Had the perception, I should support a small business owner. So despite the negative reviews I went to ParWest Golf FIRST (w/$1500. to spend). There were three employees in the building on a Saturday ( 3 persons when we walked in, then down to one other, then no one but us). We knew this because we became the only patrons in the shop. We spoke loud enough for them to her us, we asked to hit a few balls, we asked questions about what was available - we gave them so many opportunities to ignite and build a sale but instead, we walked in and found the front counter employee on their phone, then they were fixed on some game on tv. Even after we tried a club out they didn't even try to engage us. We left and went to Galaxy Golf with the perception of it being corporate. HUGELY mistaken. Lance gave us some time on the floor. Gently approached. Answered our questions and then got us on the range to test out our potential clubs. Lance gave me some education tips. Gave me space to think and I bought the full set and met the trainer for lessons. lance also recommended Stone Creek in Oregon City, OR to practice and take my dad. Literal high five to Golf Galaxy. You have my money and my loyalty. Really sorry ParWest Golf. We hoped it would work out. read more

They are a club broker. Order from the manufacturer (ion my order). Had to have by certain period of time and they couldn't get it. I then cancelled order and they charged me a $17 fee. Better off going with a well known brand that can deliver the product timely. read more

Tony is the man! He fitted me for a new set of irons on 5/14 and focused solely on finding the clubs that performed best for me, without pushing any particular brand. Overall, the fitting was good old fashioned fun. Regarding some of the comments here, there are always two sides to a story. A lot of the criticism seems to come from bitter keyboard warriors who don't fully know what they're talking about. Thanks ParWest team!!! read more

Yo, these the dudes. Them boys hooked me up with some good old grippy grips, bub. They do have the ping style rubber putter grips. You bet they do. Go in the store. How about you look at some putter covers? How about you go looking for some nice little coverage for your driver how bout? A nice little something for the tippy top, big dog. Walk in with a good attitude and snag a stand bag of incredible magnitude. Thanks bros. read more

ParWest Golf - Putter grip - Golf Equipment Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I get all my golf equipment worked on there ! They are professional and everything comes out great

Literally the rudest people I've ever dealt with in retail. They never say thank you on the phone and if there was any other business around that had a machine to quickly dry epoxy even for 3x more I would go there. Owner is nice enough but everyone else there leaves you scratching your head wondering if you did something wrong. Ungrateful. Might have to open my own golf store read more

Lot of great souvenirs that combine golf with Portland, Oregon. The design is very creative. Parwest got a lot pre-own clubs to choose from and many of them are collectible. Parwest Golf is more of a golf speciality store compare to a general big box sporting goods store. Instead of just a sales talk in selling customer golf clubs. Parwest actually take their customers in a PGA tour player fitting process. Their staffs are equipped with PGA tour level work experience. The fitting process is mind enlightening. They got many formal and current tour truck experience club builders and fitters onsite. read more

Friendly-ish staff, If you're looking to trade in your clubs I recommend selling on eBay. I brought in a set of titleist blades and was offered less than a fifth of what the set is worth. I understand it's a business you've gotta make money but not a good way to keep customers coming back. read more

ParWest Golf - 60 dollars for a set 3-9 with good grips they offered? - Golf Equipment Near Me - Portland, Oregon

UPDATE: Please see screenshot of what the business owner sent me. I had bought a set of Titleist T300's from Golf Galaxy and decided I wanted to get new shafts. I called this place to see if they could help me out. Made an appointment to get fitted by one of their "pros". When I arrived with my irons, the guy already seemed not interested because my irons were already new and realized he wasn't going to be making a sale by me buying a full new set. He half assed fitted me and at the end he said the only way I could get new shafts is if I traded in my T300s and bought a completely new set. SERIOUSLY?!? My irons were less than a month old and he was trying to get me to trade-in my irons and only get the PGA value for them AND THEN buy the same exact irons so he can make money. Y'all are garbage read more

Consider this your local pro shop - even if you live nowhere near it. They carry and curate all the best brands, they have beer on tap, and the owners know when to reach out with some advice and when to just let you browse as you take in all the golf glory. I'd been looking for an Odyssey White Hot OG putter for a while and couldn't find it anywhere in PDX. Yup, they had it. The staff is great and the shop's vibe is super mellow - no stuffy golf club vibes here. I definitely suggest you drop by to look around, putt around, and crush a few balls and beers! read more

