipop, and an rx to make her feel better. This place is amazing and we will be back any time someone in our family is not feeling well on the weekend. So fucking unorganized!!!! Everyone in line trying to get tested for Covid has been at the same position for 3 hours. Finally, an employee comes out to inform everyone that they are only accepting CASH ONLY, and if you have insurance your shit out of luck. I did ask why is the wait taking so damn long. The answer was there is only "two" working in the front office and "two" in the back. I mean for 4 employees total. Especially, with this surge??? Why didn't this facility prepare for this? The staff here is super helpful and friendly. Came here for a Christmas COVID test and it was a really smooth process given the nature of the circumstance. Got here at 7:45a and got tested at 9:30a. Words cannot describe this urgent care facility. I went to this urgent care facility because I had flu like symptoms. As soon as I walked in, the girls I think Liz and another asian girl in the front greeted me with such great customer service. They were very polite and quick! As advertised, I did not need to wait and was soon directed to a room to check on my temperature. Dr. Kevin came in and he made me feel very comfortable. He gave me a test for the flu and it turned out negative so I was happy. Customer service: A++ By the way, they also have some medications in stock instead of taking it to the pharmacy where sometimes it will take forever!! Keep up the good work! read more

Got here right at opening to get a rapid test. Only one woman beat me to it in putting her name down. After waiting for three hours in my car, I called to see how many people were ahead of me and they HUNG UP ON ME. I get that they have a stressful job and these are stressful times-- but a little basic decency would be nice. (And I still haven't been seen). Was told that this place does same day COVID-19 testing results. Went in on a Tuesday at around 2pm, and waited about an hour and a half to be seen. There was only about 3 people ahead of me, but it seems to take long because they sanitize everything before allowing someone else in. We got our results Back in less than 20 minutes! This review is about the EXER location at 600 S. Lake, which used to be an UrgentMed that I had wonderful experiences with, but has recently become and Exer so anyone who has been to the Urgent Med that was here and liked it, so did I, but my entire opinion has changed. DO NOT GO HERE. The staff and nurses are lovely, and as someone who has worked in a clinic, private practice, and hospital setting I know how hard the job is. The doctor, however, is why the current medical community is getting a bad rap. If Dr. Jenny Lazarus is the one treating you, you will NOT be treated like a human being who has any understanding of their own body or unique medical history. Moreover, you will spend over 3 hours waiting, in sickly misery, to spend that time in minutes with her just to be dismissed. In my specific situation, I am prone to sinus infections and have been for years. 7 years ago, after one that kept coming back after treatment we found the solution - a 5 day course of rocephin injections. This has kicked each infection I've gotten and guaranteed no relapse since that time. I get them every 1-2 years and one day I will have sinus surgery but until this this method is tried and true. I have a wonderful doctor who unfortunately was not in the office this week and so I've done what I've had to do before - gone to urgent care where they always listened and respected my experience and wanted to help me get better. Dr. Jenny Lazarus rejected everything I said and said she would authorize my historically successful treatment and that was that. I am a mother of four children with an ill newborn, I think it's safe to say even if that weren't my circumstances I do not want to come to Urgent Care 5 days in a row to get an injection in her butt unless I'm pretty certain it's the only way to be out of the agony of a sinus infection and not have to go through this all again when it comes back from too short of treatment. When saying this is is my normal protocol, can we do the 5 injections seems, she didn't give it any human consideration and acted like I was asking for opiates and not just to get past an infection so I can mother my 4 children under the age of 7. The amount of anger and disappointment that now tomorrow, on a Friday when my regular doctor is not in the office, I have to start at square one with another urgent care, exposing myself and my newborn to more illness, is indescribable. Dr. Jenny Lazarus said "that's not indicated or authorized" and went on her merry way causing stress in a family of 6 that could have so easily been avoidable had she taken the time to consider me as a human who knew my body and own medical history. I have never written a serious review, I usually have the attitude of "you never know what the other person is going through," but in this case it is so upsetting and such a disruption to my life just to feel and stay well I had to. She should not be employed here. I am deeply fortunate enough to have health insurance and I would hate for someone to pay out of their pocket to be treated with so little humanity. I will also be contacting the company directly about this doctor. To call her a doctor when she cannot take the time to treat a patient like a human or consider them as an individual is giving the other amazing urgent care doctors a bad name. She has personally added so much stress to my life, and that of my whole family, that so easily could have been avoided with more time, conversation, or empathy, and I deeply hope she doesn't get the opportunity to do this to any other person. I will be posting this on the urgent med Yelp also bc of the address, but again, that's a great company and my complaint is specifically about Dr. Jenny Lazarus and Exer. read more

They refunded the guy in front of me because he was frustrated with the wait, he asked for a manager and got a refund. One person swabbing when there's 50 people in line. $120 for a COVID test, you would expect there would be some urgency to get these people out but there was not. read more

No one was in the waiting room when I walked in. I got taken to the exam room immediately. Waited awhile to be seen by a doctor. Maybe close to an hour...I was seen by Dr. Hill and he diagnosed me rather quickly. I think I was seen for a total of 5 minutes. The shortest anyone has seen me for. And although it seemed like he couldn't care less to fully answer my questions, I can't complain since I was seen pretty quickly compared to other urgent cares and got the prescription meds I needed. I love this urgent care. They are quick and efficient and more proactive about my health than the ER or my primary doctor. I've been going here for over 7 years now (before the new owners) and everyone has always been so friendly and helpful. They are so detailed they make sure it's okay to do certain test and the rate before they do them. It gives you a piece of mind exactly how much things will cost (which some Urgent Cares aren't as transparent). The doctor's are straight to the point and super helpful. I wish he was my primary doctor. The only thing that is a bummer is they don't have and ultrasound machine so have to go outside to a imagining center. I wish I can give this place zero stars. I went in today for a COVID rapid test because I came back from a friend's wedding. Everything went ok until the end after they swab your nose and ask you to wait outside. It's like the place did not think through about a gathering of potential COVID positive patients outside. Literally some patients outside were sneezing/blowing their noses (all COVID RELATED SYMPTOMS) and do not comply with the mask wearing (Delta variant spreads more even when outdoors). I don't know why they don't just tell the patients to wait in their cars or give the results by email, text, or calls. This change can make patients including myself more at ease and feel safer. I might have been exposed because of the clinic's lack of planning here. read more

Heartless receptionist. I came in with 3 year old who's been having a fever on and off for a few days. Didn't even blink twice before sending me to the ER Didn't want to hear about it, didn't want to see the child. Just a F you, go sit in a crowded ER for 4-8 hours filled with sick people while your 3 year old can just continue to suffer and possibly contract a real serious disease.
