Genuinely my favorite brewery in Portland (which is really saying something). Beers are spectacular…read moreand the staff is excellent. I love the space as well, though if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation and welcoming pastels this is NOT your spot. I wish we could bring the kids to hang out with us on the patio at least, but Portland permitting is weird AF. Love the merch, love the tap lists, love the events, love the cooler; what more can I say? To top it all off they have El Viejon serving some of the best mexican food anywhere in Portland right in the joint! I've yet to try a single dish that's not delicious and many are absolute favorites. Get a cali burrito and call it a day; you'll be set! Sam et al; you guys are amazing and we really appreciate you! I genuinely only wish I had more time to come spend enjoying Brujos.

Brujos is a hidden gem in NW/slabtown that everyone should try at least once…read more They just completed an interior renovation of the bar, and damn, is it ever a cool design and space. I am a big fan of the indoor/outdoor flow for the space, especially on nice weather afternoons like we have had recently. Outdoor seating is limited, so be prepared to sit inside. Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of bike stands to make this a car-free journey.

Was in the area and needed lunch, so we popped in. Lots of seating for a midweek lunch (parking in…read morethat area is another story...). Server was very friendly and attentive, lots of options for drinks. Pizza is for sure on the high side pricewise, sandwich was a little high, as well. That said... WOW. The sandwich is packed full and had a great balance of flavors and the pizza was some of the best I've had lately (and we currently live in a really incredible pizza city). Ruse makes great beer consistently, and both IPA's I tried were very solid. I'd normally cringe at the price, but the pizza was really amazing. Perfect balance of flavors that made every bite an exeperience. Not afraid to load up the roasted garlic and toppings, so you're getting a heavy pizza for the price - even if the size isn't immediately impressive. Will for sure pop in again.

I've heard really good things about the pizza here and finally made it in. It was a nice a hot day…read morebut we sat inside to avoid allergies. They had World Cup on the tv and the service was great! Please note you can't be seated until your full party is there so I waited at the bar which is also fun. Every pizza ordered was excellent. We loved the light airy crust with the crispy edges. My friend subbed for gluten free and it was the best she's tasted! I ordered the Green Knight because the sound of lemon ricotta was too irresistible. So good! We all ordered a pizza each and went home with leftovers to enjoy again. The beers were refreshing and I'll have to check out the cocktails next time. Will be back!

Had to go to Mississippi on a Saturday for an errand and figured I might as well make it a fun trip…read moreby getting some beer to take home. Bridgetown Beerhouse wasn't empty but it also wasn't overly crowded like some other nearby places at this time of night. They have some outdoor seating along the store and in the converted street parking. Inside has bar seating with multiple taps and some round tops. TVs had the game on (which game? I don't know, I don't do sports. I just know people were watching and cheering). There are multiple fridges well-labeled with types of beer, which is what I went straight to. I took a while debating what I wanted - the bartender greeted me but didn't offer help choosing. That's fine, they were busy enough, but expect to be on your own here. I ended up finding some winners that I hadn't seen elsewhere so I'm pleased.

There are plenty of regulars that support this joint but new faces are always welcome. They don't serve food but tons of options close by that you can order and bring in. Indoor and outdoor seating! Lots of bike parking too!!

Sara and Lace behind the bar craft cocktails that are personable and perfectly executed. But the real surprise is the kitchen: Trevor (formerly of Interurban) and George (ex-St. Jack's) bring a level of culinary curation you simply don't expect at a neighborhood spot. We ask a lot of questions when food is this good -- and they always deliver answers worth hearing. Exceptional quality at very reasonable prices. This place is a gem."

Happy hour on our first night in Portland, I specifically chose Bantam Tavern on Taco Tuesday…read morebecause of the reviews. I got a margarita, $10 on happy hour and the special tacos. This is a small comfortable neighborhood pub, with a few tables and a long bar. We sat at the bar. Bartender was cordial but not very interested in us, seems there were locals to chat with. I was disappointed I didn't get to try the chili roasted carrots, which were shown as a side or appetizer on the website menu. The bartender informed me they were only available in the tacos that day. I didn't order the carrot tacos, just two grilled chicken tacos. But at his suggestion, I ordered a $9 roasted vegetable and romescu sauce as a side dish. It was spectacular! Fennel, beets, yellow squash, all fresh and tiny like they came from the farmers market that day. The chicken tacos were loaded with charred chunks of chicken thigh, red onions, cotija cheese and cilantro. So much meat! The corn tortillas were a bit stiff but held up fine. And the chef introduced her cucumber salsa when she brought out our dishes. It was lovely, but could have used a lot more than the tiny cup provided. No second drink for me that night, happy hour was over. But the margie and tacos were spot on! Husband had a taco combo for $12 that I failed to photograph. We were both stuffed and happy. Still wondering about the carrots though!