We love Par West. It's surprising to read some of these reviews as our experience has always been extremely positive. Tony focuses on helping us make the best choices for our needs and budget every time we go there. We live on the other side of the river but make special trips to visit Par West for golf needs. He even took extra steps to get my husband's new clubs expedited in time for a golf trip he had planned. Instead of arriving while he was away, they arrived the day before he left. read more

Went into this store in good faith. Wanted to keep my money in my neighborhood. I was treated so poorly by the owner and his staff. When I filed a Google review, I was attacked viciously. I couldn't believe that anyone in business, with a goal to be successful could be so petty and malicious. All you have to do is read the Google reviews to know that this is an unacceptable pattern of behavior spread out over several customers who have frequented this establishment. I DO NOT recommend that you spend your money here. Unless of course you enjoy being treated like trash and like your money doesn't matter. read more

I had an awesome experience at PWG. I drove all the way from Beaverton and it was well worth it. I came in needing guidance and advice on my current set up and insight on a possible upgrade to my set. Tony checked my current set and instead of trying to sell me new items I didn't need, he was honest and recommended I stick with what I have for now. I've shopped at Redtail and GolfGalaxy and they don't come close to the level of service that Tony and PWG showed me. You don't feel rushed or pressured like other places that can be hectic. Selection looked amazing and I will be buying all my future items here for sure! read more

I stopped in to trade in a couple used clubs. Tony game me a good fair price for them. I shopped around a bit and found something everybody needs...more golf balls. There was no pressure or pitch to buy anything which is nice. Cool place. They had a big screen tv going and some music in the back ground. ParWest is definitely an upgrade from the previous owner and I will definitely be going back when I run out of my new golf balls. read more

Solid shop, has most everything you're going to need. Tony takes great care of all of his customers. I had a special order that was supposed to take several weeks to months, they made it happen in a couple of weeks. Totally went the extra mile, and it's appreciated. read more

A golf shop that has survived the pandemic, and has maintained good service. They gave me a good deal on a wedge I'd been looking for. No pressure. No problem. I was able to test the club out, and walked out a satisfied customer. I will return for future golf needs, and recommend others do so as well. read more

This has become my go-to golf shop. Historically I'd buy my golf clubs, apparel, accessories at my club's pro shop but I lived near Par West so I figured I'd try them. Great customer service in club purchases, I even rented the simulator for a few hours and had a few beers. I recently purchased a Cobra Rad Speed driver and unfortunately broke it. The guys were able to accommodate my situation by getting me a new driver at all cost mostly to them. No questions or hassle. They could've easily told me to take a walk but chose the customer first. I'll continue to buy all my stuff from Par West Golf, thanks guys! read more

Went in today with my buddy. We both got a level of knowledge from staff that we would not get before buying a product online and got hands on too. Very low pressure setting. Was helped by Royce on this occasion but others offered comments too. One thing I often encounter because I tend to wear old worn clothes most of the time is a pre-judgment that I am not going to buy anything. I tend to walk when that happens. You can't tell who has money ready to spend by what they look like. If you help everyone the same like these guys, your business will always come out ahead. That's something that a friend of mine told me that won national sales competitions regularly. Treat every customer like a repeat customer and you will often turn them into one. jeff read more

My wife took me to ParWest Golf store for my birthday. We live in Hawaii and she set up a Club fitting with Royce an employee at the store. What a great experience working with a pro on being fitted for and buying a set of Golf clubs. If you're ready for an upgrade in clubs or want a fitting or just a new iron go to ParWest. Great customer service. My truck was recently broken into and i had to replace a couple pricey golf items. These guys went above and beyond to take care of me and get me back on the course. They also included a discount just because of my bad luck. I'd highly recommend checking out their shop. read more

Recently went in for a triple fitting for myself and two brothers-in-law. Tony helped schedule us and Royce took care of the fittings. This was our first time going through the fitting process so we were very excited, all over the place, and unsure of what to expect, honestly. Royce was the man and everyone else in the shop were just as great. Royce took his time, answered all of our questions, and while one person was going through the fitting, the other guys were helping everyone else get ideas for clubs to try all squared away. The service was second to none, matched only by the vibe. The whole day honestly felt like we were in our backyard with hundreds of clubs and shafts at our disposal. Low pressure and easy like a Sunday morning. Having beers on tap definitely helped add to the experience. ParWest took care of us and made sure we were walking out of there not only 100% informed, but 100% satisfied. As a bonus, they even hooked us up with a little bit of in store credit for my two brother's-in-law to add to their already sweet purchases and they even hooked me up with an additional trade in bonus on my old clubs. Was totally unexpected, but not in the least bit surprising with how they treated us all day long. ParWest Strong, ParWest All Day Long. You made a customer for life for all my future golf needs. read more

Great customer service with a personal touch. They have everything you need and dont try to upsell you on stuff you dont need . Cool golf shop read more

I had a positive experience here start to finish. I came because it's locally-owned, which I found out to mean that their employees can make recommendations on anything from courses to places to eat to directions around the area. I came in toward their closing time to get my irons re-gripped before my round the next morning and they expedited the process for me, which was a huge saver for me. Tony stayed with me and explained things to me (I'm not very knowledgeable about golf but am trying to become more-so) given my rudimentary questions, helping me to feel more confident in my purchasing, which has eventually turned into more knowledge and confidence on the course! ParWest Golf will be my go-to for golf needs going forward. read more

Great deals! And it always feels better supporting local business than big box stores!

Had the product in stock and price matched a competitor. The Garmin GPS golf watch was charged and ready to go out the door.

Local beer on tap, golf simulator and great genuine service. What else do you want?! I went in to get my clubs extended and was approached with excellent service. Guys are knowledgeable and care what you have to say. Going back just for the simulator! read more

The staff here is extremely knowledgeable. Been in the business for a long time and definitely know what customer service is all about. Unlike the big box stores this place is a gem and definitely cares more about customer service and the retail experience than the bottom line. The staff here live and breathe golf. Not a lot of places have GC QUAD this unlike Trackman can tell you face angle at impact. Support your local business and check this place out!!! Ask for Stewie aka E.T. read more

This was somewhat of a farce when it comes to club fitting...and essentially mislabeled on their website. What $99 gets you is the chance to use their launch monitor and swing a few of their clubs on stock. There was no involvement of the staff otherwise...no discussion about lie angles, club length, and other considerations. Basically not a useful destination. read more

While in town for a couple of days and after reading other reviews, I went in for an iron fitting. Kyler was great. Asked what I was currently playing (didn't have my clubs with me) and what I was hoping to accomplish. I was leaning towards a new set of TaylorMade 790s or 770s. Kyler asked whether I was open to other brands and I said I was but wanted to hit the TaylorMades first. Absolutely NO PRESSURE from him in any direction. He just kept changing out heads and shafts. We cycled through TMs, Ping, Srixon (I'm already familiar with Callaway) and ended up thinking a combo set of 770s and 790s would work best. Fitting was $99 (money very well spent) and that fee is waived if I buy from them. Also gives military discount. GREAT EXPERIENCE!! read more

I was passing by where Smitty's Golf Shop was located... and saw a Picture of Tiger Woods! Apparently, ParWest Golf is located there now. I tried on about Six Golf Gloves. I purchased a Wilson Staff brand Golf Glove. There is a small Selection of Women's Golf Clothing. I'm going to be back, there are some Really Nice Items. Also.... if you are looking for a Webbed Belt for Golf, or for your Job... there are Plenty. There are even the Kinds of Belts that you can Cut to Fit your Size. The Sales Staff that helped me are both Courteous and Friendly. I also noticed, but did NOT purchase those Golf Counters... you know that keep track of your Putts and your Swings... it's Manual. And in case you did NOT know where to put your Watch while playing for GPS... there is a Holder Specifically for it. There were a Couple in Stock, on the Afternoon that I was inside ParWest Golf shopping. Oh yes, ... there were Plenty of Golf balls just waiting to be bought. read more

Absolutely the best golf shop I've been to. If you're considering going to Golf Galaxy or another big box store, then you're crazy. Highly recommend. read more

Editing my review here. I'm a beginner only 2 years in- I try and love playing golf. I came for a "fitting" but was quickly told I was not good enough to buy new clubs. It was awkward and did not make me feel completely welcome to even continue when it was clear they did not want to continue with me. It was frustrating and shocking. I wish this place was more welcoming to beginners who want to continue playing the game, and are not turned away to feel like shit. read more
